US Citizenship General Discussion	My journey is over :)	Finally...on Friday, May 30. I had my Oath Ceremony in Jefferson City, MO. Everything went very well and quick. There was 39 people from 22 different countries. After ceremony I was able to register as a voter and apply for US passport. I'm glad my USCIS journey is over, it took me a little less then 6 years from the begining....and 11 months N-400 itself . I wish to all who are still waiting....just hang on....you will get there..I know waiting is hard...but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Edited by Lexa, 01 June 2008 - 10:26 AM. Quisiera preguntarte sobre tu entrevista en la embajada de Madrid. Mi prometido va alli pronto, espero. Acabo de recibir mi NOA2 hoy via SMS. Gracias a Dios. Mi prometido habla muy poco inglés, hablamos solamente en español. Sería un problema en el consulado? Te trataron diferente por ser de otro país o por estar allí sin papeles anteriormente? Estoy preocupadita por la entrevista porque no quiero que nos negaran el visado. Me puedes ofrecer unos consejos? Hola! Mi entrevista (en ingles) en Madrid fue muy sencilla, no mas de 10 min, mi esposo estuvo conmigo, la CO era una chica joven muy guapa y muy dulce, al lado habia otra, mayorcita, con cara de "pocos amigos" jeje, pero tuve la suerte de que me toque con la mas dulce. Mejor si la entrevista es en español, si tu novio no habla muy bien inglés, es mejor que lo haga en español, he leido horrendas historias de gente a quienes negaron la visa por un simple malentendido, por una palabra mal dicha en la entrevista. Si él se siente mas cómodo, pues que sea en español. Bueno y algo que seria de gran ayuda, es que tu estes con él en la entrevista, Marruecos ahora esta negando muchos visados alla, quizas por ser en España sea diferente, espero que si, pero... es un país catalogado como de High Fraud Visas, si es que te es posible, seria muy bueno que hagas un esfuerzo para estar con tu novio en ese dia tan importante. Por ahora que vaya trabajando en su Scrapbook, chat logs, emails, fotos, calling cards, etc. Que se vaya tranquilo y lo mas relajado. Sí, hay varias autoescuelas- saca las páginas amarillas y podrás encontrar algo en tu ciudad. Si tienes carnet de conducir de España, no te resultará muy dificil. ¿Has estado alguna vez aqui? ¿Es dificil acostumbrarse aqui ó es un shock cultural? Yo soy de Bolivia aunque he vivido muchos años en Madrid. No tenia licencia de conducir, tengo que tomar clases para aprender jeje. Tanto en Madrid como en mi país nunca necesité un coche, pero aqui es un MUST, si o si tenemos que conducir, en Madrid el sistema de transporte es uno de los mejores del mundo, especialmente el Metro. Si, estoy esperando que me llegue mi SSN y luego me pongo a clases para sacar la Driver´s licence. La diferencia aqui es muy grande en relación a Madrid, ya estaba muy acostumbrada a vivir en una ciudad tan grande, según mi esposo es como NY pero un poco mas pequeño. Es una ciudad que nunca duerme y mi vida era una carrera. Me despertaba con el ruido de los coches o la gente caminando en las calles, o las obras por todas partes; aqui me despierto con el sonido de los pajaritos o de unos patos que vienen x las mañanas a una pequeña lagunita artificial en la subdivisión. Ademas, hacia MUUUCHOS AÑOS QUE NO VEIA UN MOSQUITO jeje. Veo que tu novio es musulman? él es español o es nacionalizado? hay muchisimos musulmanes en madrid, especialmente de Morocco. Llegué hace poco y necesito hablar españooool!	hola, el sello vale por un anio porque la GC puede demorar como maximo 1 anio en llegarte, aunque por lo general demora semanas. ya eres casada asi que no tienen que casarse aqui. tu matrimonio tiene validez en cualquier parte del mundo. ahora si estas hablando de una ceremonia religiosa es diferente. pero no por el civil, ya estan casados por el civil. cada ciudad tienen lugares donde puedes aprender a conducir. felicidades y bienvenida!!!! Oh de verdad con mi esposo pensamos que teniamos que casarnos de nuevo aqui! O es que hay que registrarlo o algo? yo me casé en el consulado de mi país en España. No estoy segura de eso. He llegado hace 2 semanas con mi CR-1 visa, vivo en Missouri, y tengo unas preguntas... En mi pasaporte esta mi visado por 1 año, ya me llegó mi Welcome letter con mi numero de Green Card (aun no me llega la tarjeta y tampoco la SSN que espero me llegue la proxima semana) Tengo entendido que con la visa CR-1 nos dan 2 años green card, porque en el pasaporte solo vale x 1 año? Alguien sabe como es el proceso para casarse en Missouri y cuanto cuesta y cuanto tarda? Aunque yo soy de Bolivia me casé en España y tenemos que casarnos aqui, tengo la impresión que yo soy la casada aqui y mi esposo es soltero todavia, jejeje. No conduzco y tengo que sacar my Driver´s licence. Hay lugares donde aprender a conducir? son caros? A todas las que ya estan aqui les deseo una vida llena de bendiciones con sus esposos y a las que siguen en proceso, que sean positivas y le pidan a Diosito cada noche por sus visas aprobadas.
