ShaNette, that man was OUT OF ORDER 100%. Shame on him for what he did to you in the past & for the stunt he pulled in CHURCH on resurrection Sunday.

Dillon, I hope he does well. That reminds me of something I COMPLETELY forgot to share here!

We went to Craigslist last week and the first job we clicked on was for a new cafe opening nearby (within 3 miles of where we live). We read the details and saw that it is a Caribbean cafe. It also required a food handler's permit. So we went about getting the permit, then sent in Steven's resume. Well, he got called back a few days later for an interview and turns out the place isn't just Caribbean, but Jamaican!

Once it opens, it will be the nearest Jamaican restaurant to where we live. Anyway, Steven has an interview for the position in 30 minutes. I feel like this is meant to be, for it to be a Jamaican restaurant and the FIRST thing we clicked on. I think God put this in front of us, but even if it doesn't work out, there are over 15 places within a few blocks of where we live that Steven can apply.

That's so great Nat!! I hope he gets the job. How ironic is that?! Go Steve go!!

Happy things all worked out.....guess we all have bad days sometimes...just keep the lines of communication open

Definitely! I'm big enough to admit I for sure need to work on that. B/c when I'm annoyed the most I will say @ that moment is " I'm real irritated so leave me alone." & he sure does exactly that.

Awww Mo, I'm glad to hear you guys had a heart to heart and are now on the same page.

I think you all will enjoy the movie. We saw it on Saturday night.

I know I will love it. He saw the 1st one but when I asked him to join me for this one he jokingly said " if mi nah kno why mi get married already". So we will see b/c he's infamous for falling asleep. But I will nudge him if he does.

Good day everyone!!! It's a beautiful day here in NY. I can't wait to leave work. 5pm, hurry up!
Weekend was nice. Friday, hubby "did an about face." We took train to city. & he loved the auto show. Every minute he wanted a pic inside a car. He enjoyed train ride too. I stressed to him that we have subways also but they aren't as pleasant as the trains we took. & the oufit I got for him, he loved it. He looked real good in the clothes.
After car show, we walked a few city blocks. Oh yea, I had to go to Macys on 34th. We got home late.
Saturday, we developed printed pics & went shopping. My son was w/us too.
While on train we spoke about our recent differences. We now see eye to eye on them.
So overall, weekend was wonderful, sexy parties & all.
After work, I'm going to watch Tyler movie. Should be less crowded.

Welcome ta married hood chica. It sounds like your hubby is going through the depressing stages of missing home. With him not working and everything being new to him it sounds like it is starting ta get to him and in turn he’s taking it out on you. They never truly understand how there life will come to a stand still until they get all der paperwork completed.

I guess he does need to understand how your phone works. You figure when he had Digicel he could chat as long as der is money pon de phone. Not the case over here. I know your pain with Sprint. My phone got shut off too because I was chatting away even thought I had the Intl plan. Lets just say by the time I pay off Sprint it will be like I almost bought a second car so it will have to wait for a minute.

About your son I ca n see you begin upset. Its like umm honey excuse me your supposed ta be watching him. Go out and enjoy take some whoo saw time and then maybe when you come back try to sit down and talk about things calmly, maybe over dinner or going to the show might be a good idea for an outing. What ever you do don’t let it fester tell your hubby dat you want to talk not argue scream fuss or fight but talk. This too shall pass. Stay strong mami!!!

Well the acct is in collections which I hate. But I'm going to turn in back on shortly but we have to be clear on phone usage. Plus I'm going to put a block on his line. He has to utilize phone cards. Enough is enough. I'm trying to save $$$!!!!
I did my nails & eyebrows. He complimented me so he is seeing the light. Lol
I'm @ barber w/him now. So soon we will head to city. Prbly come

Life's Journey, I wonder what else is behind the revoked visa story.

Mo, I FEEL you on the cell phone story. Similar thing happened to me. Steven thought he was calling people using their Rebtel numbers (.20/minute) but was using the call history & instead calling their Jamaica lines directly (I had put both numbers for each contact in his phone). When I saw the overages, my heart DROPPED. Fortunately, it was still during the billing cycle, so I called T-Mobile & had them apply the international plan to the phone. That cut the overages by 2/3, but it was STILL a lot (I think around $80). Since then, we've only had one instance where he ran it up an extra $80 or so, calling his mother directly on her friend's line instead of putting it in Rebtel.

But as of yesterday, we're following a STRICT cash budget which will limit international calls to $70/month (whether topping up phones or Rebtel). I don't think it will be an issue because when he first got here, he talked to his family/friends ALL THE TIME, but now that he has friends here, he doesn't call Jamaica as much.

Eric_Jew Nug & Philly, I hope my supervisor (who just started the role yesterday) lets us go early, too.

