K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproval!
WOOHOOOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You must be dancing in the streets (or want to)!!

Best of luck with the next steps. Make sure to celebrate THIS success as best you can!! :thumbs:

:dance: :dance: :D :dance: :dance:

P.S. Please don't forget to update your timeline!! It helps all of us when you do that!! I see you started one because you have the date you sent your I-129F listed. But you don't have your NOA1 or NOA2 dates noted anywhere but in your signature. We need your information for the VJ stats. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIt seems CSC has slowed down this week

Definitely feels like a slow week. I like to see post after post of approvals :)

Yeah...Me, too...Who doesn't? At least doing the timeline search helps me from feeling totally discouraged, though. I see some movement, even if it's not as much as before.

Here's hoping for better things next week... :thumbs:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIt seems CSC has slowed down this week
Arazia is right. It's not exactly the riptide that we saw before, but there are approvals coming through at both CSC and VSC this week. Many people simply haven't been announcing. Do the timeline search. I'm actually addicted to it. I perform one several times an hour, as ridiculous as that may sound! :blush:

Then I fill in the stats myself on Gary's downloadable Word version of the CSC numbers, as well as in my own Vermont spreadsheet. Helps me feel a little less sad. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresjust curious....
I know I recently read something about the fact that it's pretty common for the validity of NOA1s to be extended, but I can now no longer remember if you need to fill out a form to do that or if the consulate does it without being told. I'm sure someone here has the answer. You should have an enlightened response soon. :)

In the meantime, would you mind filling in your official timeline by clicking on the "My Assistant" link just below the blue VJ navigation bar above and to the right? Once you click on that link, you can choose to "Add/Edit Timeline." Putting your information in there will help us all since VJ compiles statistics from the information and experience of its members. The more people whose information is included, the more accurate and helpful the stats will be! :D

One favor to ask...Could you update your timeline fully? Your NOA1 date isn't showing, so your info can't be compiled correctly into VJs stats. Correctly updated info will help us all! :)

Thanks!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresINFOPASS APPT. WTF?!! GRRRR!!!

I just got back from my Infopass appointment. I finally get up to the window and I tell the guy I'm looking for more info than the CSC phone line people can provide. I then tell him I have access to the web and can access my case status and USCIS processing times just fine, last time I called USCIS all they could seem to do was get online and read my case status and the processing times over the phone. :angry: He saw I had my NOA1 notice with me and asked for it. I told him it's been almost 5 months and I was trying to figure out when they might process my petition. He looked at my notice and said my NOA1 date is what they will use to determine processing order. I said well I know of people who filed in July and already have approval. So then he says "Ok would you like me to check the computer for you?" I said sure. So he gets on and says so you responded to the RFE that was sent, I said yes. So then he prints his screen and goes back to talk to his supervisor for a few minutes. Then he comes back and tells me that my RFE receipt date is my new NOA1 date!!! To which I reponded "HOLY #######!!!" I noticed he winced a little when I said that, I think he was bracing for a little tirade :lol: . But, why shoot the messenger? :lol: Then I said well at least I know now (maybe lol). Then he says for me to expect 3 to 6 months processing time from my new NOA1 date which is 7/24/06! #######???!!! :huh: I said well since I know of people who filed in July that are approved now I will just hope that means ours is coming soon. :blink:

Un-f%$@ing-believable!!! Didn't USCIS announce just in the last month or so that they are now NO LONGER using RFE dates as NOA1 dates? Once again, USCIS proves that they can do whatever the hell they want whenever it happens to be convenient for THEM!!! You handled yourself incredibly well at that office today. I think I would have just broken down in tears. May your NOA2 be VERY quick to arrive. If anyone deserves to be on the "Should be approved for good behavior and positive attitude ALONE!" list, it would be you...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTimeline Percentages

It would help if you would post your methodology.

I'll glad that you're allowed to post here. When I do my stats, they seem to get moved off to a corner of VJ - often to consulates or USCIS. I hope this post doesn't get moved.

