Hey guys smile.gif
It's been a lazy Saturday. I went to Staples and bought a 13 slot accordion type folder for all my paperwork to take to the interview.

Now, I know that people on here have posted over and over and over again what they are bringing to the interview and I've used the search feature and haven't come up with one...we need a new search engine on this site!!! Anyway... blush.gif
I also thought I book marked a few of the pages but apparently, I did not. sleep.gif

So I'm breaking up the sections of the folder and I want to just type it all out here and see how I've done.

Any input or suggestions on anything I'm missing would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you are all having a great weekend star_smile.gif

1) Birth Certificate (My original, plus a copy of it and a copy of Nick's)

2) My passport, a copy of Nick's and my two passport pictures needed for the interview

3) Files Needed: DS230 part 2, DS156K, Copies of the ones I sent in with package 3, DS230part1 and DS156

4) My original marriage and divorce certificates, plus copies of each

5) Police Certificate plus a copy

6) Medical exam folder

7) Affidavit of Support I-134 (notarized) plus supporting documents, 3 years of Nick's tax returns, Nick's pay stubs from a few months, a letter from his employer and bank statements. I'm going to throw in a few of my pay stubs too.

8) Copies of NOA1 and NOA2 and Appointment letter

9) New letter of intent from both Nick and I

10) Proof of Ongoing Relationship: photos, emails, letters and phone bills

11) Travel Documents since filing original petition: boarding passes, receipts and bank statements from restaurants and stores purchased in Canada and the States

12) Other stuff: Copy of receipt for engagement ring and our wedding bands, any other stuff I want to throw in.

That's it....how does it look?

Make sure honey!!! everyone needs a pass to do stuff at the park ..
its only 25 dollars and it saves ur spot its actualy for parties of 20 people and less i got mine because the park rangers are so annoying. ...
if u go into the central park webpage it says that u will need it .. It saves you the spot for 2 hours =)

Thats what I did i had 10 people with me good.gif

I'm sure, I checked the website as well:
Information on Wedding Ceremonies
Elsewhere in Central Park

Other popular places include The Pond, Cherry Hill, Bow Bridge, Shakespeare Garden, East Green, Cedar Hill, the Mall, Hernshead, 100th Street Pool, and Harlem Meer. For permits for these and other areas of Central Park (required only for parties of 20 people or more) there is a fee of $25. For information, please call the Special Events & Permits Office of the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation at 212-408-0226. Or visit their website: www.nyc.gov/parks

We are getting married at 11am and our ceremony is about 10 minutes. The minister says she's done dozens there and if people are in there she kindly asks them to leave and most people are very accommodating.

Thanks for thinking of me though.

Actually I won't.
For parties of 20 people and under there is no permit required. I've already spoken to the Minister who will be performing the ceremony. She has married many many people in Central park and informed me we don't need one. There will be 4 of us smile.gif

QUOTE (shang @ Apr 7 2009, 09:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You got to love this guy...

This is a true story about a recent
wedding that took place at Clemson University .

It was in the local newspaper and even
Jay Leno mentioned it.

It was a huge wedding with about 300 guests.

After the wedding, at the reception, the groom got up on stage with a microphone to talk to the crowd.
He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding.

He especially wanted to thank the bride's and his family and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a lavish reception. As a token of his deep appreciation he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him.
So taped to the bottom of everyone's chair, including the wedding party was an envelope.
He said this was his gift to everyone, and asked them to open their envelope. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 glossy of his bride having sex with the best man. The groom had gotten suspicious of them weeks earlier and had
hired a private detective to tail them.

After just standing there, just watching the guests' reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and
said, 'F---you!' Then he turned to his bride and said, 'F--- you!' Then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said,
'I'm outta here.'

He had the marriage annulled first thing in the morning. While most people would have canceled the wedding
immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with the charade, as if nothing were wrong.
His revenge--making the bride's parents pay over $32,000 for a 300-guest wedding and reception, and best of all, tr ashing the bride's and best man's reputations in front of 300 friends and family members. This guy has balls the size of church bells.

Do you think we might get a MasterCard 'priceless'
commercial out of this?

