K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Biometrics and EAD	Hello… I have been searching through this forum and have not seen this answered I may have missed it if so I am sorry. I am a US born citizen and my husband is from India. We received the receipt from the USCIS on September 2, 2009 and we were told we would receive a Biometrics interview within a month and now it is October 26 and no word or change yet. How long does this tend to take??? Also what happens in the biometrics? What’s the average time for receiving the Employment Authorization in I am working but it would be nice if my husband could work he is going nuts with the boredom of staying home all the time. Your NOA1 should be on its way I think that as long as you have strong evidence of a bona fide marriage, you should be fine without a lawyer What kind of evidence are you sending with your packet? Also, are there any special circumstances - major things like criminal history, stuff like that? No special circumstnace but we do seem to lack pictures we really didn't do much that was picture worthy and when we did we never thought of getting a picture of us together. I think this was a stupid lack of comprehension on our part but we have lots of normal proof of a life together. Leases and bills plus a few event and movie tickets stubs. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 January 2012 Filers	My Husband and I will be sending our packet out by hopefully Monday the 23rd. His Conditional Residence expires on 3/17/12 and I am really anxious to get this going. I am nervous about not using a lawyer this time as I used one last time but she seemed to be a complete waste of money even though our goal was acheived. We should have no issues but we did have to have the second interview last time which really freaked me out. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	US Citizen Divorcing and Engaged	Hi, I am a US citizen and I am in the process of Divorce from a Man I married from India and helped to get his green Card. Our marraige was a love relationship and a true marraige and like other true marraiges it just didnt work out. As of February 13 we would have been married for 4 years. So I dont think that would have posed any issues. He and I have been apart for awhile and I have fallen in love with a man I met in Beirut. I was talking to him online before I went so we have been conversing for awhile and when we met it just felt right. So now I want to Marry him and bring him to the USA. I will be divorced in 3 weeks and I figured I would file after that. What issues if any should I expect? Also he is a Syrian on Refugee status in Lebanon, will this help or make for any other issues I cant forsee? I am nervous and still a foolish romantic. Yes I looked for an US Citizen to be with but sometimes things just dont work that way. And I had to go and start the tough path of the USCIS again. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Advice needed	Thanks to everyone that has sent me notes and words of encouragement since my posting last night. I'm very grateful. I need advice from those with experience at the US Embassy in Accra regarding K-3. My I-129F was sent to Accra from NVC on November 13, 2008, since then, we have been waiting for a letter to pick up the packages (3&4). I called there and e-mailed the Embassy on several occasions and yet to get a reply. What has been people's experiences and what can we do to get the packages and interview date. Someone told me a scary story that sometimes they will give you several months of interview date ahead and when you pay the staff working there, they can change it for you to an earlier date. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Hello Everyone,	Everyone has already said enough. The purpose of a visitor's visa is purely that, VISITOR. To get it, you must prove to the Consular Officer that you have no intention of remaining in the US. With him being married to a US citizen and you are here, it is next to impossible. If he try, it might affect him down the road because when you file for him. They enjoy dragging cases and they especially do so for people they perceive to be "desprate" so if he applies, they might think is "desparate". K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Help Ghana Embassy K3 Spouse & taxes	They typically will respond to Congressional e-mails. Let your Senator's office e-mail them. I did that and they responded with my spouse to come with the e-mail to enter the Embassy. Regarding the taxes, you can file for the ITIN which you can use to file your taxes. All you need are copies of the marriage certificate, your spouse passport pages with the picture on it, your spouse birth certificate. Complete your tax return on PAPER with your spouse name and leave the SS# column blank. Mail the return (Filing Joint) to the address on the W-7 instructions ( I think it's Texas). They will assign your spouse an ITIN for the taxes, process your tax return as joint and mail you a check or deposit into your account. You can send me private e-mail and I will direct you as well. I waited for 4 years just for the process to work out. Went to Ghana twice to spend time with my SO so that she will know I still care. It will be here soon. