IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen to send DS 3032 to NVC
QUOTE (A_I_S @ Aug 20 2008, 11:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Is it possible to email the DS 3032 now or should we really wait for the bill to be generated and how long does it take on average?

NVC - NVC Timesavers, Emailing your DS-3032, Knowing your Case Number
Suggestions

* Once the USC receives the AOS (I-864) Bill and the copy of the DS-3032 one can save time by emailing or faxing a copy of the DS-3032 Choice of Agent form to the beneficiary overseas who then selects the agent, signs the form and returns it to the address on the form. Doesn't save much but it saves the mailing time from NVC to the spouse.

* Have the beneficiary (now the applicant) fill out the DS-230 and send it to the USC if they are to be the agent....this can be done at any time before the DS-230 is generated at NVC. Once it is generated it will be sent to the agent, the signed copy with the cover sheet (that the agent will receive) which has the barcode can then be mailed to NVC.

* Have the beneficiary (now the applicant) forward any documents, photocopies etc that may be required to be submitted with the DS-230 to you ahead of time. Check out the Department of State website HERE
Scroll down and select the Instructions for Visa Immigrant Applicant appropriate for the country of your spouse. Forms are also available there for you to download but please check to see if they are the latest version.

* Complete the I-864 which is also available in the above link for download. When NVC generates this form it comes to you with a barcode cover sheet which you will then need to return along with your completed I-864 form.

IMPORTANT
Familiarise yourself with the NVC PROCESS & FLOWCHART for an Immigrant Visa so you know the order in which forms will be generated and what is sent to the USC (petitioner) and your spouse (beneficiary/applicant) to be completed.

NVC Automated Voice Response Service
So your I-130 petition has been approved and forwarded to NVC
Now you are wanting to know if it has been received and a case number assigned
You can use your CIS (NOA) receipt number from your approval to find out.
On calling the NVC automated voice response number (603) 334-0700 you will.... press 1 for English press 2 for Spanish
press 1 for information about your immigrant visa
It will then ask you if you know your CIS receipt number.....press 1
(Once you have a case number you can use this.....press 2)
You then follow the instructions to key in your number.
If will then tell you if NVC has received the petition, and assigned a number.

This automated service is available 24/7.
Once you have your case number you can call them at any time to hear any updates on your case, using either the NVC case number or your CIS (NOA) receipt number.

Choice of Agent
Many are having success in emailing the NVC to choose their agent in place of mailing the DS-3032. NVC generally sends a confirmation email within a couple of days. If not you will need to call to confirm that it has been accepted.

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Make sure to put your NVC assigned Case Number in the subject/title box.

Example for body of email:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re the subject line case number

My name is (put full name),
I have not received my DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) form and I would like to appoint my husband/wife as my choice of agent.

QUOTE (sgr @ Aug 23 2008, 05:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was wondering whether NVC accepts Certified/Notarized copies of originals from INDIA(birth, marriage &police certificates) with DS230.Any had success with submiting notarized copies?

for DS-230, you need to submit all originals (civil documents), only the geographic page of the passport would be photocopied. dont worry, everything will be returned to you when you ask for them at the embassy. just ask them for your originals and then the people from the USEM will make copies of it and return the original documents to you, this is a standard procedure when the beneficiary asks for the docs back.

i was told the same thing. my case was completed 15th of august and when i called yesterday, they told me to call thursday or friday next week (august 11th or 12th) to check if i qualified for an october interview, that's why im keeping my fingers crossed and my faith strong. i can't wait till it's time for me to call..i wish the days would go by swiftly, hahaha...

just hang in there, we all have been through the whole ordeal ourselves sgr...patience and prayer, it will keep your sanity, lol, waiting for your interview date will be a brief wait compared to the months of agony you have been through with the whole process. good.gif ..to cheer you up, look back on the whole experience, i'm sure it'll give you something to smile about..

I think people are over doing it. Copy of the orignal documnet is more than enough. If your languge for example is arabic, then they will need the arabic verision not the engilish one. Come on people please do not let our life more hard.