Elegant wedding reception
for 300 family members and
friends: $32,000.

Wedding photographs commemorating the Occasion: $3,000

Deluxe two-week
honeymoon accommodations in Maui : $8,500.

The look on everyone's face
when they see the 8x10 glossy
of the bride humping the best man: Priceless.

There are some things money
can't buy, for everything else
there's MASTERCARD

and remember, adjudicated does not mean you can enter the States. Your case is forwarded to NVC and then to the consulate in the beneficiaries home country.
Then package 3 and 4...getting the medical, police records, affidavit of support with the corresponding documents. Then they book your interview.
The whole process takes anywhere from 6 to 10 months. Sometimes longer.
Hang in there!!! rose.gif

Hi GC,

Yes, We renewed my Hubby, Ken's passport in 2009 via the J'can Consulate in NYC. (We wanted to make sure they accepted his passport pics, b/c they have a bad habit of rejecting the passport app due to poor quality pics. We went mid-May (they told us 3-4 weeks). Ok, we started getting crazy b/c we had a trip planned to JA in the beginning of August & it was mid July & no passport yet! So I called the Consulate & this Sweet guy who worked there bent over backwards to get it expedited & shipped up here from JA TWO days before we left! I would say to be safe... expect 12-16 weeks for the passport, b/c we done know how Yard stay wid time! LOL

Good luck & blessings,

I have to tell you if I traveled all the way to JA & went to MY Embassy only to be told I couldn't come in...I woulddah guh MAD!! At the very least...Senator, Congressman, PRESIDENT would get a call from me requesting a detailed explanation as to why I, as a US Citizen in a foreign nation was not permitted inside my own Embassy!! I mean even if dem sey 'You can't go into the Interview room.', that's one thing...but to deny entry to the Embassy all together is ridiculous. I am really sorry to hear this news. Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies - How did you meet your SO?
Beautiful Stories Ladies!!

Here's ours:

Ok, so I had just finalized my divorce in October 2006,after 2 years of marriage and 6 years of 'trying' to make it work separately. My family had planned a trip back to JA for my Godparent's 50th Anniversary, in November 2006.

I was staying at a hotel near Mo Bay and Ken worked there! He said 'Hi' my first day there and I grumbled 'Hi' back...I was so anti-love and men at that point. I didn't want to hear it. Everyday, he would find me and make sure to say 'Hi' or ask me 'How I was doing?' Well, he asked me to go to dinner with him and I hadn't really gone out since I had gotten to Mo Bay, I agreed. We went to the Ville and the Pelican for a Wacky Wednesday party and danced the night away! I hadn't had such a good time in YEARS!!

We went to Coral Cliff the next night and just talked until I missed ther darn bus back to the hotel. And we went out the night after that! I really enjoyed his company and his passion to do better in life!

He told me I would marry him on the the day I left and I just laughed. We exchanged numbers and I went home. We have spoken every single day since. Sometime around Christmas 2006 we realized that we had fallen in love and I was scared witless! I went down to JA in February 2007 and had a really good time with Ken again. Then I went back to JA. with my sons in June 2007, (I needed to make sure that they would get along with him.) And the last night I was there he asked me to marry him and surprisingly ...I said yes!!

So I say all this to say...Never say never...cause you never know what Jah has in store for you!

I filed for my Baby July 2007 and he arrived April 2008! I married my best friend on 6/8/08. I truly feel so so blessed to have found him and a chance at REAL love! I never believed in the whole 'soulmates' thing until I met Ken! We deserve each other! Our life is not perfect...but we both know what we have is truly special and we are committed to us...Gill & Ken...Forever Young luv.gif !

Bless-ed,
Gill

The thing about what you said, Gill, it comes and goes. When some others went through before and around me, the K-1 was the quicker/better way to go. Now, it has kind of switched gears. From what I am getting, it goes in cycles like that all the time. You can never count on anything.

Maybe you will get lucky Tre. I am hoping and praying for you!

I agree with JG...Lawny the whole visa process whether it be CR1 or K1 is just so hit and miss. I wish there was a way that the USCIS could give us #...you know when you call some offices and the recording tells you that you have this many minutes to hold until you get through...somthing like that would be helpful!

