We got approved today. So CSC is still working on files!

We are so happy and it's the perfect Christmas present.

For all the people who haven't got touched or approved yet: your time will come and we are all here to support you guys!! Just be patient, because I am sure that we will see almost everyone of the September filers approved by the first 2 weeks of January. Try to celebrate Christmas with your families and/ or friends.

Nora & Adam

Congrats!

Hope they keep approving some more today before the holiday starts.

I feel like even after approval it just transferred from one wait to another wait, but at least there's a step or progress. Now it looks like my process may be delayed by a clerical error from the UAE on my fiancee's police clearance, and we may have to hold off scheduling our appointment even after we're eligible to do so. So, even though we're approved before you, you may get your interview and visa before us...

It will happen guys keep hanging in there, we're here cheering for you! We're all in this together.

Hi guys! Congratz for all the approvals this week. Im still waiting for mine and my noa1 is dated sept 10, 2009. I wonder what's going on with our application. Huhu =( im really getting frustrated already.

Where do u find the "touches". Is that the column where it says "last updated"? Coz mines says last updated 9/11/09.

Thank you! And once again, congratulations to those who were approved!

Yes, that is correct. The last updated date will change and that's what people here refer to as a "touch"

Ours was Sept. 23 until the day it was approved.

Still waiting to find out what the touch was, this afternoon has been worse than the whole past month of waiting. I almost wish I didn't know there was a touch on it and I just had a text or email with the result. I haven't been able to sit down all afternoon!

I hope they will update it tonight, not sure I can handle the stress of not knowing if it's approved or not all through the weekend.

Thanks everyone for all your input. I talked to the boy today and I think we're warming up to the idea of a full blown wedding. My friends Tracey and Matt were married last month and Tracey let me have her old planning stuff and Matt even flipped through a bridal magazine with us girls and pointed out the dresses he thought suited me best. I can handle this as long as it comes in one little step at a time.

We were originally planning a quick and easy ceremony, in Colorado you can just sign a slip of paper with witnesses, don't even need a government or religious official present (doesn't require much advance planning). Have a long weekend/ our honeymoon in Colorado in the Rockies, nice weather in later spring months. If it's too early in the year/ weather is too cold maybe Vegas, as cliche as that is there's really some nice wedding packages out there these days and it's also quick and easy.

Then, have a reception here in Madison, WI for US friends and relatives (it's pretty much impossible for anyone there/ Phils to get a visa to visit here). Not much option for an outdoor wedding if she was going to get here in Feb/ March, still pretty freaking cold here at that time.

On our one year anniversary we were planning to do a large ceremony in Philippines as a "renewal of vows", church wedding and traditional reception, inviting my family and of course all her Phils family and friends (which in a catholic country that doesn't believe in birth control is enough to fill a church anyway haha).

Like a few other people here, we're hitting a rough spot in our relationship though and there's a lot of trust issues, which of course isn't easier with the 8000 mile distance. I have only a few days vacation time left after my long visit there, that I'm sure I'll need for this process and at least for our wedding. She can't get a visitor visa, so this waiting is the only option.

There's of course the strain of waiting an unknown amount of time that we all are sharing.

There's a stigma as well against Philippines brides. I have very little support from friends and I'm almost embarrassed to tell acquaintances, even though she's working in Dubai 6 years when I started talking to her. People just assume it's someone 20 years younger and not-too-bright or with a bad moral fiber when you tell them she's from Philippines. Even my always-supportive and loving family is looking a little strangely at me, but smiling and saying nice words.

With the holidays coming, it's depressing to think of being single and alone, which is also adding to my general funk. I'm the type of decline invitations to parties and such if I don't have a date, and I'm not a cheater.... soo....

My last longer relationship ended a few days before Christmas, 2008. I remember the sting and loneliness very well, and not looking forward to it.

Sorry, venting. I'll stop now I think I'll drink myself to sleep.

goodluck to us all

Hi
Welcome to the club, when you get a chance fill in your timeline information as that's how all of the future visajourney watchers will know their timelines. It's also how igor's list is generated I believe and it will also give you an estimated NOA2 date.

I'm so happy to see more approvals this morning!! I think there's 4 now from September! They are definitely moving along again, and hopefully in 2-3 weeks it's our name on that list!!

That one approval was an I-130 (married).

I see now my timeline has backslid again to Dec. 21-Jan.3. Not long ago it was Dec. 5-15? It's slipped almost a month now. I can't imagine how much more it will slow down next week, the week of Christmas, and the week of New Year's if it still isn't approved by then.

FML.

I think if she's not here by March I'm just moving there.

My estimated adjudication date has slipped from Dec. 6-16 to Dec. 8-18 to a now Dec. 19-26.

Ugh. I'm sure the holidays aren't going to help speed it up any.

It's starting to look like a probable December approval may in fact be January.

