IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat happens after 10 years?

My wife and I have been married for 13 years, and we have just started the DCF process for getting a IR-1 Visa for her (I'm the USC)

We have just had our I-130 approved, so it seems to be going well so far. From what I've read, the IR-1 Visa will be a 10 Year visa.

My question is, what happens AFTER the 10 years are up? Will she have to become a USC, or would we have to apply for another 10 year extension?

Many thanks in advance for your help and advise!

Since citizenship can be applied for three years after LPR status is granted, many choose that route, making LPR status and Green Card moot.

After she applied for the citizenship and got approved, and already a USC? does she still need to renew her green card? (pls correct me if I'm wrong).

Since I have a very long address longer that great wall of China, I used Phil if the space didn't permit me to write Philippines.

There might be a little that I hope I'll be wrong. As what I read from other posts, Consuls here in the Philippines are train to be as sensitive as they can be. They like looking at pictures. But I hope there wouldn't be a problem. Just explain to the consul that you had a trouble with the film. And you'll be fine.

theres nothing wrong just give it some days till they update them system and ya will be able to see the status and theres another good way just sign up for an account on USCIS and add your case # to where it says portfolio ya will be able to keep an eye on the updates which ppl call it here touches good luck

You can't add a portfolio if your case is not seen online. I tried that option, but it didn't work when our case is not yet seen online.

We didn't saw our case online for a month until our transfers.
Most of Nov filers frm VSC didn't catch up with the Case status online until our cases are transfered to CSC.
Just be patient. It'll show up soon.

calling USCIS is a pain in the A$$. You have to keep calling them until you ran out of patience.

You have to call them at least 8:20 AM EST. at 1-800-375-528

Just be patient. I can see that you are in VSC and not transfered to CSC.
Just hang on, your approval is coming soon.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescall details as bonafide evidence
As what others said, Its really not such a BIG convincing evidence.
I must emails, chat logs, print screens and snail mails so as Cards, Joint bank account,
and affidavit from 3rd parties that knows you indeed have a bonifide marriage.
These are top heaviest evidence that can be shown by the time you'll have your interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone getting married in Januay 2009?
congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
My only tips I can tell you is that, when your soon to be spouse sends you his G325a, tell him too to fill out the DS-230 form, just signed it but don't date it yet, also with the choice of agent. (ds-3032) just signed but don't date. And have multiple copies of the docs that he will be sending to you.
In this case, he only has to send once all the forms you will be needing in the future. Though you can do the choice of agent online, still you have back-ups.
Also, if he has some evidences for your bonafide marriage, send it with the forms too, (e.g. lease of a house, bank certificate of joint account, if any, and others.) this will save you a lot of time, esp when you reach NVC.
And when filling out forms, be careful.. review review and review.
make a exact replica of what you will be sending to USCIS, It will give you a stable comfortability that you didn't missed anything to avoid RFE.

Goodluck!!!

Cathy,, we will just submit these papers on Monday (USA time). So we are just going to use USPS and use the address where the WA State belongs, right?

Petitioners who reside in AK, AZ, CA, CO, Guam, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MS, MT, NE, NV, ND, OH, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, or WY must file their stand-alone Form I-130s with the Lockbox using the following address:
USCIS
P.O. Box 804625
Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Oh on Monday? that's the day we'll send our papers too.. let's keep our fingers crossed kath that we'll have smooth Visajourney. But yeah.. just follow the P.O box of which you need to send the papers.
Goodluck to us!.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC questions
I just have few questions that I just need clarifications from you guys, and hopefully you'll give me feedbacks.

1.) My husband got the AOS fee bill at hand, as what I read here, the DS3032 and AOS is being generated at the same time, so does this mean we can send the DS3032?

2.)Can we pay the AOS fee bill online even before the DS3032 is accepted and entered into the system?

3.)I sent my husband in the US the completed DS3032 downloaded from the USCIS site with my signature (blue ink), my question is, can he sent it to the NVC since its already signed, or its necessary that I should be the one sending it to the NVC from my country?

4.)Does emailing DS3032 requires barcode as well or just when you will snail mail it?

5.)When you email the DS3032, in your subject box.. did you format it like this?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhich is Which?
Greetings!

I've been reading a lot about co-sponsorship but I'm just a little confused about which form for my husband and my mom in law who'll co-sponsor my hubby.

My husband is full time student and will be graduating this July. So we need a co-sponsor.
My question is,

Which form is right for my hubby? will it be the I864?
and which form is for my mom in law? will it be the I864A?

Thank you for your replies!

To add up an inquiry..

If the petitioner has totally no income and will just be relying to the co-sponsor, so the petitioner will only be needing to fill out the I-864? and other components of the AOS (E.g I-864A, W2's, IRS, Employment Cert. Pay stubs. etc. )will be submitted by the Co-sponsor?

What other docs does the petitioner has to fill out except I-864?

Even if the petitioner makes ZERO dollars they still need to show tax returns, even if those returns show they made ZERO dollars, OR the petitioner can write a letter explaining (and add supporting documents as to why) they weren't required to file taxes for the past few years, in this case the petitioners income was so low they were not required by IRS law to file. There is a page in the instructions for the tax form 1040 which shows the filing requirements in a chart, be sure to add this to the letter wink.gif

I see. this gives me a lil clearer view on what we should do. Thank you.
Another question, say my hubby received an inheritance from his dad which is above the poverty guidelines,
what does my husband needs to do? does he need to state that in his letter? or what?....

Ok, this might be a little confusing but this question has been bothering for the past days to which we are really suitable with. My husband is a full time student and about to graduate this June. He lives with his mom.
Since he doesn't have income yet we will be using a sponsor which is my mom in law.

The question is, Is there really a difference between a "CO-SPONSOR" and a "JOINT SPONSOR?"

Or this are just two words that has same meaning?

Someone please....
