QUOTE (Ms. Hellwig @ Jul 16 2008, 11:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ladies,

I am at my wits end. I haven't been around the message board for a bit because I guess I was hoping I would have some answers or stuff would work, etc. It has been over two weeks since I've talked to my SO and I don't know what is going on or what has happened. He won't or can't take my calls. I've called cousins of his and friends. They were hopeful at first and said don't worry. One of his friends says he keeps trying to call him but is not getting through. I've asked his cousins to get me more contact numbers and they haven't called me back in a couple of days. I just don't know what to think......except that this has happened before.

We've known each other for over five years. We filed for a fiance visa back in 2003 but very tragically his oldest son was killed in an accident and my SO lost it which is understandable. He was all consumed with caring for his youngest son after that who was only 14 at the time and he cut me out and we broke up. During the last five years we reconciled and we were both ready to get married and make a life together so I filed for the fiance visa again.

Now we were as far as receiving Packet 3 from the embassy. My SO mailed in a form which I later found out was the wrong form, hence we still haven't gotten an interview date. Basically, my last conversation, as brief as it was, was that he sent in the wrong form. He didn't believe me. We made a date to talk later to go over the papers over the phone and make sure he gets the correct one sent off. He didn't answer my call. The next day I got ahold of him but he was busy so he said he would call me after church the next day. The next day he did not call and ever since I haven't gotten through to him.

I just can't believe we are so close and once AGAIN it seems he is losing it. More hurtful is that I just plain don't know what is going on. We didn't argue. No big drama.

May I request a prayer for peace with the issue and things to work out to God's plan. I honestly believed it was part of God's plan that he and I were together again. I haven't completely given up hope but it doesn't look good either.

Thank you all.

Oh Ms. Hellwig,

I am so sorry to hear this. You are in my prayers for a speedy resolution and the strength to handle it regardless of the outcome. I hope he at least opens the lines of communication again, that must be so painful!

You deserve so much more! Let him be...as much as you WANT him to WANT this ...he needs to WANT this for himself!

I know it is so difficult...but maintain your faith...Let go and let G-d work this out Chica!

Bless-ed love always,
Gill

Check this out ladies;

Location: Ghana

Rating: (3 / 5) Review Topic: K1 Visa

I went with my fiance for his interview in Ghana. When my fiance was called for his main interview I went with him to the consulate and after she asked who I was and why I was there she decided to do a as soon as she saw me she asked who I was and why I was here SPLIT INTERVIEW.

She interviewed my fiance and I seperately, my fiance was first then me. Afterwards she calls the both of us to her window, and this is how it went down

CONSULATE: Although you two know each other very well, and have too much evidence, I AM STILL NOT CONVINCED THAT THIS IS A GENUINE RELATIONSHIP.
I (USC FIANCEE): asked her why she felt that way?
CONSULATE: You and your fiance were dating while still married, which is suspicious to me, you have too much evidence as if you are trying so hard to prove something or cover up something, the fact that I was present for the interview is too much, why do I need to be here if I have all this evidence.
I (USC FIANCEE): I say to the lady, the reason I am here is support him, and we brought everything because we have already made wedding reservations that is costly and want to make sure we have everything you need to validate our relationship so that he will get the visa and we can continue with our scheduled wedding plans.
CONSULATE: Starts shaking her head and say no, it is her decision after all and she is not convinced even after doing our split interview so she will SEND petition back to USCIS and let them re-investigate the case.
I (USC FIANCEE) : Start raising my voice, and beg, cry and get mad all at the same time at the lady and she just gives us letter section 221(g) WITH NOTHING WRITTEN ON IT...SHE DOES NOT WRITE THE REASON FOR DENIAL ON THE LETTER AT ALL!!! JUST THE LETTER AND TELLS US TO LEAVE

THE NEXT MORNING WENESDAY JUNE 25, 2008.

I get online to VJ AND START POSTING LIKE CRAZY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME SEEKING HELP, I ALSO DID RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT REASONS FOR DENIALS FOR VISA AND NON OF THE CATEGORIES DESCRIBED ME AND MY FIANCE.

DEVOTED MEMBERS OF VJ STARTED REACHING OUT TO ME WHILE I WAS IN GHANA AND I GOT THE WISDOM THAT THE CONSULATE HAS TO WRITE THE DENIAL REASON ON THE FORM SO I CAN APPEAL OR AT LEAST HAVE IT IN WRITTING...SO THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO BACK TO THE EMBASSY AND SEEK A HIGHER AUTHORITY CONSULATE.