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	K-3 visa vs. CR-1	I used K-3 and I regretted it, even uptill now. Please do not use K-3. Just go for the CR-1 instead. With that, NVC schedules your visa appointment but with K-3, the embassy does and they will give you 4-6 months to come for interview which will virtually erase any time gained or even add you more time in total. If you arrive in the US with K-3, you cannot get a license or SS# unless you apply for work permit or AOS which will set you back over $1000 and also time for waiting for all the papwer work. Your best bet is to file a request for expedite service and then contact your state's Senator for assistance. At this moment, your case is still at NVC so Embassy may not be helpful. I think someone mentioned the visa-Waiver program. If your SO is carrying a French passport, then she can visit, if not you may have to get the guns out and plead your case with the powers that be. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Visa Finally Issued	Hello everyone: Just wanted to let you all know that my SO finally got her K-3 visa. This happened after the intervention from my State Senator's office, Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) and also persistent e-mails and phone calls to the Consulate. I was told to tell her to come any Wedsnesday with their e-mail response to me, which she did. They took the passport and asked her to return today. They had put her on the Admin Processing last week due to an issue regarding her application for a visitor's visa in 2005. It was resolved 2 days ago (Wednesday) and I can finally get my sanity back. Thanks to Zee Bee and everyone for the suggestions, well-wishes and prayers. We are a family here and what happens to one affects us all and I do appreciate everyone's paryers. I think what most ppl saying is that you wait so long for that interview date that not going for any reason watsoever is really crazy even though you had a good reason not to. the consequence of that decision means waiting. when you contact them to speed up your case they will see that you decide to move your interview so they obviously feel its not a priority to you so really you can't blame the embassy for this. just relax and wait and don't move EXACTLY! Caribbean	Appointment date canceled--NEED ADVICE!	I have posted on here before that my wife and I transferred our case from Mexico to Nicaragua a week before our interview date. To make the long story short, they cancelled our date and we have been waiting two months, which is the length of time it takes Nicaragua to receive physical mail from Mexico. The embassy in nicaragua said it would take two months for us to get a response from them, two months hit March 18th. I've sent an email to the Embassy in Nicaragua, but I think they are annoyed because they didn't answer (they usually have in the past). Does anyone have any suggestions? I miss my wife. I haven't called the NVC because I figured its not their case anymore. Is there anything else I could do? I'm an August filler. Had an interview for February 1st. Caribbean	why is an express no-impediment taking forever	My fiance went to RGD on 8/12 and paid express to get the no-impediment, which they said he would get in 10 bus days,and it did not happen. He called them 9/16 and they told him to called back in two weeks time. The interview is 10/14 and I hope he gets it before that time so he can have everything organized for the interview. I don't understand how we paid extra money to get something express, the time they said you'll get, and it's way passed the date. Had anyone faced similiar situation with RGD and what would you suggest? Goodluck with that one. When my husband ordered is Birth certificate EXPRESS it took almost 3wks. I had to send them 3 emails first before someone responded to my email. My fiance ordered his Express No imped Tuesday and status query today already shows record located. Not sure if that is good or bad. And he just got his birth cert not too long ago. Caribbean	Medical & Vaccination Information	We are thinking that my hunny is going to need some vaccinations. I am wondering if it is going to be cheaper for him to go to a local clinic and get his vaccinations updated before going to the medical appointment, or if he should wait and just get them done at the medical. He spoke with a nurse at the local clinic who priced him around $300 US for approximately 5 shots. That seems really high to me, but may not be in comparison to what they would charge at the medical appointment. Any of you or your hunnies had to pay for updated vaccines yet?? Which route did you go and how much? Thanks guys!! If he has time let him get his vaccinations at the clinic or a doctors office. Caribbean	marrying in Jamaica	I’m trying to plan a cost effective wedding. I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an inexpensive wedding in Jamaica. I’m trying to keep a small wedding. I’m thinking some where in Montego Bay. On another not. I was meeting with a lawyer about the immigration process. And her work of caution. Was have your fiancé provided you with a police record So your 100% sure that the filling of the papers can work. I never thought about this and have known my fiancé since 2007. I trust his word but her you can never be to sure. He has agreed to get In for me so we can move forward with out plans. Good idea about the Police Certificate.
