Same here. Andre took the written 3 or 4 times before he passed. He passed the driving on the first try.

Written test was REALLY REALLY easy here....took me maybe 4 mins.....at least I got that out of the way...

Just checking in...waiting for TNW's news.

Congrats on all of the approvals and arrivals.

So happy to see you posting again smile.gif

Well, I'm like frig it, I'm going to get a JA license when I go down in May.
I'll drive on that until I can get a proper license....

I am pissed the HELL OFF!!!

In AUGUST I went to the MVA to get a learner's permit for MD.
They asked me if I had ever held a license before, I said NO, just a learner's permit in England. They asked to see it, so I produced it.
They then told me, I could NOT have a learner's permit here, I had to CONVERT it and do a 3 hour drug and alcohol program.
I even EMAILED them AFTER to check this was RIGHT!
So I did the alcohol and drug course in SEPTEMBER, and the driving school finally gave me the certificate in DECEMBER.
I went back to the MVA in January to make an appointment for the driving test, by which point my I-94 had expired, so the bastards told me MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!
There were no January appointments left, I was told to call in FEBRUARY.
I made an appointment on the 6th of FEB for TODAY (two FREAKING MONTHS LATER).

TODAY I go in, they say 'SORRY YOU NEED A LEARNER'S PERMIT'??????????
Now, the FRIGGED up thing about it, is that I have to hold the learner's permit for SIX FREAKING months until I can drive on my OWN?????

I am sooo pissed and disgusted with those stupid a$$holes right now.

So, within the last week mi puddung one piece shopping frenzy.
Went to Leesburg outlets TWICE!!!
Bought like 15 outfits for my goddaughter in Jamaica, I felt guilty because I haven't bought her stuff in so long.
My brother in England finds it SO expensive, so a Demo shop in our local mall was closing down, everything was 70% off, so my brother sent me money to buy him stuff.
Got everything I need for Jamaica, so the email last night was just AMAZING to have!!

Ooh, for Lawny (I think) Gap Outlet has some plus size swimsuits in lots of colors! Also the skirts and coverups.

rose.gif Guys, I need your prayers once again! rose.gif

Ok, so I am one my way to drop off the $$ for Ken's room!! I decide to check Craigslist one more time...
Guys, I found an 2 bedroom apartment RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY KIDS SCHOOL, right around the corner from my Dad's house for...$1200 (utilities INCLUUDED)!!!

Guys, it is like G-d sent this just for me!! My biggest struggle is finding a place that I can afford and still keep my kids in a good school district! Unfortunately on LI, where your kids go to school depends on where you live!

Guys, I AM BEGGING YOU PRAY FOR US...PLEASE!!! Instead of Ken moving to a room all by himself 10-15 minutes away...WE could move into our OWN place APRIL 1st!!! And start living as a family!

Please pray that G-d touches the landlord's heart and chooses us to be his new tenants!!! My boys would NOT be uprooted from their current school and we would be able to save for a house and I would be around the corner from my Dad (he's getting older...and you never know)!

Thanks Guys...love you!
heart.gif
Gill

Isn't AMAZING how things work out??

I will most definitely pray for you, and also pray that the apartment is a nice one!!

Our paediatrician recommended a product called Aquaphore...You can find it in Giant etc....You should use it every time you bathe her from head to toe....It's good both to treat and prevent cradle cap and will also be a good moisturizer for her hair until she's old enough for other stuff.

I have a randomn hair question. My daughter has the most beautiful curls. I know the basics of how to care for her hair but would love any input you fabulous woman have for me! Any great products that I should try out?

If you have problems combing her hair I would suggest you comb her hair while wet with conditioner in it.
As for products, my mother used to use Stay Sof Fro on mine, not sure if it's something they have here in the States.
For a daily moisturizer, I would recommend Sof Sheen Optimum Oil Therapy.

You might also want to use a leave in conditioner.

Ok mi ave one question..

Mi girlfriend a contemplate doing a fiance visa fi her longtime BF..well he was in England for 4yrs and the girl he lived with pressed charges of abuse..he stayed in jail 6mths then they released him saying that they couldn't find grounds to continue..mi no know if a so a just wah she atell mi him tell her...

ok, him affi go disclose that syaty in England and get a police cert from there right ?

him a try tell her dem (immigration) nah go know bout dat cause a 2 dif country..mi ask her if she really believe dat..!

so any suggestions ?

OK, first of all, I would tell her to make him send for his certificate.
If it's CLEAN, then nothing to worry about.

Now if he has a criminal record, unless is was a crime of moral turpitude, I believe he can get a waiver. Not sure how successful that would be though at the JAMAICAN Embassy.

Now as per the TOS, I cannot advocate him LYING about it even though there is NO WAY they can find out unless someone tells them.
Should he do this terrible thing and lie, be aware that if the immigration EVER find out, they could revoke his citizenship etc.

Of course I would NEVER encourage anyone to be dishonest whistling.gif

I've stayed at Beaches Boscobel (formerly Boscobel Beach Hotel).
I would say that some service at the Rius or the Grande is EXCEPTIONAL, sometimes it isn't.
Some meals are EXCEPTIONAL, most are run of the mill.
What you are paying for at Sandals is exceptional every day....When I first started going to Jamaica, I laughed at people staying in a hotel, why stay in a hotel when you could stay at a friend's house and spend the money you saved elsewhere was my opinion.
Then when my son was born, I started staying at Fisherman's Point which is self catering. Again, I was like NO WAY am I staying all inclusive. Until I tried it.
Now, I can't see myself staying in a self catering hotel and HELL NO in anyone's house.
Especially now that I can't spend a month at a time in Jamaica on vacation.
I love the all-inclusive experience mainly because of my son, he has so much fun in the pools and being able to go and get snacks whenever he wants to. Also, I love the fact I don't have to walk around with money or negotiate hordes of taxi drivers at the gate each time I want food.
I love the fact I can leave my stuff on a deck chair and the room is close by if I need anything.

Of course you can have BAD experiences at these pricey hotels, but if I could justify the $2000 price difference for 10 days between Beaches and the Grande, HELL YES I'd do it...
