This morning my adjudicated date was Sept 27. Now it is Oct 9.
But the average time from filing to NOA2 dropped from 124 days to 101 days.
How can the average time drop and my adjudicated date move farther out?

So I had this dream last night I was checking the USCIS website and there was a touch but I couldn't read the details. I was excited but a little worried I didn't know whether it was an approval or RFE (heaven forbid a flat out denial if that happens). The whole thing was VERY real.
So real to the point I almost checked my status this morning but I figured it's a Sunday, I'll give it until Monday. I had already accepted it was just a dream. But I did check my email and....
APPROVAL!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
I received an email at 9:45 saying my case had been approved and a notice mailed 8/24.
I couldn't believe it. And what's with the dream! I double checked on the USCIS website and sure enough, approval Friday with an update of this morning. I think I caught some good mojo coming out and saying hi last week. Thanks guys!
I'm reeling. It feels great to be through with that part and one step closer to making the dream a reality. Best of luck to the rest of my fellow May filers. Please beat my 117 days!

The worst part of it is that the trips to see her are not cheap..i have gone to Colombia to see her 3 times after the time i met her and have spent a combined $7000, between flights and spending while there..I am NO millionaire!!!! :crying: .....and to top it off with her pregnant and not being able to be with her...kills me!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean. I work very many hours for the money that I have.(Not much!)
In October I will fly to China for thge second time this year.
I spend about a solid month researching the internet for cheap Tickets.
First time, March - $848.00 to Hong Kong @ www.Hotwire.com
2nd , October - $994.00 to Guangzhou @ www.Flychina.com
You can find good prices. But you may have 2 or three stops before you get there.
If I were a millionaire, I will go to China once a month. First Class! But this is not the case.

Good Luck to all!

PhilippinesWife as Joint Owner of Credit card account
Good day Friends!

I just want to know if being a joint owner of credit card account of the spouse will also help me (Pinay) to build my credit score?

My husband has a beautiful rating and he recently just decided to put me as a joint owner of the account.

I have 2 questions:

1. Will it help me build up my credit score? ( I don't have any credit card as I was using his whenever I have to, I only have debit cards so I have no idea what my credit score status is)

2. Since I have now my separate card, does that mean I have to use my card alone to build my own credit score?

Or any in depth details is really appreciated.

Thank you!

PhilippinesBringing Birth Control Pills
The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) prohibits persons from importing into the United States any prescription drug that has not been approved for sale by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or which is adulterated or misbranded within the meaning of the Act. Moreover, in those instances where a United States manufacturer makes an FDA-approved prescription drug and sends it abroad, the Act also prohibits any person other than the original manufacturer from importing the drug back into the United States. Thus, in virtually all instances, individual citizens are prohibited from importing prescription drugs into the United States.

Philippinesam I cheap?
I believe you are a great man, with soft heart. Upon evaluating your post, I am certain that this lady is not the right one for you.
There are a lot of pinays out there who has great intentions why they would marry an american guy. This lady clearly is not marrying you out of love but she wants to marry your money and have someone who will give her all her luxury.

When you are not around, she is probably bragging to her friends and family that she has sugar daddy that provides her with what she desires and can be easily manipulated.
Because of her ,we filipinas has bad reputation resonating the globe in terms of wedding a foreign man.

Based from her personality, she is a type of person who will truly bring her real colors to life when she gets to the U.S.A and feels so highly of herself. Once you marry this person, she will take everything you have which you as a "MAN WHO IS JUST PAYING HIS BILLS" worked hard will only go to this gold digger, One who will want to provide everything to her family back home, send everyone to school with your money! Then If you disagree, she will threaten you for divorce because she is unhappy ( for not having her weekly shopping and all that).

Save yourself for more heartaches. She will only get worse because you allowed her to.

PhilippinesChild US Citizen in the Philippines with dual citizenship and alien parents

The potential major obstacle is the mother being turned around at the POE. Just because the mother has a valid tourist visa and the child is a USC does not give the mom a free pass. If the "tourist" is seen as someone who intends to immigrate then they will not be allowed past customs.

Ok, lets weigh in the situation..

First, the child is minor. If ever the mother tries to enter the US with her child who is a USC, surely she will be questioned at the POE what is her grounds for entering the country? And I am certain that she will say that my child is a USC so she has the right to see her country of citizenship, the mother surely will not leave the child in this country when she gets back to the Philippines(who is a sick mother would do that?) since she is just a tourist. Not unless, she has family members that the mother is willing to leave her child with (but now we are talking about custody).
The OP will just have to explain to the border officer that this visit is purely a visit alone and she has the intention to come back to the country.

The OP did not say if she wants to immigrate, so....