I also share the concern about the March, April, May and June folks who have not yet been cleared. While a few many have an RFE that has not been returned, I suspect that almost all have done all they should, and do not deserve to still be waiting. I hope they are ALL cleared in the new few weeks.

Tom

I can tell you my methodology. It's straightforward, basic math...

From Gary's new list this morning, I counted the total number of listed cases for each month. Then I counted the total number of cleared cases for each month. I then divided the number of cleared cases for a given month by the number of total cases for that same month to arrive at a percentage of cleared cases.
Kirsten LNot TellingFrance2006-09-30 12:33:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTimeline Percentages

Is that compiled from VJ timleines or Gary's list. Gary weeds out all the duplications and members who have not been active / abandoned VJ.

The stats are slowly getting better for March and April. :D

:yes: Gary's List. I just take what he's complied and do the math for percentages.

Hmmm...I'm getting different numbers than you...

If we're talking about the list posted this morning, I get the following, more encouraging percentages for approvals:

March=85.9%
April=87.5%
May=76.4%
June=52.7%
July=58.8%
August=16.6%

I've double-counted to be sure of my numbers. Are you sure you're using the list for this week? The one that was just released this morning, jasal...? :unsure:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTHIS IS ABSOLUTLY UNACCEPTABLE AND ABSURD!!!

I've had it, I can't take it any more!

Look at E&K's Timeline!

May 1996: Met in Mexico
March 7th, 2006: Sent 129F to NSC
March 9th, 2006: NOA1
June 15th, 2006: Notice of transfer to CSC
June 20th, 2006: Last touch
I want my RFE!!!!!!!!!

March 7th and still no RFE ??? I have read some of this members post and I am SHOCKED! We all need to band together and do something - any suggestions what we could all band together and do?

TucsonBill,

A few of us are already working on ways to bring attention to profound problems within the current system USCIS is using. If you're interested, you can contact me about it via PM or email. Oddly, a lot of people say they want to do something, but then don't seem to really budge...

I've been writing letters. I've also been exploring means to get wider media attention. True enough that the more of us that are focusing our efforts, the more people are likely to sit up and take notice.

The current system not only propagates lengthy and unnecessary delays, but charges unnecessary fees and compromises national security. There's nothing good about it. Change has been needed for some time, but while everyone seems to talk alot about it, no one ever does anything. The Ombudsman reports, and the increasing level of frustration they indicate, are proof positive. Unfortunately, that same apathy seems to exist at the customer level. "Just sit and wait. Everyone has to. It'll all be over some day." That's not good enough for me. It shocks me again and again that it seems to be good enough for so many. And as I've said repeatedly now...If you think the petition phase is bad, wait till you see what's coming with AOS...It's gonna get much worse...

You should be just fine. Don't panic. :) It's just a guideline, that measurement.

On a personal note, I've spent time at Mildenhall. A friend of mine was stationed at the base as a psychologist. I was on base several times over the last two or three years when I would skip across the Channel from Paris to visit she and her husband for holidays and whatnot. Happy memories... :)

Joseph...

I think you might want to consult with a good immigration lawyer at this point. Fair or not, I'd say there will be flags going up all over the place for USCIS and the DOS if you try again...

Out of curiousity, what makes you think this one is going to be different? Sounds like you've had some disastrous luck with Eastern European women...

Didn't I see, within the last couple of weeks, that someone was compiling a VSC spreadsheet similar to the ones Gary has compiled for the CSC? I have been looking and looking this evening, but can't find the post I think I remember...I'm thoroughly mystified... :unsure:

FANTASTIC!!! Looks like a bunch of CSC Marchers are finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow today. I'm delighted for you that you're among them. May the next steps be much quicker and simpler than these were. May you and your partner be reunited very soon.

And yes, there is a God. He does stuff like that for me all the time...when I least expect it. I think He uses our circumstances to help us grow in faith and wisdom, but that He also delights in surprising us and making himself real to us in ways we wouldn't expect.
