PhilippinesI-130 processing time
QUOTE (Arlyn M @ Oct 30 2008, 11:15 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hello i am just a member on this site, i just wanna ask how many months will you wait when you process I-130?i am curious about it..pls. do reply thank you its my first time on this forum...thank you....and i want more friends also, i am from cebu

first let me welcome you to VJ! innocent.gif

the timeline in processing I-130 varies on how quick the service center and NVC works on your case before they forward it to the US embassy in manila. but the usual timelines play around 6-9months (this is a realistic timeframe) but there were some who got approved in just 3 months time. the accuracy of submitting the documents needed to facilitate the processing of your visa matters since RFEs cause so much delays as well. you can browse through timelines of members with similar visa category as yours for more infos and you can as well post queries in the forum board to cater to your other questions.

BTW, i'm from cebu too.. whistling.gif

PhilippinesWaiting for the delivery of visa, whats the best thing to do?
shopping!
hmm, at least that's what i did when i waited for my visa which took a couple of weeks to arrive..
but judging on your post, you're a HE right?
maybe spend time with your friends, play ball, or maybe go out for a treking trip, camping..you know, things which can be entertaining and at the same time challenging enough to take your mind off of the whole "when will my visa arrive" thinking moments.

but you can always hang around here at VJ, we're family here..
may visa o wala, nagdadamayan kami dito happy.gif

you can track the packet from NVC to USEM through the DHL website. track by reference. i guess you can find posts on this from the PI thread..just try to browse through, i forgot how i did it, sorry.. blush.gif

anyways, good luck on your upcoming interview!

i guess the best thing you can do is call USEM and ask the operator to connect you to the immigrant visa section (since K visas are processed here as well). ask them about this concern coz they can better answer this query...

have you check the airlines about the plane they will use to LV, kasi if meron ka BBB , ikaw mismo carry to another gate sa Hawaii, but if suit case lng madali hilahin di ba..

Hi MJ! am bringing about 2 big books and 3 small ones + original CD reviewers. I am leaving the burned CDs as I was warned already,LOL, all NCLEX reviewers too. But luckily they are all originals since they were sent to me from US. What am thinking is the 'Saunders'? I bought it here but published in US? isn't it there's an issue published in the Phils? Do u think this will be confiscated? I also have one local from Gapuz, do u think this is allowed? sayang naman if kukunin, iwan ko nlng sa cousin ko magagamit nya pa.

Yay! good luck sa exam. smile.gif

i really have no idea on this, that's why i'm getting worried myself..the inputs are really different from each post, i'm thinking of leaving the PI published books and bringing the books from US (fedex by hubby from US)..that way, it's safer.

hmm..about the gapuz reviewers, i don't think it's wise if you bring them, i mean, i'm no expert but it's best to play safe right..
iwan mo nalang, i also called my cuz in LA and she said there are tons of books (newer versions pa) NCLEX sa library available locally so i really don't have to worry..

i guess i'm down to bring 3 books in my bbb and 1 book on my handcarry so i wont get bored with the long flight..

I will say Hawaii is a friendly airport for me.. I've been there once last year and noticed a lot of filipinos.. The only dilemma here is when you have a lot hand carry stuff. Try to limit your hand carry and put everything underneath the plane. As much as possible less stuff for handcarry especially if you have stop over in different place.. If the flight is direct okay lang but still, pumila ka ng maraming dala eh napakahirap.

Even you bring all your favorite shoes, hindi mo rin lahat magagamit yan lahat, as there are madness sale in the US sometimes, and I am sure hindi mo maiiwasan hindi bumili kasi mura lang naman. Less clothes also as madali lang naman maglaba at magpatuyo dahil automatic ang mga gamit doon. 1 hour lang tuyo na ang damit mo.

Make sure that for everything you have in mind, dont forget important documentation in your handcarry..

I have been travelling a lot, so lesson learned na to be practical and not overpack.

Congratiulations and goodluck.

thank you 'completely'.. innocent.gif
i didn't bring all of my shoes, i just brought 8 shoes, 5 sandals and 5 flip-flops..i'm NOT a kikay on other stuffs, shoes lang naman addiction ko. i have like more or less 70 pairs of shoes and 30 pairs or sandals and 15 flip-flops blush.gif ..
pero yun nalang dinala ko, i had to give everything away..ang carry-on ko naman would only consist of my purse, jacket and visa packet..so basically i'm not overpacked!! yeheey! hehehehe..

thank you , thank you soooo much for the inputs..i really appreciate it! good.gif

What happens next at the NVC after the both the AOS and the IV fee bill are paid with money order?

after paying the Affidavit of Support, it will a week or two before you'd recieve your AOS instruction packet. YOU (Petitioner) will have to comply all the needed documents required upon submitting your AOS to NVC to avoid any RFE. same a pplies to DS-230, wait a week or two, this time, your wife/husband (Beneficiary) will have to fill out this form since his/her original signature is needed. but take note (DS-230) -- SIGN ONLY PART ONE, since part 2 will be signed infront of a CO at the USEM where he/she will be interview.

QUOTE (AVISA @ Aug 22 2008, 07:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Do they send us some packet or will they complete the case after review. I read up on the guide but found it little confusing and wanted opinions from all of you.

THEY WILL NOT SEND PAPERS FOR YOU TO FILL-OUT...they only send instructions (that why they always refer to it as INSTRUCTION PACKET). you will have to download both AOS and DS-230 online and fill-out the form and submit it with the necessary documents. the REVIEW is done once you have submitted the forms. if all submitted documents are complete and forms all fill-out with the correct infos then theres no problem. if all instructions are followed then an RFE wont be expected.

dont be confuse, take a deep breath and understand the details so you wont commit mistakes. sometimes responses from other members might be contradicting, thats why somehow i understand the confusion. try to visit family base immigration .com. im sure you will find it helpful. NOT TOO MUCH CONFUSION THERE. hahahaha...you'll thank me later..

So do they send us the packet now and if so does anyone know in how many days after recieving the payments, and will the automatic response at NVC tell me if they have recieved the AOS & IV Fee Bill.

there wont be any AUTOMATIC mail response from NVC, you need to call them to know.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe CR1 processing is complete at the NVC...any ideas on the next process?

My husbands CR-1 processing was complete at the NVC on Aug. 13th.... kicking.gif
My first question: From your experiences, about how long before they send to the consulate?

CR1? how come your profile says beneficiary of a K3? you may want to change that just so to avoid confusion if you have any other future queries. well if you're on CR1 path, expect your papers to stay at NVC 2-4weeks (although the voice prompt say 6-8weeks). This is standard for IV (in which CR1/IR1 is under its category).

Second question: Once it is at the consulate, about how long generally before he receives his interview letter?

this depends on how reliable the mailing system is in the beneficiary's country. some mailing systems are slow, thereby adding to the agonizing wait. but you too will receive his interview packet, so no need to worry. you can scan the whole thing and email it to your hubby just in case his copy doesnt arrive on time.
