Good morning/afternoon MAY biggrin.gif !

WE are approved!!!

Our attorney received our NOA2 hardcopy yesterday saying that we ware approved September 7 , but on the USCIS website still shows; Current Status: Case received and pending.

we are so happy!! Finally after 16 long months we are approved!

Thank you so much for being there for me when I needed the most!!! Thank you heart.gif rose.gif !

Ryan you are next!!!

Umh 16 months? Is that how long you guys have been together Alex?
That USCIS computer system is pretty weird ... You've almost had your approval a week ago ...
I'm so happy for you sweetie ... you deserve it!! luv.gif
And yea Ryan good.gif you're next!!! star_smile.gif

Congratulations Alex!!!!!!!! Couldnt happen to a nicer person.

And.....if I paid a lawyer $2000 for this and he forgot to pay the USCIS.....I think he'd find out where Jimmy Hoffa is.

Anyway.......thanks guys for the well wishes and CONGRATULATIONS. I can only hope you're right with the prediction.

Ryan I've been reading this site a bit more lately due to my fiancee linking me to topics relating to our situation and I'd just like to thank you for being so rational and supportive of people on the site. We're all in this together, and besides our signifigant others, this is one of the main places we all look to for support. Your contribution is not overlooked!

Thank you all for the kind words. Means a lot.

And, Mud, love the Cartman avatar. Anytime I need a laugh, I just pop in an episode.

Great topic today. I think we all have heard things like this. I think for some couples going through this, this is a valid question. "So how do you know she's not running around up there", "That's a long time you have to wait, a lot of things can happen between now and then", "Why in the hell are you going through all of this when you can have your pick right here?"

To be honest, I don't mind when people pose some of these questions. I understand their point of view. Now, I don't think it's cool for someone to be suggesting that you get something on the side to hold you over. That's nothing but an a$$hole with no regard for other people's feelings right there.

But, at the same time, I cant blame most people who pose these questions in a rational manor, either. A lot of people have been hurt before. Cheated on, had their hearts broken.....etc. They have no sense of trust anymore. To them, a situation like we are in, where our fiancees are thousands of miles away, is nothing but a joke and a heartache waiting to happen.

I'm sure that a percentage of couples going through this don't have as strong a relationship as they may think. For that, I think this whole drawn-out process is a good thing. It gives plenty of time for a couple to see if they have what it takes. To see if they really have true love and commitment. To see if their relationship can really withstand this test.

I will bet you that the divorce rate for couples who have gone through this is MUCH lower than that of naturalized citizens. It's not possible for us to be irrational. It's not possible for us to make hasty decisions. Before it's all said and done, we all will have somewhere close to a year or more without the person we love......to think if he/she is REALLY the one for us. Through this process, you get to see what the other person is TRULY like. Are they someone who can regognize what they have and be willing to wait for it.....or do they give up and settle for someone who is actually avaiable for them.

The highs are rarely all that high for us...because our fiancees are not here to share it with us. The lows are very very low for us.....because of the very same reason. THIS is when you see what kind of relationship you have.

I tell Chantal all the time that this is the BIGGEST test that we will ever be given. If we can make it through this, then we can make it through anything.

Anyway.....I was glad to see this topic brought up today. Because, as much as we complain about this whole process......there are some great points to it as well.

We know exactly what we have, and exactly what we are getting.

Many couples never know what they are getting until it's too late.

Happy Thursday everyone. One day closer to having the love of our lives in our arms.

Ryan

You should be getting yours anytime now…

Hi Ryan

How are things on your side?

Hopefully you will get your NOA2 soon!

Thank you my friend. Things are about as good as they can be considering the circumstances. Just day by day. I refuse to get my hopes up that ours is coming soon, and trying to keep Chantal's hopes on a nice even keel, too.

But if anyone deserves to have theirs approved in about 10 minutes.....it's you, Alex. You tell that guy I said he's a lucky man.

I wish I could say the list helps us. Even a little.

When it was working, it was awesome. We were able to watch us go from 150 to 80. It gave us something to look forward to each day.

But, when you rely on something like that list to keep your spirits up each day......when it's not working anymore......well.......it was a rough few weeks before we found out what was going on.

Anyway......we've been stuck on 80 for about a month now. If you're looking to see which VJ members have updated their profiles after approval, then the list is worth a look.

Otherwise, it's a total kick in the seeds.

Hi Melannie biggrin.gif !!!

Still in London ?

Good morning, Alex.

Just forget Igor ever existed. The list has been down for more than a month. The first two weeks Chantal and I watched the list go nowhere and just got more and more depressed until we found out that there is a computer system error with VSC that is keeping the list from being updated.

Hey all......hope you're having a good morning.....or as good as possible on a Monday. I was glad to see that the processing times at Vermont have gone down. I check that graph pretty much every day, and it's now trending downward with the average processing time down about 10 days.

Where did you see this? Please post the link. I'm a link junkie! Then I can forward the info to the Fiancee - he won't come on here.

