Philippinesquestion about bringing money out of PI
What I can suggest is, she should bring more dollar bills than peso ones since she will just need to pay Php750 for the terminal fee and (x) travel tax (if not yet included in the ticket). If she can exchange peso bills into dollar of at least $150 for her trip while she is still in the Philippines, that would be enough. If she bring too many peso bills and expect to exchange it in the money changer in the airport, chances are she will end up sending it back to the Philippines like I did though I only brought Php 2,000. If she arrives at night in the airport say LAX with just peso bills, and would want to convert it to $$..not gonna happen. Changers are closed after 8PM in most humongous airports.

Snap! $150 for the trip should be enough id she doesn't have long layovers and stops. As she will be fed in the plane.

PhilippinesMNL to LAX one-way ticket for my parents
Just a piece of advice, If I were you.. I will call few travel agencies and see if there are still first time immigrant discount slots in Philippine Airlines.
My agency is one of the PAL's agency so I got a MNL-LAX direct flight with first time immigrant for only $578.90. Because usually, agency has direct access on up to date airfare fees. Try to contact alistotravellali@yahoo.com and inquire if Lali (the travel agent of AListo travel) can find you a cheaper rate this time.

PhilippinesPls help on NBI Address...urgent

Shouldn't be a problem, I think they're only worried about the results of the NBI clearance (like criminal history, jail time, arrests, etc), not so much about the address....and your part sounds like a minor error. I could be wrong but I think the NBI is just a background investigation, done by the National Bureau of Investigation......

I wouldn't say that it should'nt be a problem since.. whatever you send to USCIS, or NVC is inputted to their system.
We are dealing with United States of America and its always safe to give the utmost, legible and correct information.
Any discrepancy from the information provided in those forms can result to delay. Keep in mind, adjudicators or people who review your papers are trained to protect/spot as much as possible the people who is trying to infiltrate US, considering the recent terrorism in our country.

What is going back to NBI and re-apply for another one that'll only take 1 day of your time rather than weeks and months of delay in NVC.

PhilippinesPOE experiences
LAX for me was a great POE. But I arrived with only few planes arrived altogether, and also its night time. The airport wasn't that busy.
Plus the boarder officer who got my biometrics was a filipino so it was a sweet encounter. 10 mins I'm off.

Philippinesim so depress

hi to all,
well i think we are stuck in this situation that make me feel depressed...we have I-130 approved.. my husband send the I-864 already together with the joint sponsor..last April 16, we received a letter from the NVC saying that my joint sponsor didn't include the IRS for 2009 my husband call my joint sponsor and he said that he didn't file for 2009. Now my husband is thinking to give up the joint sponsor and let him sponsor me unfortunately he didnt meet the income requirements...he gonna ask for a letter from his job and gonna send to the nvc.. IS there a posibility of denial on our petition eventhough he have a job?
we dont have anyone to help to sponsor me what should we do now??
we are already 2 years married.. i love him so much
any advice??

thasnk you very much

I'm so sorry to hear your mishaps. (F) Everything happens for a reason that's why this is happening to you and your husband. But all I can say is be strong and never give up on your love. This too shall pass. Pray!.

Philippinesim 21 so my question is

OK....Lets all try to follow the clues...

1..the op is hbk ( I recognize his rambling (which he claims is txt speak) butchering of english grammar) He is 1 of a kind, very ...unique.
2.."before I leave the states" (he has been posting about his planned trip to fili for marriage off/on)
3.. english only (well...that's what he calls it)

and...

it's hbk! (a vj that claimed he was previously being harrassed by other vj's bcoz his pinay is much younger and hotter than any other (had nothing to do with narcissism))

The lad wants to know if he, as a USC, is required to have a parental consent/advisement letter..? and...if so...does it need to be witnessed and notarized....?

and although I know the answer...I wont share it!

but...2 clues for you hbk....myb yes myb no....the provinces are full of surprises
read the other responses (1 in particular) and ..better safe than sorry.?

Wow! you're eyes are peeled on 2 faced-people. Kewl!

Philippinesim 21 so my question is

any body can help who can speak english lol

uh? I think she talked in english, you just don't get it.
No need to be harsh.

To the OP, you don't need to notarized it or whatsoever. In my case, I got married and my age was below 21, When we apply for the Marriage License, they asked my Dad to be present, and they photocopied his ID that serves as his consent for me getting married. no sweat.

PhilippinesWho flew with PAL???

I didnt really like PAL, some of the flight attendant are SUPLADA, they also have favoritism, when I rode with them there was a vacant row, I asked one of the attendants if i can switch there and she said NO, an hour later I saw someone else sitting there so I asked the same attendant why is that person able to sit there when in fact I asked and you said NO, she replied "Sorry sir but that person is from my own hometown", ever since I have not flown with PAL ever again......I prefer to ride EVA, the Taiwanese seem to be more friendly to children.

I have flown via PAL from Manila to Los Angeles. And I couldn't find anything to complain about. The flight attendants were so nice and they feed you very well.
Great food. First class treatment and they all wear a friendly smile.

Philippinesmy last question before im all set

how hard can it be there's a guide with all instructions so i should be fine. only a 5 year old cant follow that easy guide.