Hope they start approving some soon and the timeline re-adjusts to early December.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2009 Filers! CSC
My everyday ritual (sometimes several times a day), is to open firefox, google USCI and by that time the auto complete shows USCIS case status. I open it, and type in WA and by then the auto complete fills in our case number (this is why I use firefox for this, I got sick of copying and pasting it into IE every time). When I see that it's still on Pending, then i hit the home button back to google, and type in igor's l, by then the auto complete shows igor's list, I click on it and the first search result is Igor's List CSC. I click on that and take a peek at the approvals (or lack thereof). I check and see what number we're at (132 on that page as of today).
Some days (a few times a week typically) I go a step farther and click our name in the list, which opens our profile page on VisaJourney. Then I click "timeline" on the left sidebar. This gives me our estimated NOA2 date (currently Dec. 9-18 I think). Less frequently I will also click the "view similar timelines", which will show me the average length of time between NOA1 and NOA2 (I think it's 79 days now? or something).

I avoid opening the VSC September filers or the general September filers forum page, as it's just frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they are getting such fast approvals, I just wish they would start pushing through a few more at CSC too!! I try to stay focused on the fact we thought our NOA2 would be 5 months when we started out, and if we're approved in December it's actually 3 months or under.

My birthday is Dec. 6, my future wife's is Dec. 21. We are hoping for our approval for a birthday present, or at least for a Christmas present.

I miss her so much!! Sure, we chat 3X a day typically online and usually can see each other in cam, but it's just not the same as kissing, holding hands, cuddling up together....

I know the wait will be worth it, and I keep focusing on the fact that once this wait is done, we're together and don't have to be apart again.

I'm sorry, I was quite off on my memory of the wording. When you open the trends and volumes page, you'll see the legends for the graph on the left side of the graph (google USCIS trends and volumes to find the page directly). From bottom to top is receipts, completions, awaiting customer data (RFEs), "pending but unripe, adjutication deferred", and "pre-adjudicated, awaiting visa number", and "all other pending"

As you probably all figured out by now adjudication is NOA2.

I remember being in the "nothing is happening!!" time freeze zone that you are in now. I actually made a post in the Sept. CSC filings that if we weren't approved by March I'm just moving there, because I'm like you all are now, frustrated that nothing is seemingly happening and going out of my mind waiting. 1-2 weeks later there's approval after approval after approval in our thread.

Just give it a LITTLE more time, you're almost there!!

And DON'T take out your frustration on your fiance! You are both frustrated beyond belief by this time and probably starting to squabble, don't do it. You're almost done, just be patient for a short time and you'll see a LOT of approvals falling from the sky.

Just to toss a little of what I saw last month out there for you guys:

Once we (Sept. CSC filers) started seeing a few approvals, there seemed to be a pause but then an avalanche of approvals shortly after the pause.

What I think happens, if you've looked at the "trends and volume" page on the USCIS website you'll see "approved but not at maturity" or some such wording. I think a lot of the applications are already approved and waiting for a stamp and processing to get them out the door. I'm not sure, but they seem to clean up older petitions for a while when transitioning months. I noticed it when the August filers started getting approved, then when the September filers started getting approved. There's a few approvals, then a long pause (but a few RFEs and older files approved), then a LOT of approvals within a couple of weeks.

Hopefully it's soon.

Good luck and best wishes of no RFEs.

Hi all! I'm newly registered on this site, and this is my first posting, but I did use some of the information from this site when assembling my I-129F packet and also when I was in the Philippines visiting my fiancee and before my visit there to determine what papers I should get from her when I was there. There's a lot of great information on this site and I'm thankful it exists.

I really wish I was assigned to VSC looking at this thread!! Anyone have any clue how fast Calif. is processing?

I don't think you have to file before the I-94 expires.
You just have to get married within the 90 days and then file as soon as possible.

I read once the I-129F visa is good for 6 months from issue, since you have to get married within 90 days, I assumed that gave you the other three months to get your AOS paperwork together and filed and any other requirements completed. I know once your AOS is filed then your new spouse is legal to stay until it's completed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI'm a U.S. Citizen, Marrying a Canadian in Toronto, Then Both Living in US
If you marry in Toronto you'll have to file for IR/CR1/ I-130 then wait until paperwork completes. Typically 3-6 months I think? She can visit, but not live here. This is the legal path.

If she's here legally as a visitor and you marry in the US, you can attempt to adjust status but she has to be here as a visitor and incidentally get married, not planned it that way. If they can prove she did plan to marry here, they can deport her and she may be blocked from entry for a number of years; to the best of my understanding. This could also bar her from ever being able to adjust status to the best of my understanding. One of the board mods can give you the specifics, but there are several couples on this forum who have married and adjusted status (successfully) from a visitor visa.

QUOTE (Jill/Mosaad @ Apr 27 2009, 07:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
First of all, let me thank everyone for all the help I received here on VJ. and thank you for all ur kind regards :x

I sent Mosaad's packet back on April 17, 09, the embassy here in Cairo received it April 18, 09.. April 23, 09 Mosaad got a call on his cell from the embassy, asking him if he could come in on April 26, 09 for his interview. of couse he said yes. they said ok, great, we will send u out the appointment letter..we received the appointment letter April 24,09.