AT 12:00 NOON, ME AND MY FIANCE ARRIVE AT THE EMBASSY....THE SECURITY GUARDS WILL NOT LET US IN BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. MY FIANCE DECIDES TO BRIBE OR PAY ONE OF THE SECURITY GUARDS TO LET US IN....THE SECURITY GUARD SEEMED TEMPTED BUT HE WAS SURROUNDED BY OTHER SECURITY GUARDS. THEN I STARTED MAKING A SCENE AND SAYING THAT I AM A U.S. CITIZEN AND WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AT THE EMBASSY WHO DEALS WITH U.S. AFFAIRS. THE SECURITY GUARD SAYS FINE, THAT I CAN ONLY GO INSIDE AND MY FIANCE HAS TO STAY OUTSIDE.

I ENTER THE BUILDING, AND AS SOON AS I ENTER THE FIRST CONSULATE I SAW AND SHE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF INTERVIEWING SOMEONE AT THAT TIME...I WENT TO HER WINDOWN AND INTERRUPTED HER INTERVIEW AND SAID PLEASE I AM HERE TO SEE THE SENIOR CONSULATE, PLEASE LET THEM KNOW I AM OUTSIDE, I AM LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT.

THE CONSULATE NODS, AND CONTINUES HER INTERVIEW, AFTER SHE IS DONE SHE DISAPPEARS AND THEN RE-APPEARS AT HER WINDOW WITH ANOTHER LADY AND POINT AT ME. I COME TO THE WINDOW NOW ALL TEARY EYED...AND THE LADY ASK MY NAME AND PASSPORT, I GIVE IT TO HER SHE TELLS ME TO COME TO A DIFFERENT WINDOW. I GO THERE AND SHE IS ON THE COMPUTER THEN SHE SAYS " SORRY YOU DO NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SENIOR CONSULATE" WHERE IS YOUR APPOINTMENT LETTER. AT THIS POINT I START REALLY CRYING AND EXPLAIN TO HER WHAT HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY AND SHOW HER THE DENIAL LETTER AND SAY AT LEAST CAN I HAVE THE DENIAL IN WRITING SO I MAY CHALLENGE, OR APPEAL IT?

SHE SAYS SHE IS THE VICE PRESIDENT AND THAT SHE WILL ARRANGE A MEETING WITH ME AND THE SENIOR CONSULATE THAT SAME AFTERNOON AT 2:30PM FOR ME TO COME BACK AND HE WILL RE-INTERVIEW ME AND FOR ME TO BRING MY FIANCE TOO.

ME AND MY FIANCE RETURN BACK TO THE EMBASSY AT 2:00PM. WE WAIT TILL 3:00PM. FINALLY THE SENIOR CONSULATE A NICE GOOD LOOKING WHITE MAN COMES CALLS US TO THE WINDOW, WE COME AND HE SAYS TO GO TO THE PRIVATE INTERVIEW ROOM. ME AND MY FIANCE GOES TO THE PRIVATE INTERVIEW ROOM. HE COMES INSIDE BUT THERE IS STILL A GLASS WALL SEPERATING US AND WE SPEAK THROUGH MICROPHONES. HE ASKS ME WHY DID I LIE THAT I HAD AN INTERVIEW WITH HIM TODAY WHEN I DIDN'T.....

I START CRYING AND SAY I AM IN GHANA FOR A SHORT TIME ONLY, IF I DIDN'T SEE HIM BEFORE I LEAVE, I WAS AFRAID I WONT BE ABLE TO GET ANSWERS TO THE REASON WHY MY FIANCE WAS DENIED THE VISA. THE SENIOR CONSULATE ASKS MY FIANCE TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT I HAVE DONE ALOT OF TALKING AND WANTS TO HERE FROM MY FIANCE. MY FIANCE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING TO HIM. THE SENIOR CONSULATE THEN ASKS IF MY FIANCE HAS HIS PASSPORT, MY FIANCE SHOWS HIM THE PASSPORT. THE SENIOR CONSULATE DECIDES TO ASK MY FIANCE RANDOM QUESTIONS AND MY FIANCE ANSWERS HIM, THEN HE ASKS ME RANDOM QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW WE MET, AND THE TIMES WE SAW EACH OTHER . THEN THE CONSULATE.....FINISH HIS LINE OF QUESTIONING ASK ME AND MY FIANCE WHEN IS OUR WEDDING DATE AND THEN HE SAY WELL LOOKS LIKE YOU WILL MAKE IT AFTERALL....I AM OVERRIDING THE DENIAL AND YOU ARE NOW APPROVED FOR THE VISA, TAKE YOUR PASSPORT TO WINDOW #2 AND COME BACK ON FRIDAY TO PICK UP YOUR VISA.... I START CRYING AND SCREAMING TEARS OF JOY AND MY FIANCE EVEN HAD TEARS IN HIS EYES AND HELD ME UNTIL I CAN CONTROL MYSELF AND WE EXITED THE PRIVATE ROOM AND WENT TO THE WINDOW AND HE HANDED HIS PASSPORT IN. That is the whole experience in a nutshell, everyone will have a different experience but, just be prepared for your interview and you should be good!!

