PhilippinesPurchase a flight for my wife to come to US

My wife and her son were approved and she has received her visa already. Now I need to purchase their plane tickets. I am in the US, she and her son are in the Philippines. I called some of the airlines to purchase a ticket, but they all say I can not purchase a ticket for her, she has to do it from within the Philippines. I called AAA travel which I am a member of, and they said the same thing.

Is this right? How am I supposed to purchase her tickets? I guess I could just send her the money and have her purchase it directly. If this is the case, any suggestions of where I can tell my wife to purchase the tickets?

Thank you!

Ask her to call Alisto travel and tours at 02-8724633 and look for Lali. She can give your wife a very nice quote.
I purchased my ticket from their travel agency for only $535 including all taxes- one way (with first time immigrant). Your wife can purchased their tickets in a travel agency. Just send the money to her.

$535.00 is great price! where did you fly to in US for that rate? I'm getting ready to buy tickets for my fiance and her son.

Check out Expedia.com you can book it on-line or call them as I did. Their customer service is located in Manila so are very helpful. They seem to have the best prices and you can do it right here in the US. Good Luck

PhilippinesOrganizing Financial Documents for Interview
I'm organizing all my documents i.e. Form 134, employer letter, bank & brokerage house statements, etc. Is it better to leave everything loose so you can hand them what they want to see or like some here have done put all the documents in an Avery presentation folder that has the 3 metal tabs to secure things altogether and just hand them the whole thing? My goal is to make things as smooth, quick and easy for the CO.

PhilippinesBank Statements for Interview
Thank you everyone for your input. When I asked my bank for letter they immediately knew what it was for. I can see why the letter signed by a manager is preferred. Question : Has anyone who provided the bank letter still was required to produce bank statements?

PhilippinesBank Statements for Interview
Thank you for your reply's. DaleandPat, let me know how it goes at interview. If I understand you correctly, you did not supply bank statements themselves, but rather provided a bank letter stating your total yearly deposits. You know on the I-134 instructions that's all they really require. So maybe printed statements is just unrequired added documentation.

PhilippinesBank Statements for Interview
I am paperless with my bank, so nothing is mailed to me. I am suppling the statements to show direct deposits of my retirement checks which there are (3). Will printing the on-line view of the page of my deposits be acceptable to embassy? Keep in mind the on-line versions do not show complete account number. I will not print every page of each statement, just the deposits to cut down on total number of pages. Also, do you think the embassy cares what the ending monthly balances are? Any good advice is greatly appreciated.

Congratsulations Guy's! I'm sure it's a strong sense of relief. Next stop USA!

I'm curious I know you said you had both bank letter and statements. Did they ask to see statements or just bank letter? We are getting ready to go to interview Jan. 11th.

Philippinesco sponsorship is not ok
I have an E-mail directly from the US Embassy Manila stating their guidelines on "Co-Sponsors" I contacted them awhile back regarding this issue and one of the Consulates their responed to me. I will be glad to provide this e-mail to anyone that would like to read it.

As to the OP, tell your fiance to get a second job doing "anything" so he can provide an employment letter from each job totaling the necessary amount needed to pass. If it's just the 2 of you then his income only has to be around $18,200. he should be able to do this

The truth is a family of 2 in the USA only bringing in $18,200 per year is starving to death, so the guidelines are pretty easy to meet.

PhilippinesI-134 Question regarding employment letters.
Read this regarding Income http://www.visajourn...mp;page=support

If logic plays any roll in this then its "current employment" that really counts. I'm sure past employment is also an indicator, but what you are earning now is a clearer indication as to your ability to support your fiancee. JMHO

Philippines2nd I-134 for K2 applicant?
Filling out the I-134 for fiancee is pretty straight forward, However in filling out the 2nd I-134 for her 10 yr. old son I'm not certain.
My main question is under "Relationship to Sponsor" what to put? anyone have the correct answer to this?

PhilippinesLaid off before the interview?
It is my understanding that they do not contact the employer to verify. If losing your job diffenantly meant you in no way could support her and she would become a public charge for certain, I would just reschedule the interview. If not?

my credit score will be affected too? even though all of his credit cards are under his name? and he has huge debts even before we got married. We are only married for 9 months.

I am not really bothered by my credit score as i never had any credit cards. So i don't have a credit score? and if its gonna be affected then i'd be in a shithole... coz no credit score plus bad credit history caused by my husband.

I dont really know how it works.

Your credit score would be affected if you piggyback on his credit card. You should apply your own credit card.

