PhilippinesI-485 AOS Costs
I understand that once you are in the US and get married you must immediately file for an Adjustment of Status (Form I-485) Which according to the fee schedule is $1,010.00. Is this the correct total amount? and if there is a child involved what is the form and cost for him? I would like to know the procedure and exact costs for all this.

You have 90 days to get married and then after that, you can apply AOS any time. But it is best to apply as soon as possible because there's no way you can drive, work and enjoy the American life without your greencard. good.gif In my case, we filed 5 days after we got married.

Thank you very much for your reply. I know it seems like a simple question but we really did not know for sure.

PhilippinesAOS
How soon after arriving in the US is the beneficiary required to file for AOS (I-485), is there a legal time limit?

Question.....Did your fiancee have with her at the interview the annulment "Finality" and the "Annotated Marriage Contract" very important to have these.

Yes, she had everything.
they were very nice and very polite. They said the paperwork was fine.

But, it needed to be reviewed by USCIS. Thats all they said. And to wait for a letter before rescheduling interview.

It's strange they want her to go thru another interview process. I'm of the opinion and this is just my opinion that after all you have been through with the K-1 I would just sit tight for awhile see what the Embassy says. It may not be anything real significant that is holding it up.

^So even though a passport is not needed for a cruise ship to mexico, she cannot do it? My sister and her family just got back from one and they went onshore at different ports in mexico and even rented a jeep to cruise around in for a few hours while at port, and none of them had to have a passport...only the cruise ship registry ID card.
I am confused as to whether or not a cruise ship is considered leaving the country if no passport is needed.

They just recently announced that the new rules for Americans going to Bahamas, Mexico and Canada will need passports. It used to be you just needed a drivers license or birth certificate, but since the tightening of the immigration laws thats all changed. Good luck

That applies to Cruise ships, Airlplane, etc.
