K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsbooking flights
wait do not buy ticket tell everything is done. airlines strikes plus anything can happen tell visa is in hand. Delta airlines is having some great tickets for sale last two months. they lowered their ticket from manila to us 140 dollars. u can fly manila to japan to detriot or atlanta for 900 dollar. Plus since its total ticket booked thru delta your luggue allowance is two 23 kilo plus two check in. if you buy international then domastic ticket your be paying that extra 25 or 50 dollar per check in.

PhilippinesFinancial situation (co sponsor) - Philippines

Hey some updates guys :) I must have missread the poverty guidelines for military since I am not active I do not fall under the 100% guidelines I need to to follow the 125% poverty level. I currently make 19-21k a year at my current job but with my W2 from the reserves last year I made 5,500. I know you guys said to show them my current pay stubs. which I will do and it will calculate to around 20.5k im assuming. but will they add in my reserve w2 form? and not just the paystub. I am an E-4 I get around 264 a month from it. that is not counting the AT I do per year. that is how I ended up at 6k. if they do will I need to explain this to them? Thank you again very much :)

Thank you all for the responses. I have not started the process yet, I'm trying to get a full understanding of everything I need to do before starting the paperwork. The one thing that is troubling is, no my daughter isn't a USC yet. I was there at the birth and signed the birth certificate but I was not able to do anything more since I needed to be back at work and she lives in a small town in South Cotabato. I was under the understanding that if she was approved then our daughter could come a long with her to the US. I understand their are other forms that I would need to fill out for this to be accomplished. Secondly regarding active duty. I have two options go on a deployment in june to afghanistan. Where I was told I could expedite the VISA process. Or to go full time active duty I would need to wait until December 2014, where my CO would grant my release from my contract to sign a new contract to go back to active Duty. I have been patient seeing as I needed to do two years in the reserves before I could get out on my contract and go back to active. I was released from active duty on December 2012. My situation is really crazy haha I've been getting stressed out a lot recently, it seems theres so many hoops to jump through just to get this done. Once again I thank you all for your responses it's reassuring to hear from people who have been through these situations. smile.png

I see, that's not the greatest news I could hope for but at least it's something. Hopefully the letter from my CO stating I'm going active duty by December 2014/Jan 2015 and the income I will make will show them that I'm more than capable of supporting my fiancee. As well as them accepting my cousin as a co sponsor. thank you for your help all I can do is hope. I appreciate you being straight forward about everything. Out of curiosity did you have a co sponsor? Also if there is anyone else out there that did file with a co sponsor I'd appreciate your feedback, Thank you :)

PhilippinesFinancial situation (co sponsor) - Philippines

Good Evening,

I am currently trying to file my K-1 Visa to get my fiance and my daughter here from the Philippines. I am having some hiccups a long the road, regarding the financials. I did not make enough last year to support my fiancee and our daughter according to my tax statements. but I was transitioning from active duty to reserves and was without work for 3-4 months. I currently am employed full time and would meet the requirements had I worked a full year. Also I will be going back to active duty as soon as they both arrive. Which will put me well over the required requirements. Would they take this into account? Also I'd like to use my cousin as my co sponsor. He is currently active duty Navy as well and is like a brother to me, he is more than willing to help me and my fiancee and daughter out. Would it look bad to use my cousin and not say a mother or father or brother/sister? I appreciate all the help guys thank you :)

PhilippinesDay 9 in the USA...Funny Things She Asked
QUOTE (Frank+Jocelyn @ Mar 29 2008, 01:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We arrived March 20th and so far she has kept me smiling (in more ways than one innocent.gif ). Her questions so far:
  • While landing at the Atlanta airport: What happened to all those trees? (no leaves yet)
  • At Taco Bell: You mean they just let you drink all the Coke you want?
  • Also at Taco Bell: We have to clean our own table?
  • At the clothing store: Can we check the kids section for my size?
  • At home: How do I get the shower to come on?
  • At home: The washer will not spin (lid was open)
  • What is a tampon?
  • How do they know what the weather will be tomorrow?
  • Is this the biggest bag of rice they have?
  • Why do all the ice cubes look the same? (not made by busting ice from a plastic tube)
  • Where does the pee go when you flush on the airplane?
  • You can really make free cell phone calls on nights and weekends?
  • You only take one shower a day?
  • Old people have jobs?
  • They let you take the shopping cart outside?
  • At Wal-Mart: They let you check your own stuff? How do they know you wont steal it?
  • Why does the traffic light have a Yellow?
  • Did you see how those drivers just stopped for us when we crossed the street?
  • Why would anybody want to get a tan?
  • Why don't they have cheese popcorn at the movies?
  • You can make popcorn in the microwave?
  • At the grocery store: Where is the MSG?
  • They let you put the gas in your car yourself?
  • What is that like a rat in the tree? Answer: squirrel
  • What is turkey?
  • College students don't wear uniforms?
  • How does the police man know if you are speeding?
We are having such a great time. I have never smiled so much!

Stay tuned...more to come

How adorable, Im sure u just cant stop smiling. Im looking forward to the same kind of questions too LOL. Congratulations on your new life together.

