Help us understand better. Has she filed the N400? As far as I know filing is not free. She is less that 75years old so will be paying both for filing AND biometrics.

Second that, send deed and no harm done with sending the complete document ( just a little extra postage cost :) )

US Citizenship General DiscussionPicture on Certificate of Naturalization

The photo on the Certificate of Naturalization is the one they took at your biometrics appointment.

Arrrgh, that's not good news for me. I had biometrics less than a year ago , so most likely when I apply next month, I might be told I don't need a new one. The picture I took on that day was horrible! I hate seeing it on my 10yr green card. I wont like to be stuck looking at that on my cert for life.
Is it possible to insist on having a new bio appointment? The biometrics fee is not refunded anyway, so why not use it?

There's an ASC next to my office building but I know I'll be scheduled to appear at the ASC closest to my home. So I plan to do walk-in at the one next door when the time comes. Never hurts to try.

US Citizenship General DiscussionDid USCIS lost my application? (Urgent)

Greetings,

I sent my package on May 8, 2014 using Express service. On May 9, I tracked the package and got the following info:

Your item was delivered at 11:27 am on May 9, 2014 in LEWISVILLE, TX 75067 to USCIS. The item was signed for by K COLTRIN.

Its now May 29, and my checks haven't been cashed, nor have I received any NOA from USCIS.

Frankly speaking, I'm not in any rush but I'm still really concerned about what happened to my application. I was looking at the time line of everyone, and they usually cash the check within 14 days.

Let me know if there's anything I can do.

Thanks!

 I'd be a bit concerned...are you sure you didn't file too early? Are filing based in 3yr/USC Spouse or 5yr residency?

It would help if we knew what sort of package you are talking about. You posted in the US citizenship forum, your profile says ROC pending, but the Tx lockbox is for fiancé visas.

So what are you applying for?

Texas lockbox takes citizenship applications too

I guess if you can prove you reason, it may not have an adverse effect on your eligibility...

Continuous Residence

...

?Continuous residence? means that the applicant has maintained residence within the United States for the required period of time shown above.

Extended absences outside of the U.S. may disrupt an applicant?s continuous residence.

If the child is a green card holder and still under 18 at the time mom acquires citizenship, she automatically becomes a citizen too.

US Citizenship General DiscussionGeneral comment about inline.

And they don't say this officially but background checks on individuals from certain countries of interest tend to take longer than others. And the background check needs to be completed before one is placed inline.

US Citizenship General DiscussionNeed info on when to file n 400 for my step daughter

Since she will still be under 18 at the time , she automatically becomes a US citizen when her mom becomes a US citizen. You can apply for a US passport for her using her mother's naturalization certificate.

N600 is optional. File for it if you want her to have her own certificate of citizenship, but usually a US passport is enough evidence of citizenship.

US Citizenship General DiscussionWaiting for N-400 interview in Santa Ana

Im waiting for my interview schedule at Santa ana as well but I think that office is just slow as heck. Ive been inline since June and today is the 3rd month waiting for my interview schedule.

The inline notice says to contact USCIS if you don't get scheduled within 90 days of being inline for interview. Have you tried calling them?

On XXX XX, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 90 days of the date above, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.

US Citizenship General DiscussionEVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR FOREIGN SPOUSE

Hello! I am about to send my N400 based on marriage. On the check list it says :

If you have a dependent spouse or child(ren) who do not live with you, send:
Any court or government order to provide financial support; and
Evidence of your financial support (including evidence that you have complied with any court or government order), such as:
a. Cancelled checks;
b. Money and receipts;
c. A court or agency printout of child support payments;
d. Evidence of wage garnishments;
e. A letter from the parent or guardian who cares for your child(ren)

    I am divorced with a mother of my kids. She takes care of them.She has a good job and she doesnt need my support. But I did sent money via Money gram and dont have receipts  What can I send to cover this part of the check list?

You are better off starting your own thread instead of hijacking another thread with a different issue. You'll get relevant answers that way.

US Citizenship General DiscussionCan my spouse/petitioner recent felony charges affect my N400?

