K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsBased on timeline data...

HA--- I just read the disclaimer under the chart...

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning.

Hehe, sorry... how silly i am *blushing*

Ha! When I started to write my post there was no replies! That'll teach me to keep the window open for half an hour before pushing the post button!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsBased on timeline data...

Hello everyone,

I have a wee question about the timelines...

Around the bottom part of your timeline table, there is something like;
Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 29, 2011 and June 14, 2011*.

I think the dates were different last night! it was something like "...between May 7, 2011 and May 22, 2011"
Does this thing change? and this is based on WHAT timeline?

would be great if you can kindly tell me~*

:D

neko

This timeline is a guesstimate based on user input data here and is always changing due to the service centers slowing down or speeding up.

Here is the official explanation:

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

Here is a few dates I saved from my timeline to see how they have changed over the last couple months!

12/15/10 : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 8, 2011 and March 17, 2011*.
01/06/11 : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 15, 2011 and March 22, 2011*.
02/01/11 : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 18, 2011 and March 23, 2011*.
03/03/11 : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 4, 2011 and April 20, 2011*.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 filed first week of October 2010 waiting for NOA2

hi guys... this is my first topic here....

just curious... to those who filed for K1 last october 2010 preferably on the first week... did you already received your NOA2????

i filed my K1 papers on the first week of october... got my NOA2 on Oct 4 and since february been updating my status at the uscis website... its already march 5 and is still in initial review... :)

I could be wrong, but I think there is only one from the first week of October so far. You'll probably get yours by the end of March.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTried to put in a service request with VSC today..
From the sounds of it, the 5 month duration is an average that VSC strives for and not a maximum. The actual processing time line seems to be closer to 6 to 7 months unfortunately.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVSC Closed Today Tuesday

Relax? Tell you what! I'll relax once Elena steps through the doors at Kennedy Airport in New York City and into my open arms.

The Vermont Disservice Center has declared total war on me, and I have no intention of standing down, not even for one second, until I have defeated this enemy.

Yesterday, March 7, was another supersonic day for California and another day of total failure for the total failures who run the Vermont Disservice Center. In other words, there was business as usual.

Correction. Everyone EXCEPT Al, please relax! ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow long until you can check your petition on My Case Status?
Keep in mind these two words: "Initial Review" Every time you feel the need to check your status online just remember those two words.

You would pretty much get 100% of the experience as if you had online access to your case!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNext time someone calls USCIS ask them if they know about our tweets
Honestly, I don't think USCIS being a government agency has anything to do with it. The same would have happened if it were a private company.

Let's say you are a customer service representative at a company such as Sony. The company sells a product that is supposed to have a less than 5% failure rate as per published specs. Turns out the actual failure rate is much higher, closer to 10%.

So you get a call from a customer asking if you know about their tweets. You have a strict script that you are to follow as part of company policy. Even if for some reason you did spend your free time following tweets sent to CNN breaking news, etc, you're not going to break from company policy and say "Oh yes thanks to the tweets we now know we are behind schedule."

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPeople Waiting for NOA2 for I-129F Petitions...
And don't forget this page which was made by a member here. It shows the big picture on a very readable graph so you see the fraction of approved, RFE, and waiting for each month. You can also see the detail for each user on the graph by moving the mouse over it.

This has been posted here many times but I get the feeling that people here don't quite realize how effective it is for capturing all the data.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNO NOA2 :(

I was worried about how VDC would do after their extended weekend. Could they keep the pace they had set before the holiday? Well, they never fail to not disappoint. I finally see ONE approval today.

Way to go, VDC.

Hey, that's one more than CSC so far!

The morning after I got my NOA2. I woke up and the first thing I did, as usual was to check on Igor's list. It took me over a week to wean myself off the constant checking. Now I only check it once in a while for curiosity.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsExpedite Request
I was pretty sure it was going to be denied so I wasn't too surprised when I got the denial email.
On Friday I just read the news about the earthquake and tsunamis and just freaked out and picked up the phone and called USCIS.
On hindsight it probably is best to just wait for the normal queue to process. We are #38 on Igor's list so hopefully it won't be too long now. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsExpedite Request

I do not wish anyone's journey to take any longer than it should. I simply can't support someone getting an expedite who doesn't need one.

It's not much of an "expedite" once you've already waited 5 or 6 months. It's more like having an external stimulus to get your case moving much like getting a house representative or senator's office involved.

OK I wimped out and called in an expedite.

An unbelievable easy and simple process and my first contact with USCIS over the phone.

Even if they deny it, I can at least think that I gave it a shot.

Now, there is a chance that my fiancee might not be able to come until end of May but at least we will have the option if needed.

For a bit I was tempted to request an expedite too but Tokyo is rather far away from the Sendai area so I wasn't sure if I should request it or not.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIs the I-129f REFUNDABLE?
I can definitely say that the initial NOA2 waiting time was the hardest challenge.

Things go much faster after the NOA2. We got our NOA2 on 3/16 and we are going to have the interview on 4/18. :)
YagisamaMaleJapan2011-04-10 22:19:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsEveryone should stop acting like big babies
The main issue is that most of us are not behaving rationally.

For at least a year, the normal processing time for both CSC and VSC has been 5 months. However, for some reason we don't think this estimate applies to us. I'm seen people post after 2 months that the process is "torture and unbearable". At that point the 5+ month wait should not have been a surprise.

I did the same thing too, checking Igor's list and my ranking in the line after just a couple months.

if we all just accepted that the process would take 5 months give or take a couple months (3 to 7 months) and not became obsessed with the process, we would all have a much easier time.
