The Most Sheer Lingerie

A Jamaican man goes to Victoria Secret to buy his wife the most sheer lingerie he can find. The woman behind the counter goes and gets an outfit.

"This is $200," she says.
"Yuh nuh ave wan more sheer?"says he.
"This one is $350."
"Nuh suh, mi want wan even more sheer dan dat!."
"This one is the most sheer that we have. It's $500."
"Dat good, mi will tek hit!"

The man goes home to his wife and shows it to her saying, "Guh put dis on han mogel hit fuh mi!" His wife goes upstairs, opens the box and thinks, "Dis ting is suh see-through, deh hole coot wouldn't even notice if mi putti on or not. Mi a guh act like mi putti on han tek hit back tuh deh store han git mi refund!"

So his wife comes out wearing nothing at all and strikes a pose at the top of the stairs.

offtopic45vn.gif With that being said JATam, i was wonderng the other day how everyone came to find VJ? I was told about it from a woman a met on another forum who happened to see me mention i met a man in Jamaica. She told me of VJ waaayyy before we were even close to deciding to get married but she surely led me in the right direction. i always wonder where would i be now, if I hadn't found vj. I took 10 months from joining VJ to filing my petition. But I learned so much in that time.

So tell me...how did you learn about VJ?

GOOGLE laughing.gif laughing.gif I found VJ at the point when NVC sent me the request for hubby's birth cert., our marriage cert. and his police report. Based on how I knew the process was, that threw me, so I started searching for info on this new change for JA. Thankfully VJ popped up and I have been blessed with meeting all of you!!!! wub.gif

Ditto...I found VJ via Google too! I joined in December 2006...checked the Yardie thread got WAAAAAY to overwhelmed and logged off til I actually filed in July 2007! I haven't shut-up since laughing.gif laughing.gif I love love love my VJ Yardie family!! I feel blessed to have found you guys! Will ask my husband what he does.
We live in MD but he works in DC.....

Looks like I should FINALLY have the AOS package out by tomorrow...Just have to get the affidavits of support notarized and pick up the medical forms from the civil surgeon....

I sooooo badly want to work....Just keeping kicking myself about taking so long to do it.....Even if we get everything off this week, will probably be getting the EAD in MAY sad.gif

What happened, JAE? I thought you were taking a year of maternity leave.

I am getting paid for 18 months of maternity leave, but I still want to work during it!

We need a deposit for a house etc....Hate the thought I'm 'wasting' time at home while I could be working.
Again, hubby is home until 3pm so he can look after the baby until then.
My MIL retires soon, so she would be overjoyed to keep the baby for us too.

The only downside about working now is that I can't get references from the UK until after the first year of maternity leave has finished.

Finally mailed the package off!!
Well hubby is as we speak lol....

Just realised that it's EXACTLY a year since we started the whole process, kinda spooky...

The civil surgeon charged $50 for both medical supplements, picked them up this morning smile.gif

GOOD FUH YUH JAEngy wink.gif ...mi nuh blame yuh a BIT!!!!!! I here yuh bout the deposit bizniz!!! Hevery likkle bit helps yah! Why siddung a wait pon sittin' when yuh can guh out han gitti yuhself!!

I hope everyone had a good night!!

Too all my expectant or soon to be expectant Mama's out there...please make sure you are taking a multi-vitamin containing Folic Acid!!! I was watching the 'Today' show and a new study came out that all women of child-bearing age who are or looking to become pregnant should be taking Folic Acid daily. It cuts the chances of birth defects in HALF!!!

OK, just spreading the word...on to the chuckle!

Jamaican Government Workers

These two Jamaican government workers were working along the roadside.

One man would dig a hole two or three feet deep and then move on. The other man came along behind him and filled in the hole. While one was digging a new hole, the other was 25 feet behind filling in the hole. The men worked right past the guy with the soft drink and went on down the road. "I can't stand this," said the man tossing the can into a trash container and heading down the road toward the men.

A befuddled onlooker went to men and said: "Hold it, hold it. "Can you tell me what's going on here with all this digging and refilling?"