Nat, it seems as if I'm going to have to implement a strict budget over here too b/c there is no $$$$ tree in my backyard

Oh my goodness, I have sprint and I'm scared that G will do the samething since there they talk til dem credit done. If and when you pay the bill, they have a long distance plan for $4 ; cell is 34cents a minute and landline is 14 or 34 cents a minute, I'm not telling you to get it so he can use it, I'm telling you to get just in case he uses your phone to call Jmaica again and don't tell him the plan is on the phone. Call sprint finance, give them a date that you can pay at least $100, pay the $100 and ask for another extension when you pay the $100 and keep doing that and they'll restore service.
My guess to his reaction is that he's probably stressed that he's not working. Go do your nails, feel good about yourself then ask him nice and kind if you guys can talk it out, see why he's not so in the mood... Don't approach him when your upset.

Kjenkins, I have it. The $4 international plan. But it didn't help. So when I do turn it on, I'm putting a block on his line. He'll have to utilize phonecards. And the extension thing, did that too. Mind you, I called to give $1100 the other day. Lady refused b/c it isn't total past due. Ha e you ever. Bill collectors deny $$ in this day & age?! She also said acct is in collections. Straight madness.

Well, I just asked him if he still wanted to go out. He said, "yes." so city here I come. That was wise b/c as I said it's a nice day. & sitting in house all day would be extremely boring. Hope we don't have any disagreements on road or train. More than likely not but who knows.

Some of the guys are on an emotional rollercoaster when they come and have to sit and wait for the AOS paperwork to go through. I tired to my hubby until I was blue in the face during the AOS waiting period. I tried to be understanding as much as I could, but sometimes you just can't hold back and have to let it rip. I would ask him and if the answer is no, then oh well he'll just sit in the house a little while longer. Don't let it stop your flow. He'll come around.

I sure hope so.

Morning Mo...you sound just like me. I would have handled it the same way you did. My hubby does not understand how something works either. He cannot use the phone to call JA but I did put him on a budget for calls I add $20 to Ringyard every 2 weeks and when it done it done. He has gotten the handle of it now so he does not finish $20 in 2 days. Most of his friends have the overseas call on their phone so they call him now. I hope he comes around.

I'm glad I'm not only one. I've even told him that. It's cheaper for them in JA w/oversea credit to call us. I hope he come around too. I know I can be trying, but he hasn't seen Rashida like MrsTee would say. As I said I'm going to pamper myself just now. I will run the city thing by him again. Hopefully he still wants to go. Otherwise, it's me alone w/the streets

Morning. Beautiful day here in NY. I have/had plans to go to auto show in city & also watch tyler new movie. Only thing is hubby has had some dead vibes of lately. My son is w/his dad & I figured this would allow us some "alone time". So wrong. 1st off I got him some clothes yesterday. Up til now he hasn't looked @ them. I approached him yesterday & asked him if he intended on coming upstairs. He responded with "whether upstairs or downstairs, it's the same thing. & how he will be looking @ a tv." I went off. I told him I got him some stuff & all now he hasn't come upstairs to see it. He replied " if I didn't buy anything, I wouldn't chat to him." A little insight ladies, hubby ran up my sprint phone bill to unimagineable amounts. They turned phone off. Now I have the outrageous $$$$ they want. But why should I pay it ASAP?! Ppl of importance have house #. His JA ppl don't. So he is suffering more. I miss my texting & my son calling me. When I approached him about phone, he says "sprint a thief." Now being ignorant b/c you don't have an idea about how contract phones work doesn't go over well w/me. So when it comes to that, I believe I ha e all right to be pissed. 2ndly, Monday my son says his tooth fell out while I was @ work. He said "daddy told me rinse my mouth." I replied" you called daddy for that? & I asked my son y he didn't tell cory. He told me cory was in bed." when I arrived home, I asked Cory if my son tooth fell out. His answer was " ah so him say" I went on about proper supervision & how he couldve looked in his mouth just to make sure everything was ok. I told him if it were his son, I wouldve done that. He tells me, my son is alright. That's beside the point!! My point was proper supervision!
I don't know ladies. I do know I'm getting out this bed to go do my nails & eyebrows. My man!! Boy oh boy. Well I hope he looks @ clothes, b/c I will return them. Anyhow, every1 enjoy the holiday weekend. Also give me your opinion about what I've said. Thanks

I'm going to Atlantic City for 2-3 days, it'll be our little mini vacation. He's only been here one month but being that I'm staying at my family's house for now. I'm hella tired of my sis and her kids. Can't even break my bed the way I want to.

Funny Kjenkins. I reside in family house two. I'm upstairs. We make it happen!! Only thing is when we are in room together, my son has a habit of ALWAYS asking if I'm ok like every 10 minutes. Very protective. If I'm out of sight & quiet, my son is curious & concerned. My pumpkinhead

Morning all!! It's so gloomy here in NY. Raining. My weekend was ok. My son, hubby & I went shopping for spring coats. & true I love reggae music, I downloaded some new ones. Laid back. End of week though, we will be in city for annual auto show @ Jacob Javitz Center, not to mention admiring the sky scrapers plus SHOPPING!!!! Hubby will be with me, so that will most likely be WINDOW SHOPPING. Lol. He always says "do you really need that?"
Safe travelling J(forgot who already!). I wish I was heading down. Now when hubby is here, like 6 of my friends are heading down in May. I wouldve love to join them. But the way things look, not until X-mas.
Spanglas, my hubby is anxious to work as well. But it's a waiting game now with immigration again.
When arriving in JA, it was a breeze. I too, knew where to go. Exiting the airport was always amusing to me. Reason was men, were always calling to me. Taxi men & just men complimenting me. While they did this hubby was usually @ bar to immediate right out of MoBay airport loving that I was his!!