I look back now and ok...I saved myself a couple of hundred $$ filing in July...but I certainly didn't save ANY time! People that filed in February are getting NOA2 now! Lawny, for the life of me I don't know what is up with yours...hang tight Chica...it IS coming...trust me!

But then G-d does everything in his time and there IS a reason why I had to wait until now for Ken to get here...
not for me to question why...but to say 'AMEN!'

Bless,

Oh really?! well man, what are they waiting for! Maybe you should ask Gill if there were CR1 visas being issued on her day. I can't believe there are more CR1's vs K1/K3 visas coming out of Jamaica. But who knows.

Yes, there were both fiance(e) and spouses interviewing on my day... couldn't tell if they were CR1 or K3's though! All I gotta say is I am SOOOOO regretting not marrying my man down there and doing a CR1! I'm sorry for my situation and circumstances CR1 would have worked better. And when all is said and done...I probably waited the same amount of time for my K1 completion as I would have for a CR1!

Good luck to all...blessed,

By accident I flew them to Jamaica last June. (Once again Air Jamaica's scheduled plane was down with electrical problems) mad.gif

The plane was very nice, seats were comfy enough and the flight crew were very professional!

I would say go for it!! Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Bless-ed,
Gill

I just wanted to say goodbye.

I have asked that the book thread be closed. I no longer am able to enjoy it, nor our forum due to the continued antagonizing and provocation.

It is my time to move on from here and I thank those who have helped me to laugh and get through this journey a lot easier. It has been an extremely tough journey for me and one that has lasted 3 years. Keep us in your prayers !

I wanted to rally together those who share a kindred spirit with the exchanging of our experiences but it was not meant to be.

The relentless antagonizing and provocation by one member in particular is no longer worth my time to focus on. I forgive her !

God bless you all with the best !

My wife will be coming within a week or so, and I have a question about the customs form they give on the plane...

Does she declare herself as resident? does she need to fill out any other forms?

thanks

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin, Part 25!

Mo, why would you want to see the movie when it's less crowded? I'd be fine waiting until it came out on DVD except this is one of those movies that I think will be enhanced by a crowded movie theater & participatory audience.

Watching the 1st one with Steven on Friday, I was remembering comments the audience made when I saw it in theaters. Sometimes the audience comments make a scene more funny/poignant than it really is.

Also, it's great that you two were able to see eye-to-eye after a talk. That's something we struggle with, due to our complete difference in how we respond to/approach situations. My wonderful husband is EXTREMELY sensitive & emotional, and doens't respond well to my flawless logic. So I stay explaining my point of view with logic, and he stays explaining his talking about feelings. We know that we're different in that way, but it's still frustrating.

He's calling me with the results.

Nat, it's more so that I prefer to see it today as opposed to when it came out in theatres. I'm fairly sure there were no seats available that day or Saturday. But I'm going to see it this evening so hopefully seats are available. Plus I don't believe ppl frequent movie theatres on Mondays. But w/weather nice, I may be surprised

ShaNette, that man was OUT OF ORDER 100%. Shame on him for what he did to you in the past & for the stunt he pulled in CHURCH on resurrection Sunday.

Dillon, I hope he does well. That reminds me of something I COMPLETELY forgot to share here!

We went to Craigslist last week and the first job we clicked on was for a new cafe opening nearby (within 3 miles of where we live). We read the details and saw that it is a Caribbean cafe. It also required a food handler's permit. So we went about getting the permit, then sent in Steven's resume. Well, he got called back a few days later for an interview and turns out the place isn't just Caribbean, but Jamaican!

Once it opens, it will be the nearest Jamaican restaurant to where we live. Anyway, Steven has an interview for the position in 30 minutes. I feel like this is meant to be, for it to be a Jamaican restaurant and the FIRST thing we clicked on. I think God put this in front of us, but even if it doesn't work out, there are over 15 places within a few blocks of where we live that Steven can apply.

That's so great Nat!! I hope he gets the job. How ironic is that?! Go Steve go!!