"Well, we work for the government and we're just dong our job," one of the men said.

"But one of you is digging a hole and the other fills it up. You're not accomplishing anything. Aren't you wasting the taxpayers' money?"

"You don't understand, mister," one of the men said, leaning on his shovel and wiping his brow. "Normally there's three of us: me, Elmer and Leroy. I dig the hole, Elmer sticks in the tree and Leroy, here, puts the dirt back. Now just because Elmer's sick, that don't mean that Leroy and me can't work."

He said, first thing I would do is throw all your stuff out so I would have room to buy more shoes.

I said....oh, that is it. I am not shipping your body back to JA. And, we are having open casket.....I am dressing you in a red hat, blue shirt, plaid puple shorts, and green shoes!!!! He sucked teeth at me.

BTW.....One immigration lawyer told us that when we file the I-130 for my husbands daughter; we will most likey be required to submit an offical DNA test, and recommended we try adoption. He referred us to another immigration adoption lawyer that told us it will be nearly impossible to adopt my husband's daughter due to the fact my husband lives in the states and we are married. So her chances of coming up isn't looking very well. My husband is very upset about it. He can deal with the fact the girl is not his, but on top of that her not being able to come live with us because of it is really tearing him up inside. blush.gif He wants me to go ahead and file the paperwork anyway,(holding on the the bit of hope JATam offered) hoping we get some out of the ordinary immigration person. Who will let her through wit jus his name being on the BC.

I don't see what is so difficult about it. Being that he has been her "father" in every sense of the word, all her life, is on the birth certificate, and if the mother agrees to it.........I just don't see why it would be so impossible. Probably lots of paperwork, I'm sure that's a give. But, still............

Don't let someone telling you the word "impossible" deter you. You guys have got to try.

Prayers for you!

AMEN!!! good.gif Well Said JG!!

Brownie, NOTHING is impossible with G-D!! You know how I stay arready...nothing ventured...nothing gained! File and see...

QUOTE (Jengles @ Jan 30 2008, 11:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or not at whom made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection.

Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger.

Think of all the great women in the bible: Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood flow, and Esther, to name a few. Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land.

Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, "What's up with her?" ask yourself, "What's up with me?" That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be me. Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi.

Pass this to all the women in your life. Encourage and Love, Forgive and Forget, and trust that the woman that receives this will be touched in some way.

May peace and love be upon you.

Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, but FAITH looks up

That's beautiful Jengy...Thanks for sharing!

As for breastfeeding in public, I find the States very different than the UK.
In the UK, women breastfeed in public, no-one bats an eyelid. Also, the MAJORITY of places have breastfeeding facilities in the restrooms.
Here, not so many do.
I refuse to breastfeed him in a stall, so if the mall I go to has no facilities, I pick a Macys or large department store and feed him on one of those couches. Haven't been thrown out yet.

My gurl we think a like. But you know I had to cuss out a few people in (it was HECHTS at the time, now Macys)...my sis was with me...and my son was 3 months old I found a nice quite corner and here she comes. "Do you have to do that here"...LAWD ave merci on my soul...I had to finish feeding my son, get situated...put my shoes on (was about to take off my earings and bring out the jar of vasiline but I didn't innocent.gif )...and tell her which part of her mumah she come fram. Well I don't like the cloth diaper idea but Target makes these biodegradeable diapers! So great! And cheaper than your std diapers. As far as the formula thing... i really won't give it to my baby. i am pretty health conscious about what I put into my own body so I surely will be that way with my child. I know it takes alot more work and time but once you get in the groove of preparing a healthier meal its easy. its the same as eating fast food just casue its fast. yes its convienent but is it really the best choice. Now I am sure formula isn't all bad for you, but I rather not introduce chemically altered foods so early on if I can, they have the rest of their lives for that.

I think you mean you PLAN to breastfeed your baby. Nothing is CERTAIN.

That's what I'm saying. I planned on both of mine. Had these perfect grand ideas of how it was all going to go.