What a beautiful story!! I have tears in my eyes after reading it! GO FOR HER!!!!! I mean when ther is justifiable evidence or lack thereof to doubt the relationship is real...but to make up ish based on your morals is FOOLISHNESS!!!

I AM SO PROUD OF HER TO FIGHT FOR WHAT SHE WANTS!!!

Good lesson learned!

Plus, a friend of mine JUST told me that she filed for her man in...GHANA!! unsure.gif ohmy.gif She got an RFE...so she asked me to help her. I put her in touch with the VJ Ghana ladies...just for this reason!

I didnt even responded to the woman who by the way was unusually nice. Im begining to think that NO ONE in the US government cares immigration process in Jamaica!

5 slots!! All month! That is crazy!! So who the hell are all those other 200 people in the embassy that week. That is crazy. I dont get why this visa gets no priority whatsoever. Its mad crazy!!

oh my, ladies, TYMoore even after continuing to read up on the filing process it just makes me sick. When i left JA yesterday i was so sad, i didnt eat until today around 1 becuase i felt so sick. Im still really sad and when i hear about the delays with Shrewdie and Lita and people waiting for interview dates, it just stresses me more because i know it will be just that much longer. Fortunately my SO is really good at "conserving" as he calls it, but being off of work for two weeks, has kind of set him back a bit and OMG he looks like a starving child, he lost so much weight while he was out, not eating much until his mouth healed...LOL...poor thing, i just want to bring him home, feed him and love him up so more tongue_ss.gif

Honey,

We ALL know how you are feeling...coming home STINKS...to put it mildly! But try to pick up the pieces and get it together. I am sure your Sweetie would not want to hear that you are not eating!!! You have to take care of yourself also...OK!?!?!

The filing process is the filing process...what I realized is it is so much more overwhelming reading about it than once you jump in and start doing it! About a year ago I came on here and started reading about others filings and thought...oh HELL NO ...there's no way in Hell I can do this...and guess what little by little it was done!
Everyone's filing's are different...so take your time...ask us questions and it WILL work out! luv.gif

Don't make any promises about trips back till you see how it goes.

JG ---

That is so true. I wrote that in my handbook back in January along with the discussions about phone calls, bills, etc....

It took my SO 3 days to figure out the bus system. Now, he's gone shopping again and he's joined the gym. I told him be better no spend off the money he brought from JA with him cause we're going to need it. It's going to be a while before you're working.

VETSSSSSSS

I'm getting advice from friends that have recently filed AOS (about 3 months ago) to wait, because USCIS is backed up. What do you think?

What does waiting do, Tre? Just puts you further back in the line.

It comes and it goes, you know. Very hard to predict.

I AGREE!!! F-IT!!! One way or another... I am filing for Ken's AOS by the end of this month! Hopefully he'll get through by December!! It's the exact same time I waited for the NOA2...what's another 5 months off my life...waiting for the USCIS to get it together!!! It's harder to read the stats on AOS vias VJ than it was for NOA2's...Cause it's all over the dyam place!

OYE VEY USCIS!!!! mad.gif Cyan't wait til mi done wid dem once han for ALL!!!

Lawny,

You are truly off the chain. I'm at work sitting at my desk cracking up..

Yes he is going to Mobay Hope. After he told me what he was told to bring I called myself. I know he's not going to need all those shots. I believe he does have a regular doctor. He's suppose to be checking with his mother to see if she has a copy of his shot record. If she doesn't then he is going to go and get a copy from the doc's office. Heck he still has to pay the VISA fee so I hope he won't have to pay all that for the medical.

Ms Osbourne is VERY nice. I don't remember exactly...but I want to say Ken paid a little more than $150 US and that was getting majority of his shots at MoBay Hope (he lost his med records) , not to mention most of them were outdated anyway!

Good luck and like Lawny said ...PLEASE DO NOT STRESS...I KNOW EASIER SAID THAN DONE!!!! But TRY not to worry...you will be fine!

