I have a question about embassy interview: Is this worthwhile calling Russian embassy before interview (I am USC) telling them your story (since they listen only to the beneficiary during interview)? Would they even listen? Any experience with that? Telling your story before the interview? Nah! Because I know VSC is not working and my time increases and increases and increases... I have no reasons to check VJ during the weekend but I still do maybe somebody forgot to update their timelines ... very sad ! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filed in January- Planning to get married in July??	As I have no immediate plans to move to the US (we were thinking of applying for jobs after visa was processed), is it possible to get married there and then leave back to Sweden and apply for a new visa while we are waiting? If you get married before the end of the process that means you are no longer a 'fiancee' but a spouse, so your are effectively going to abandon your K1 application and start a fresh CR1 i.e. Come back to Sweden and go through the direct consular filing since you are both resident in Sweden. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filed in January- Planning to get married in July??	Hello! My financé and I were planing on getting married in July this year. He is Swedish and we are both living in Sweden. I received the NOA email today (2/9) with my case number and, according to my status, they received my application January 24th rerouted it to CSC and we are under 'Intitial Review'. Do you think that there is a chance that we could have this done by July 30th when we plan to get married in the US? If not, I guess we will have to start this whole process over again with a new application for a different type of visa, right? The seemingly harsh but realistic answer is 'No chance'. That date is too close, make it later or just hold off on wedding plans until you get closer to the end of the process, you can never tell what hiccup may come along. Good luck!	Mrs O. They didn't call, no email, nothing. Just came home and it was there. Luckily a family member was home to accept it from the courier!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F Expedite Request	Mine got approved in less then 24 hours. But Afghanistan is a lot more dangerous then other places and people there really hate the US and it's military.. My fiancé was threatened many times that she'd be kidnapped and I am not taking any chances..the bottom line is: USCIS does NOT want to be held responsible for her anyones God forbid kidnapping or worse, death. They just aren't going to take that chance, that's what the representative on the phone told me. I sent them all my paperwork, copies of my military service, certificates, discharge papers, old orders and a letter. It doesn't hurt to try...if anyone believes they have a legitimate reason they should go for it. What's the worst that can happen? Good luck to everyone! I'm just waiting on NVC to send her paperwork to Kabul so I can fly out and be there with her. First I want to say THANK YOU for your service! And a big Congratulations!! I am looking forward to restoring a W201 Mercedes I picked up for my Fiancee. First order of business is working with her to convert it from auto to stickshift. Very cool! My guy is a bit of a car geek too, but he doesn't restore them just likes to look at them once guys like you are done. What he'll be doing is looking for all the local car shows that he can attend. I can never get anything done around the house. He said he's looking forward to being able to help me. He also has a boat here that needs a lot of maintainence since he hasn't been allowed to vacation here since last year. This will keep him very busy. Maybe the guys could buy an old car that needs a lot of work and they can make it a hobby to fix it up? It will keep them busy and then they'll have transportation at the end of it. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APPROVED!!!	We're APPROVED!!!! My fiance had his interview today at the Vancouver Consulate and I was with him. The interveiw itself lasted only 10 minutes but the total time at the consulate was 2.5 hours. Lots of waiting but it was all very easy. We were complimented on the organization of our package and documents, thanks to all the help we received here. Thanks Visa Journey!! There was another guy there for his K-1 and he had used an attorney. He paid a lot of money, waited a lot longer and was missing documents from his package. He was approved, given he mailed the docs to the consulate. More waiting for him. I'm so glad we found this site and used the guides here.