I may be wrong but I think the language in that subsection is generic, used in many cases. In the case of N400, there is no "petitioner" per se. You are the applicant, and you are applying for yourself although her signature is on the application. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

ChinaScheduling Interview Before P4

Darnell, can you tell me if "SAFEFILE" can be used interchangeably with "transferred electronically"?

I think this explains the possible delay of P4s, unless someone can chime in and say that this is outdated information...

I think it's all bad timing, combined with the Consulate move.

http://guangzhou.use.../iv_faqs.htm#11

"NVC sends this letter when the case is transferred electronically to Guangzhou.  The interview cannot take place, however, until the physical file arrives at post.  Due to unavoidable delays in getting files through Chinese customs, it takes about 3 months for them to arrive at the Consulate after being shipped by NVC.  Once the Consulate receives the physical file, it will send a letter to the applicant with information about how to proceed with their application. Once all necessary documents have been submitted; all security checks have been completed; and (for numerically limited visa classes) the visa is available; the Consulate will schedule the interview and notify the applicant.  Interviews are typically scheduled 3-6 weeks in advance."

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Administrative Processing

I called back really late and had spoken to a gentleman on the phone who said he sees no admin or additional processing. He says from what he can see, which is limited, is that the case is being geared up to the last mechanisms of preparing for the Embassy. Also, he said that last week was a holiday and it kind of has a slow down affect for a brief while. So hopefully we will hear good news on our case soon.  smile.png

I also checked DHL waybill and late late today there was a shipment from NVC to our Embassy... I hope it is ours!

Thanks  for your reply, much appreciated.

Hoping for the best! Best of luck to you!

Asia: East and PacificNew Cambodian Law no marriage over 50

I just got a reply from my query to the U.S. embassy saying since we have applied for a K1 visa it will not be affected by this stupid ploy by the Cambodian government (my editorializing not the embassy's). That is encouraging...my deepest fear was that the Embassy buckle to this discriminatory concept of the pretext of maintaining good relations with the host country.

hey so we can applied for K1 Visa. it will not be affected by this stupid ploy by the Cambodian government?

If you are not married, then the fiancee visa is an option. While Cambodian law in regards to income would not apply, you would have to qualify for sponsorship under applicable US law.

thanks for your help because i want to get in engaged this year but i was worry about the income. i do have in come but it is up and down each month.
kewllimitsMaleCambodia2012-05-19 12:12:00

Get a better job and more income or you will not be marrying a Cambodian woman. Don't know how I can be more clear. Their law is very clear on this.

what about fiancee visa?
kewllimitsMaleCambodia2012-05-19 09:03:00

If Cambodia would consider you a foreigner, then you'll need to increase your income and document it well or no marriage to a Cambodian woman.

thanks i know little bit more about this. yes i am Cambodian but i am US Citizen. could i do anything else? i do have income but not over 2500. i save up money in the bank?
kewllimitsMaleCambodia2012-05-19 08:04:00
Asia: East and PacificIncome

If you found this thread and read the answers, you already know the answer. Yes, that's the law. If you are a citizen of Cambodia, the law may not apply to you. Have your fiancee contact the Cambodian marriage office and ask.

I am not citizen of Cambodia. and US Citizen. what can i do to marry her.did is the only way you can get them a fiancee visa and marry in the USA?
kewllimitsMaleCambodia2012-05-19 07:39:00
Asia: East and PacificIncome

That's correct. Many have misinterpreted the question. This is not a US visa requirement being asked about. It is the law of Cambodia regarding male foreigners marrying female Cambodians. No cosponsors because it's not about sponsorship. If you are not Cambodian and are over 50 or have income under $2,500 a month, you are not going to marry a Cambodian in Cambodia.

Whether you can get them a fiancee visa and marry in the USA is another question.

I've just got news from Cambodia about having enough income in order to marry wife. Is this true that I have to be making 2500usd per month in order to marry my wife in Cambodia? This i want to know and clear please help! what i can do. I must have some kind of money in the bank? and how much? I am Cambodian and i was born here in the state.
