The issue is the same in all case - is the relationship for the purpose of evading immigration law to get the alien into the USA as an immigrant.

You (and your fiance) should have a question to answer for yourselves - do I really want to marry and live my life with this person whom I have not yet met in person.

You might want to consider getting your own answers to the 2nd question before deciding on your approach to immigration.

Hello guys, I checked my online status and it says that they sent the BIO appointment letter May 30th. I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet and its been like 7 days now. The letter should have gotten here by now. My biggest fear is missing my appointment. I called USCIS and was told to wait 30 days. I'm worried it got lost in the mail and that I will miss my original appointment. Any thoughts guys? Thanks

I was scheduled for my naturalization interview tomorrow, but I just got a call saying that my appointment was being cancelled and rescheduled because my file is "unavailable". Has anyone heard of this? Should I be worried?

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

and it went very well. Pick the closest one for your case, or maybe it would be the same one I picked. Good luck.

Hi everybody
My citizenship interview was on April17 2012 and I passed the exam.
But I didn't get my oath ceremony letter yet and I'm getting worried about it. The reason is that when I applied my N-400 still my divorce file was pending so I had to write my wife's information. after a few month I received my final divorce evidence from court. I had my divorce paper with me in my interview but the officer didn't ask anything about it and I forgot to show him.
Now I think in review of my file they may figured out that I'm divorced but in my N-400 file i'm still married. Should I call them now and tell them about my divorce or I should wait until i hear from them.
I appreciate any suggestion/advice.
(I should add I'm applying based on non marriage- 5 years)


As far as I know the based on marriage to USC application is the 3 years rule. I'm not sure but I think for 5 years it doesn't matter.

Wait for more responses that can help you about the issue of not telling the officer about your divorce.

Yes, you have to mail it in with your passport application. After they verify the information, they process your application and after that they will mail the cert. of naturalization back



Awe man! I thought we could just go to the Post Office and solve everything there without having to send documents. :(

We did get back that folder from New Orleans back, but someone at Chicago decided to swipe it. But both were not folded and both in a large brown envelop. Had the option to install a larger mail box in front of my home, so our postman didn't have to fold it either.


Never said DO NOT BEND on the envelop like they put on a lot of junk mail that also comes in.


I think we need a new mailbox here at home then. :unsure:

on may 17th i had infopass appointment at federal plaza
i explained everything to the officer
he told me my case was sent from federal plaza to Queens office
i guess they send it there since there was problem with my GC and i got my GC from Queens office.


so the officer sent service request to queens

yesterday i received this letter from queens


Dear ***** *********

on 05/17/12 you or the designated representative shown below contacted us about your case.


The status of this service request is:

we have received and granted your request to reschedule your appointment date. you will receive a notice within 3 to 6 weeks informing you of your new appointment.



first of all i havent asked them to reschedule any appointments.
or maybe appointment means OATH ?

im little confused because it says not interview not oath ceremony but appointment.
im hoping most likely they mean oath ceremony by that.

what do you guys think?


I think they meant oath ceremony. Maybe you could call the service center and get some info. :)

There is! Just follow the menu. Then you will hear your online status. After that (if I'm not mistaken) you wait on the line to talk to a representative. They will probably say all your information again and tell you to allow 30 days. Then, just ask if you could talk to an ISO, because you are worried about your oath ceremony, and you are afraid of missing it. I'm sure you'll not have problems and the officer will be able to check the date for you. Then you let him or her know that you didn't receive the letter yet. Good luck, I hope you get your ceremony same day as your mom. :)
