K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Social Security Number	to answer your Q#1 the best thing is to apply ssn before marriage (why? because as k1 holder you are eligible to have ssn. if you are married you are not k1 anymore but on adjusting status condition which means you are not eligible to apply ssn under k1) you will use your name before marriage, get married then go back again to the ssn office and change your name using your marriage certificate.. i dont know how long you will get your ssn..but as far as i know from other people experience.. it doesnt take long time..	nenooye	Female	Indonesia	2011-08-05 12:17:00

Did u have to fill g-325a file before? I have no idea what makes it different..maybe random thing? lucky for you! for us RFE is not a big deal, just kinda sad because they asking something that they dont specifically asked that in the beginning. waste out time a little bit more than what we expected. It is the waiting and not knowing when the wait will end that is the hardest part. I wish you well and hopefully soon you will have your interview! Thanks Amber. I also wish you well too! That is the hardest part is waiting and not knowing but what I find helpful is not to think about it too much focus on things like getting ready for them to come and working keeping the mind busy is the key. MAN I was thinking in filing a I-129F it seem like it is much faster than I-130 but a lot of people told me not to bother as it takes the same time as the I-130. I was wondering if anyone can answer a couple questions about I-129F while filing I-130 at the same time. I know all fees are waived because you already filed a I-130 but I was wondering how that works? Sounds like if the I-129F is done and completed the interview they can come to the US but in that case what happens to the I-130? I dont think it would be worth filing a I-129F at this point since my case has completed at NVC on Feb 15th just waiting on an interview date. But who knows? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	US Consulate in Cairo	Copying this from my post in the consulate forum since a few of us are stuck: I started working on getting our K1 petition transferred from Cairo to Abu Dhabi last week so I sent an email to Cairo checking to see if they had received our packet yet and another to Abu Dhabi asking if they will accept a transfer request. I got an email from both embassies today confirming both but the email from Cairo threw me off: I had assumed since they were closed they would not be processing any applications which included sending out information packets. In the March 1 posting they said they would do limited process of spousal/child visas, I assumed this did not include the K1 visa. Does this mean they will be processing our visa petition and we'll get an interview? My fiancee and I decided to wait a week to see what the visa packet says before we proceed with transferring our case to Abu Dhabi. Whether or not that happens in reality when they are bombarded with RFE returns remains to be seen. But there is NO way we are back at the beginning and starting from scratch. There is a page somewhere on the USCIS website (I will try to find the link) that says they are "re-structuring" their service centers. In the future all petitions will be mailed to a specific service center based on what type of application or petition, not according to where the applicant or petitioner resides. 2. If you check the paper notice of action you received in the mail from CSC (if you haven't gotten one yet, you will), the receipt date is the same as it was when you received your NOA1. I'm A-S-S-uming that this means that we will still have our applications processed in the same order as we would have at NSC. What I'm waiting to see is when (not if) VSC petitions begin transferring to CSC... that will be a very large and bitter pill to swallow for everyone out east who has grown accustomed to having their petitions fly through processing.... Sometimes you just have to laugh at the "bassackwardsness" (newly made up word ) of the USCIS dontcha? Just thought I'd give all of us in the CSC transfer club a little chuckle. On a better note, they did update the CSC processing times.... it's now at Feb 15th There IS a light at the end of our tunnels.. we just can't see it yet. I do not see how it is illegal if you do not talk about it with him and he just comes here to visit. he is not lieing or missinforming anyone in the USG; his intention is to come to visit on the VWP. Once he is here you convince him to stay and marry asap and it seems legal. Then just do a aos here. The law says he must be truthful so if his intention is not to marry just visit and you use your womenly arts to change his mind after the fact how is that illegal???? and you do not have to be apart. But I guess I would run this by at laest 1 lawyer if not 2 and see what they think. It is not illegal to marry in the US whilst on the VWP or on a visitors visa. What is illegal is intent to immigrate when one entered the US. However if one is granted entry (not lied) and is otherwise eligible, one can apply to adjust status after one gets married. It IS illegal to enter on the VWP and get married IF you had the INTENT to do such. The OP asked the question with the INTENT to marry while the fiance is here on the VWP..... Those of us (especially from CSC) who are still waiting for RFE's due to IMBRA have had our petitions shelved.... 90 days and counting here...
