It seems to me they are asking how you met online. what website, was it free, did it cost. was it a marriage broker website etc. just stating you met online is too vague. did you tell them the name of the website etc? IMBRA is very important with internet meetings.

Chris

I am drafting another Circumstance of meeting letter.
The first time I just stated online didn't mention it was free online service from Yahoo.
This time I will be sure I say that it was from Yahoo chat via Yahoo Messenger.
I didnt go through any broker and Yahoo Chat was free.
I will make sure I state that in my next letter.

Does anyone think if I call USCIS to have them clarify what they want, will that help??

By reading your first RFE, I think they want the circumstance of how you met .. paint them a picture from how you ever first met and then how you met in real person ... When I wrote my letter, I started with, I met my fiance (NAME) in yahoo chat, on blah blah blah... eventually we became a couple and decided to meet in person blah blah blah and fell in love blah blah blah.. you get the picture? Hope that helps and good luck.

No need to disclose any bank assets or property if you already meet the 125% proverty line. I put "Not Reported" on all lines with monetary value except where it ask for your salary.

I got a job today start monday... It qualifies for the income requirements easily.... so thats good news..
I was worried about getting a job soon.. Im not sure if she will come up for the interview before I file my
taxes, but my tax return will qualify... I was hoping the interview will be after I file my taxes, so they could
have a recent one... My past ones qualify... They go pretty heavily on your last tax return more than anything
else, or at least thats what they used to do..

Congrats on your new job! Well, being one month away from the new year, I dont think waiting to file your taxes will show your salary that you will be making in the next year. Remember, your December 2007 earning will only show one month of your new job, while the past 11 months will still show your old job earning on your 2007 Tax Return. You probably already know that, but I just wanted to clarify. I'm still searching for a new job, that's my 2nd gift I want for Christmas, the 1st one is to have my packet from NVC sent to the US Embassy in the Philipines for the interview dates. laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

Best of luck with the interview!

From what I here, it doesn't hurt to have a copy of the I-129F with you just in case.

Check with your specific embassy about the bag, but you can't bring in a book bag or anything - some allow a plastic bag or something along those lines though.

PhilippinesEmployment letter if self-employed?
I wrote myself a self-employment letter since I am self employed. I also have a company letterhead with a company envelope. (looks proffesional)

If you are self employed, I think you do the same in case they ask for an employment letter and you have nothing to give to the pre-screener or just saying that you are self employed. It may raise doubts, so I went ahead and made one. Least I have something to show if I am asked for an employment letter.

I also have included the 1040's from 2005, 2006 and 2007. (ITR's)

Here is what I have.

----------------------------------------------------

EMPLOYMENT LETTER

Date: April 4, 2008

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is XXXXXX. I am residing at: XXXXXXX I make the following statement under penalty of purjury that: I am self-employed for XXXXX, for more than five years since October 1st, 2007. My annual salary is $XXXXX.

Since October 2004, I've been considered self-employed. I work on commission, selling library books. The company pays me a percentage based upon my sales. I also receive a 1099-MISC and not a W-2.
My question is, would I still need a "letter of employment" to send with the I-134 although I'm not technically employed but dependent upon my sales for my earnings?

According to the instructions, if you're self-employed, you need to send a copy of last tax return filed or report of commercial rating concern. Because of this, I chose to ignore the "statement of employment" and I sent her copies of my 2005, 2006, and 2007 tax returns.

Would you say that I had met the requirements or should I also send her a letter from the company stating that I earn commission for my sales?

FYI, I sent:
- 2005, 2006, and 2007 tax returns.
- 2 months of bank statements
- 8 weeks of sales statements
- proof of life insurance
- proof of property ownership
- statement of bank information signed by bank manager (date joined and amount deposited since joining - I joined back in August, 2007 so I wasn't able to provide them with 1 year of deposits)
- printout from my SEP-IRA

I'm pretty sure what I sent was fine, but just wanted to see what others thought.

PhilippinesIts been a while
Hello Fellow VJ members.

If you look at my timeline, it has been years since we were approved for the K-1 Visa. (which was the start of our journey... well it was the I-129F) :)

It has been a long while since I was on this site back in 2007. I used to visit the forums every hour back when we were working on the petition. For those of you who have been waiting or taking the next step to be together with your loved ones. Just be patient and things will fall into place. I have been there.. and done that and its possible if you take your time and read and get help from the other members here in the forums.

When its all said and done and you are finally in the US after a few years... you will remember the times you were doing this.. you will be just like me and move on and come back when you remember what you had to go through. It took my wife and I almost eight months to get the K-1 Visa. (Had the interview in USEM in Manila).. Then POE then another interview for the Temp GC and then Removal of conditions. It was pretty hectic but we made it somehow. Just one step at a time.

Now we have kids... :) Two little ones. It seemed like it was a long time ago. I just wanted to say hello again. I think my wife started in this board back in 2007 and its been great living in the US.

We have are just waiting for the US Citizenship interview soon :) Hope all is well. Good luck all.

