why pay for TFC if you can watch in online.

I watch ABS CBN and GMA program Live Streaming at this site. Watch Philippine programs Live Streaming

Just install the silverlight so the video would play. It has different channels to choose from, and you can also watch some previous episode of your fave program.

While wowowee is airing in the Philippines, you can watch it too here in the US. good.gif good.gif good.gif

Because i'd rather watch on big screen rather than sitting in front of PC

I asked my husband to connect my Pc to our HDTV, so I can just watch it in our TV. BIG screen too.
So I really don't have much problem about it.

My golden rule, it to stay away from LAX, it suxs, it crowded and full of a$$holes.

SFO is easy to deal with as well as Las Vegas.

Plane ticket shouldn't be a problem.

In the contrary, I had my my POE at LAX but I experienced the "real service". I would say, if you arrive in LAX in the evening, or early morning wherein there aren't much arriving passengers, that would be a good thing. My boarder officer who catered me was a filipino so he must have loosen his belt on me plus he is funny. Moreover, there were only 2 plane who arrived so it wasn't much crowded in Tom Bradley-LAX.

If you entered US with a CR1 visa, you have to undergo few more steps with a boarder officer (which shouldn't take long) after you had your fingerprint scanning with an immigration officer at the airport. Unlike K1, they can go ahead and pick up their luggage.

So I would say it depends on the arrival time and also, luck.

Philippineswhat is the cheapest phonecard to the philippines?
Just go to Walmart and buy the AT&T card.I bought the $30 and it lasted quite a while for me.
Or you can asked your hubby to download SKYPE and purchase credits. Its wayyy cheaper than any other. He needs credit card to purchase.
This is what my husband used to call me when I was still in the Philippines.

PhilippinesMedical Examination Discrepancy (Manila)
The doctor knows better.

If the doctor asked your wife if she ever had given birth, and your wife answered No, then your wife should have mentioned that she had a miscarriage. In that way, the doctor in St. Lukes was prompted that her answer is TRUE, that she didn't gave birth, BUT, she had a miscarriage. Because I think, the doctor thought she was telling a lie when doctor had noticed that she did had signs of pregnancy.

SOME cases, even you have lied to people in St. Lukes, but the results shows the truth,(ex. having signs of pregnancy, but you said you didn't have) they will still send you to your interview, because 1.) If you are not positive for HIV, 2.) you just had some discrepancies of the truth, and YES, its really up to the consul to decide if he will approve your Visa.

I AM HAPPY TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO'S VISA WAS GRANTED! (and envy them as well.....) and I am not against those people posting that their Visa was granted, that they recieved good news with their visa process.....

BUT....will it be better if you can just post topics that can help other people who are waiting and almost hopeless people waiting for their visas? or other topic that can be useful while waiting for the visa? (example: What are things you need to know? to prepare? to expect?..blah..blah!)

I know we are all happy for you...but will it make us feel better? I don't think so....coz as for my part it would make me feel more desperate to be with the Love of my Life...coz majority of the topic is "finally, received my visa", "have an interview schedule",blah blah....but what do they respond to them..."Congratulations!" that's it!

Again,I'm just stating what i feel....hate me..i dont care.....but can we just be more helpful and useful here to others who are desperately waiting for their visa approvals? whistling.gif

I can see where your goin. smile.gif But as what others said, all of us have the same thing in common. We will all pass this kind of process its just that sometimes, chances are much favorable to others. As to me, I don't feel deprivation just because I'm not yet done or even near to have an interview schedule just like others. Why? because at the very moment that I said I love you to my boyfriend, now My wonderful husband I know that I will have to go through lotsa pain, feeling hopeless, disappointment, so much anxiety, and patience is even eating me alive just so life is worth living with him. But all I'm doing right now is to spend quality time with my family, close friends, and really enjoying all the things that I won't be able to do when I'm already with my hubby in his country.

Just be patience. Its just like a conveyor. One will soon be at the end of the conveyor belt and the others are just starting to get to the end.

