CONGRATULATIONS!!!

:P after all the doubts still.... it really goes well with yove!

Long vacation for me here in VJ ........ but still im here @ Mindoro for long holy week vacation for me and my son @ the beach. Anyway regarding about ur last post for me ..... YES ..... it happened as i should wait till my fiance baptism to be a member of the church, but he already done with his indoctrination here in manila before he flew back to Georgia. My fiance embrace my religion without hesitation, the only thing we need to do is wait for the baptism bcos even i fly now to Georgia and be with him wont make difference might be sent home when i almost finished my 90 days in US without being married by church ( like what happened to "mizz" fiancee in VJ, he post his inquiries with this ). Since i did inquire with PatientlyWaiting about expiration of visa's, i knew now that i have other options to do not to lose our visa's and mizz didnt knew dat, so his fiancee went back to manila b4 30 days never got married. And now it will be a big "ISSUE" to embassy about not pursuing the mariage but went for 30 days. He will reapply again but have more worries, we could live and wait for more months than waiting for years doing the petition again :crying: :) , we're still trying to balance everything, and i dont have much more to worries bcos there's nothing more to get worried for what we've already experienced from the start of the petition filing till the issuance of visa. I still got our passports , stamps, & visa's ...... only a ticket away. Did manage to change flight bookings without adding charges.

Importantly ive got the blessings of my family & my fiance side too for watever decisions we will make in the coming days..... months..... ill keep you all guys posted :luv: ;)

again...... lets keep the VJ spirits alive!!!!

well i was in a religious background so much so that they tried to make me a catholic priest, but im hardly religious at all. ive been married before so the wedding isnt that big a deal for me .however for yove it is. so we decided to have a civil wedding in america and to return 2 years later to her province for a big family wedding for her. on our second anniverary. her

ok several things one yove made the lady laugh she was very honest about everything about us how we meet etc. and it was very funny. some of the women there forgot to pay BPI others forgot police documents. the women was very kind to yove she showed her the folder with big red letters on the folder APPROVED i'ld say thats a pretty good clue. also with the error in her birth record it went through no problem. yove first name was misspelled LLovemyl instead of Yovemyl it took 2 weeks ,but we had it corrected by having the clerk from her province fly into manila to post the correction. it cost a few hundred dollars to fly back an forth ,and pay for her time from work ,but well worth it. also yove was asked for her baptismal certificate which she had ,but its not required. she had put all her paperwork in order in a nice binder that impressed embassy personal.   with all that said we'll let you know anything new

Hello there guys! Hi pw...how's everything? It's been awhile since i post in vj...I had my visa interview last april 4 & my fiance is with me during the interview...until now I haven't got my visa from delbros...they said its not yet release by USE and when I called USE it is still being processed...we were not told personally by the consul if we are approved or not but we saw the approved sticker on our case folder...we were not told we are on AR...and I can't think of wny reason to be on AR...it's just frustrating coz the others got their visas after 3days & to think some of them live in the province while I live in manila...so anyone here who's experiencing the same thing...i know how you are feeling right now. I just pray that things will turn out ok...God bless to all of you!

sounds like your in the dreaded AR hopefully it wont be to long there only 4 weeks as an average. unfortunatly the embassy wont tell you your on an AR

Danoco, I have found tickets one way, all the way from Manila to Indianapolis or Chicago, or Detroit for 800 $ taxes included ( NW own online site ) . The combination AA and JAL flights from manila are the cheapest way to go but have nasty connection times, or alot of connections, June flights for them holding in the 570-650 USD$ range. I got a line on a travel agent in makati I will check on next week

Hi jose and everyone here!

How's helen? does she manage to fly to illinois now? As for me i passed everything in Embassy before helen, but me and my fiance got some delays from church here in manila, they dont want me to fly with Ryan last Apr. 3 , so im still here in manila but i already rebooked my ticket and my son Lloyd on Apr 25. It's more into culture thing in Manila, my church here thinks that im eloping with an american guy and im tried living-in together, so wer just waiting and trying to obey church. But im keen to fly to ATL by 3rd week of April with my son.

