K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 approved!!!!
Congrtulation !!

For papers, please refer to the K1 guide..

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.
3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.
6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.
7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

NOTE: Tip Regarding Vaccination Records

The K-1/2 beneficiary will be required by the embassy to have a "medical" done prior to the visa interview. Part of this interview will require that previous vaccinations are documented and potentially additional required vaccinations performed. Once this is complete the doctor will note this on a DS-3025 form that will be sent to the embassy. During the medical appointment request an official copy of the vaccination records from the physician (or a copy of the completed DS-3025 if they will give it to you) as this will be helpful to have on hand in the future (specifically it can be helpful when filing for Adjustment of Status if your DS-3025 form is not available).

Hi everyone!
Here is my experience of 1 hour ago...:

I didnt have the "chance " to choose immigration offiicier. But didnt matter..

Him : Why are you here?
Me: for vacations

Him : do you know someone there?
: yes, my boyfriend.

So he took my passport and saw ive been visiting him 4 within 2 years then :

: how long did you stay in february?
: 2 weeks i think

: and in december ?
: same around 2 weeks

: so why are you staying 4 weeks now?
: well i have prepared a vocational training and i just passed my exam and my contract just ended up. So why not staying 4 weeks.

He smiled and said : what are you going to do when you go back to france?
: i may have an interview to work at airport in france so hope its going to work!

He took my finger prints, pic and stampes my passport!

Didnt need any proof of ties even if I brought some (electricity company certiicate translated, bank account, letter from brother..) but i do recommand to bring it though.

Hace a nice day everyone! :)

I had to translate certificate from electricity company that certify that my brother and I have a contract with them. Also I wrote down a letter that my brother has to sign that says he expects me to come back on the due date.

Id like to know if anyone can correct my English translation?

Thank you very much! Also, do I need to provide a letter saying that I hereby certify that the folowing translated documents are translated by myself and that it’s the right translation?

You can have an estimated time about when you may get NOA2 if you file your timeline.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresexpedite request for non-military

Hi.

My fiance's dad is sick, he is having dialysis currently because of diabetes. And his step mom is in the ICU receiving blood transfers almost daily (we dont know why, but we are thinking, its complications) can this be considered as one of the expedite criteria? He took his emergency leave for a week (Feb 26-Mar5, flew all the way from Hawaii to CA because of this and because his dad send him sms through the red cross. He is in the military, we are thinking to call them and tell them about this. but before doing so, we're not sure if this is an enough reason to be expedited.

Help please.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope both of them gets better soon. I am not sure, but it wouldn't hurt to try, you know. I say, just call them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresexpedite request for non-military
OH. :( Darn it! So when they give you the reference number, it doesn't mean that it's already up for an expedite. I wish they could just tell you then that these are the criteria and if your case don't suit any of them then you don't get an expedite. :bonk: I was thinking we got lucky or something. So much for having a glimpse of hope. Thanks ya'll for the responses. I appreciate it! And the waiting continues........ :clock:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresexpedite request for non-military
My fiance called USCIS this afternoon to follow up on our case since it's already past the 5 month waiting period. They said that he should wait 30 more days to get a notice. Obviously he doesn't want to wait so he requested for an expedite and they gave him a receipt number. Would that actually work? I just can't really believe that they have since he's not in the military. Has anyone here been told of the same thing before?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 to NVC
Hi! We got our approval notice on the 23rd of March and received the hard copy on the 28th. It was received by the NVC on the same day and my fiance kept calling them since then and finally was able to get our MNL case number last Thursday, the 31st. I've paid the Visa fee in BPI and pre-registered for the medical. I still have to wait 'til tomorrow though to see if USEM already got it then schedule my interview, hopefully. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Interview questions in USEM Manila please
Hi! Check out the reviews here: http://www.visajourn...nty=Philippines Most members post the questions asked by the consul. You'll get a lot of useful ideas from those. Though common questions are:

-Name of your petitioner
-When did you meet and how?
-Did he come to visit you?
-When was the last time you've seen each other?

Good luck!

You may also create an account with them so you can be notified through e-mail and/or text message regarding any change/s on your case. It will not specifically say though what they need from you if ever you get an RFE, but it will be stated on the letter that will be mailed to you. :)

If your case is complicated, then YES. If it's not, then certainly and definitely, NO. VJ guides and people here who are willing to help are more than enough to answer all your questions. My husband's dad and grandfather are both lawyers but we never asked for any help; just on notarizing some of the documents needed by the Philippine Embassy for report of marriage and passport amendment. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F: Does Manila Accept Co-Sponsorship?
USEM Manila is strict when it comes to the financials. So far I have noticed that it's usually the basis of denials. They do accept co-sponsors and it's a lot better to do it that way if you yourself can't meet the poverty guidelines. But you being unemployed right now might be a problem.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresstart K1-Visa application process while in the US?

Did it apply to a previous J-1?

Another option for you is to get married now (can be a simple yet dignfied courthouse ceremony if you like), file for adjustment of status, and then have a bigger celebration with family at the time of your choosing.  This would mean that you don't have to leave the US, you don't have the tight timeline for getting a K-1 by the fall, and you'll be eligible for a work permit much sooner.  It's perfectly legitimate.

Ditto hmh33's advise. If you guys are 100% sure and dead in love, I would also recommend just getting married now and adjusting your status. It will save you a lot of time and money. I was in the same situation a few years back. I was on my J-1but I opted to go back home, graduate, and then come back here to get married. The K-1 route is such a long process compared to just adjusting your status, and if we've known this before, we would have just gone that route instead, then went back home and graduated school. How many more months do you still have left in uni?

Just continue the process.. Just visit your fiancé right now, take care of your fiancé and when everything goes well on your process and you'll get approved sooner (you may request for an expedite) and then you will both fly back to USA and get married there. My thoughts and prayers for you both. Be strong and keep the faith.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOriginals required in Consulate interview
Everybody,

I'm a new member - just joined this morning - but I've been browsing this site for months.

I have a question relating to the originals I need to supply at my K-1 interview in Sydney. My fiancee in the US is supplying a copy of her birth certificate and US passport for the I-129F (birth certificate for proof of citizenship and passport for entry stamps to Australia to visit me in the last two years). I want to know if I will have to provide her original passport and birth certificate in my interview to back up the copies she's sending in the petition?

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThis is probably a very silly question, but...

The NVC doesn't collect your visa fee payment. That's done once the case, which will be assigned a consular number, reaches Sydney.

Cool. Well I guess we'll get the NOA1 soon and then the real wait begins... >_>

Except when it comes to the embassy, they will go right to the beneficiary.

Cool. Just so I understand...

NOA1 and NOA2 go to my USC fiancee petitioner. Then the approved petition goes to NVC who collect payment and give me a case number. Then it's forwarded to the Sydney consulate where I go for my interview?