First one, my body would not cooperate whatsoever. He was 10 lbs. at birth, so that might actually have been a good thing.

The second, I did for about 5 months. I worked in an accounting office, tax season and 60+ hour weeks kicked in and the body stopped cooperating once again.

Yup, I hear you on that JG. My first one was a monster and I didn't produce enough milk to sustain him for more than 20 minutes. So, I had to supplement with formula. But I still gave him the breast for a year.

The second one was allergic to my milk and had to have a $20.00 a day formula that dyam near killed me!! I actually did my thesis on Formula companies that went around to 3rd world countries telling women that Formula was better than breast to make a buck!! mad.gif mad.gif So, these poor women that were making on average $15 dollars a month were KILLING themselves to give their babies formula!!

I believe in breast feeding! If you can...DO!!! It is usually the best thing you can give your Baby! Case and point, my first son is rarely ill and my second one is ALWAYS suffering from colds and picks up any germ within 20 miles of him!

Gill

lawny I so feel u on this one..My job doesn't give paid maternity leave...I have short term disability but that's only 6wks...if they think I'm leaving my chil at 6wkx to go back to their work..dem out a dem mind....dats why mi cancel our vaca for this year cause mi a tek the rest of the year off....pay me or not oh well. My company is sooo big they have their own MRI u think they would have some good maternity benefits to make the women want to come back to work..it's so terrible...

six weeks is nothing, your body needs to rest and then with the stress of baby on top of that, u can't be focused when coming to work.

EXACTLY...so dem tink ppl a run back a wuk just cause dem nah pay u...long dutty kiss teet..dat mek mi even more no waant come back...dem stink like 'ish mi si 1 girl have baby and was back here in like 6wks...mi couldn't believe it..

Jengs mi happy dem ago be 3 yrs mi and my sister after me a 3yrs..we kool well now..but mi used beat har ####### when wi younger she tink she did fiestia dan me !

It's so true! It's because unfortunately our country places a bigger value on the almighty $$ than on Children or family! I remember the first days that I had to go back to work after having my boys...mi bawl...mi bawl...mi bawl huntil!!! It's such a gut-wrenching choice...your child or your house, food, car and everything else our checks help pay for!!

Plus, childcare has tripled since I had babies...I really feel it for my sisters with Babies!! My cousin was telling me that a daycare center she was looking into putting my Godson in was $350 per WEEK!!! I DYAM NEAR FEEL OFFA MY CHAIR!!! I used to pay $175 a week for both of mine and this was 6-9 years ago!! It's disgraceful!!!

Gill got me hooked on "Strictly Da Best" Cd's. They are fantastic! Anyways I really like this artist "Alaine". I want to get her CD but I can't find it on the net anywhere really. I found one copy out of the UK for like $28 plus a whole lot in shipping. How come the cd isn't available easier? Even her record label - VP records doesn't sell her CD on their website. What is up with that? Anyways - anyone know where I can get a copy that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Yes $3.99 WWW.AUDIOMAXXX.COM you can download it to ur computer and burn it or either have them mail it to u they have sale going on now i have her CD. I think shipping is free right now but not sure when that ends.

Stand By Your Man

Although her husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months,
his wife stayed by his bedside every single day.

When he finally came to, he motioned for her to come closer.

As she sat on the bed beside him he said,
"Yuh know yuh deh wid mi through all the bad times. When mi went bankrupt
and lost mi business, yuh stood by mi side. When mi get shot, yuh deh by mi side.
When wi lost the house, yuh was dere. When mi car crash an mi bruk up, yuh was dere.

Hersheys Hugs and Kisses chocolate candies on the bed in a heart shape. I picked out sexy lingerie which she laid on the bed....so pretty. She had also fresh strawberries to dip in chocolate, wine and massage and bath oils. We made a big mess but it was fun cleaning each other up devil.gif

My dance class rented a club for the a V-Day mask ball that weekend but we got knocked because Bounty is coming to town kicking.gif I've never known him to come to DC so I'm excited....Damien doesn't know yet.

