Yikes! They've gotten sooo intense over the past years, I guess? They were all cranky then for who knows what reasons, but I was never asked of so many questions. Just a couple of questions and they also asked for Php 150.00 for some photocopied booklet I never had any use for. LOL laughing.gif

 

Oh well... to the OP, It always pays off to be prepared! So just bring every single document you have to the seminar! Good luck and hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Challenge them (?) or read Item # 4 on the CFO requirements list at it pretty much handles ANYTHING the counselors wants to ask for:

 

  1. Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and

 

 

OMG! Completely missed #4! Thanks for correcting me and no thanks to my selective reading! That's complete BS! I guess I'm just so pissed and fed up with all the gov't bs they impose on everyone. I can understand getting consent for people marrying at the age of 21 and below, I think 22 and up should not be asked for consent anymore. Seems like just another money grabbing scheme.

Hi! I did my CFO seminar when I was 24, back in 2011. I was never asked to get an Advice Letter to Marry from the city hall. I'm thinking things might have changed over the years, but the CFO website is not asking for that as a requirement. Oh, and if they ever tell you that you need it, challenge them to show you where in their list of requirements on the website says that it's required for a certain age group! Ha! wink.png

Hiya! Tell her not to worry about it. The other VJ guys are right, the girl she talked is just confused. I met my fiance March of 2010 while I was doing my internship in the US. We lived together until I had to leave 'coz I still have my last semester in college here in the Philippines to finish. He sent the petition after I left the US in September 2010. So that means we've only been actually together for 6 months then. He came here last December to see me, meet my family, ask for my parents' blessing, and officially propose. :luv: It doesn't matter how long or short you guys have been together, what matters is that it's genuine. I'm sure that it's very obvious when a relationship is not. She'll be just fine. :thumbs:

We all are on the same boat. And there's nothing else we could do other than to WAIT, I guess. I've been very patient since it seemed like everything's been going smoothly with VSC before when my fiance submitted the petition. But now, I am seriously losing it! It's such a horrible feeling not knowing when you'll see each other again. There may be Skype dates or phone calls but it can get tiring at some point. I still believe that we'll all get it and we'll be with the loves of our life sooner than we know it. VJ is awesome and it keeps me busy. Plus, at least you feel happy for people getting approved every day and somehow that gives us a glimpse of hope.