I am planning to get a secured credit card in the future because nobody would want to give me credit right now. I don't know if its a good idea but i heard its the only thing you can do to build credit score.

Its obvious that all the financial difficulties your husband is experiencing is really stressing you out and understandably so. You are getting good advice from some of the people here on VJ. It appears there is very little you can personally do to correct things. Know this though, you are not alone, there is an economic crisis in the US right now and literally millions of people are in the same situation. Credit Card Company's have the highest rate of defaults in history and now the Gov't is clamping down on how they do business. More people then ever before are filing bankruptcy, most because they have no other choice. If in fact he has defaulted they will call religiously for about 6 months then they will right it off as a bad debt. They report this right off to the IRS which will declare it income and you will have to pay taxes on it unless he can prove he was insolvent (broke) at the time he defaulted. (not always hard to do in most cases). Know this! Credit card company's will settle the debt for less then half of what he owes and sometimes even less then that. Because of so many defaults they are desperate to settle. Convince him to cut expenses down to the bare essentials only! No matter what he has to give up he is still rich as long as he has you, right! Family is everything, at least it is to me, my wife is priceless. It sounds like he is fortunate to have you. Hang in there, pray for guidance and all will work out, I'm sure.

PhilippinesAffidavit of Support
If your 2009 Income meets the minimum 125% of poverty line you are in good shape. Bring the previous 2 years, it does not matter if they do not meet the minmum requirement. You will need the Finality at the interview. It does not need to be sent with the 129F. If everything else is in order it sounds like your on your way to a visa! Good Luck.

PhilippinesNO CLUE WHATS GOING ON!
Unfortunately you were deceived and once the trust has been broken its never the same, you will never be able to completely trust him again. That is so very sad, you went a long ways to complete his life. If everything is as exactly as you stated then you need to give serious thought to moving on with your life. I'm certain you deserve better.

PhilippinesFilipinos Against Arizona Immigration Law SB1070
This is certainly a hot and volatile topic for which there are no winners. I feel compelled to add my 2 cents about all this. Here is a fact. Illegal aliens children are entitled to Medicaid. I spoke with a Medicaid Representative and he stated that the parents get medicaid because of their children. The more children they have the more the medical and cash benefits they receive. He told me they are forbidden to contact immigration enforcement when they encounter these illegals.(Primarily all Mexicans) This disturbs me! Since when do we get to pick and choose what laws we will obey! I could see me arguing that to a judge. I just want to think my hard earned tax dollars will go to help those with the dignity, honor and self respect to obey the laws of our country and do things the right way.

PhilippinesList of US Banks affiliated to the Philippines
We found Xoom and Western Union way to expensive. Int'l Bank Transfers are also expensive. We use the Paypal Debit Card, there is no charge for withdrawls except what the bank in the Philippines charges which is $2.00 - $3.00 per transaction. It can be withdrawn at any bank that accepts MasterCard and I can fund the card on-line from home.

Thanks for the info ERY.

Also it seems her internet connection is really poor also...gets booted off a lot.

This seriously sucks!!!

We can send people to space, but we can't have a telephone system that works properly???

where did she live in Cebu is it Down Town City? or Province and flooded area and might be that is the reason that you can not reach her through telephone call. My Fiance used to call me everyday or I will make a call to him & we do not have a problem about. So, I hope soon you can contact her.By the way I live in Davao City.

PhilippinesCheap Air Tickets from Manila Philippines to USA?

Hi All,

I am about to book my mother's ticket today but PAL website online is expensive for one way. She needs to come to the USA this coming Dec 17th. Anyone here personally used cheap online tickets aside from Expedia, Cheap air, Hotwire, Travelocity?

Thanks a lot

VietnamHi, visa and CRBA approved, but still need help, PLEASE THX.
I dont know about the visa in vietnam. Biy definitely your child does not need visa to enter usa.
Regarding tickets. Children below 2 years old can be a lap child. But it is advised to have a seat for the child since it will be a long travel, you have that option when you book the ticket.
You would still need to pay for the taxes though

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaOne-way ticket

if you want.. buy a one way ticket first... if possible, book your flight for a saturday.. then a day before your flight, which is a friday, book your return flight. once you are in costa rica, call the travel agency and VOID your ticket.. most travel agency have this policy, EXPEDIA, i know for sure have void options... and it is voidable until the next business day. its voidable before 11:59pm ET the next business day which is already MONDAY if it was purchased on a friday.

agents would refer to is as "one time courtesy cancellation" just to make it sound right and make happy customers... biggrin.png