-rebelheart-

rebel are you saying your church made you change your flight because it didnt approve of your current wedding plans ???? im goin assume this is a protastant religion not catholic???? even if either it seems a little extreme to make you change your flight. and by no means am i tryin to insult your faith , im just in shock that your church would ask you to do this. i was raised catholic myself ,but will marry out of my church for yove's faith. my church may not be happy, but have set down no demands on me nor did yoves church do so on her. seems a little extreme for a church to make you alter your flight

(sorry for the repitition, I posted this in the "general area" and meant to post here in the Manila Thread)

Well, we've waited and waited but still no packet 4 for my wife. I went ahead this week and sent her a copy of the appointment letter that I received. I never got a complete packet, just the appointment letter, and my wife never got squat. :( Her medical is scheduled for April 20th and it's already April 7th. We know that she needs to bring the copy of the appnt. letter, 2x2photos, passport, and all vaccination and x-ray records. Is this all she needs to bring? I mean, based on other posts we feel confident that we know all the contents of the packet already, but someone said that the DS-156(k)(157) forms may be a little different and the bank may only accept the ones in the packet when stamping them. Have I waited to long to ask the Embassy to forward the packet? Will St. Lukes receive it in time?

Thanks for any responses.

call the embassy ext 5184 sandy ask her to forward her packet to st lukes pick it up there it takes 1 day

Disregard my last post, i didn't see your last post

Well Rosemarie is filing for the petition change tomorrow; they ( the NOS ) say they can do it in 3 weeks but I dont believe them. Soooooooooooooo

I get confused by that response they gave her, the only thing i can think of is like PW said they just change the BC on NSO paper but not in the system, which i think can be a problem.

if they go to manila where the records are input to the system wont that solve that problem, we'll know in 10 days (philipineen time) if what yove did is correct or not.

Best way to tell is just goto the local NSO and get a copy, only takes a day or two. That will be whats in the system. Anyways, with your connection i would guess it is right.

well she got her Cenomar from there it had her correct spelling of her name

More power to yah if you did that way legally i just don't see how that is legal according to the law but you know how things work in the Philippines. Anyways, we talked to lawyers, NSO in Manila and the Local Registry not to mention the laws in place. They gave us no other option but to file locally and wait. We even ask to do it in Manila but they wouldn't let us because her hometown has a LR. So here we are waiting for almost a month now.

actually Yove just told me her Uncle's best friend is the mayor of her province she actually campaigned for him when she was in college, i guess he autherized the city clerk to go to manila to correct the error in her birth certificate although we paid for the expenses he did expediate it for us. in this case i guess its more who ya know then what ya know,

so i guess my previous info was lacking all the facts

Ok I would appreciate some input from the group.

As I am typing this my fiance is getting her passport , now

In 1996 when she gave birth to her son she was using a different name ( baptismal ) that was placed on the birth certificate. Also , for some bizzare reason , her father changed the spelling of the families last name by one letter

Ok, as far as Rosemarie's I -129 is concerned and other picture ID , and her own birth certificate they are correct, it is her sons. It is his birth certificate that is ascue; he is included on her visa petition

Now I was thinking her are my choices

1) Go ahead with the interview and physcial on May 9th and 16 th , see what flys ???? Get the white slip /AR and go from there

2) Postpone the interview and physcial , and get the new correct birth certificate/ passport ; then get them to their physcial and interview together ??? 2 months for correct one to be issued thru the NSO ??

Is there a rush processing fee I can pay the NSO ???

It is kinda boiling into a logistics problem being he is 10 yr old and in Cebu ?????

Good luck and Thanks

Brad

yove just went through a similar situation we had everything corrected in 2 weeks new birth certificate an new passport to match the application

This is not accurate at all, you can not "Legally" change a BC in 2 weeks. Trust me i know, i wasted 100 bucks. It takes 3-4 months time to correct a BC if it's a typo. You can't change names without having a lawyer and going to court. There is no rush processing for NSO, if anyone says so they aren't doing it the legal way. NO ONE in the NSO offices have the authority to change a BC, you have to file with your Local Registry or Consul General. Consul General is the only one that can approve a change and just the mandatory wait time is around 25 days. It's pretty big jail time if you get it changed the fast way and they never changed it in the system and the Embassy inquires about it, which they most likely will if her and her sons BC aren't the same.

I assume by ascue you mean his last name is different. If you want to correct it and it's not a typo it takes 3-6 months to change. A lawyer in Manila told us that also.

My advice is either to just try with what you have and be honest or postpone the interview like i did and file for a change. In my situation we had no choice but to postpone it and correct the BC, because we would prolly have got denied. We decided to take the extra 5 months or so to get it right and not have to worry about getting denied or worse.

