K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOne-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

Actually, I am thinking of the same thing. Not because I doubt my love and relationship with my fiancee. It is the least thing I could ever imagine. Since my interview is up this Feb, I am thinking I might get return tickets as they are cheaper, should we (me and my fiancee) go back and visit folks in the P. I. One way is like 800 dollars and when two-way it's round 1.200, 1,300 USD. So, which way to go?

Totally on the same boat!!!
Anyway, we have decided to just purchase the one-way ticket since its correct that we do not know how long AOS will take. We'll
Just purchase another round trip for our Christmas vacay here in Manila. Checked the fairs and two-way costs around $1500-$1700 economy and one-way is from $980-$1200 :)

Id say, one-way is the best route :) we got some pretty good advice here :)

Thanks VJ members!!! Huge help!!! Appreciated big time :) Wooot wooot!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOne-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

It depends on which is cheaper. There are lots of variables. Websites such as http://www.cheapoair.com/ you can check fares by inputing one way or round trip. You will be surprised that sometimes the round trip ticket can be cheaper than the one way. So your best bet is to find the date your fiancee plan to arrive then check out the one way and the round trip fares and pick the cheapest one. I hope this helps.

Thanks!!! Big help :)

We did 1 way just a long time till aos is finished. Looks like you got it handled, Good Luck.

Guess, thats the best route :) thanks for sharing :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOne-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

Hmm...oh, what i mean is if you will end up not using the US - to Phil flight then its a waste of money...K1's can't go back home unless they get their AP or green card and we don't know for sure when will someone gets the approval for that...so, if you pay 800 for a one way and 1400 for a round trip..then end up not using the whole trip..you will end up paying 600 and not using..not sure if its ok to book a ticket with no expiration in it .. I thought of that from before but just gave up on searching for answers as excitement to be with my fiance is more important than anything else :D - Good luck and best wishes!!!

Gothcha :) purchasing one-way i ticket to my love love today :) thanks!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOne-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

In all reality, if it is cheaper to buy the round trip and you don't end up using the trip back, what have you lost? Nothing! I say do what you think is best for your pocket book!! :)

Thanks for the advice! God bless =)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOne-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

Personally, I am going to just buy a oneway for my finace when he comes. The main reason is because I don't know how long it will take for the AOS to be completed. We also want to go back and visit as soon as possible, but not knowing what that date will be and if the airline schedules that far in advance has made me settle on the oneway.

Good Luck!

One-way it is =) Thanks for your advice. Appreciated big time =) God bless and Good luck!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOne-way ticket or round-trip ticket?

You've gone this far. Unless you are uncertain, I'd go for one-way. I certainly don't see myself going all the way through with "serious" concerns. I'm doing this because I couldn't imagine myself spending the rest of my life without my fiance. It's not exactly "burning the ships" but I'd go into it 100% and don't look back!
http://successsecret...burn-ships.html

That's not even in question. We are just asking what type of ticket to purchase. Thanks for the reply tho.

You only need to purchase a one-way but sometimes special return fares are cheaper than the one-way price. Just a matter of checking what the best deal is on your travel date.

EXACTLY. Okay! Thanks thanks! God bless =)

Hahaha. Actually, it's more expensive to purchase a one-way ticket. LOL! We actually have plans of coming back here for Christmas Vacation. We seriously don't have an idea what to get for real. Thanks for the quick response =) God bless!

Received US VISA 2 days ago =) Now, my fiance and I are wondering what ticket to purchase ... LOL. Should we just get the one-way or the round-trip? If round-trip, how many months, lets say flight is March, what month should the return ticket be? Need advice. Thanks for your time =) God bless!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInappropriate Interview

Wait a minute...this is an interview for people who are ENGAGED, not married. These questions may be appropriate for a MARRIED couple to ensure the marriage was consummated, but not for an engaged couple.

Sorry I don't have any advice as to your recourse, but I find these questions to be inappropriate (unless you are pregnant = obviously having sex). I hope someone can direct you to the proper channels to report this.

