Hi everyone. I just want to put this question out there for everyone to comment. Given the fact that sole purpose of a K-1 visa is to get married and to do so within 90 days upon arrival, if not, you have to leave the country. Let's assume that I did not get married within the 90 days. When is this date to leave? 91st, 92nd, 100th day? or when the I-94 expired? My wife's I-94 happens to expire 1 year and 3 months after arrival.

Day #90 is the day to leave by. The I-94 date does not trump the K-1 requirements. Just because a mistake was made when the I-94 was issued and dated incorrectly does not alleviate you from the requirement to marry within 90 days (which means before day #90) or else leave.

Phil, I totally agree with you. Even if there was a mistake on the I-94 you as the individual knew that you have to get married within 90 days. I believe you knew it was a mistake but you tried to you it to your advantage, but obviously it backed fired on your part. Good luck

I was hoping to get an interview date emailed back to me so we can set up a medical appointment and get this thing rolling.. BUT... this is what they wrote back...

Morning, All.
We went to the one reggae club in Houston (Riddims) last night, then to the Caribbean restaurant next door afterward. Steven enjoyed himself a lot. Mentally, I was comparing being there to being at Alfred's... no comparison. I much rather feel a breeze from the water than from a fan. Regardless, I'm glad he enjoyed himself. My friend came with us. She said she had a good time, but probably wouldn't go back. She only liked when they played the hip-hop songs, saying she couldn't understand a word of the dancehall ones.

Belwin, the family is in my prayers.

My2, thanks for sharing your story. When do you plan for him to come over?

Always Blessed, glad to hear you're okay. What's going to happen regarding insurance & your car?

Caramel, is your son adjusting to your fiance more than his father is?

DaDa, glad you enjoyed seeing your daughter as the flower girl. Hope you took some pictures for her to see later in life.

Girl you're too funny, but he's adjusting he knew him before he found out that we were a couple. I think he is alittle excited because he keeps on asking me when his he coming.

Good morning ladies. How was you'all wkend. Yesterday was my son's B-day he turned the big 12. His request was to go to Jasper's for dinner with his family and friends. I could do all his friends so I did my mom and 2 cousins. When we were leaving for Jasper's my dad asked, How come he wasn't invited my mom said," the only place you like to go is the garage". He like to hang out in the garage with his friend drinking and playing luddie. My son asked his dad to come but he said no. He is still mad about me and my fiance being together so he doesn't talk to at all.

And, I think you have to let it sit a while for the rum to ferment or whatever it does, right?

Going to JA sucked you dry ey??? Well I think its better to have no time and come home every day to him here then to goto JA and use all your darn time eve though the trips are exciting…

Aww he said wait for him…. Aww dats so cute….lol

Tell him our movies don’t have intermissions like there’s so make sure he goes to the bathroom before the movie.. LOL

LOL..I took my daughters to the movies in JA but I did not tell them about the intermissions. When the movies stop they were mad a hell. I laugh so hard.

Going home to him everyday is better than me not having the time off. JA and Guyana eat up my time

Ooh you been to Guyana? Are you from there or just like to visit?

Girl the first time I went I was mad. First of all it took forever for the move to start. We had to see the previews and music videos and then we had to stand for the Jamaican anthem. Then the Jamaicans talk and bumba and blood claut threw the movie and then there was intermission. I was floored but I must say I loved the experience but I still laugh when I think about it.

I am from Guyana.

LOL same thing happen to me my first time at the movies in JA.

Hey Ladies i wanna say congrads to yall approvals i hope everyone have a happy holiday.

I wouldn’t say I’m a newbie but I don’t post as much as I use to simply because I have been consumed with other things that I don’t feel is very relative to the board anymore. Things on VJ do seem to center around the Visa process which is why it is here in the first place. I have stated before that I felt overwhelmed with this process and sometimes deliberately stayed away from VJ just to not think about it for a while.

When I was a newbie i posted a lot compared to now just because I’m a open person and love others advice but as the time went along i seen that if you posted certain things it might be thrown back in your face so i backed away from that and only tell certain people on here certain things.
honestly that’s why I feel that most relationships on VJ seems like every day is paradise because people are now afraid to post certain things for that reason. I would be the first to say my relationship is not peaches and cream because life is not peaches and cream but to discuss why it is not paradise I will certainly not post just because of what I seen transpired on the board.

Besides that which only may affect the vets I feel VJ is very informative, I was clueless when the thought first crossed my mind now I can give others advice. for the newbies that are only concerned with the visa process you can’t blame them we all was that way once. It’s only because I been on here a while that I would want to know when the next stella is coming out or if dada took care of those cobb webs lol or if regal got approved or if sus went to amnesia on her ja trip or if philly is still chasing cats ect… lol lol

Newly you ain't said nothing but a word...it damn sure isn't peaches and cream all the time but no relationship is. I still love my baby with all my heart but these men, these men...sometimes!!! headbonk.gif

Amen to that!

They ask me how many times did I use to travel before I met my fiance and I told them every so often and then they ask me for my passport and I gave it to her she looked at it and gave it back to me. then she ask my fiance where did we me and did I have any children and did he have any children and that was it. Then she told my fiance that his bith certicate his out date so he needs to get a need one and make an appointment to drop off his birth certicate and his passport.