Birth certificates
Each applicant will need to obtain an original birth record (or a certified copy
of the original, obtained from the issuing government authority).

The certificate must contain the:
• Person’s date of birth
• Person’s place of birth
• Names of both parents, and
• Annotation by the appropriate authority indicating that it is an extract from
the official records

Translations
All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in
which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified
translations.

The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states
that the:
• Translation is accurate, and
• Translator is competent to translate.

this however does not mean you only submit the translation, you need to submitted the translated form too.

Because my husband didn't file taxes for the year 2005, 2006. And for the year 2007 he started working from august, so even though his overall yearly income is above poverty line, his taxes has been less than poverty line for the year 2007.

i see, now i understand why there's a need for joint sponsor. just make sure the joint sponsor's ITR/IRS, W2 and paystubs are included in the packet you'll be mailing to NVC. be sure to make copies for you to keep and for you to send the beneficiary (though not necessary but it pays to be OVERLY prepared) if she needs it. don't worry about the paystubs being 2 months old, as long as there's a letter from his/her employer (employment letter) on company stationary accompany the rest of the documents you are to send.

So we are finally ready to send our papers to NVC. Took some time with the joint sponsor, arranging papers in order when you rely on someone else is kind of cumbersome.

Anyways the work letter and joint sponsor's pay stubs are around 2 months old, will that work or we have to get new ones? I kind of dont' want to disturb the already frustrated joint sponsor.

My hubby will submit recent pay stubs and 1 week old issued work letter. His current income is above the poverty line if that matters.

why do you need a joint sponsor when your husband's income is above poverty line? if he files taxes, has a good job with good pay, bank account, then i don't think needing a joint sponsor is necessary. have you checked the current poverty guidelines?

i guess they really dig into where you have lived since birth. i lived with my family before, then i moved out after getting married since my husband bought a house (still in cebu). so i wrote in my DS 230 form my address before, when i started living there (my birth date) and until when i lived there (the month and year i moved out), then 2nd, my current address and from when i lived here then i put below TO line august 2008 (since it was the month we submitted our DS 230 form). no RFEs..whew.. happy.gif plus i added additional pages for those blanks where my answers can't fit like the address boxes which were too small..

it would have been better (though i'm not saying this might bring an RFE coz i'm not sure what are the basis they issue one) that you placed where you lived 11years prior to living where you are right now. placing N/As on areas approprite is a MUST so as not to give any confusion to the people handling your documents. i remember, we got an RFE for our I-864 since we didn't put N/A in some items marked OPTIONAL.. unsure.gif ..so since that, i thought it's better to play safe, RFEs are frustrating.. eb0dfafc.gif

i know it's kinda frustrating thinking that you have an RFE coming and the scheduling for next month's interview will be this week.. ClockWatch2.gif
do you any idea what the RFE is about so that you guys can prepare what needs to be mailed back to NVC? if not, call them ASAP and let your husband talk to someone so he can ask about it. then, when the RFE does arrive you can immediately mail it back the same day through a courier service. that way, maybe you can buy time to be able to get a possible interview this october.

i really wanna tell you not to worry but i can't stop you from feeling that way..i guess worrying is part of the whole immigration process package. eb0dfafc.gif

My case was complated on August 27th.
How to check if our documents will be forwarded to the consulate where we will have interview.
Please give advice,
thanks in advance.

YES, they do assign interviews on the 2nd week of each month. my case got approved 15th of august and i'm scheduled for an october 3rd interview. they have already sent the approved documents to some local embassies worldwide. since you got approved before the monthly deadline, there may be a chance an interview was set (but this i'm not sure). try to call NVC and talk to a live operator and inquire about your case. have your NVC case number ready with petitioner and beneficiary's name and date of birth too. i knew my interview schedule when my husband informed me after he called NVC.

to check if your local embassy has recieved any documents from NVC, go to the DHL homepage and track through REFERENCE. key in: EXP 08 SEP 2008A. then press track. a list will appear then see if your country is amongst those that recieved the documents from NVC already.

hope i helped out..PM me if you need any more info and if i can provide it, ill gladly answer them..god bless..TC

2 DVs?? what's up with this? i thought they clearly said:
In order to avoid unnecessary delay in the visa issuance process, the U.S. Embassy in Manila strongly encourages applicants in the categories mentioned above to pay the document verification fee prior to their immigrant visa interview. Payment can be made through any Metrobank location. The cost of the document verification is PhP 650 per applicant.

did this happen to other members under CR1/IR1, K3 visa category? if anyone when through the same ordeal, please confirm?

