Exactly, we are stopping the process because we are going to be living in Mexico instead because of my fiances's business. Maybe years down the line we will move back to the states, but not in the next few years. My question is where do I stop the process? At the consulate in Juarez where the file is?

Hello Visa Journey Friends,

My Mexican fiancee and I got about half way through the fiancee visa process. Apparently our file has already been sent to the American consulate in Juarez, Mexico.

However, because of my fiancee's developing business, we are now planning to make our primary residence in Mexico for at least the next several years. I will move to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in November and we will be married there shortly after.

My question is who do I advise of the change of plans? Would that be the American Consulate in Juarez? Will this affect us if we decide years down the line to move back to the states? I realize that would be a different visa process as we will already be married.

Would appreciate any advice.

Well not necessary true.. For the signature, $10 per signature is the most the notary public can charge in the State of California for common notaries such as aknowledgements and jurats. But if the notary agent goes to you (called a mobile notary agent) and you meet them for them to sign the document and have it notarized, then they can charge a service fee for them going to you, usually $50.00 on top of the signature fee. I know coz Im a Mobile Notary Public Signing Agent commissioned in the State of California. Too bad I can't notarized my own I-134 haha..

I would just be honest about how you feel and explain why this process taking so long.. make sure you tell it in a way that catches his sympathy for you. I think you still have to wait though since you're just over the minimum wait time of 3months, which is the normal processing wait to receive NOA2, and thats prior to the immigration hike fees. Most people here average a wait time of 130days give or take 10 days, and that right there shows a waiting period of 4 months (120 days) to 5 months (150 days) from filing your petition.

I just got my NOA2 which gave me a waiting time of about 139 days, thats considering I sent my petition before the immigration hike fees. I just finish wriitng to my congress representative here last week via email but I didnt get any response from her, only to see though that my NOA2 was approved in less than a week after sending my email. I dont know if she had replied or followed up on my petition.

I still consider myself a June filer, since I sent my petition in June and the petition was received in June in Laguna CA but according to some people, I am a July filer since thats my receipt date on my NOA1. Either way, the day has come..

We got approved for NOA2 on Nov 8, 2007!!!! I checked last night before I went to sleep and the website was not updated, that was already early morning Nov. 9. This morning (823am PST), my fiancee told me by Yahoo Messenger that we were approved.. Does USCIS have workers on grave shift? No touches, no followups, just patience... and just when I thought I was getting a RFE. And I didn't have to spend a grand or how ever much it cost for some lawyer to do the same thing and wait.... Thanks for all the posting here which has helped me get this far....

Forgot to mention, I think they send it one at a time for cases in Egypt as their aren't enough to send out many applicants at once. The last shipment I found with tracking number 8178539014 shipped out from NVC on Dec 3 to Cairo, Egypt and only weighted 1lb, thats probably who you are referring to.

I wouldnt say friendly, but accommodating.. Once you get someone on the phone, they immediately ask your receipt number. Then if they dont have it in the system, the representative will ask what the date of approval is, and then the speech of "Your case can take up to 2 to 4 weeks to get delivered to NVC and up to 90days before it is assigned a case number". Otherwise, once its in the system, the representative will ask who the beneficiary is, and then date of birth and then ask you your phone number. If you get to this part, you can ask them what the case number is and when they sent the packet to the embassy. So NVC is pretty much straightforward in answering questions. I found this out by calling NVC at 2pm everyday for two weeks.. until NVC got my packet.

Touch doesnt mean anything .. Just wait for K1 to be processed and look at the processing timeframe in USCIS. Relax and sitback.. Not all employees post an update on the USCIS website regarding each case. A "touch" only occurs when the employee stops his work and updates where he is at. I never received one touch for my K1 visa and look where I am now, Im already processing my AOS. So relax!!! and have a chill pill.

As people update their timelines, the system averages out all the dates, and unfortunately since the date input is pass the "average" waiting time, more and more of our cases are "adjuctuated" at a later day then first enter. Think about it, say 5 people have NOA date range of 1 to 2 weeks from filing, average would be 1.5 weeks, if another 5 people, get NOA date range from filing, and its averages out, 3 to 4 weeks, everyone NOA date range is moved from 1.5 weeks to 3 weeks...from the date of filing.. same concept applied to adjuctuate.. More and more people take longer now to get NOA2 then the previous batch and that moves the adjucated date further back.. Dont worry about this as most of the time, we will see the NOA2 way before adjuctated date on this website. My adjuctuated date moved from 6 months to 8 months in the course of my K1 process and ended up with the 6 months.. due to more cases were being adjuctuated so the waiting time cut it by 2 months.

Well USCIS doesnt file in order of petitions. Just depends on who is working on your file. Each Adjudicator has about 50 or so files working on them. The faster and efficient that Adjudicator is, the quicker we receive approval notices for NOA2 if no red flags are produced... There was a thread about this two or three weeks ago where everyone in June filers started posting their WAC and found out it was irrelevant.. Good luck in getting your NOA2!

You cant complain and make a difference, but you can tell your congressman/senator in your state and make a complaint that the processing time in DOH or any government agency is not acceptable. But remember, each case is treated differently and depending which country you are from will determine if you have a valid case to complain or not. For terrorists countries (or known terrorists) the waiting time will significantly be longer, since we are dealing with US security. In my opinion, you dont have a valid case to speed things up, even if you get President Bush to back you up.

They recommend 3 copies one for you, one to give at the interview and one for your SO in case something happens to the other copy. Some places will notarize for one fee if it's the exact same document they are notarizing, but others charge per page to be notarized.