Morning Ladies!

So sorry Philly for your loss. I am sure your friend understands that you cannot be there.
Blessed… thank goodness you are ok, that sounds pretty scary. Hope you are feeling better…
Jess … hope your foot is feeling better and don't work to hard!

Hope the ladies with their men fresh on arrival continued to have a great weekend!!

We finally got snow this weekend in Maine. It was just enough to make everything look really pretty. Tierra and I headed to LL Bean for new snow pants and boots. She looks cute in dark purple and brown. I steered her clear of PINK this year… LOL

I was so excited to sleep in this Saturday.. Louis didn’t have to work Friday night so no reason to get up early… Well 5AM!! the neighbors upstairs had their grandson and he was running back and forth the length of the apartment for HOURS!!! Now I can understand the child getting up early… but c'mon! Can you not let him run around WITH SHOES ON at 5am? Oh man Louis was so mad. He finally called the landlord yesterday after it sounded like they were rearranging furniture ALL DAY! The landlord just called (after speaking to the people upstairs) and told Louis they were being "effing aholes"… landlords exact words!!! haha… he is such a "Mainah".
I am the 1st one to empathize and say… well its their grandson, they don’t have him all the time, or… the guy is HUGE and walks heavy. But I think it is beyond that now. I really think they don’t care, or don't like us. Louis even wrote them a note once explaining he works nights and just would like a few hours sleep in the mornings.
Its so weird how they can just not care. I would feel so bad if I were upstairs making all that noise. Now I feel all uncomfortable when I run into them outside. UGH…

Ahhhh Cat, that just straight SUCKS!!! I really can't stand inconsiderate people! Not to mention they are now raising an inconsiderate grandchild! Oooh man, I can't stand when parents, grandparents whomever do not put limits on their children! There has to be boundaries! I don't blame Louis for being vex! If I finally get a night off & get to sleep in & fi 'ear some racket inna mi head @ FIVE inna deh mawning!! Mi woulddah raise HOLY 'ELL tuh!!!!! mad.gif
Gill

I would go upstairs and talk to them about their noise problem then if that didn't work then I would go to the landlord and call the police about the music but this is only if they try to be nasty about.

Hi Yardies...

Always Blessed I'mj so glad you are ok. God is great and he kept you safe.

Friday: Well Garfield came into JFK @ 9:25pm (Air J was actually on time) it took him about 45 min to get out. When I say him I was jumping up & down waving my arms so he cane see me. He gave me a kiss and said see I made it. Well I put on his coat but did not zip it up. When he step outside and felt the NY cold air he FROZE...me and my sister fell out laughing at him. I zipped his coat up and gave him a kiss. The reunion was off the chains......

Saturday: We got up ate breakfast and then went to see my sister, aunt, dad and a few friends all the time it was raining in NY then we headed home around 3:15pm. When the rain changed to SNOW his mouth fell open. I said baby its snowing. He call JA and told his mom he looked like a big kid. We got home after 9pm (after we went to see my daughter at her college, pick up another daughter, went to see my friend and did grocery). We finally went to sleep after midnight and did not wake up until 10:30am.

Sunday: we went to the laundry and then I took him to the mall...when he saw the inside of Arundel Mills Mall he was floored. I have never walked the entie mall but I did today. The man wanted to buy everything but I talked some sense into him. Now we are home and he is cooking us a late dinner.

I sooooooooo LOVE my Hubby heart.gif

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaWhat is our fate?

:) Thanks Guys, I'm a little less worried now.

Hey after a while papers expires and cases will be closed if immigration does not here from you through mail, ph call or email. That is what happened to my brother's wife. He filed for her and after a year of immigration not hearing from any of them they send a letter a year later stating that there were going to close the case due to the fact that there was no activity on the case in other words no one inquired about the case for at least one year.

When I went to my hubby's interview they didn't even ask us for any of the proof. Like pictures, phone records etc. so don't stress!!!!

Different strokes for different folks, when I at my fiance interview this guy visa was denied because he didn't have pictures and I'm not sure if he provided evidence of their communications but I know the CO ask him how did him and his commuicate. I was sitting close so I basically heard the entire interview.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaJAMAICA - Medical Exam

Question for Jamaica medical exam. My husband is 27 and has received immunizations, but doesnt have any records of it due to records being lost during hurricane Dean. Is it safe to say he should go ahead and just get immunizations now while we wait for the NVC process to go forward, that way he can show his immunization record or should he just plan on getting re-vaccinated during his medical appointment? Does anyone have any tips about this?

You don't want to wait until your medical because it is going to cause you and him alot of money. What he can do is try to go to the clinic that he receive his immun. as a child and see if they have it on file. If they have it on file they will just write up a new card with the old info or he can go to a clinic or a dr. office and explain to them that he will be traveling and he can't find his immun. card. My fiance just went through the same thing. His mom lost his immun. card but he was able to go to the clinic where he got his shots from he was a child and they were able to write up the old info on a new card he also got the rest of his shot at a private dr office and it was way cheaper to do it there . I beleive at the embassy medical place it is $5000 per shot so if your husband need 6 or 7 shots it will round about 30,000 to 35,000.