The pink slip is actually instructions to pay Delbros and by no means that it is a document approving your visa. However, receiving only the pink slip is a good indication that both your papers are in order and the interview went well. Chances are your visa will be delivered soon. You should call the embassy from time to time to follow-up the status of your visa. Be patient. Most of us are also waiting for our visas but are being lagged due to the notorious DV. good.gif

i have read countless post about delays on visa delivery due to DV. however, NOT everyone seem to have this concern. i recently came across a conversation with a friend who went through the USEM just like we all did. she was NOT aware of the DV, have not paid DV but got her visa in a matter of 3 days..as for me, i was interviewed october 3rd and the CO never made mention of DV and did not even bother to ask for my receipt (metrobank receipt). although the USEM clearly stated on their interview instruction on the importance of DV for visa issuance, i guess not all CO pays close attention to this, from the very beginning of our petition we have submitted all ORIGINALS (NSO authenticated) and just when i was about to be interviewed, i secure another set of originals thinking they might need it, but no they never did neither the DV..

this depends on how long until your petition will be approved and if there are still interview slots for november. they usually make interview scheds 2nd week of every month for the following month. if i'm mistaken, they are on the process of scheduling interviews for november this week just as they did last month for october interviews. plus, you have to consider that the US election is fast approaching, though i'm not sure it will affect the visa processing in the local embassies worldwide but let's just say, there might be a little backlog..though i hope there wouldn't.

to reunite with your family this christmas would be great but i don't wanna get your hopes high, just follow-up with NVC by calling them and pray..

the interview is the FINAL stage of your visa process. this is a very crucial requirement for visa approval. denial on IR1 interviews are rare (so far i haven't seen many of it around)..but indeed some are denied or undergoes AR for reasons of suspected fraud marriages just to acquire a US visa. YOU CAN AVOID DENIAL by being honest. if your marriage is genuine and of pure intentions, then there's no need to worry. your ability to communicate in english is NOT grounds for whatsoever denial..as long as they see that you're telling them the truth, don't worry about a thing.

but they do ask prior to administering the oath if you can understand english and if you need a translator..(if this info helps ease your worry unsure.gif )

Ok thank you for the info..I have 1 Folder and inside that folder are Appointment letter,Affidavit of Support,DS-230,NBI/Police clearance,Marriage/Birth cert. then in my BINDER that me and my wife created are Remittances receipts, phone calls, boarding pass/itineraries tickets, receipts what we purchase together,emails,letters/cards,pictures, and all other stuff of proof of relationship..thats why it so very thick because I put all the proof of evidence of our relationship..is this really helpful? or they will only collect some other pictures with me..

it's actually a case to case basis on what documents they'd wanna ask from you (either the prescreener or CO). the documents you have at hand as of the moment ate sufficient enough for me to say you're all set, i also brought the same stuffs with me during my interview last october 3rd. but there was one thing they ONLY asked from me, this was my marriage index (CENOMAR) indicating that i have ONLY been married once and it was with my petitioner (my husband).

so far, in the VJ regional (PI regional) group, i was the only beneficiary asked for this (so far..) so there's no need to be alarmed. maybe my case was unique and just one time, again, it depends on the CO what documents he/she wants, so be prepared.

