K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with "Employment" section of G325A form (Beneficiary)
Thank you for your replies. smile.gif

However, I was reading the "Tips" thread foud here:
The RFE Master List

And Aussiewench wrote the following:
"If that was me I would put the main job and then perhaps a reference to an attachment and on the attachment put the second part time job.
Its just that there has been RFE's for overlaps and gaps in timeframes, so IMO best to include an attachment as opposed to overlapping on the form.
Perhaps someone else has a better solution."

From what it sounds like to me is she's saying that people have been getting them when there is a gap or overlapping in their residence or employment. Did I misunderstand? I've heard this from other sources so I'm rather worried about it. I'd like to avoid an RFE if I can help it. Has anyone heard anything else about this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with "Employment" section of G325A form (Beneficiary)
We need some help filling the "Employment" section of my G325A biographic information form. I am the beneficiary and I am registered to work in one job but I also have a additional part-time job and do some consulting work. I understand that jobs CANNOT overlap when you write them down on the form so a "supplemental sheet" must be included to explain the circumstances. Is it really necessary to include all my employment information? Must I include my part time job and consulting or does my primary job suffice? If I must then how do we format the supplemental sheet and what information do we include? For example, do we have to write down all my employment information again or do we just include the information we did not write down in the actual application form? Can anyone share a sample sheet or is there a sample available somewhere that we can access? We are trying to eliminate any mistakes, if possible, so any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance. star_smile.gif

Only you need to sign the letter

Only you as in the USC?

Yes, the person submitting the petition. That would be the USC.

I was reading K-1 Fiance Visa: Tips on Forms and Documents

"The following items may make your life easier and help you get a little sleep at night :-) :

Make sure that your "original statement of having met in person" (you and your fiance should write one) is signed by hand in ink by each person and not just typed. You should ask your fiance to write this when you are first starting work on the I-129F since it will likely take them a few days to do this and and even longer for them to mail to you (international mail can be slow if sent at the standard speed).

I am curious, really. I do not mean to be rude or anything, but I would like to know where you got this erroneous information? Certainly not on this website. I hear so many different BS stories which are told to people in this process and I am always curious to find out exactly how this happens, and you are the second one today to ask this same question. Please help me.

Yes, you can do it and it would not be illegal since she did not plan that when she entered US, but nobody will advise you to do it this quick. Getting married soon after entering is not goot for AOS process, you might have problems.

Relax, you have nothing to worry about. See a doctor and have him confirm that she is pregnant and will have the shots waived for now. USCIS will accept that, go with the process, and she will receive the shots after she has a baby. Enjoy your new life! Congratulations!

Hi everyone,

I hate to do this, and I know that the general consensus is that if you have a question to simply read the guides and and FAQ's before posting a generic question, but I have spent the last few days going over this website (which btw has a TON of knowledge everywhere!) but every time I get to a point where I'm like:

"Yeah, that's the right move for me!"

Someone else says something to totally make me second guess and not make me very confident in that particular path. So I guess I'll just share my situation with the whole world and take in whatever advice I can. I'm thinking that my Fiancee and I aren't the only ones who are trying to make this happen and I've see a few of the successful stories (Congrats to each of you) and I'm hoping that I can get some good solid advice to accomplish the same thing.

Here we go:

Me: American Citizen who resides in Wisconsin.
Her: Canadian Citizen who resides in Toronto.

I have been separated for quite some time from a previous marriage (married waaaay young, deployed to Iraq with my Marine unit and decided to stay married during the deployment to better provide for her), so I know that obviously I need to have that wrapped up which will not be a problem and should be wrapped up by the end of December.

In the meantime I've met "Kitten" from Toronto and we have been in this long distance relationship for the past 8 months and I have flown up to Toronto and she has flown down here quite a few times.

Against all the sense in the world, we've decided to get married and have her move down here to live with me. Hopefully I don't get someone to reply to this in a snide way and judge me for what appears to be a irrational decision, because we have spent a lot of time discussing this and we aren't a bunch of teenagers. Helpful advice please!

What we need to accomplish:

1. Speed. (of course, right?)
2. She needs to have the ability to earn an income in the US.
3. She would like to be able to fly back and visit her family in Canada.
4. She does have a BA. (not sure if that helps anything at all?)

