Getting it done at St. Lukes is the way to go since it is local for you. Later in the US the cost will depend upon your SO insurance plan.

Advice on this:

Get there early, I mean be in line before 8am. Have your passport, certified copies of divorce decree from any previous marriage(s) (you'll need this also for your PH Marriage License Application) and $30 US or 1,500Php (it was only 1,440Php in January but exchange rate varies).

When you get where you think you need to be, go a little further and get a Red Number off the wall to your right as you enter that last waiting room. This part will make more sense when you get there.

If you Fiancee wants to accompany you SHE MUST BRING OFFICIAL ID or they won't allow her to enter the embassy. My wife doesn't usually carry ID so she had to wait outside.

Been there and done that. They open up the service line around 7:45. I was there around 7:15. Out by 8:15. And yes get that red number and listen for it to be called.

PhilippinesPersonal medical question
QUOTE (jamesNrei @ May 8 2009, 02:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's okay to have for her medical exam during her period, but she will be asked to come back once her visitor has gone to complete the physical exam. So to avoid going back and forth, if I were her I will go there once the so called visitor is gone.

good.gif This is exactly what happened with Trisha. She did most of Day 1, then returned a few days later and finished day 2. In her case she lived near St. Lukes so it was no big deal to go back and forth.

PhilippinesIf i am not going to schedule my interview?
The appointment letter does not get you an interview. It just tells you that you need to call for the interview.

PhilippinesNice hotels in Manila
Your looking for nice. I have personally stayed in more than a few during my many trips to Phil. The Pennisula, Shangri-La, and Renaissance have always been very nice to stay at. Service is best at The Penninsula, The Shang is tops all around but gets to be expensive. The Renaissance is nice since it is part of the Marriott chain of hotels so I get my miles.

PhilippinesPDOS....
But ~dana~ going back to your question, it is required. Immigration looks for that stamp at the airport. They checked Trisha's when we flew to the US. Now the merits of the training is another discussion. Rather than fight it we just complied. In our case they gave Trisha a grilling and asked for for info. She had to make a second visit.

2. does air21 deliver visa on sunday? no sure. they do on Saturdays
3. what is the average waiting period for visa to get at your door? Seems like is about 2-3 days once Air21 gets it. total time seems to be about a week.

*about AOS
1. im starting to pack my things, im just wondering what are the documents i need to bring that i will use in filling for AOS. Bring your birth cert, passport which you will need anyway. Also it is cheaper to get US VIsa photos in phil go get at least 4 of them.

*last ques
1. where will i see info on how to apply for tourist visa in usa? Not sure what your asking for You will have a visa to go anywhere in the US or do you mean how do you get someone a tourist visa to come to the US to see you? If that is the case look on the USEM website for non-immigration visas.

PhilippinesAddress change for fiancee@Noa1.
We had the same thing happen to us. It is very simple. While at USCIS do not worry about it. Then when you get your NOA2 call NVC and have them change it. Also call the USEM when they get the file from NVC and make sure it was changed.

PhilippinesQuestion about setting interview date
QUOTE (Matt & Bing @ May 14 2009, 11:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello friends.

We were finally released from the NVC this week and I will be calling the embassy soon to inquire about our interview.

A have a few questions:

Anyone know about when interviews are being scheduled now? Mid to late June??

As I said, I am going to call to schedule our interview before waiting for the notice from the embassy. I believe the embassy will soon send my fiancee an email stating that we can now schedue an interview and a link to their web site with the forms needed and other information.
She will not get an email but rather a mail message.

And then after I call to schedule the interiew, another email will be sent to my fiancee confirming the interview date, correct?

One more question about the medical exam. On the first day, does it matter what time you show up? I saw someone suggesting arriving after noon on the first day. Is that a good idea? YES

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I meant to post this in the Philippines section - can someone move it please blush.gif

hello everyone! I'm usc planning to see my SO for about a month this summer. i think the normal visiters visa is good for 21 days. do i need a different visa for longer or should i buy tickets for a month stay and then extend the visa when i get to the phils? thanks you guys for the help

You have two ways to go. You can apply at the Philippine Embassy for a tourist visa that lasts the duration of your trip. Or you can go on a 21-day visa and renew. I would caution though that on entry if they look closely at your return ticket, you *could* run a risk that they notice your return is for >21 days and this could cause problems...

If you have the time, I would check into the visa, or book a flight returning in 21 days that you can change.
Dave

The correct path if your ticket is longer than 21 days is to get a visa in advance. Rarely do tickets get checked but mine has been.

Philippinescorrections after I-130 was filed
Some honest mistakes can easily be corrected, your husbaqnd can call USCIS and have them put in a service request. But the important question is why it is taking to long. If you have not been given a reason that is another reason to call USCIS and have your husband call his congresspersons - both senators and representative.

PhilippinesCFO papers say 4 hrs. early...
Be there 4 hours early. There are actually 2 taxes. One for 1650 called the travel tax which may have been paid in advance depending upon how your ticket was purchased and the departure tax of 750.
dale_trishaMalePhilippines2009-07-06 06:55:00
PhilippinesOne way ticket!
First immigration can always ask to see a return ticket as evidence that your eligible for the 21 day visa issued at the airport. I have only had it happen once to me on my 30+ trips to Phil.

You can get a ticket that you can change. Depending upon the airline and ticket you might have a change fee. I usually fly with one that has a $100 change fee. It is a small price to pay when I have to change. Frankly they have even waived that a few times for me.
dale_trishaMalePhilippines2009-07-09 15:32:00
PhilippinesCalling the USCIS...
Frustrating - yes, hopefully you hear something soon. Essentially USCIS will just tell you that the timelines are typically 6 months per the USCIS website. So it is best to wait.
dale_trishaMalePhilippines2009-07-13 11:56:00
PhilippinesUSEM conduct interviews on December?
there are interviews that month. But as you point out it will be a slower month due to the holidays since embassies are closed on US and local national holidays.

Philippineswhat vaccine shot do we need after 2 months of medical?
MMR, Tdap, HPV and Hep A & B are all due at 2 months after the first shot. So as the earlier posted said it depends upon what shots you got the first first time in St. Lukes.
dale_trishaMalePhilippines2009-07-20 07:00:00
Philippinesnoa2.
somedaysomehow is essentially correct.

Call NVC and see if they have sent the case to the USEM. The NVC is the State Department.
Then once it is sent to the USEM given the USEM 1-2 weeks minimum and call them then for the appointment.

PhilippinesI have my mnl number
With the NVC call them every couple of days to find out when they forwarded the package to the USEM. Usually it takes 1-2 weeks from the time they got it.
With the MNL you can get the Medical done. Actually you can do it with the NOA2. So either get the NOA2 or the letter from the NVC that they will send to USC and is probably already on the way.
With the MNL number you can also pay the USEM Visa fee.
Once the package is sent to the USEM then give it week and start calling the Interview line to setup the embassy.

At this point you should already be working on finishing your forms for the USEM.
dale_trishaMalePhilippines2009-08-21 18:21:00
PhilippinesWhat does she has to do at the airport?
Printing out the boarding pass does not work as explained above. The reason is simple, the airline counter people will confirm the PTA fee and send you back to get that. If she does not hav ethe fee paid then immigration sends her back to get it.