I heard too about VSC, and wonder why. I have a friend that has filed with them. I hope this doesn't happen to CSC too.

I really do feel this is our week May people!

Just go to the very top of this page and click on "Processing Times". The graph for Vermont I-129F will be right there on the top right.

For myself as one of those at the CSC I am sorry to say I have little sympathy for the timelines of the VSC and CSC merging.

It seems unfair that b/c we live in one state we should be delayed waiting to be with our loved ones, and yet it happens. It would be my hope in the future the two service centres will run concurrent so nobody feels disadvantaged.

Right now being away from John is VERY hard. He has asked me to stop counting the days but I feel I am going mad some days. 2 months 28 days since I was with him.

I meant 3 months 28 days sad.gif

I'm going through the very same thing. Chantal is having a very hard time with this. That leaves me trying to comfort her most nights.....telling her to stay positive.....it will all be over with soon.......blah blah blah.

The problem is.....some of those days I'm comforting her.....I'm down in the dumps myself. As many of you know....it's a real bi*tch trying to comfort someone when you feel the same way they do.

I want to know what is going on. I want an explanation from these people as to why we seem to be at a standstill. I think each of us deserves to be updated. They have our e-mail addresses. I signed up for the email service 4 months ago and havent received one email yet.

Hang in there Dairy Farmer. Remember that getting mad or sad or upset only hurts you and your psyche. It won't speed this process up, and might make things harder on John. Remember that he's having a very hard time, too.

I'm not an eternal optimist by any means. Anyone who has read what I've written in here knows that. LOL
But, I do know that its vitally important to control our emotions through this. Keeping the downs from getting way down means a lot.

Try a new approach when you talk. Think of things that you will do when you get here and talk about them. A new house, a child, a vacation, the wedding. HAVE phone sex, webcam sex....whatever you have the capacity to do.

Just get up in the morning.......each morning......and be thankful that you have found the one person that you cant live without. A lot of people never find that type of connection. Focus on that notion...and try not to let your attention divert away from it for too long.

Did I mention to have phone sex or webcam sex?

Have a great Friday everyone,

Ryan

You DONT punish good people for trying to do things the RIGHT way. THIS PROCESS ACTS AS A DETERRENT, and encourages illegal border crossings. I dont want to guess the number of people who have started this process, and have said "screw it" 6 monts down the road and just found a hole in the fence.

The Fair Tax would severly hamstring illegal aliens by not providing them a monthly stipend that lawful citizens would get. But do you think the Congress wants it put before them? Hell no they dont........because it takes power and money away from them.

Congress throws money every day towards bolstering programs that benefit them. How much money would it take to put an additonal few thousand employees at each Center in the country. I gurantee you it would be a lot less money than the hundreds of millions they pour in to programs such as a $249 billion farm bill that abandons efforts to roll back agriculture subsidies.

WHAT?????

Okay....how about 248.5 Billion.....and 5 Hundred Mil towards making the VISA Applicaton process in the U.S. a 1-2 month venture?

Nah.....they dont get anything out of it. Only the citizens would.

About the 4th time that Chantal came to see me, back at the beginning of the year, she was stoped at customs and interrogated for roughly 2 hours. They accused her of being a prostitute, and wanted to know how much I "was paying her".

After that they told her that she would not be allowed to come here until her K-1 is approved.

Now, this is the MOST innocent woman I've ever known in my life. No criminal record, steady job, nothing that would prompt this....other than she came a few times to see me...and once stayed for a month.

I cant think about this for too long....because anger quickly encompasses me.

Let's contemplate giving illegal aliens amnesty.....and treat innocent, harmless, women like criminals who try to do this the right way.

Exactly right. If you don't let it go and try to dwell on something else for at least a good portion of the day, it just drags you further and further downward.

I check-in to read here and check Igor's list every day.....then I'm usually off. If I stayed to tell you how I'm feeling most days........it would just be one big pity party.

I will say this: Any time my government has ever needed anything from me, monetary or otherwise, even at times when they are asking millions of people for the same thing.....they are beating down my door with letters, phone calls, etc.

The first time that I've ever needed anything from them......they first ban that thing from coming to the country until the process is completed......and then drag their damn feet on the process itself.

There's going to be some spring cleaning from Congress on down one of these years....because little by little.....people are getting fed up with sh*t like this.

Hope all of you are doing well. Just checking in to see the latest news. I think sometimes its better for me to just put things out of my mind rather than talk about them. So, anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hello to you all, and hopefully we'll all have this go faster than any of us think.

Have a great Tuesday,

Ryan

They took my money today and our NOA1 is in the books!

Great to finally have this show on the road!!!!!

Congrats RyanandChantal. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Hope you have patience lol.

Thank you so much Alexandra and William. That means a lot. It's a very happy day here because we've wanted to see the ball get rolling for so long, and today it finally did.

But, William, unfortunately, after reading for hours on this site, I'm well aware that today's jubilance will be tomorrows Advil.

Both of you take care and have a great weekend.

Ryan