PhilippinesJust a friendly reminder to all balikbayans and travelers to USA
This information is very alarming and I think it's worth sharing to save you from trouble and embarrassment.
A Filipino friend shared this email. His friend who works for Homeland security as Immigration Inspector at LAX ( Los Angeles International Airport )
called him yesterday to share the information that happened last weekend. A FIL-AM citizen who was flying to the Philippines for
vacation was apprehended by an Airport Immigration agent while she was checking in her baggage and going through the X-ray machine.
For some reason, she was randomly checked and was told to open all the envelopes inside her carry-on Coach bag.
They found 10 envelopes addressed to different people in the Philippines .
When all the envelopes were opened, a total of $11,000 cash was discovered.
They asked the traveller if she knew the contents of the envelope.
She said no, because all the envelopes are just "padala" and the senders didn't tell her whether or not there was money inside.
Immigration agents showed her a Policy and guidance stating that it is illegal to import and export over $10,000 in any
Asian countries to prevent the possibility of supporting terrorism.
She was fined $500, her name was "red labeled" by Immigration (means every time she enters and exits the airport, she will be searched 100%),
and she also missed her scheduled flight to the Philippines for being held almost 5 hours. Hard to believe that departing passengers from the
U.S. are also subject to the policy but looks like it is being strictly enforced now.
The lessons learned is before you accept any "padala", make sure the envelopes are open and you physically see the contents of it or just plainly say
"sorry but I can't accept any padala" for your own safety.
This email came from a former U.S. Embassy employee and this could be useful to all balikbayans:
Subject: TRAVEL ADVISORY FROM AMERICAN EMBASSY MANILA
Please share this with your friends and relatives.
Please be informed of the recent travel advisory to the United States .
However, not only pirated VCDs/DVDs are on the hot list. Customs officials are also looking into fake bags like Louis Vuitton, Coach, etc.
Please be informed that the American Association of Publishers (AAP) has also alerted the American customs officers to check out for pirated books.
This information; was given to me by Patricia Judd of the AAP.
Please warn all nursing graduates who plan to take the NCLEX and CGF exams in the States not to bring in these pirated books because there will be a penalty of automatic
deportation as violation of intellectual property rights. If you know anyone going from the Philippines and coming back to the USA , with "pasalubongs" and "padalas,"
please read this important enclosed advisory from the American Embassy in Manila .
Please share with your friends.
Just a friendly reminder: if you have plans of going to the U.S. , please take precautionary measures on all "padalas,"
especially those containing fake/pirated compact discs/DVDs. US Embassy employees have been given an advisory that as US Gov't employees, we should abide by the U.S.laws,
including Intellectual Property Rights (anti-piracy) laws.
As an additional incentive, the Consular Section recently received a report that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) searched the bag of a Filipino entering the
U.S. on NW 72 in Detroit ..
During the search, 70-80 compact discs, 30-40 empty DVD jackets and 10-20 DVDs were found.
Since the travellers were not American citizens, their visas were cancelled and they returned to the Philippines .
If they had been Americans, they could have been subject to arrest and criminal prosecution in addition to civil fines and penalties.
Please remember even ONE pirated item can jeopardize your trip.
Also, the fingerprinting system has successfully been instituted in all port of entries.
I suggest you bring extra identification cards in ad good.gif

PhilippinesCan I divorce my wife for cooking fish?
I know that that the aroma of the dried fish is really sickening. My husband also doesn't want me to cook dried fish (tuyo)too. He condemns it. But come'on, this things can be dealt on. And I know for yourself that divorcing your wife just because she cooked dried fish is pretty preppy. Are you kinda joking us with this post or I think this is just some kind of exaggerated reaction. Most of the wonderful pinays here are having problem with the adjustment of their new lives in America, and I believe your wife just misses too Philippine food, Don't take it away from her.
Just tell your wife next time that she cooks the dried fish outside. So you won't smell it to the top of your lungs.

our original date for the interview was set by NVC because we had a CR-1 application. the new date we got we did the scheduling by calling the 1-909-101-7878 number for the Embassy visa scheduling. The medical you can get anytime you want if you have the interview letter but even if you don't have that yet you can use your copy of the NOA-2 and do the medical. you don't have to schedule that it is a walk in basis at SLEC.

Is that true? that I can have my medical already even I don't have my interview sched yet?

PhilippinesJUST CURIOUS
Taken from real life situation, when I happen to ask my husband why he fell for a Filipina, he straightly said that filipinas has this quality that can "rarely" be found with American woman. I'm not sweeping away all the good qualities of american woman, however, as odd as it may seem filipina are more family oriented and more flexible on decisioning what will be the best in both ways. That's probably the reason why filipinas are being called in names like ( housemaid) to some people who can't seem to comprehend what's the difference of being a career woman and a family woman.
I believe every American man wants to have a wife that can take care of him, the kids, and the house in another way around knows her priorities. A wife whom can he wakes up each morning to kiss and prepares his breakfast rather a wife who just lefts a note " I'm on my business trip to Europe, be back in a week"
Most of filipinas who doesn't come for GC just wants a happy family, when we this, life is pretty much a success.

Philippineswhat to wear going to us?
I know its still a long way before I travel to the US, but I would suggest to just wear anything you feel you'll be fine for long hours of trip. As for me, wherever I travel, I never forget to bring extra undies.

The travel is very long, and its quite uncomfy for us girls to have "it" there for longer that 8 hours.
I'll also add up in my suggestion to bring necessary meds for usual bad feeling (e.g, headache, drowsiness etc.)

Have a safe trip to the US of A. good.gif
