My husband just called them and she said the same thing my status says online and then my husband said we already went for fingerprints. She said we just wait for now that I might receive another biometric appointment letter if my fingerprints were rejected. She was very nice during the conversation.
So now it's just wait and hope for the best.

I'm sure you'll do very well on interview. And yes, I hope we (the stuck ones) hear something. I'm really worried now.

Gosh, my interview is coming up too fast and I'm freaking out! I have been reviewing for the Civics Test and it seems like I will have no problems with it -- as long as I don't get too nervous. Nervousness causes mental block :blink:

When did you call them? Sometimes it works when we call them like my AOS for example, the whole process took over a year!

I called them and they told me to wait, the process time in TX is 5 months

I was fingerprinted on 05/16 and I knew I would be rejected, as the lady was unable to get a clear print!! Next day I called the FBI and they informed that my fingerprints were indeed unreadable!!
I filed my N-400 on 04/19/2011 , still waiting for 2nd fingerprint letter! Any suggestions?


Same exact problem here! My biometrics was on May 23rd and no second letter until now (I'm sure my fingerprints were rejected). Do we have to wait a month before calling them?

Yes, I hope to hear something from mine too. I think it's too weird being on initial review (unless as you said there's no update) but in your case you got email saying something different and in my case I got nothing. So not sure if I should be worried. Maybe I should post this question on the forum so other members could also share some experience (since this thread is only visited for us, April filers, I believe.

Lisa, did it take a while when you went through the previous biometrics? You can try to call, but I had my fingerprinting done May 6 and I have been in line for interview since May 9 and when I called on June 3 they only repeat to me what I can read online. It is possible that you have moved to the next stage and they haven't updated your case online, here is hoping that is the case.


Leafgal, yes it did. But the status changed (the date for example) and I soon received another letter for biometrics appointment on my previous applications (only my AOS took very long because I had to reschedule my 3rd bio). The date that appears on my status is my NOA date when they received the application. It would be nice if my case had moved to the next stage (or at least said I'm going to receive another biometrics appointment letter), I would know it's "alive". The date I see there, 04/25/2011 makes me a little worried as some people said they had their applications misplaced. :(

Hope you get yours moving soon too.

Just checked the status, it says exactly the same:

Initial Review
On April 25, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

So I guess my fingerprints will have to be taken again but I don't know why I'm stuck on initial review status. :unsure:

Leafgal, it's a little frustrating, isn't it? Yes, it's kinda weird having this same status since May 9, we are already in June.
Well, mine was at the same point as it was before I had my biometrics done (some days ago when I checked, maybe I should check it again to update it here).
I was gonna ask if you have ever had any fingerprints problem but if your status is "in line for interview" it could mean there's nothing wrong with your fingerprints, if I'm not mistaken. Mine is in the same initial review point (well, I'll check it now just to be sure and post here) and I'm sure it is because of my fingerprints (they never ever work :wacko:).

Lisa and Phil I too am in the same boat, have been in line for interview since May 9, still no interview or change in online status. Hopefully soon. I know my local office doesn't do same day oaths so I was hoping to get my interview by mid June so maybe there might be a special ceremony for Independence Day and I could be sworn in then lol. I am sure that is not going to happen now, but it was a nice though. Hopefully the Texas filers will soon see interviews. Good luck to everyone.

The lady at the ASC had a hard time capturing my prints, but she didn't give up on me. She tried and tried again until she thought it's very much acceptable. I was the last person they processed since I was a walk-in. She said she didn't want my prints to get rejected, and I did appreciate it.


The lady in Detroit who did mine was very nice and she tried her best too. I told her about the problem before she started and she said "yes, your fingerprints are very hard to be captured". She did it several times until the green "approved" appeared on the top. But it's always like this, I've always had very nice people trying their best on my fingerprints but they never work anyways. This time I tried exfoliating my hands and fingers 2 days in a row before going. But I know my fingerprints are so messed up so I won't be surprised whatsoever if I get another biometrics appointment letter. Actually i would be extremely surprised if they worked. :lol:

My wife did, but at the embassy stage. They called her back in a few days later. Make sure your hands are clean, and don't use any lotion for a day or two before getting finger printed.