Second, If the parents has intention to immigrate to the US, then this is now the time for her to re-apply for a VISA as an Immigrant and she has to meet all the qualifications (or might be a few considerations based from this situation) that can be found in the US embassy Manila website. In that way, she will be an immigrant to the country and has the right to stay with her USC daughter.

Thirdly, the OP has an existing Tourist visa and wants to know if she can accompany her child to the US--- YES! But, you will have to secure reasons to come back to the the Philippines without showing of intention of overstaying right off at the POE. (round trip tickets for both maybe)

I would suggest to speak to an immigration lawyer just because this matter doesn't come
everyday through the walls of this forum and we can't give you solid information based from pure assumptions and observation.

PhilippinesChild US Citizen in the Philippines with dual citizenship and alien parents
This is a very interesting topic. It would be thrilling to hear more inputs.
My best bet is for you to submit an inquiry to the USEM Manila and see where you stand. I'm sure they can tell you off hand what is the best thing to do.

But in my observation, if your daughter is a USC, and you just happen to give birth to her in the US, She has definitely the right to be in this country, and You who once were able to procure a US Tourist visa goes to show that can support and take care of yourself even if you are in the US. Needless to say, you shouldn't have any problem renewing your US Tourist visa by the time you should. When your daughter reaches the age of 18, she has the final say to which citizenship she would to keep.

Visa wise, I don't think you will have any major obstacle in your situation.

PhilippinesDid He ever give money?

Mav's U-tubes had nothing to do with the OP' Oringinal Post. He loves to cause problems. He Hijacked the OP Original Request for advice. I don't care what this guy thinks or none-the-less what members think. If it was wrong: A Moderator would have deleted it. Members get frustrated at the process and Attack other Members. I myself have said more than needed a few times and wish I never did. Tallcoolone seems to enjoy inflicting harm. I never seen ONE Post from him that helped a Member. I'm not saying anything bad about him and I ignore his comments but Not when he Attacks Mav.

So the Original topic was: Money. A good relationship will understand eachothers finances as to what they can and cannot afford. So, if it neccessary for the Finace' to pay all exspenses that is OK. Nothing wrong with it. A Couple has to be aware of what eachother can afford. We all know this process is not cheap and requires a committment on eachothers part to make it happen and be a success.

If you don't like Mav's and My U-tubes you are free not to watch. Have a great day and good luck in the process. Tim/Mav

Once again, things that are not offending to you, might be offending to others. And your videos are something that falls in that category.
Your videos called the attention of the members because it looks harsh not only to Filipinas but also greatly to your fiancee's modesty. You don't want others to take your fiancee wrongly for being cheap or something worse because of these videos. We know that you love each other, and she has a nice looking body that you are so lucky for. So don't share it to anybody's eyes and fantasies.

It's a mystery to me how a couple can be engaged to be married and are planning to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife, yet they have not discussed their financial situation.

I think it's a red flag.

Some women tends to build up the respect from their fiances and just doesn't ask a cent or two. I second the motion Tahoma, they have to have some sort of closure how they want to set up the financial part. What I would like to know is that, they want to marry each other ALREADY and still hasn't build that strong foundation to get to know each other as simple as when to give or when to ask.

Philippinesto all first time driver (shere your experience)t

Definitely start with a used car.. Thank God I was a Manila driver before I came here. The only bad part was I was so used to honking in Manila and I had to learn to tone it down when I got here. Haha :)

Lmao! I feel you.
I was a Manila driver too and I have just learned how to be patient on the road over here. Way back home, my horn was so jaded like a bus drawing attention for passengers. lol .

I used my Phil license to drive around the city where we were living, then I read the Driver's handbook for the state of Louisiana, but I got my driver's permit from another state for "work" related purposes then came back to Louisiana to get my actual driver's license.

The hardest part of learning to drive here in the States for me is on the Interstate. I was not used of driving with a 5 lane highway in just 1 direction, oh how I hate merging lanes, (seems some people doesn't know who does and doesn't have the right of way sometimes) with people cutting in front of you and breaking before you know it and basically learning how to figure out what was posted on those boards along the road (Exits, highway numbers)
.

As for the husband teaching the wife thingy, we have had few episodes of howling and pointing fingers with each other inside the car while he was teaching me, but I'm thankful that he is patient enough to teach me to drive the US way, and he let loss of me so early. Thankfully, I never hit a thing, nor a wreck , tickets, or whatsoever. :)

Wrong

Many doctors in Philippines are quacks and the ones doing the Medical Interview are about brain dead. Many backward doctors in Philippines, I doubt many of them would be able to become a MD in USA.

oh! I remember, someone in this forum is a god and knows everything. "many doctors in the Philippines are quacks" that's like saying most of the Americans are a-hole. hmm reminds me of someone familiar.

Thanks to the quack doctors that learned through Philippine education system, for you can concur that your wife is a quack nurse.