PhilippinesAFTER NOA2, CALLING OR WAITING FOR LETTERS FROM NVC & USEM? WHICH IS BETTER
I would call the NVC in about a week or 2. I dont know how fast the CSC is moving now, but it took them a month just to ship our file to the NVC after we were approved. They send them in bundles. Once it gets to the NVC, K-1 are processed really fast and will only be at the NVC for about a week and will be on its way to embassy. The NVC will send you a letter that they have sent it to the embassy.

PhilippinesCEMAR/CENOMAR document needed for interview

I think you are going to hear from a lot of people -- lawyers are a waste of money... You can complete the entire process yourself... This entire process is easy if you can take your time.. Plus everything you need to know can be found on this WEB site.

Ditto! My fiance's dad is a lawyer and we never asked him for any help. Plus almost everyone here is very helpful so you can always ask and get reliable answers since they all are based from their experience/s.

PhilippinesAnyone here from the Philippines?

Oh GOD, thats a lot of waiting. I hope you will get your NOA2 soon or anytime this week. Your case already past in 6 months, they should work on it. But im glad you and your love keeping the patience and holding on. I salute on that. I pray and hope for you NOA2 to arrive.

Oh I know. It's been driving us crazy the past weeks. It's all we could ever think about and how much we're both dying to be together again. Making us wait this long is absolute torture! But all we can do is to wait, wait, and wait some more, because in the end we do know that it's worth it. Thank you and we hope so too! Good luck guys!

PhilippinesAnyone here from the Philippines?

They should hire more staff to do the reviewing of petition papers to keep us all going. Our American citizen fiances deserve a good service in return of paying their taxes!

Not only that, remember that they also did pay for the processing of the petition itself. It actually would have been fine if they changed the info on their website. It's misleading and have just made us all think that we'll get through the service centers in 5 months.

PhilippinesIs it really such a bad thing for a filipina to be with a foreign man?
Hi! I'm a Filipina who came from a middle class family and graduated from one of the top universities here in the Philippines. Born and raised here but worked and lived in the US for more than a year and that's when I met my fiance.

As to your question Maxx 121, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Filipina having a relationship with a foreign man. We are very much free to choose who to love and be with regardless of race, age, religion, etc. And given the fact that we've been colonized by different races for hundreds of years, it is not a surprise anymore and there isn't any rule set in stone for this. The thing is that here in the Philippines, whenever people see a Filipina with a foreign man (especially an older one), they stereotype her as someone who's with you just for the money or the citizenship. I can't blame them though, 'coz unfortunately some Filipinas really do this. But then again, NO ONE is in the position to judge. :bonk:

Regarding us letting almost everything slide, that's because we've been raised by our parents not to start fights with other people. As long as we can endure what they are saying or doing, then we let it pass. :innocent:

I don't want to be rude or discriminating. It is a fact that scary, angry, controlling, stalker type of guys would normally come from slums. Uneducated males who doesn't have anything to lose. I, myself, experience being whistled at or rudely talked to (given that I am wearing decent clothes---shirt and jeans) by these people. And obviously, i would just let it slide and pretend not to hear anything for I should know better and I don't really want to mess with them 'coz you'll never know, they might just attack me with a knife or something. :help:

Don't get me wrong but there's a ton of nice people here, but just like in every other country, the bad ones still do exist.

AND LESSON #1 whenever you come to the Philippines, try to AVOID DODGY AREAS to minimize the occurrence of such things.

PhilippinesCFO seminar

Thanks for the quick response that's very helpful Posted Image....so that means that I can only have this seminar once passport has been sent back to me with K1-visa, right? TIA Posted Image

No biggie! ^_^ I've actually seen some members who attended the seminar in advance and just came back for the sticker after they have received their passport with the visa on it. I prefer to just have it all done at the same time once I get my passport from the embassy to eliminate the hassle of going back and forth. So it really is up to you.
mrs. careyFemalePhilippines2011-04-30 10:46:00
PhilippinesCFO seminar
I'm sure that the CFO seminar is required. They put a sticker on your passport and that is checked at the airport before departure. I already did that before for another type of US Visa (J1) and yes, they checked it at the airport.

As for the passport, it should be valid for at least 6 months.

Hope this helped! :)

PhilippinesCENOMAR

i got my CENOMAR already and its purpose was for passport or travel..im preparing in advance so when i get the packets,my documents are all ready. im applying for K1 visa.My concern is that,is d purpose of my CENOMAr ok or do i need to get a CENOMAR for marriage purposes?

i really need your help and guidance guys!thanks!

Hi! I got my CENOMAR last week. I also got confused when hey asked me if it is for travel to the US or for marriage. And I was, like can both be put there? And they were like, no. Haha So I just decided to go with the US travel purpose since it's for the visa anyway. :)

Philippineshow long after the medical???
Results are forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila right after the medical exam and is valid for 6 months. It's best if you can have your interview as soon as possible though to avoid any problems. You also have to consider the validity of your NOA2. If your target interview date is after its validity, you have to call the US Embassy to ask for an extension.