"A check or money order for the application fee and the biometrics services fee for fingerprinting. (Applicants 75 years of age or older are exempted from fingerprinting and the biometrics services fee). Write your A-Number on the back of the check or money order. You may combine the fees into one check or money order. Make your check or money order payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security." (Source: USCIS Document Checklist ).

We just used personal check and I wrote: U.S. Department of Homeland Security since they say no abbreviations.

I will be sending my application for Citizenship tomorrow. I just have a few questions. Do we need a money order or a cashier's check for the $680 processing fee? I know the two are different but I went to the bank today and asked for a cashier's check for "U.S Dept. of Homeland Security" (Yes, Dept. was abbreviated by the bank cashier!). Should I have to redo it? Please let me know. Thanks!

I feel like the clearance you have from Oz plus a letter explaining the municipalities would probably be enough. But if you had any other options I wouldn't throw it out.

I had my interview today (finally)!!!!

It was scheduled to 8 am and my husband and I got there at 7:45 am. Waited around 10 or 15 minutes and the officer called me in. She was very nice and very professional.

She said me to raise my hand and swear to tell the truth, I did, she said my fingerprints did not work (as expected),so a decision would not be able to be made today. She went trhough questions on the form, then civics test, and reading/writing test which I passed. :D

When we finished the tests she asked for some documents, nothing that I had already submitted before and I had 2 folders, one with originals and another with copies. She did not want to see any originals and I was giving her documents and she said, this os more than enough. :)

She said I had passed but a decision could not be made because of my fingerprints so she gave me a paper requesting a letter from the Police.

I did not read the paper there because I always have this same problem, so I go to the Police and get my Police Clearance and everything goes well. She said sometimes some places don't give you police clearance so I had the option to go to State Police. The thing is: my husband and I went to the same Police Station we go and we got my Police Clearance as always.

But the letter I received from Immigration states: letter from Wonderland* Police Department and the one I got says Oz* Police Department. Oz* actually is a Township Charter (Oz* TWP) and the city I live (Wonderland, my address, zip code) is part of this TWP, so people who live here in Wonderland* only can get Police Clearance from Oz* TWP Police.

Do you guys think I will l have a problem sending this Police clearance? It's the same one I always send (the difference is that every time they requested letter from local police, they didn't state Wonderland* Police before, so I know it's the right place but I'm still confused. :bonk::hehe: The lady from Oz* TWP said I should just send a letter explaining that that is the place I request Police Clearance form people who live in my area. But will they accept it? :blink:

Well, the other option is State Police and we went there and the lady said they don't do that there anymore. :bonk: She said I would have to go to another place (far) and they would take my fingerprints (but they don't work!!!!!!!). She also gave the option to get this online, you pay $10 and get this paper (not all agencies accept it though), I tried several times but it did not work. :bonk:

So does anyone have an advice? :help:

1- Copy of my Permanent Resident Card (The old one because I am still waiting for the approval for my I-751)
2- Form N-400
3- Two identical color photographs, with my name and A-number written on the back of each photo
4- Money order of $ 680.00
5- Copy of my marriage certificate
6- Copy of the inside of the front cover and signature page of my spouse's U.S. passport

We all have our own style. I work at Kentucky Fried Chicken and 'cause I had to go straight to work after the ceremony I wore my chicken costume to the Oath Ceremony. Boy, did I get weird looks. I mean all those losers are eating chicken anyway, but when they see a large chicken doing what chickens do, they act irritated. So the obese black girl asked me to remove the head and boy did I tell her to shove it!

Then, when waiting for Obama to appear, I watched porn on my iPad. The lady next to me rolled her eyes like she didn't like it, and I told her I'm not doing anything she ain't doin' at home, right? So I told her to hug herself. Then came the judge and he looked really . . . I mean . . . where do they find these people? So he talks and I get annoyed and crank up my iTunes. Must have been louder than I thought, 'cause several people shisht at me. I mean . . . what wrong with those guys? All in all, it was pretty lame from start to finish. Then they wanted me to give 'em my Green Card and I told 'em over my dead body #######! I finally left and can't really recommend doing this #######. No fun.