Thanks Mo.. I actually decided to go look on USCIS website because I was speaking to another member and she was saying she believes its okay who I made the check payable to. On the USCIS website, it says to make the check payable to Homeland Security or USCIS so I may be okay. I just didn't want them keeping my money. If I have to send it back thats fine. Thanks for support mi sista.

No problem for the support. Anytime!! That's good that their site states it allows checks to be made out the way you wrote it. As always, goodluck

Wow, you are tall Mo...like a model...you and JQ Smiley Boom...I try not to wear heels too often either...I like to be comfortable more than anything else...nothing is sexy about your toes barking after being in dem cute shoes standing up all night...oh baby no! And ain't nothing wrong with them dirty 30's.

LOL DW. I agree. Standing in heels @ club & dancing actually irritates my knee. In my teenage years I had a work related injury to my knee. So at times it's real painful & swells. Poor young me!! I need more therapy.
MrsTee, sorry to hear about your mistake. Hopefully they won't waste time to return it to you so you can once again be on your journey. You'll be fine. It happens to the best of us.

Thats what Im talking about Acory. Girl tall is sexy     I love my height but I didnt want to make me taller with heels, until I got with my hubby he is 6'5 or 6'6, so heels are ok now.

Yes the green yellow and purple hair is off the hook, Typical non hair colors. I dislike it also.
Now I love me some weave and hubby get so mad and say your hair is so tall why you extend it like that. but its convenience thats why I wear it. :star:

In your case, I'd love my heels too. Your hubby is tall. My hubby is 6'1". I wear my natural hair but as you said, weaves are so convenient. Oil sheen & go depending on style. So I as well hear the wear your own hair or he will sing Tarrus Riley song "shes royal". Verse in there about natural beauty. He'll be alright, weave & all!

JQ, told you all this phone is going to get tossed. I responded withen your post. Lets try this again. I relate to you w/the heels. I'm tall as well. According to doctor, 5'11 &1/2". So for heels I wear them but not regularly. Over 30 & wearing ridiculous color weaves is a no. Please, no offense to anyone.
JQ, IDK what else right now. Just keep it grown & sexy. & I too am heading to 30s door in a yr.

So guys any fun plans for the weekends???

My step mom worlks for TI (tresure Island) hotel and has 6 tickets for Sinbad.

He is not that funny to me, but I feel like it is something grown and sexy for me and hubby to do, since we been clubbing it for the last few weeks, due to him DJing at the Jamaican and Ethiopian Club.

Wow you guys I was listening to the radio this morning. '
Topic was what should you stopped doing when you get 30.

They were saying a few things that were funny but I dont think they are even over 30.

I feel that you can comment if you are there and have matured enough.

I feel you on the heels. I wear them but I somewhat dislike being EVEN TALLER. I'm 5'11 & 1/2" according to dr. Well you have long hair, but I dislike older women w/ridiculous color hair weaves. No offense to anyhow. IDK, just keep it grown& sexy. & to am approaching 30(in a yr).
So I will be thirty soon and I feel that there are some things that I need to change about my self.

1. hairstyle. I still rock bangs and I need a new mature hairstyle. I have long hair so Im not cutting it but I need to get something done sexy!!!

2. tennis shoes and boots and anything I feel was cute I will rock. and I love my NIKE boots that are high under my knees and other shoes like that. maybe I need to do a heel more but Im 5;10 and I never wore heels due to my height.

3. wardrobe nothing wrong with that Im fly as he!!l!!!!!!!!1111

So thats the topic after 30 what do you guys feel is a nono[url=

Tee, I see yours is out the door too. Congrats! We will be in this next phrase together!

Have a great weekend Yardies!!

Glad things are on the up & up w/the house in contract. If things keep going the way they are, it should be fair to say I can expect a VJ house warming in the forceable future. LOL

Okay Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I just couldn't wait to jump on here to say that my hubby has a job!!!! :dance: He got the very first job he applied for!! Yayyy.. He will be working at a Senior complex doing Custodial work. Funny thing is that he applied and when he went back the next week to check on his application, they said they hired someone. He was dissapointed. The lady was very impressed with him though and his resume (patting myself on the back and thanking Lady C and Sunny) she said she would call him if they needed anyone else. Low and behold she called today!!!! He will be starting on 7/1 (what a nice birthday gift for him) It has full medical coverage, 401k benefits, paid vacation and sick time. We go tomorrow for drug-test. It's pretty much a done deal. He can walk or ride a bike (which he wants to do) and his hours are 8 to 5. Weekends off... IM SO PROUD OF HIM!!:dance:

Anyone's hubbies who he talks to ladies, please don't say anything especially on FB. He wouldn't want me talking about it just yet and I understand it.. but shoooo yall family

Praise God!!!

Congrats to Steve on getting a job!!!!!