Hello! thank you for the reply... Yes im kinda nervous now because i am thinking for my interview tomorrow, in my other side I feel excited, i am bit nervous coz I dont want to disappoint my wife thats why I want to passed in my interview, my wife is doing a lot for this and I myself thinking of this interview coz I want to give a best shot for this.. In my case today i am fixin all what to bring fot tomorrows interview, I have a thick album here, any suggestions? on how can I arrange everything so that I can easily showed to consul all the important docs and proof of relationship..Thank you so much...

what documents do you have so we can review which one you're missing..don't bother putting the pictures in an album coz they will only ask for few. just have at least pics from special occasions, pics with family (with children if there are), pics prior to getting married..those kind of pics and just place them in a neat envelop so you can hand them easily to the precreener or CO once they ask for it.

COME PREPARED
i guess that's the only thing one has to do during his/her interview date. have all possible documents needed, be calm when prescreener or CO interviews you. answer without doubt and pray..lots of it.. good.gif

but don't pressure yourself too much, think positive and as i always advise people out here, stay focused..passing the interview without AR or re-interview is our main objective this very day so do your best coz it's frustrating to look back on something thinking, "aww, i should have done better..." or maybe "ahh..i should have said this or that..."...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresdid you get this from nvc when you sent an email to them
true, that's an autoresponse. this confirms that NVC has received your mail/inquiry. if this is for the DS 3032 (Choice of Agent), in a week you will receive another confirmation email that they did receive your Choice of Agent through email, but if this is for inquiry, they will send you a response in 15 days.

Hi guyz, I am new here. It's nice to see your posts. I am still waiting for my K1 petition to get approved. My hubby sent it last june 08 and we got the receipt dated 06-18-08. Until now, we don't hear any update from CSC.
I am glad to hear the success of many couples here. You are giving us hope. good.gif

We didn't get any lawyer to process our papers. We just read the guidelines online. I hope to know some infos about your visa process so that we will know the exact thing to do. star_smile.gif

Good things are worth waiting for. Just can't deny the fact that we really miss our partners.
Can't wait any longer. crying.gif

God bless us all!

K1 application? hmm, your hubby sent it?
if he's your husband already, why are you applying for K1? unsure.gif just confused...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescrba and passport
hi mahinhin..
i too went through CRBA with our son..NO DNA, my husband wasn't with me during our son's CRBA appointment too.
but despite that, i just aswered all the COs questions honestly and presented him all the docs he needed.
we got approved..

personally, i'd say it would have beenbetter if you went to your OB right after you knew you were pregnant, they really dig deep on this matter..even to a point of asking when did you think you got pregnant (at least i was asked this during our son's appointment). just don't get intimidated during the interview..

secure all docs you think you'll need. make sure you have everything you think can prove biological ties between your child and your hubby, this is very crutial in proving parentage of USC.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCRI-Have child in India or USA
QUOTE (Chittu and Piya @ Nov 4 2008, 12:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
All, I have a question. My wife has a CRI visa and she just came into the country in September. We are now pregnant with our first child, the question is , Do we deliver the child here or in India? What are the consequences of having the child in India? Say we do decide to deliver the child in India, do I have to file a K visa for our child? What is the deal?

i'd say deliver the baby in US..why go through all the hassle in filling the CRBA when you're wife is already there in the US? if she delivers there, the baby becomes USC automatically by virtue of being born in US soil. if you decide to deliver the baby in india, the CRBA takes time to process sinc there are documents which need to be furnished before the US embassy in india issues the US passport and CRBA certificate to the child.

i am giving first hand infos here since we too underwent CRBA with our son's birth in PI. even if we're from different countries, the process is standard in all embassies..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPOE Hawaii and my wifes horriable travel via Hawaiian Air
this is sad..but lemme ask you rmncm..when you booked the flight for your wife, did you pre-choose her seat? when i did booked my flight through hawaiian airlines, i did choose my seat from manila to hawaii and then from hawaii to las vegas and i ain't on the rear end..

i have yet to travel with them (hawaiian airlines) this 10th of november..that's why this post came as a shock to me..i have flown through cathay pacific, PAL and NWA..some good, some not but i guess my only consolation this time is that ill finally be with the one i love..

after all we're blessed compared to others who up until now is still stuck waiting for the DV.. cray5ol.gif
but i'm glad you're wife arrived safely..
god bless you both..and your little angel too..