I have a link that shows how to go about a change and lists the requirements. http://www.census.go...irr_ra9048.html

Let me know if i understood your situation right.

actually windchaser if you will check my post history you will see on feb 16th i posted that yove had a problem on her birth certificate we had it corrected by march 6th. she left for her province on feb 20th do to the fact that the airport only flies to her province monday wensday and friday. we had to pay for a clerk from her province to fly from her province to manila on wensday she stayed with yove in her apt. they flew back friday of that week. we had to pay a weeks wage for the clerk and ,buy her ticket both ways. the following monday is feb 27th she applied for a new passport (i guess it faster in her province) she had the passport the following week.

now the problem with yoves birth certificate was typo of her first name they made her first name look like LLovemyl instead of Yovemyl they made the y look like two L's instead of a Y maybe last names require more work or maybe you were unaware that the clerks can go to manila to correct the problem providing your willing to pay for there time. thats more then 100 dollars plus yove stayed with the clerck the whole time. also her family is very well established family ,and well known in the community im not sure why. but it took exactly 2 weeks. feel free to send me an private tell if you require additional proof im sure i can show you her new birth certificate, i also had a lawyer involved from manila who has double checked everything and its in order

Ok, a better way to phrase the question. Are the court papers required? All she has are the contracts with annotations. I am wondering if she has to go and get them from the court.

from reading all the boards and seeing all the AR's all i can say is if you can think about it so can they. dont leave anything to chance i recommend overkill rather then being unprepared. if she can get the paperwork get it dont give them a reason to give you an AR. ive gotten on a first name basis with the embassy personal as well as they office at my local congressman. if yove gets an AR it will not be for any reason that anyone can forsee. i call the embassy every day as well as my congressmans office just to get additional information and to keep my name and yove's name well known. there the ones that told me to get the CENOMAR. i know there government workers ,but there still human beings , and the more constantly you make yourself known to them the less likely that there will be reason to question your intent (at least thats what i hope)

I have a question. When my fiance goes in for her interview I know one of the documents she needs is her annullment. Does she take the marrage contract with annotations alone or does she also need the court papers from the annullment?

bring everything no matter how trivial it seems

Thanks,

Rob

ive never seen this off the front page ever was shocked to see it fall off. anyways 14 days left till yove's interview. question she was goin to stay in her province up north. but i think she would get her visa faster staying in her apt, in makati what do the masses think or know ?

I've been asking the same question recently and here's what I found out. Your right, she should get her visa faster if she stays in/close to Manila. From what I understand, the courier (DELBROS) service takes about 3-5 days delivery in Manila, 5-7 to other major cities (Cebu, Legaspi, Bocolad, etc...), and 7-10 days for other provinces. After the interview, when you are paying the courier, you can tell them where you want the visa delivered. Hope that helps. I'm getting excited too, 24 days until my wife's interview!

thanks for the information

also i noticed someone elses has an apt this week must of gotten misfiled

A friend of mine told me about the latest additional requirement for a CENOMAR to be submitted, starting March 15, 2005. I think the previous
post got the website. According to my friend it will take NSO 2 weeks to process the request. She said she requested online, paid over-the counter in the bank. Today is her interview I told her print her request and the duplicate copy of her payment just incase the CO will ask for her CENOMAR considering that it took effect only this month.

Good luck

sam

The CENOMAR has long been listed on the website as a requirement but in practice is refused. Where does your friend get this March 15, 2005 date? Do you mean 2006? Was your friend asked this at the interview?

Unless someone has actually been asked for this document, I still am told by reliable sources that it's not required. I would ask those that have had recent interviews.

Has anyone had recent experience to the contrary? If the poster really meant 2005 above, I'm sure someone would have mentioned it by now in their interview reviews.

Joel

it is accepted for K1's according to the embassy, but they dont require it. and its is up to the CO to accept any paperwork as valid not just the CENOMAR, so its up to the embassy to decide if its accurate or not. birth certificates marriage licences etc. etc. can all be refused by the embassy if the suspect there is some kind of issue with it. this is how they explained it to me when i called up

actually it was through the state dept that told us to get the form. my b-day is may 4th yoves is may 5th the hopeful day of the wedding is may 6th they forwarded the request to congressman delahunts office in my district who's office contacted me ,and said to get the Cenomar form to prevent a possible AR. i then called Sandy at 5184 ext who told me that its not required, but it doesn't hurt to have. she never told me that it wouldnt be accepted. do you know where you recieved that information that stated that the no longer accept it ???

CENOMAR is needed. Here's the link to confirm that. Refer to #8. By the way the website was updated less than a month so your packets don't show the latest update yet.

