Tammy or anyone have you heard this before? browneygirl , my best friend is for k3 visa , from my city,,,,when he called embassy they told him his case moved from immigrant section to non immigrant section and that was done in December 2007.,,,,,,,,,,,,,, this is what they told them , so it can take time , remember that , december 2007 and now there is big time difference , browneygirl The only sense i can make of this is that she said it was in the immigrant division cuz he will be staying in the US and now has been moved to the non immigrant division. Maybe this means wont be too much longer. K-1 is considered a non immigrant visa. Now maybe all that is left to do is what they do for non immigrants when they apply for visas who knows just a thought. She did say this is the last phase of the administrative process. I wonder what the color of the stickers mean? When is the best time to call the embassy? My fiance has called several times and has never been able to get thur, he says he go thur some automated voice system and when the phone finally rings it automatically disconnects on him. She said they are doing everything they can for in the future to have a timeline on AP. That she understands how horrible it is no knowing anything. Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)	DOS answers	Today the lady at the DOS told me "We arent the ones who work your file, we just work the phones." What happened to the USCIS announcement back in April that 95-98% of security clearances will last for only 30 days and the other 2% will end in 60 days.The DOS website states most are done in 60days. I think our files just sit until they run the clearance which probably "is" only 60days.Meanwhile, our lives are on hold till some government worker decides to start working on our cases. Like our lives havent been on hold long enough. I think with the kind of money we pay for this process we should get better service. And there should be a max timeframe. We should also have the option to pay more for expedited service. Just like we do to get our passports. I think they tell us AP and nothing else cuz they definitely dont want to say nobody has worked your file yet although we have had it for the last 3-4 months and dont know if we will get to it in the next 3 months either. I called the other day and asked the status of our case they always say its in adminstrative processing they wont give me any other info. I even tried to get tricky and say how long have you had our case and the lady said since the interview. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. They wont give you any indication that its even being worked on or anything. I got the same letter from the embassy as well a month ago when my congressman requested an expedite due to personal circumstances. Tammy- you are a blessing, you are always so positive, supportive, and encouraging. I dont know how you do it. Im waiting for the day you will post that your husband has his visa in hand Inshallah. I got myself all worked up for nothing. make copies of your passport leave one at home, take one with you put in your suit case other than the one you will be carrying your passport in.Take something to read on the flight cuz its long. My ancestors are from Germany and immigrated here a long time ago before grandparents generation. My maiden name was Deutsch, which I know literally means German. What im curious about is do alot of people carry this last name in Germany or maybe my ancestors couldnt speak english very well and gave them Deutsch when they entered the US as a name because they were from Germany?