I work in law enforcement with the US Federal Justice department, so I cannot have anything go wrong that would affect my career as well. I am also with the US military, with the Marines, so if I can get any added benefits from that, please advise.

If you need any more information from me I will get it to you asap.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hey Bulldog,

No snide comments here. I was in the same type of situation...except reversed. I'm from just outside of Toronto and my wife is a US citizen in MN. We went through the process about 7-8 years ago and lots has changed since then.

You probably can't do much until your divorce is final. Then you will likely want to apply for a K1. The bad news is that noting about immigration is particularily fast. Kitten won't have any problem going back to Canada for visits. I go back all the time. Her K1 will allow her multiple entries to the US.

She will need to go to Montreal for her immigration interview.

There is a Canada section on the VJ website where you can find lots of people who have gone through or are in the process of going through immigration. They'll have more recent info than I have.

Best of luck to you and kitten. It may take time but it'll pay off in the end.

Ka

Change of Filing Location for Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)
August 12th, 2010
by VJ News

WASHINGTON – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced a change in filing location instructions and addresses for the Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) (Form I-129F). The new instructions, dated 6/14/10, are part of an overall effort to transition the intake of forms from Service Centers to USCIS Lockbox facilities. Centralizing form and fee intake to a Lockbox environment allows USCIS to provide customers with more efficient and effective initial processing of applications/petitions and fees.

Beginning Aug. 3, 2010 all Form I-129F petitions being filed by a U.S. citizen on behalf of a fiancé(e) or spouse must be submitted to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox facility.

For U.S. Postal Service:

USCIS
PO Box 660151
Dallas, TX 75266

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067

Detailed guidance can be found in the updated Form I-129F instructions online at www.uscis.gov (click on the Forms tab).

The Vermont and California Service Centers will forward incorrectly filed petitions to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox for a period of 45 days until Sept. 17, 2010. After Sept. 17, 2010, petitions and fees submitted at the Service Centers will be returned to the applicant, with a note advising them of the correct filing location.

Applicants filing a form at a USCIS Lockbox facility may elect to receive an e-mail and/or text message notifying them that their petition has been accepted by completing Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance, and attaching it to the first page of their application.

For more information on USCIS programs, visit www.uscis.gov or call the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI called USCIS for the first time today

Oh and just a quick question, when he called yesterday, did they actually put in a "service request" for him, or did they tell him he was still outside of the normal processing time. If you got the RFE today maybe it was a result of a "service request." Hm, just wondering.

I'm sure your RFE is just something very small, don't worry too much just get what they ask for and get it back to them, then your NOA2 should be just around the corner! Good luck to both of you.

my fiance said... They just said it was within the normal processing time
and they did nto give us a service request number

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE After 5 Months?

Hi Everyone,

I just received a RFE notfication from the USCIS. :( This is after they have been sitting on it for 5 months. I suppose this is the first time that they have reviewed my case. Does anyone have any experience of how long it typically takes after the USCIS receives the requested information to approve? Would my file go back to the end of the list or would they review it right away? I wonder what more information they need from me.....

Back to waiting......

same with me here..just got RFE..let's put it on bright side..they looked on our case once we know what we need we should hurry and hopefully not more than april we will get the NOA2

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp! Getting Married Just before leaving on K1 visa

Moving from K-1 Progress to K-1 Process. Welcome to VJ. :)

can I ask you something..is it necessary for 'higher' member like you to really leave comment when you move a topic to the right place? I think it almost annoying to see a smarty pants just leaving comments like that and not even try to answer the question on the topic.. sorry no offense but I saw many comments like that often on many topics. so cold hearted for people who really check the topic every sec to get the right answer.. thank you

Anyway for SCJPAM:
You better not to do that because then you will violate the k1 visa. then you have to lie on POE then if you get caught its not only give trouble to your self and your future life but also many phillipinos who try to marry americans later. they will consider that your country is high rated for scam.

how about just have a party (just like farewell party) between your family and friends without getting married there. ( I assume you mean that you want to getting married legally in your country, right?)

Theoretically, you only have one original of your divorce decree. A "Certified True Copy" is simply a copy of your divorce decree which is stamped and embossed with the courthouse's seal. You can get the certified true copy from the courthouse you filed your divorce for a nominal fee. I got 3 copies myself at $15.00 per copy. One copy I sent with the I-129F, one copy for my I-129F duplicate, and one for future use. I hope this helps...Posted Image