Like what I used to say.... the best thing is the Journey.

The 90 days goes fast when you are finally in the US... My fiance (wife now) did it within 15 days.

If you look at my timeline you will see when we got married and applied for AOS.

We just did it in court with some a few family members..

Just try not to take too much time before you know it.. you're already at 60 days.

Its all too much work to miss not doing it within 90 days.

The Immigration Officer opened the envelope while we were in QUE in the line. (I think he did that to save time because the QUE on LAX is very long sometimes.

There is no problem if the envelope is a little opened as long as you dont try to take anything out of it.

I should have taken photos of this, but I didn't get a chance to.

USEM in Manila should get an X-Large Envelope. LOL

You should be fine!

On a side note, a few things in that envelope will be given to you by the IO when you arrive. It was odd, but we received some files that were not even ours. I was quite amazed that something like that happend.

From experience, we used sent in a ton of paperwork for the 1-129F and the yellow envelope did not even fully close when we received it. Don't ask me why. The papers were sticking out and they had to use extra tape to close all the file together. (you can even see what's inside the envelope from the corner)

So. when we arrive in LAX POE. We were in line with my fiance (I flew in with her together from Manila). We were in the US Resident / US Citizen line. The Immigration Office who was leading and telling you which lines to fall in line in opened the sealed yellow envelope before we were in the immigration window. I was in complete shock when I saw this because I didn't even get a chance to tell them to not open it.

Anyhow, when it was finally our turn to talk with immigration. I just handed the "OPENED ENVELOPE" and they didn't even ask any questions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIts been a month and havent received NOA1
My I-129F packet was received by CSC in Laguna Niguel, CA on August 22nd 2007.

It has been nearly a month and I have not yet received the NOA1.

Also, the check I used for payment has not even been deposited by USCIS.

I called the 800 number and asked if there was a delay on the NOA.

I was told that there has been delays and I cannot inquire about a specific petition not unless I have not received a notice after 90 days.

Is anyone in the same situation as me?

I thought that the NOA1 usually is received in 2-3 weeks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAugust Filer with CSC and no touches
Hello Everyone,

I'm excited that several June/July Filers are receiving their NOA2's.

However, I was looking at several postings of August filers for the K1 and some have 2 or 3 touches on their file.

I have checked USCIS and I have not seen a single touch yet. (date hasnt been updated since I received my WAC#)

Yes, I know i'm not supposed to go paranoid over touches, (cause I heard of someone getting no touches and getting approved) but I thought I was supposed to get atleast a single touch by now.

I filed the I-129F in 8/23/2007. The last time USCIS has updated my file was 10/09/2007.

So, my point is waited two months w/o a single touch. innocent.gif

I called USCIS earlier today and did the RFE Trick. I spoke with a helpful agent about my case # and I was told that results will be comming in very soon.

Later on this evening, I checked USCIS online and noticed the first touch on my case.

A few hours later, I received the email stating that I was approved for the K-1 Petition.

I was hoping to get the NOA2 by January.

I filled on 8/23/2007, however by reading that article of a million pettitions in July to beat the filling fee increase and CSC moving very slowly the last two weeks, I think I will be lucky to even get the NOA2 by February.

The last NOA2s that were approved from CSC were June and Mid July fillers. I only heard of 1 or 2 AUG fillers from CSC that received their NOA2s.

Also, I received my NOA1 in early OCT.

Until now, I haven't even gotten a single touch.

Almost waiting for 5 months now. Still waiting patiently and hanging in there with the rest of the AUG fillers from CSC.

I know I'm not alone in this.

Lastly, I keep noticing on the based timeline data date has been moving forward day by day.

It has moved from as early as January 20th to now as early as February 25, 2008*. #######!!

When I say August fillers, I mean someone who sent their 129F in the month of August. That way, there is no confusion with received date, notice date and so on. Thanks to Mox, who gave the idea.

Yea, talk about not having news from CSC lately the past few weeks.

I'm an August filer myself and I'm second guessing on how CSC will accept the received date instead of the NOA1 date.

Also, I still have yet gotten a single touch from USCIS status.

Last time I heard about my case was from the NOA1 and this was back in Oct 2nd, 2007.

All I know is that CSC is really behind from VSC approvals with the NOA2's.

I'm just patiently waiting til the end of this month because ladies and gents, with all do respect, this could be our finest hour smile.gif

Hello All,

Hey!!! Us August filers are just being patient. There was too much stress after long waits in receiving the NOA1 and getting our checks cashed after the escalating July application when we filed in August.

I'm expecting a result of the petition by the end of January.

August filers were active around Sept and Oct and now yes... there isnt much activity also because there is 60% less applicants for the K-1 after July.

I know not everyone who applied for a K1-K3 Visa arent all members of VJ and have timelines,

But, looking at those statistics... there is 75% less applicants for AUG, SEPT, OCT, NOV per month than April, May, June, July months to both CSC and VSC.

I wonder if the petition starting Aug will go more quickly? I guess we'll just wait and see.
