Oh I love that line JAEng, isn't that so true that the talent always finds you ;)

Boy, that's how I feel about it.

I have always been a 'fixer' wanting to make people love themselves, increase their self-confidence and photography has just been AMAZING at enabling me to do that....I love love LOVE when someone looks at their photo and goes 'OMG I'm beautiful!', because for me it's the first step in getting people to love themselves as they are....Women who THINK they are overweight or don't like this and that about themselves get to see the BIG picture....we on the outside don't put our faces two inches from the person we are looking at and look for flaws, we stand a foot or two back and see the WHOLE person....and it is AMAZING when I hear people LOVING themselves....or getting someone who HATES photos to WANT to take pictures, men who HATE pics to do family pics and LOVE being in them....more to me than ANY amount of money could ever be.

Not dat mi have a ting mi would hide from di man... just that mi feel it a little presumptuous fi smaddy go message him an not know him...

bwaaay sah...dem DANGEROUS enno!!!!!

I would NEVER do that #######, what reason could you POSSIBILY have for doing that? If they know YOU, then say it to YOU. How him reach inna di mix???

The change won't affect any legal immigrants, ie no-one on here really, just the illegal immigrants.....

As for IDs, you can either have a state ID or a driving license, I understood was the same requirements for both...

Nope. Before this change, all you had to do was show proof of ID and Maryland residency....Ie, a Jamaican driver's license, a renter's agreement and a cable bill could have got you a license before they introduced this new bill. Now you have to have a social security number and proof of status etc...

Hi, JaEnglish!

For those of you who already got the police record, did you have to bring 2 passport sized photos? It says so on the website, but I just got off the phone with a guy who works there and he said to bring a passport, TRN, and the $$ to that office, then go to Duke St for fingerprints. He didn't mention passport photos.

When I got mine I needed two!
Better safe than sorry, take them!

QUOTE
The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration will cancel scheduled appointments for 8,000 immigrants applying for driver's licenses and has stopped booking them in advance of a new law that will curtail driving privileges for illegal immigrants starting June 1.

Every driver in the state will be affected by the change by having to present a Social Security card or other proof that they are in the country legally to get a license.

As news of the measure -- passed in the final hour of the General Assembly session Monday -- coursed through the immigrant community, officials mobilized to change computer programs and launch a public information campaign. The current system has allowed hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants to drive but has made Maryland vulnerable to fraud by out-of-state motorists.

Illegal immigrants who have licenses can renew them once for a driving permit before they are cut off July 1, 2015, a date set in a compromise bill muscled through the House of Delegates and the more conservative Senate. The permit will not provide access to federal buildings or commercial airplanes.

NYPD blue arrested him there and then, he was lucky to only spend ONE night in jail. Judge was lenient (apparently) and told him the offence will lie on file for 6 months, and let him go.

A child has enough love and needs in them that both of you can support. Sooo....couple days ago, my MIL took the baby to Denver for 4 days.
Since he came back, he hasn't left my side. Guess that REALLY pissed her off as she's been crabby and argumentative ever since. So today she mentioned something about his 'attachment kick'. So I said, "you do know why he's being all clingy to me right?' She got really angry saying it was 'just a phase' and I was a know it all!!
I just laughed and ignored her, but I honestly think she was expecting that because she had him all to herself for that length of time, he would come back MORE attached to HER!!
She just can't comprehend, or refuses to accept he's clingy because he was away from his MOTHER for four days!!

Wow JE! So is he in there for life? How did your friend get in contact with him after all these years?

He gets out in 4 years...She called her aunts who told her brusquely to go look on the internet....With prisoners in NY, you can go to a website and put in their name and it comes up with all their info.

One of the things that shocked me was to find out that the govt doesn't give them toothbrushes, soap and deorderant etc. They have to either buy it or people have to send it in to them. He said for years he's had to beg them from his friends in jail. Shoes he was wearing one of his friends asked his family to buy him.
I went to the store yesterday and bought him toothbrushes, soap, deoderant, socks undershirts and some t shirts and sent them priority mail.

My friend in London is going to send me money so I can send him money orders so he can buy stuff like cigarettes.

Hey ladies!!!

Had a relly busy weekend, drove up to NY again.
Shopped til I dropped, found some really good deals on shoes for my son, got 4 pairs of shoes for $80!!

Took my friend to visit her father who has been in jail for 21 years!!!
Was really amazing being there. She last saw him when she was about 7 or 8.

He is in jail for manslaughter, but but his time got extended because he got in trouble in jail. He has been at the jail he is in now for 3 years, this was the SECOND time anyone visited him!!!
I guess I can hardly imagine being in jail, but it got really hard to imagine being in jail and no-one coming to see you sad.gif
So, the messed up thing about the whole situation is that my friend lives in London, she goes back today. Her other sister lives in Jamaica, she goes back next week. Their other sister lives in NY, but she is here illegally so she's scared to show the prison her passport to use as ID to visit him sad.gif
But at least now they can send him care packages and money to make his life that much easier.
The thing that really moved me was to see him bawling like a baby when we had to leave, was thinking of how tough he is, how hardened, and yet to see him there with tears running down his cheeks has to be one of the most moving things I ever saw.
Did think about the guy he killed though, and wondered how I'd feel if he was my family....

House and land generally means anything HUGE or LOTS OF...Ie, if someone you knew in Jamaica asked you to bring a HUGE list of things, they would be asking you to bring HOUSE AND LAND....if you were going away for a wekend and you brought a HUGE suitcase, he might ask you why you brought house and land....
