Can someone help us answer question 37 on DS156? My fiancee has several half-brothers and half-sisters in the US. A couple only about 45 minutes from me. She says she didn't grow up with them, doesn't know them, doesn't know their status, and would rather leave it blank. I think not. Does anyone know for sure how to fill this out? And what does she do to list them all? It doesn't fit in the box.

Thanks so much. Our day is getting so close now!

:crying: I sent off my affidavit of support and other documents Fedex Saturday (on the truck to be delivered already, awesome!). I don't know how, but even after checking it, I think I blew it. On question 10. That I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none.

I stated: None

Ummmm, do I need to do it again, get it notarized, and rushed to the Philippines before June 5?

I have the same question... In our case, we used the sample form here in VJ and on that particular question, instead of 'NONE" we wrote: MAE XXXXX XXXXX (now filing for K1 Visa)... Can somebody enlighten us please?

Thanks!

CONGRATS TO ALL WHO GOT APPROVED! Time flies by so quickly and before we know it, it's JUNE batch turns! Yeaaaaa I mean Yikesss (because I'm feeling the churn in my stomach)

Mae

I went back and checked the copies I made. I put in the right thing as per the guide. Worried for nothing. Thanks for the reply Country Boy.

pardon my ignorance everyone but what is the difference between tax transcripts and income tax return filed copy? or are they the same?

rea

they are different. The tax transcript is a record of your return that you can order by phone from the irs at 1 800 829 1040. I heard the embassy prefers the transcript to the actual return. It's a free service and I got my 2005 and 2006 transcripts in less than a week.

I hope no one minds if I post what I'm mailing Mharis for our interview. If you have any suggestions, I would be grateful. I'm going to try to send it by the latest this Friday through DHL to Manila.

Letter from Employer with dates of employment, classification (permanent), and annual salary

Notarized Affidavit of Support (no property or bonds :( but decent salary

Six months of paystubs

Tax transcripts and W2's for tax years 2005 and 2006

Copy of return and W2 for tax year 2004 (transcript won't arrive by my deadline)

Statement from bank of when account opened, amount deposited in last year, and present balance

Should I include my retirement statement of expected payment in 13 years?

Phone records (record of daily, sometimes twice daily calls) to Mharis. Cell phone records, mobilecaller, landline account, phone cards, and texting bills.

Photographs of us together, meeting mom, visiting dad, horsing around, etc. About 24 pictures

Engagement ring receipt

Emails (not as many as I would like, but we are on the phone so much)

Cards we sent to each other. Lots of these.

Letters I sent to her. Lots of those.

Copies of chats. (Not a lot, maybe 5)

Maybe 6 or seven print outs of the daily e-cards I send her

Should I include a remittance even if it is only a small amount, like $200.00 sent once?

Receipts for flowers

Ticket stubs for second visit to the Philippines. I can't locate first visit stubs.

Credit card records for second visit in December, 2006

Various receipts for December, 2006 visit.

Freshly dated fiance letter of intent.

And she will add the forms from the packet 4.

Well, am I missing anything? I wish I had more chats, but I'm not a big fan of chat.

Our interview is June 5. I'm starting to freak out.

Thanks,

Rick

Everyone, I have a question for a friend of my fiancees. This friend has her interview on Tuesday at the Embassy, but hasn't gone to the bank to pay and get her D157 stamped and signed. Since Monday is a holiday, what can she do? I think she is going to have to go and be rescheduled. Do you think one of the authorized banks may be open on Saturday or Monday?

Thanks.

Chad, congratulations again, that visa is almost there!!!!!

I assume that her interview sked states 7:30am although the truth is she will be interviwed sometime around 10-11am as has been my experience.

The pre-screener at the entrance will require her to present the pink slip as proof of payment and that means she wont be allowed to enter the embassy without the receipt of visa fee payment.

I suggest that before going into the US Embassy, she can go to the BPI across the street from the embassy entrance and she can pay there as early as 9am when the bank opens. Then she can go to the embassy and present complete DS forms with proof of payment and all will be in order.

Once she is inside the embassy waiting area, she will be assisted by the personnel there on how to properly fill up the forms. Then she has to get a number for the interview, go to the fingerscan, go to a pre-screener, then wait for the consular officer to interview, then again wait for the pink slip to pay at delbros and all will be in order.