I agree on this!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGreen Card Approved =)
Date of AOS Interview: September 12, 2012
Time: 1:00pm
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Got to the USCIS office in downtown LA 15 minutes before my schedule, went to the 1st Window to drop off the Interview appointment letter. The woman asked if I am with anyone and if someone is representing me, i just told her that I am with my husband. She said, ok cool and to just wait for my name to be called. Waited approximately 40 minutes ... after 4 people, my name was called and we were asked to go to Door 1. The consul was very nice and accommodating. We were really comfortable and the interview felt like a normal conversation. She asked for the following documents: our marriage certificate, my husband's birth certificate, my children's birth certificate, my husband's naturalization certificate, supporting docs of joint assets (bank statement, insurance policy), my passport, my California State ID, social security card, i gave my military spouse Id as well. Then she asked the following questions, how we met, when i got to America, where we live, if my husband has taken me to places, where my children lives, if we are driving a car and who has the car, she asked what my husband's job is ... that's it. It felt like we were just talking to a stranger who was interested to know our love story ... little that we knew, we were talking to a Consul Director!!! Waaaaah! =) The interview took 10 minutes. She stood up, took my passport and my husbands IDs (Driver's License and Military ID) came back after 2 minutes and handed the paper stating that my GREEN CARD is approved!!! WOOOOT WOOOOT!!! ItS an amazing feeling because our hard work paid off =) Now, my husband can truly keep me for life! =)

Good luck to the other couples and God bless =)

Sincerely,
Cheryl

Pretty much sharing based from experience. Have my VISA already so I guess that's what matters :) My co-sponsor affidavit was given back even tho my fiance's civilian work was below the requirement.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion that need a quick answer!!!

hello Vj members,,,

i have a question..the persons who is willing to be our co-sponsor was already sposored somebody before and that person is already there in the US less than a year..is it ok if they are going to be my co-sponsor eventhough they already sponsored somebody before??thanks in advance..

Hello. I had my interview last Jan 20 and when asked to give the affidavit of support, I gave my fiance's military, civilian and his sister as a co sponsor, MANILA US EMBASSY doesn't accept CO-SPONSORS. The co-sponsor affidavit was returned to me and filipino consul said that she doesnt need it. She only got 1 affidavit which was his civilian earnings which was below the required. I seriously thought that I wasnt gna get approved but GOD is good and was approved. I got my VISA yesterday :)

You can try and submit the affidavit of support of the co-sponsor. Just follow the guidelines of getting a co-sponsor :)

Good luck and God bless :)

hello i hope you guys can give me advice on what to do.,my fiancee affidavit of support I-134 question 11 don't have answer coz he's also confused what to put on it..intend or do not intend is it ok if its unanswered?and he made it last august 2011 with notarizedd and i will be planning my interview before end of febuary..,pls help us..

I checked "intend" and here's what I put...

"I will take care of all the expenses including travel, lodging, boarding, food,Medicare, and all other expenses during their stay with me in the USA."

My fiancé was approved for the K1 visa with no problem at al. I believe that you need to state something on question 11 to make sure the counsel understands how you will help. Hope this helps you and your journal. Good luck and many blessings

That was very insirpirational I feel a lot better reading your story! Every day just feels like forever!! He rang and nothing has been mentioned anymore only about the "Initial" stage - I can't seem to find where it says it's been touched on the website. Any ideas?

Thanks again! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWorried...

Hi All, I am brand new to this forum - however would like to say that the site has helped my fiance and I a lot! First of all I am in the UK and my fiance is an American - we met last year at a Yankee Game and the rest is well history!! So we sorted out the paperwork and we got the first notice back in December (the end) and now I keep checking the status and all it ever states is Initial Review - is this normal. We are so desperate to get things moving as he is in the Military and will be based at a new station in May/June time - what do you think the actual timeline is going to be - am I getting my hopes up to be thinking it will be soon? Thank you :)

Congratulations!!! My fiance is also in the military. He just got back from deployment last April and a reservist when he filed for my petition so we had to go thru the regular process. He filed it last July 2011 and I just received my US VISA today. 6 months!!! :) you can ask your fiance if he can ask assistance from the military. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEngagement Ring at Interview

I agree, that is the reason I posted the question.

I will tell her that if they ask, she should just tell the truth. The ring was damaged and after the repair, we did not have the proper opportunity. I don't think this is an issue. I will post the results here after the interview, which is many months away.

Thanks

I was never asked. Your fiancee will be fine :) If they by any chance ask, then she can just tell them what happened. As long as all the docs and requirements are complete, there will be no problem :) Good luck and keep the faith. All will be given in God's time :)
