From what my sister told me...she's in the RN program and wanting to become a midwife....she said that ironically there are more Y chromosomes than X but the Y chromosomes are slower swimmers than the X so its harder for them to win the race to the egg so to speak. But you know how sometimes you see a couple who has ALL boys...hmmmmm....super sperm. haha. I don't know if ganga has a play in all this but I know they say it cuts your sperm count, so who knows. Bwoy Lita, Mi nuh knoa bout DAT! My hex husband was the BIGGEST POTHEAD and em give mi 2 boys! I have heard that ganja cuts the sperm count also! But he did have aduaghter with another woman so maybe the ganja smoking is cyatching up with him! I have also heard the more boys you have starting with the 3rd boy, their likelihood of becoming a homosexual increases by 33% from your 1st boy...isn't that bizarre! Anybody else hear that? It was on 60 minutes a few years ago. A British study, I believe. Needless tuh seh Missa Young wants a Daughter! We'll see...maybe in 2009 if all is working out alright. From the infromation I've received already, it seems as if SJG's a good place for locals and tourists. I did hear about them being strict when it comes to people coming on the property (to the lobby area) that are not guests', but I'll have to see when I get there. I'll let you know. Girl, they are a TOO damn strict with that. I had to cuss them out in June last year. A friend of mine was getting married and Sandals, so a lot of the guest stayed at Jamaica Grande (most of the guest were Jamaica). I had to tell off the security guard, because we walked into the town and they must of changed shift. He's going to quesition my cousins and I about how long we've been on the property. Now, we all had our wristband on. I asked him if he was damn blind and when he stood in front of us I lost it. I said, you would not treat anyone else like that so step the *&%^ off. He wanted to know when whe checked in and that he had not seen us on the property. Main reason I hate staying at resorts, I think they treat the JAMAICANS differently. At the Riu, I purchased day passes for my cousins and the guard wanted them to stay at the gate then walk up. Now, the walk from the gate to the front desk is a long A$$ walk. I said abosolutely NOT! I told them to call the front desk. Why the hell would I try to sneak people into the property, which was what the guard implied. I was so damn upset. When he checked his log, he had my cousin's names there. I love Jamaica Grande, because everything is right there. Ochi can be a little crazy at times and I'm sure ya'll already know. Hold on to your HANDBAGS...all they have to see is the WRISTBAND and you're an instant target. Mi hate dem blinking wristbands yuh see! I told the Manager at HI...they need fuh come hup wid a bettah system...cause to me it's like painting a Giant 'F' pon yuh back saying "From Farrin'!!" I had to carry on BAD wid the manager at HI! Cause when we (my boys and myself went off the premises) I would cut them off and when we came a ask for new ones! Well they wanted to charge me $25.00 each...everytime! I had to tell the Manager that if he was willing to take mine and my children's lives into his hands then feel free. I wrote up a document and wanted him to sign it stating if anything happen to my children or myself walking around with those wristbands that my family had the right to sue not only the Holiday Inn , but the Manager personally! Of course he refused to sign it (I wrote on it aware of notification and refusal to sign and faxed it to my cousins Law office in NY (they also practice in JA.)) My cousin called me as was like this aint worth the paper it was written on and what was I up to? Thank G-d the manager didn't knoa dat and told the staff fuh see wid mi han deh band dem. We must have gotten 6-7 bands when we where there and not a cent was charged!!! Dyam foolishness! Ken was like 'Wow, dat deh manager don't give into NO ONE!!" But it's because 2 German tourists were robbed by gunpoint & assaulted the week before we got there...that I think he caved! HATE those flippin' bands! Ok, as many of you know I live with my Father and my boys on LI, NY. I have been saving for Ken to come-up and move out...I figured about late June/early July. WE ASKED KEN'S AUNT (Who lives in the Bronx) if he could stay with her until we save up enough $$ to move out! WE asked her even before we filed..."Of course...you're my sister's son...where else would you stay ray tay tay!!" We asked in July...December when we got our NOA2....in February ...when we got a date. "No problem"...EVERY-BLOODCLAAT TIME!!! Ok, so Ken calls her on Thursday to let har knoa wi git through...wat does dis blasted ooman seh..."Well, mi pickney dem (18 & 22) kindda get big now and mi nuh tink mi ave deh space!!!! AWATDEHBUMBARASCLAAT YUH A TALK BOUT!? She never knew she didn't ave deh space inna HENNY of the prior months dem! Yuh doan know wi arready...Wi diddna drive wid NO frigging license...through Chalky bloodclaat Hill...bus our ras fi jump through deh TEN million embassy hoop dem fi git our approval fuh give hup now! Suh, now I am running around trying to find em a place fuh em tuh stay til wi can move out! We planned to go out shopping tomorrow to buy a few things... Guess what I'll be getting... Thats right a brand new COACH bag!! I'm thinking if we get lucky enough, and lets say my SO gets an interview when I'm in my third trimester and really pregnant and can't travel to go to the interview with him, will this be held against him? If the interview is some time after I give birth, I def. plan to be there. 