Philippineslost xray cd from St. Lukes

My friend message me this morning and told me that she had been robbed last night and those guys took away her folder with her St. Lukes chest X-ray on it. She is really worried that she might not get a replacement for it? Is it possible to attain a new copy of it? and the mere fact that her flight is going to be on the 10 of Feb :( Is there some one out here who got through this thing? What did you do? Thank you so much and I hope to hear from all of you guys.

In my case, when I had my immunizations re-done for THEIR (US Health Unit) File, I had to show to them my immunization records before I receive all the vaccines as my age requires here. Back then, they gave me a skin test which turned out positive. Since I have my XRAY CD WITH ME, I didn't have to do it over here. I saved me $150 bucks.

So if you think you your friend will be in the same situation, I would suggest have her get another copy if it wouldn't be that much.

PhilippinesXOOM Phils/Phils from USA bank
If you send money to yourself WHILE in the Philippines, the transaction will not be possible to be successful. There is something about XOOM's system that doesn't accept any incoming transaction outside the US.

My husband tried to do this while he was in the Philippines but the transactions were always cancelled after trying 3 times. Luckily, he has remote desktop through VNC server/viewer that he was able to control, access and use his own desktop computer in the US that he used to send me money in my name in the Philippines, even though were are together.

PhilippinesFilipina wife issues....advice please...

ive already told her i will not send any money for any reason, i dont pay for my parents medical care and i wont for hers. they are cut off for life in my book.

First of all, I would like to commend you for following the great advices of our fellows here and truly did the right thing.

Everyone has their own "BREAKING POINT" Even Mother Teresa must have had one. And you have reached yours. This is one big lesson to each and everyone of us that taking advantage of something/ Someone will not do any good to us. Being married with someone from the United States is not something to be boastful of, change anything from before and even now. It's about you and your wife building a FAMILY TOGETHER not building and "supporting" others while both of you are struggling. A lift must only be given in times of difficulty not handing everything to them in a silver platter.

Its like default thing that once a filipina is married to a Kano, the family of the filipina thinks they just won a lottery. Which is a sad connotation but true. Even a lottery winnings must be spent wisely.

If the "help" was fully discussed and handled properly, the family relationship between you and your wife's would not be tragic as it is now. The good thing is, you and your wife has lighten the load so both of you can focus in more important things like preparing yourselves for the baby. (Congratulations!!!)

Stick to your actions of not giving them anything. If you slack on that, they will think you gullible. Both sides has learned a lesson. Let's leave it like that.

PhilippinesBringing 2 China Made Tablets to U.S. is this ok?

It really depends on what you mean by knock-offs....

If they are just lesser quality (and price) that look similar but are not fakes of actual name brands then you're ok.

If they are fake iPads or SamsungTabs (or something like that) then technically they are illegal in the US and if CBP detects them they will confiscate them...

And just additional things, If in any situation you are tempted to bring fake LV's and all those branded handbags, or any brand that is worth a fortune like Chanel, Prada etc in large quantities... DON'T even think about bringing them into the US because surely, they will track you resources on those stuffs.

And some Pirated DVD's. I know of someone ( I even posted here in VJ long ago) that at the POE, she was sent back home because of these pirated DVD's coming from Pinas she had like so many of them.

Just a warning.

PhilippinesHotels near NAIA: Mabuhay Manor?

I am going to the Philippines to get my fiancée soon, and I need a place to stay overnight while I wait for my flight out of Manila the next morning. Does anyone know the Baclaran area in Manila? I read recommendations from several people for the Mabuhay Manor, which is in that area on the corner of Ortigas St. and F.B. Harrison in Pasay. I am an American traveling alone, and I am just staying overnight until my flight in the morning, but I didn't want to stay in an area that is too risky. However, I also don't want to pay $100 extra to stay in a large hotel like the Manila Marriott if the neighborhood is no different. I read a lot of good reviews about Mabuhay Manor, but every reviewer, even the Filipinos, mentioned that it was in a bad area. I'm just wondering if that is all of Manila or just that neighborhood. Any advice is appreciated!

Mabuhay Manor Hotel is a 5 star customer satisfaction rate for me.. This is where we held our wedding and the people there were very wonderful, this is where we stayed on our first night together.
Rate is very reasonable for me.

Customer service is excellent. They went out of their way to cater our needs. On our wedding package that we bought prior on my hubby's arrival, we get to have 1 night free of stay in their honeymoon suite, which is what we used on our first night together.

Location: Is very convenient as the malls and SLEX and USEm are just few minutes away.

Person to contact: Look for Ms. Jenny (if she's still there, and you can mention my last name (Mrs. Miller) so she'd be delighted to help y'all if you decided to come.)

I hope this helps!