So, you going to this dance. Maybe I missed this one. Where is he preforming. BK has been to DC plenty of time. Last time I saw him was at crossroads...they had to lock it down though...too much people. And the last time he was at the boy and girls club in Langley Park, the people mash up the dance, because he only performed for 10mins...so bottle start to FLING and that was the end of it. Bway our people can gwaane bad sometimes. I was upset too over the 10 mins, but we just left and the show was suppose to start at 11pm sharp, it performed from 2am to 2:20am...it was crazy.

laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif ROTF!!!!

offtopic45vn.gif Question:

With the I-134 is that the form I don't sign until I get infront of the interviewer or is that the form that HAS to be notarized before I go down!?!? I'm so sorry to keep bothering you guys wid this ish...but it is so confusing! wacko.gif

Nothing ventured ...nothing gained!

Great idea. I pray everything will work out good.gif

What if he went before the interview and got it done and then just took the official paperwork with him? Cause at this point, you have no official word that it is required of him.

I thought anything done AT medical was supposed to be secret and all that BS until interview.

That's a good idea! Dyam..then what you're saying is if it part of his interview...then they won't tell us til the interview...DYAM! I'll talk to him tonight. I spoke to him about this the last time I was down ther and it took everything out of me to broach it to him. But, I will keep no secrets from him and I felt if I was talking to you guys about the possibilty the least I could do was discuss my fears with my best friend! It was tough, but he heard what I was saying. i'll see how he feels! unsure.gif

Gill

unsure.gif unsure.gif

I must have missed it or I am lost...what article and why do you hope your instincts are wrong? Now you got me all worried for you huh.gif

A few weeks ago JA-Tam posted a Gleaner article that stated 33% of DNA tests in JA. came back as the father/child NOT being a match! I have had my fears about Ken's paternity of KJ for a while now. So, now that I was told by a VJ member that the Embassy did not accept a birth certificate issued only 2 months after the child's birth. I am thinking it would probably be best to do the DNA test when Ken & KJ got to MoBay Hope for their medical.

My only issue is if my instincts are correct we will find out that KJ is not Ken's son at the interview in front of the Interviewer and my Husband will be to put it mildly...DEVASTATED!! crying.gif crying.gif And so will I!

So, I was just saying that I hope and PRAY that my instincts are off and all the tests come back positive...(well not all tests positive...the drug test negative)...whatever you know what I mean laughing.gif laughing.gif

Thanks for caring Chica...love yuh fuh dat! luv.gif

Gill

Gill,

My cousin that came up a last year that's what happened to her fiance. They was so devastated that neither of them heard the CO tell them that they were approved. I'm not sure if he was with them during the interview or waiting in the car. That was the first thing they were told. He don't even remember if the CO asked him more than one question. You know what was really messed up though, the little boy told my cousin that he knew who his daddy was. His mother knew also, but this was just another way to try and keep her ex in jamaica. Well it didn't work, he left 11 days later. The little boy kept saying he was sorry and my cousin told him it's not his fault. It's almost a year now and her husband is still emotionally torn up about this. Does the mother have to sign some form for the child to leave with the fiance? I have a friend that is filing for her fiance, but he has 6 kids and I don't know how that's going to work. She makes more than enough money to care from them and her fiance, but that's a lot. (Any advice).

I'm praying for you and that all works out for the best...99.9% of the DNA and ----- for the (GANGA test)...is that the only drug they test for? If so, why? Let me not open that can of worms.

You see that's what I'm talking about! It would kill the joy of an approval (G-d willing) and mess us both up for everyting else!! Then I would have to get lock-ed up for beating a b**tches A$$ for hurting my husband!!!! Seriously, when he went to drop off KJ...I couldn't guh...cause it would be ON & POPPIN'!!!! I know me!

OK, like I am already playing this whole scenario out and getting heated and it's not even real! I will take it one day at a time and ask MoBay Hope if there is anyway we can get the results privately prior to the interview!

Nothing ventured ...nothing gained!

Thanks for caring Chica...love yuh fuh dat! luv.gif
