I was allowed to be in the interview with her as long as we didn't answer for eachother. We planned to pay the DS-157 on the friday before, and were unable to. it was so scary, we had to go to Manila and pray that we could pay our application fee the day of our interview. We were scheduled for 6:30, and we got there around 4:30 AM and spoke to a guard. He said to go to the bank at 9:00 and just come back after we get it paid. We got back to the embassy around 9:20 and were able to get in for ur interview. We had a male CO in room #27. He was very nice and asked us maybe 2 questions each.. we loaded the pre-screener with evidence. she seemed to want all we could give. letters, emails, call logs, and anything else we told her we had. We got out of there around 12:00. It was so amazing. we were scared they would re-schedule us since we had to pay the visa application fee the same day as interview. We asked if we could get visa pickup and he said it was up to us, and that the computer system in washington dc is acting up a whole lot, and he said it would most likely be friday or later with no guarantees. We decided to just pay delbros and have it delivered because we didnt feel like staying in manila. I'm gonna be in RP for 2 more weeks anyways so we just hope it gets delivered soon. oh yeah.. Now we just need her to get the passport back so she can goto her CFO Seminar in Cebu. The major hurdle has been leaped. it is smooth sailing from here. Both my fiance and I called the USEM today 8:00 am to try to schedule for the interview. We were both told that the system is not up yet and we have to call back on March 18th. I even talked with the supervisor because I was a little upset about the USEM's website with the wrong information that the system will be ready on March 14th. So no luck for me. ack!!! For everyone else who is going to try to call the call center, save your $$$ because I called once last night and once early this morning in Manila time. I will not break it down detail by detail because previous posts here abt interview experiences are all correct! i'll just give some tips anyhu.. 1. if you are scheduled 630am - come to USE as early as 430am, the guards open the gate for 630 appointments around 430am. 2. if you are scheduled 7am - come at 6am or quarter to 6am. They call in 7am - 730am appointments around 6am. 3. Bring out your original appointment letter and 1 valid ID when you fall in line in the entrance. 4. do not bring any electronic items (celfon, psp, ipod, camera, etc) 5. if you have members of your family to accompany you or friends, they won't allow it except if you are sick, disabled, or old.. but if you're with a US citizen, you're VIP! 6. yes, they make you drink a little from your bottled water! 7. upon entering the building, guards will ask you to form a line (in the benches there), you must ready your DS156, 156k, and 157 forms -- these will be submitted in the ticket booth. DO NOT sign yet the forms. this will be done in front of the pre-screener. 8. come well rested... because waiting sucks! really.. aside from boredom, imagine the agony and anticipation. you must be alert all the time, numbers in the que board are in no order. and sometimes they call your name. speakers are bad. sounds like a chappy reception. 9.No need to bring your xray from SLEC 10. what the pre-screener asked will be just the same with the consul during the final interview (mostly) bloopers: 430am - i fall in line with the 630am scheduled applicants. when the guard checked my appointment letter, its 7am. he told me to go back to the waiting area and we will be called around 6am. I said I dont want to. he was surprised and said im not allowed to stay there. i said its dark and there are too many mosquitos in the waiting area, i dont have someone with me and i feel safe there with him (being a stubborn filipina hihihi), kuya guard smiled and said OK. i can stay there standing in front of him, my call. i still have to wait 1.5hrs before i can enter the premises. I said its alright. We ended up chatting and as people started to come (still 630 scheduled applicants) I am blocking the way so he let me in! yay! 840am - at the pre-screener window 26.. the lady was nice. she was amazed with our file from NVC (the original 129f with attachments) it weighs 7lbs! yes, coz my fiance really put his time in completing our documents, he submitted all evidences we have. the lady said " i will be having muscles with this one ".. she asked for my forms, signed them, she asked questions, i answered all without sweat, ask for the affidavit of support, gave her, then she said i can have a seat, wait for my number to be flashed. I said wait! what about any more evidences? pictures? letters? she said no.. our file is huge enough! it all ok.. but i still insisted. i said mam, can u at least take a look at these coz they're nice.. i made a scrap book! plus i have like 4 other folders (emails from george, emails from me, western union receipts, phone records).. she was laughing and said "ok let me see ur scrap book".. hehehe and i showed her 10am - final interview with the