By the way, for those who need light snacks while inside the fiancee interview area, you can ask the security guard for permission to go the the tourist visa waiting area where they sell light snacks and you can eat there and go back to the interview area...but make it a short snack since they will be calling your name for the fingerscan and they will flash yur number for the screener.

Good luck!

Maria

Thanks so much. I passed on the information. So you think that if she arrives at 9:20 or so to the embassy with a 7:30 appointment they will let her in?

Okay, our interview is not on the website, but I emailed the embassy and received a reply that our interview is scheduled for June 5th and the package was mailed today. There is no date given for the medical. I guess it pays to be persistent.

Wow congratulation you already have your interview... lol now it makes me worried... I checked our case # but it shows NO NEW interview sched.... We requested for either June or July, i'm worried that i might be included in the June batch but as i check the website for visa sched it still shows my old sched... :crying: :crying: :crying:

Orion, can you please give me the email address that you used to send correspondence to embassy? Thanks's in advance!

Philippinessending my I 130s soon...
Looks everything is well, but i believe you do not need to send an original birth certificate. You will need the original once you complete and submit the DS230 (after NO2).

It's okay to submit the i-130 petition to your husband and your son at the same time. My sister and her daughter (4 years old) got approved at the same time and came here together. If in case your thoughts are correct and your son's petition got approved first i think there's # of months before the visa expires.

Anyways stay positive; more VJs can help you here.

PhilippinesQuestion po about Medical and Interview
My husband is scheduled for interview on Feb 25th at 8:30 AM.

Medical: Does he need to make an appointment? What is the best time po para pumunta don?

Interview: Since 8:30 a.m. ang interview nya, what time sya dapat pumunta sa Embassy para pumila?

Ang problema pagbalik mo dito from Phils.

It is strongly recommended that children travelling alone or with one parent carry a consent letter for each and every trip abroad.

here's a sample letter pa notarize mo.

PhilippinesApproximate Time between NVC approval and interview date
I submitted my husbands ds230 in November, with 3 weeks review his case was completed December 08 and he got Feb 25th interview.

So probably if you will submit your daugthers DS230 next week, give it about 2-3 weeks and her case will be completed by end of this month. So most likely her schedule will be end of March or early April.

If in any case she cant make it, she can ask to reschedule.

Hello i got your message, so might as well answer it here.

I'm actually thinking it's the baby too. Because i remembered you told me you have 2 kids, I just cant remember yong age nila.

So kailangan mo pa hintayin yong CRBA approval and US passport ng baby mo? i believe kailangan din ng DNA test. Grabe no ang daming requirements. But dont worry malapit na yan. Everything will go well.

My prayers to you and your family. By the way, ako na nagrequest sa NSO ng cenomar para sa husband ko thru their website.

Thanks a lot.

PhilippinesLETTER FROM NVC
It means that your husband only petitioned you but not your kids. He should file separate a i-130 for you and each of the kids.

As what Ryandgracey was asking: "Was there a DS230 filed for your son too? Is the boy just yours or is he your husband's as well? "

It is because if the petitioner is not the biological father, then the wife should come to the US first and then petition the kids. If he is the biological father then yeah he should file separate I-130 for the wife and the kids.

any pinay vj members here in the philippines who has the same or almost close to my PD (JANUARY 04, 2005) F2A category? have you receive already the choice of agent form, or DS-230, or any letters from NVC? pls let me know so I can compare because after we got approved last OCT 01, 2008 and received 1 letter from NVC on NOV 11, 2008 stating that we still have to wait because the visa in not yet available for us (Me and to my 2 kids) until now I haven't receive or heared anthing from NVC. thanks!

USCIS could have APPROVED the petition but VISA number may still not be available for F2-LPR. I dont want to disappoint you but I believe NVC is currently processing 01July04 PD.

When will your husband become a citizen? Or have he applied for citizenship yet? It is faster if he becomes a citizen and upgrade your petition.

My husbands PD is Dec 2005, but i applied for citizenship and upgraded his petition right after my oath and now the journey is almost over ... he is coming soon.