Smile everyone and enjoy your numbered days in the Philippines.

ok i called the state dept an answered my previous question. however they told me to avoid an AR you need to have a Document that shows you were never married before, the women told me that its attained at the same place as the CFO does anyone know what this form is ?

The consulate in Manila will no longer accept a CENOMAR at the interview. The ability to get false official documents with a bribe even from the NSO coupled with the fact that there is no divorce in the Philippines and the difficulty in obtaining anullments has caused the consulate to distrust applicant supplied CENOMAR certificates. The consulate will apply for the CENOMAR when they want the verification.

My wifes K-3 interview in Manila is one month away (4/27) and I'm just stressed about making sure I have everything necessary. I'm going to list here everything I have prepared for the actual interview. If you see anything I've left out or ANYTHING...I'm open to suggestions.

1. 2 notarized Affidavits of Support (with supporting documents)
-Employer letter, letter from officer of bank, etc..
2. 5 original recent paycheck stubs (Showing over 125% poverty level)
3. Original Roth IRA investment statement
4. Over 200 photos (wedding and other trips to the Phil.)
5. 3 most recent cell phone bills ($500+)
6. Evidence showing my 3 previous trips to the Phil. in 2005
-including iteneraries, boarding passes, hotel confirmations, dining receipts, etc...
7. Evidence to show my family (Mother, father, brother) came to the Phil. to attend the wedding and will
be coming again now during the interview (copies of their tickets/iteneraries).
8. Statement from bank verifying wire transfers to help suport my wife
9. I have my original W-2's and Turbo-Tax print outs of all my taxes for the past 3 years. Now, these
are just print outs but of course include the 1040's. They are not "certified copies" of my tax returns but
I do have the original W-2's to back it all up. Is this okay?
10. Original NOA letters and NVC letter / appointment letter
11. NSO Birth Cert's and NSO Marriage Certs. (with originals)
12. 2x2 photos's (plenty)
13. Notarized co-sponsor Affidavit of Support (if needed) with 3 recent year taxes w/original pension letters
and original title of house.
14. Passports valid for at least 5yrs. out

And finally, I will be there to "go over" possible questions prior to and attend the interview with my wife.

Whew! I think that's it. I just want to make sure that we are 110% ready. I hope this may have helped others who are in the same situation and trying to prepare.

Is there any other information I should know or anything else to help me prepare? Thanks for all the information.

wow and i thought i was overprepared you make me look bad lol

hey jnlmn how are you able to keep your beard lol  if i even let a stubble grow out i get the sad pouty face and tons of grief ( i miss my goatee)

I simply refused to get rid of it. LOL Not that I don't love her, but I look like a dork without at least a mustache--I think so anyway--I get bad ingrowns when I shave it off, and I do live in MN where at least some form of facial hair is a good thing. I think she may even let me be stubborn in this.

Of course, the other night on the phone, she did hint that she liked me without it...

lol may i suggest mach3 razors i feel you may need them shortly.

:D Well, I came on here earlier to see how everyone is doing and was going to type some replies...but I got called away by an incoming TM. Know what?

  Chalk up another APPROVED!! Wooohooooo!!

I haven't got the details yet. Poor woman was starving--she didn't sleep last night and was too nervous to eat this morning--so had to get some food in her. :( We talked for a little bit while she was waiting in line, and she said they were impressed with how organized all the paperwork was, and that the interviewers were very polite. So definite tip there, that ties in with what RebelHeart said: going overboard on organizing and logical presentation of material seems to help. (My final assembled 'document' was over 2.25" thick.)

I will pass on more details when they become available. :D

Thank you for your well-wishes and prayers, PW, R&W, Soul, JoseandHelen--they definitely helped!

And CONGRATULATIONS, too, J&H!!

PurpleDonkey, I'm so sad to hear about the AR. Have they said anything further on how long it might take them to figure out she is who she says she is and not someone else with the same name? At least...I got the feeling that is what they are doing...smack me if I'm wrong there. I pray they clear it up soon.

Andrew, I'm really curious to find out what Lira is embarassed about! Come on--share with the group.

Danoco - you asked about age? Lyra is 28 years old and I'm 34...so she's over 25, but we're not too far apart in age (which may also affect how they look at the cases).

Good luck everyone, and thanks!!!

Waiting - I can't believe they've kept you in limbo all this time! OMG! :clock: What are they waiting for? Even at the glacial speed of government, they should have figured something out by now. Heck, even the VA works faster than that!

I can't imagine wating that long. :crying:

I hope and pray they get things taken care of soon.