2) The G325A form asks for employment history for last 5 years. My SO was attending UWI until this last semester when he was forced to take a leave cause he couldn't afford tuition, when he did work during this time, it was doing odd jobs and not on the books. He just recently was able to get a legit job. Will this be held against him? Should I put that he was a student in that section, or leave it blank? 3)I've gathered pretty much all of the evidence that we have to prove our relationship including pictures, emails, phone records, and travel itineraries. The problem is when I flew there to see him I did not keep the boarding passes I was thinking of copying the stamps on my passport and putting it together with the email confirmations that I received when I booked my airfare online. Is this enough proof of travel? I don't have prove of hotel receipts b/c my SO paid for the hotel when I visited. 4)Finally, how do I put together all that information? in a binder with tabs? scrapbook? Thanks! ps: sorry for the long post. You can just write student. Use the passport stamps. You can just copy the pages. I used a folder, ACCO clips, and tabbed sections. Make sure you have a copy of your original petition. Make a copy and send it to your SO. That's where they get MAJORITY of their questions from...duh! I didn't realize that until I keep seeing the same pattern of questions being asked over and over again. Also if you haven't filed yet. Make your description of how you met as brief and concise as possible. The more details you give them...the more questions they can ask! I only wrote a paragraph of how we met (because I was too dyam lazy & annoyed fuh go inna more details at the time). But it worked out for the best in the end! For those of you that have interviews coming up...GET YOUR 2007 tax returns!! If you have those for whatever reason they are pleased! You DO NOT have to have the transcripts for 2007...just the return. Nuff people went up with 2006 and they seemed annoyed...some people even got a blue slip to come back when they have them! My family has been through a lot of loss in the past few years, and those of us that remain have been brought closer together by it - I couldn't be so far from my mom (would break her heart) or miss so much of my nephews lives. D is close to his Mom, but by phone only - he hadn't seen her in two years before my last trip. I told him that I could easily move to a warmer climate, but within the US and it would have to be after he was here and we were established - reality is, I make a good living, and we will need that in the beginning. Ultimately, I would love to have a good enough income (win the lottery, whatever, lol) that we would be able to live between both places - spend the winters in JA, summers here. Immigrating and adjusting is no joke - three of my closest friends moved here from South Africa, Scotland, and Ireland - Even coming from countries that are somewhat similar to ours in educational systems, etc... they all had a hard time adjusting - My friend from SA went from being a straight A student to getting Ds in English - all because of the style by which she wrote = I used to help her to edit her papers, and she went back to an A student - but it was hard for her. I know someone else who came up on a K1, was married a few years, and divorced - his ex did everything for him, and he didn't learn how to do anything for himself. When they split, he had no clue of things like how to balance a checkbook, ATM fees, doing a resume, school, etc.... and had an unbelievably hard time. Even though I haven't started the process yet (hopefully after my next trip, we have some stuff to sort out first), I think that I have a good grasp on what it will take - and I already know that the hardest thing for me is going to be stepping back and letting him make his own mistakes. But I also know that if I don't do that, I would be setting him up for failure. I hear yuh sus...but I'm like Lawny...if I could mek a descent pissa change inna JA...I would move me and my boys back in a heartbeat! In recent years I have had so many family members that wouldda DEAD if dem nuh reach farrin'...turn back and go back home it's not even funny! I think that' one of my biggest fears...where I live at least is not anywhere near as social as JA is. Where yuh cyan jus walk outta road han hangout listen music and drink a green bokkle. Here...you have to go to a bar for that and that a totally different atmosphere all together. It reminds me of when I first moved here. My father missed the whole social aspect of his pubs. Back home in England a pub wasn't really like a Bar...pon a friday night the whole family would go down to the pub. My sister and myself would get Babycham's and my parents would just sit and chat wid friends. I keep trying to explain this to Ken...but unfortunately I think this is something he will have to see and learn for himself! I am hoping that he will find other social activities to get involved in...like right now my son's soccer team is looking for an Asst. Coach (Ken would be perfect)....we'll have to see! I have been trying to get him enrolled in a GED program...so he can start that ...but ... Time will tell.