consul window 28.. he looks like a mix of indian and black american. he is chubby. small. he has a beard too. he wears glasses. the booth has speakers, and he wears a headset with mic. funny thing is when its my turn, his mic is not functioning anymore. i cant hear him clearly. i have to really get my face in the window and kinda lean my right ear there. he tried to fix it but it wont work. time is running. so.. we ended up shouting at each other! for real! it was weird and funny. he asked like 3 questions only. that's it! he said "well mam everything looks good! u may take your seat and wait for ur name to be called for releasing" -- shouting.. i was shocked in happines, then i shouted "sir am i approved?" he laughed and yelled "yes you are!" i was out from the complex around 11am they didn't even asked for my doc verification.. Philippines	Visa in Hand 4/4/08	YES YES YES............HEY, Stuart pick up the Visa on Friday 4/4/08....I was with him the whole time...I think that made a VERY BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!!! At first they were giving hom trouble about my income, I am a Full time Student in Grad School with a part time job, But I was lucky to have bank statements with me, or we would have to get a sponsor......We are leaving Johannesburg in 16 Hours!!!!!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Medical Exams	Hey, only use the doctors in Johannesburg....We went to the doctor in Cape Town first....He took our money and then we found out that the embassy never re newed his contract.....Only use Johannesburg!!!!!!! after you get the P3, right before your interview date....once your send the P3 back, start calling the embassey everyday to get a date...it took us from 2/14/08 to 4/1/08 for a date!!! Hi, KellyC posted this on my messages instead of yours, I read your post today about the I-94 form that your fiancee did not return upon leaving the US. That happened to my fiance, only he figured it out about a month after he left. He contacted the embassy, and they put him in touch with the corporation over here in the US (in Kentucky actually) who you have to send your I-94 form and a letter of explanation, and then you have to allow 4 months for them to clear you. Now, I don't want this to frighten you or make you worry, but it did take 4 months for my fiance's status to be switched. This wasn't a problem with us because the USCIS stalled with our approval and ended up taking 5 months to have it approved anyway. I would DEFINITELY contact the embassy and your case worker right away to make sure this isn't going to be a problem, and if so, then what you must do to have it taken care of immediately. Those of you who have had interviews have you done this? Some of the questions on the form from what he was telling me seemed a little different but I do not want to bring this if it is not necessary. Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)	Getting Discouraged	Hi, We sent our paper back and they recieved them on 2/14/08....our interview date was 4/1/08........when she has her papers filled out is it possible for her to email them back to the consulate...it cuts about 2 weeks out...and call every day,even 2 times a day, (27 11) 644-8000 Ext # 8124 or Ext# 8141 (We spoke to a very buzy woman named Ericia)...was was very helpful getting a date, but you must keep calling once they have your P3....You do not need anything back from them just the date and you show up.......She said the 2nd week of every month they start giving out the following months appointments, for example this month 4/7/08 they would be giving out appointments for June...and if they are booked call every day to see if there is a cancallation.....Just keep callin!!!! Thank you, Consular Section Johannesburg I cant believe that once she sends in her checklist that it will take 6 weeks to get her an interview!!!!! Just wanted to give an update: We just received our AOS interview date by mail this past weekend the day before our 1 year anniversary! I was just getting over the EAD we recieved by mail only the week before. Things are happening really fast I am kind of caught off guard! Hey, Clearwater Florida is nicer than the key's and also 1/2 the price....not too many people know about it...it is next to Tampa...you have beautiful white beach's, Bush Gardens and Disney is 1 1/2 hours away.......I've been there many times, and just love it.....the best place too stay is the Marriott Hotel right on clearwater Beach...You fly into Tampa airport and the hotel is about 1/2 hour away with no traffic...to rent a car there is also very cheap! If the Marriott is full, the Radison is right across the street...I believe the Street is called Gulf Blvd and i is the Sand Key area of Clearwater beach...... Africa: Sub-Saharan	South African Interviews	Hi Everyone, Has anyone from South Africa got An Interview For April...........We Have been calling the US Consulae in Johanesberg since 2/14/08...All thet say is that March has been booked since Feb 14th and they still have not gotton their April Schedual for April......Does this sound usual to anyone....