You just slapped your face from your own statement.

---

If not for Visajourney, my visa process would be just like in a tunnel and might take years and years to reach until it gets complete.
The folks here go out of their ways to walk you through in your process, but you have to do your work as well. Its not all the time you have to rely on us.
Because we won't be able to share information to you if we DIN'T READ AND UNDERSTAND the guides. Then how do you see yourself helping others if you will be willing to give back the favor?

You have to be nice to people who are willing to help you so you and your future wife would be together soon, instead of trying to be an smart a$$.
All I can say is goodluck on bringing your future wife here in the US.

Cutie_PatootieFemalePhilippines2010-04-23 16:44:00
Philippinesmy last question before im all set

that makes no sense age 18-21 must have parents consent then 21-25 must have advisory. so what is it both of it land on the age 21. i just i will teach u cuz i get my info from official sites check this out ages 18-21 need consent.

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwha009.html

i guess i prove you wrong cuz it says ages 22-24 must have advisory so ha.

PLEEEEEASE...I'm begging you, TRY to understand what the folks are saying, whom their fiance/e's, Wives, is actually here in the US.

Your future wife just need her parents to come with y'all in the city hall once you apply for marriage license. That should be good as parents consent.
and YOU, (if you wanna marry her in the PI) needs to go to the US embassy Manila and get your legal capacity. ( 9-11 Am only M-Thurs)
The parents consistent.. opps! I mean parents consent, does NOT apply to you.

Philippinesstressing out and waiting for visas to be delivered
Suppose to be, when you live just around by Metro Manila, you should receive it in a matter of 2 days or 3.
I would say try calling embassy to see if they have ordered the production already because you will only have access on AIR21's system once the embassy tosses your visa to them.
Have some more patience.

Philippinesinterview tomorrow
30 minutes before you appointment time/interview should be fine.
I was there an hour before my interview for 8 AM, got my number and yet my number flashed an hour later for my finger scanning.
Then another hour for my pre-screening, and another 45 minutes for the actual interview with a consul.

Tips!
-Be very attentive on the numbers being flashed on the board as the questions being raised to you by the screener and the consul.
-Don't get intimidated by the pre-screener.
-Know by heart important details in your relationship.
-Always tell the truth.
-PRAY!

PhilippinesChanging name question

Olive's middle name is misspelled on her birth certificate which is the name she uses. On the BC it is Olib and she wants to change it to be Olive. At this point we both know she needs to wait until she get to the U.S. This is very upsetting to her because when we get married she wants it to be spelled correctly.

Can anyone tell me what the process would be to get the spelling corrected once she gets here. Also all the documentation we have done up to know has the name spelled as on BC with Olive listed in places where other names used is an option. So far no problem with this.

Thanks for your help guys....

I am not sure if this would help. But this is what I found in connection on your concern.

PhilippinesUSD-PHP Exchange Rate blues
what happens is.. when you send money through WU, XOOM, or any money agent.. The receiver will never received the exact amount that s/he is expecting.
say you send $200 and s/he received it in Peso, the actual total amount will always be lesser eventhough its based from the US-Php exchange rate.

The reason is, they have the processing fee for your transaction and they normally take it out from the amount. That's how they make money, out of your money.

My heart goes out for you and Merlaine.

But I would suggest that she still goes to manila to have her medical so St lukes itself will have her treated for the records purposes.
I just fear that if she doesn't do her medical (yet) and have treated somewhere, the treatment won't count since its outside St. Lukes system.
When her fever goes out and at least feel better, send her to St Lukes and let St Lukes handle her treatment. If her medical comes out positive then you gotta do what you gotta do, if St Lukes test comes out negative at least the interview still on its schedule time.
Because if you email the embassy and they postpone the interview but she comes out negative at St. Lukes, then its another long wait.

Good luck!

PhilippinesFilipino address

Wrong Sweetheart

So you are saying no one is allowed to move? Or change location due to job or work.

I had an apartment in PI and I put different addresses on forms, it was no issues..........

I am not saying that noone is allowed to move. Then just means you have to put those addresses you had on those forms.
What I am implying is that those addresses you put should appear when you are being asked to provide them, and be sure that they all match with each other.
Say on your G325 then on your I-130.. you get what I mean now? sweetie?

Cutie_PatootieFemalePhilippines2010-05-10 09:03:00
PhilippinesFilipino address

It's really doesn't matter.

Once she is issued her visa she will fill out a form at the embassy for the delivery company

It does matter because what you put on those forms will be encoded in the immigration system of USA.
That's why there is what they call "RFE". Any discrepancies between the forms and the documents (e.g NBI clearance yada yada yada) should match those forms too.

Correct.
When I had my interview, the consul asked me if how do I want him to talk, English or tagalog?.. I thought it'll be fun hearing him in tagalog (and I thought, tapang ni consul ah, tingnan natin kung hanggang saan makakaya mo, lol) So I said, tagalog.

I am one of those believers that once you shave one hairy part of your body, the hair on that area will continuously thicken.
But, I shave anything that NEEDS to be shave in my body except my legs. I'm just afraid that my hair on my legs will be so thick.