We arrived at the embassy late the morning of April 26 , due to a problem we had on the micro bus ( long story)

We got there at 8:30am... they looked at his interview letter outside the embassy, and said go ahead in. We went in, got our number to be called. and about 10 minutes after arriving . Mosaad was called to the window. it was an Egyptian woman, she asked for his original birth certificate, and his original military certificate. she was there with his file , collecting all his papers. Then he was asked to go and pay DHL, and pay the fee for the Visa application. and he was told , sit down and his number would be called again.. so we proceeded to pay the DHL and Visa app fee. and sat down, about 10/15 minutes later, he was called again. This time it was an American woman, and she took his fingerprints.. the fingerprints were electronically taken on a machine. he was told to sit back down, and his number would be called again.

Well, this time, we waited about an hour or so.. before they called his number... there were many guys ahead of him, and unfortunately most of them were completing the interviews and leaving with papers that stated , either there was not sufficient evidence, or their case was going under review to USCIS.

so to say the least, we got a bit discougaged, thinking maybe something was gonna go wrong with our case.

They called his number, and we proceeded to the window.. .it was an American woman, late 20's, long dark hair, (wavy) green eyes, and very kind looking.

Let me give you a list of questions ( not in order) that she asked Myself and Mosaad

Jill:
1. How long have you lived in Egypt
2. When did obtain your divorce
3. Is your ex husband currently a permanant resident/US citizen
4. Who is __________ ( joint sponsor)
5. Are you still sponsoring your ex husband?
6. Have you met all of Mosaad's family?
7. Are you close to his family?
8. Why have you been living here this long?
9. Do you work here , or did you work in USA?
10.Did you sign a rental agreement in USA? ( yes, btw)
11.Are you seeking US employment currently?

Mosaad:
1. Tell me about your arrest ( Mosaad was arrested once, so we had to write an explanation explaining)
2. What is Jill's Birth date
3. What city was she born in
4. What is Jill's mothers name
5. What is Jill's mothers birthdate ( why in the world she asked that, we don't know, LOL, but he didnt know the answer and the IO said, np)
6.Does Jill's mother approve of your marriage ?
7.How does your family feel about Jill?
8.What do you plan on doing in USA?
9. Did you have a wedding party?
10. How many and who attended?
just a brief run down on the pics.... This IO looked at every single picture we had, and I mean looked, and asked who every person in the picture was. she spent atleast a good 5 mintues commenting/looking at our pictures.

11.What do you love about your wife?
12. Have you been married before ?
13. Do you plan to marry again ? ( which struck me as odd, but that's what she asked LOL ) Mosaad said.. this is my first and last ... and he chuckled .. and the IO looked at me, and said wow.. what a catch LOL

I might of missed a question or 2, but it seemed like a string of questions we were asked.. the IO was very polite and calm, and laughed alot with us.

At the end of the interview, she said, well it seems like everything looks good, and in order, Im going to keep your passport Mosaad, and you will receive your visa in 2 weeks.

she said, congratulations and do you have any questions.. we said no, thank you so much. and that was it.

We were at the embassy from 8:30 am until 12:00pm

For anyone going thru DCF here in Egypt... as long as you have all the required paperwork and everything is in order, and you follow all instructions... and your of course legit wink.gif your interview should be fine. it is for sure a nerve-racking day, but just tell the truth, and be calm. and things should run smoothly.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I feel I need to stress pictures... pictures with the family and also wedding pics... my IO seemed pretty interested with those. so if you don't have any, I would certainly invest some time in taking some with your husband's family.

and all questions asked on the DS 230, please know the answers .. they will ask you questions off of your visa application.

Good luck to all that are waiting, if I can be of any help to anyone here in Egypt, please feel free to let me know.

smile.gif

Congrats! Do you it went smoother with both of you at the interview. Inchaalah, Ahmed will have his interview later this year and I thinking about going over again for the interview.

Ps. the trip is from December 29 to Jan 5 and I ll be flying out of Chicago.

I know I havent been married that long and my husband isnt here yet, but when I was in Egypt from Feb to Apr this last year, Ahmed did the fasting for Lent with me. He would take to church for services. He wont go in with me but waited outside for me. I found so wonderful he did that for me. Now with Ramadan is upon us, I m fasting with him even though Im not with him.

Hi guys,

When I get back to the US, im going to change my last name to my husbands. Do you guys know any papers or forms that ill need, since i was married in egypt, not the US. What papers do we need from egypt. We are going back very soon, so I want to get everything we need before we leave. Thanks so much. Goodluck to everyone smile.gif

First of all, congrats on your marriage, I also got married in Egypt. I changed my name already to my husband's name. It was a simple process for me. I took our Egyptian marriage certificate and the translated copy in English to the social security office to get it changed my name on my social security card. Once I got the name card, I went to the DMV and gpt it changed there.

I hope this help.

The kids survived their first day of school as for me, i'm still recovering from all the paperwork that was brought home for me to sign. I wonder how the octomom survives the first day with all the papers that needs to be signed??
