US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCould ya proofread this for me?

Do you also have a letter from your employer to add to this stating your start date, salary, position and that you are permanent full-time? Maybe ask them to elaborate on how great an asset you are, etc., etc. :)

Oh yeah, I've got the other stuff. Letter from employer, bank letter, tax return, blahblahblah. I've just read here that it's a good idea to include a letter explaining your cruddy work history just in case the consular officer questions it. I can't be at the interview with him to explain myself. Thanks! :)

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 vs. Traditional I-130 (is the K3 worth it?)
Hello...

The caveat to the K3 getting approved first is that AP must be granted in order to travel, EAD must be granted before she can work.

We chose the CR1 solely on this basis, rather than the K3 because of our circumstances. Of course, everyone's circumstances are different, but have a look here:

http://www.visajourn...om&page=compare

Because of your specific circumstances, I would think that the K3 may be a better option for you.

Good luck in your journey !

Hi There Buttons,

Don't worry. You got packet 3-which is what you're supposed to get. You will get the other info soon enough-the reason for this is that you are a K3.
CR1's go straight to packet 4.

Do not worry. I know how nerve wracking this can be. Believe me...
Take a deep breath-you're in fine shape.

Hi There...

By the term "certfied", they mean it must have a state seal. You can send a copy, and they will be able to see the seal. This is what I did, and had no problems at all.

Good Luck, and I wish you a speedy journey !

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLondon/UK Interviews
My husband had his last Friday...July 28th

We filed a CR1...

Questions were:

Were you in the military?

Have you ever had an alias?

When will you be moving to New York to be with your wife ?

That was it.

No questions pertaining to the relationship, how we met or any other supporting evidence was ever asked for.

Not to say this happens to everyone...
I sent him with joint bills, our bank acct statements, photos, e-mails, our wedding invitation - to our surprise, it was quite simpler than we imagined.

Some folks have been asked for pictures, and aksed how they met.
London is quite easy-nothing like the inquisitions that occur elsewhere...

Do not worry, and best of luck for a speedy journey.

All The Best,

Rose

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon Interview/Medical Exam in Scotland or London?
Hello, and Thank you for the info...

The information I got was a while ago, reagrding that they performed them on the same day-months ago, in fact and from another forum that I used to belong to before I found this one. :D

Can he simply book the appointment, or does he wait to hear from NVC to do so?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon Interview/Medical Exam in Scotland or London?
Hi,

My husband and I are at the NVC stage just now of our CR1- we just sent back our DS-3032, and AOS bill.

He will be having his interview in London- however, he resides in Aberdeen, Scotland and will be there until he moves over to New York.
Will he have to go to London prior to the interview for his medical? Or do they schedule that within a day or two of the interview?

I have heard of different experiences regarding this, and I am not quite sure how this will be sorted...

Will the medical be handled in Scotland, or London???

Thanks !

US Embassy and Consulate Discussioncase receipt number doesn't exist....:(
Hello !

Don't worry... That number is an NVC case number- not a USCIS number ...It's just a matter of not being able to track an LND # through USCIS.

Call the NVC at (603)334.0700 and the prompt will ask you for the NVC case #.

Good Luck & Don't Fret !

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWhen to make medical appt for London???
Hi !

I am an avid planner and have a question regarding the medical appt. in Knightsbridge.

Our case is at NVC just now, and not yet in London.

We are at this stage in the process:

We sent back the DS-3032, I paid the AOS bill and I am waiting for the actual I-864 pacakge to hit me and for the DS-230 bill to get here as well.

My husband lives in Aberdeen Scotland, and has to travel 2x to London. Once for the medical, and once for the interview. If all goes well, I am purely speculating here, but perhaps a June interview is in our future???

How soon should he make the appt in Knightsbridge? Will he be instructed as to when? Or is it at our own discretion?
I may be jumping the gun here, but as I say-planning ahead is something that has worked well for us during the process and I would like to keep the momentum going...

Thanks !!

-Rose

Hey There !

As long as the fee is paid, they're OK. You can use a credit card or a debit card.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOne last I-134 question before I leave for Vietnam
Hi Ya Matt,

As a rule of thumb-make 2 sets of copies for everything.

One for her.
One for you (an extra just in case anything gets lost)
and the originals for them if they ask.

I have found that covering one's butt gets you places in this journey we're all on.
Always anticpite that someone will not do their job properly, and lose something. Be one step ahead and be ready, just in case they do. Saves time, sweat and grief.

If I do not speak with you before your trip, I wish you a good and safe journey. Have a great time with your beautiful lady.

If so, he can use them.

I am self employed and used 1099's for all 3 years of my taxes submitted with my 864. There were no problems at all using them.

Hi There,

Don't worry...all cases are different. No two circumstances are the same. There are SO many variables invoved...
Give it a few days, and then check in if you don't get anything.

Hi Salwa,

I have been in your shoes, and it is a terrible feeling...but you need to know that it will pass and you will be OK.
It used to freak me out too, when I would hear an awful story or read a post with a tale of horror...but, do remember that is only a small percentage...the majority are stories filled with success and happiness.

Derive comfort from the fact that this separation is temporary, and in a short matter of time, it will be history.

You have a life of happiness ahead of you. Embrace it !
You will do fine on your interview.

Have faith and trust that you will be fine.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionwells fargo Bank being difficult!!!
Awww...Fiona, that is awful.
I too, had issues with them a while ago trying to obtain info from them. I had my mortgage with them, and they were just so...user unfriendly.

Andrew needs to call customer service and get a supervisor on the phone. He can get the letter notarized at a realtor's office. Tell him to remind them that the bank statements are HIS legally, and if they cannot accomodate him as a customer of the bank, he has the option of switching institutions, and he also has the right to report that they are withholding HIS banking history to the Federal Trade Commission - customer's requests for information on THEIR own accounts must be furnished upon request (when requested by the person holding that Social Security number.)

Once they see that they cannot "mess" with you, they become quite agreeable. This is how I had to get my mortgage statements during my re-finance.

Good Luck Girl !

Hey Irish,

If done in Ireland, and they will cost nothing and it's one less thing to have to do here, once Mr. Irish is in the states. If they are done during AOS, you'll need medical insurance to cover them.
Just something to keep in mind.

Our circumstances are a bit different, as we are CR1 and I have only basic hospitalization-so I advised Mr. Bruce to get them done in Scotland rather than paying for them.

Hi...

Our case was received in London last week, and apart from scheduling the medical-we are 100% ready with regard to required docs.

Should I send London a ds-2001, or do they generate that for a CR1?

Also, when would be a good time to send them a personal letter via e-mail with our intent to proceed and that we have all we need on hand to proceed?

Thanks in advance. I haven't seen many CR1's going through there lately, and would be grateful for any info.

Rose