Gill,

That truly is a blessing. I'm glad he's found his niche. I've been wondering what it will be like once my SO gets here. Will he have trouble finding work, will he have to just settle for anything etc. Hopefully we too will receive a blessing like you and ken. My SO has a lot of ambition as well so I pray he will be able to find something that really suits him. He loves to work and works hard.

Awesome Ty-Ty...he will be fine! But he has to be determined! I was often times embarassed by Ken's determination to fine work. He would ask darn near ANYBODY!! I couldn't do it...too much pride! He would walk up to people and ask if they know of any hard work around here?! blush.gif I would tell him "we don't do that type of thing here!" He would ignore me and say "Look here...questions are meant to be asked han mi a guh hask dem!!"

It paid off! No worries Ty...if he loves to work and you keep you faith...it will happen!

Ok ladies, i have a question... i know my SO cant come the states until we complete the process, but i have heard we can island hop without issue. If we were to go visit Trinidad, or another island would all we need is our passports?

Honey, Welcome back...glad to hear about SO's recovery! Trinidad...I'm not sure about...Bahamas...yes. I kow they had something last year b/c of the Cricket world cup thing...I don't know if it was limited time though. Check each island for visa requirements

Sounds like a good idea. The bad part was when I was looking it was so dyam expensive to island hop from JA. Maybe that's changed

good luck and good to have you back,

Mawning Family,

I have good news to share this morning. Ken was doing some work for my hair dresser over the weekend and this guy she knows came through the shop when Ken was there. He works interior construction and utility maintainance on apartment buildings are NYC and LI. So, he was telling my hair dresser how he has so much work and needs good people BADLY. She immediately introduced him to Ken and now Ken has a new F/T job!!!
G-D IS GOOD ALL THE TIME...ALL THE TIME G-D IS GOOD!!!

Here's the best part.

Ken told him what he used to do at the HI back in JA and the guy saw the work Ken had done on the beauty shop and hired him on the spot!! Ken is now making A NOICE PISSA FOOD NOW!! laughing.gif And that's just to start. The guy told Ken that once he proves himself his $$ will go up fast! That's the Pro...the Con...he's working NON-STOP 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day!

But I am happy for him, because this is what he really wanted to do from the get-go! Honestly, if I had to hear him tell me ONE MORE TIME that he needs to find another job on his days off from the restaurant ...I would have been a widow shortly! laughing.gif He LOVES working and HARD LABOR type stuff. So he is going to use this opportunity to learn and build himself up!

We are truly blessed...G-d has been so good to us...sometimes I feel like Charlotte in 'Sex and the City'movie. Like life is just too good...when's the next shoe gonna drop? I know crappy attitude...but true! Well like Ken says "The sea can't rough everyday...wan day the sea mus calm!" I guess this is the day! Let me just enjoy today and not worry about tomorrow...right?

Bless,
Gill

JG --- thanks for backing me up. I too agree. I cannot tolerate a cheater. That's just hurtful and I cannot be with someone I cannot trust. It just will not work and we'll always have arguements. I have friends who've had their men cheat on them and turns around and cheats on their men...it doesn't make them feel any better and that's why I could never stay in a realtionship once the trust has been violated.

Wakey/Islandwoman;

Marcel and I went to pick out his wedding outfit it's a white linen suit and he looks DELICIOUS in it. Of course he had everyone cracking up in the store cause he was acting a fool by wearing his pants below his waist. I was like, I will knock the hell out of you. I CAN'T BELIEVE in a week I'll be a MARRIED WOMAN. We took out rings to have them blessed (his idea) yesterday and he made me cry with the things he was saying to the pastor. It was so emotional. I would use that pastor to marry us, but he will not marry anyone without going to his 6-month counseling BOOT CAMP and well, as ya'll know we have 90-days. He's a great pastor. When he married my friend last year her husband was being shy about his vows and he made him turn to the crowd, gave him a microphone and had him repeat it loud and clear. He was like, I heard about you at the bachelor party last night...then you going to come up in here and act like you shy. We not having that.

GURRRRRRL...you are not alone with that ish!!! Ken and I are ALWAYS adjusting his belt line! I'm pulling it up and he is pulling it down ("it doesn't feel comfortable all the way up like dat'...ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!) blink.gif no0pb.gif

Gurl, if the pastor can't do it...skip it...You've gone through the Trelawny/Liliput boot camp and truss mi dat wasn't an easy one fi get through! good.gif wink.gif

Please pray for my girlfriend and her husband. Seems that the wait for an interview date in Kingston is taking a toll on their marriage and her A$$ of an husband is not being supportive - called last night to tell her that he was not alone and that he did his best to prevent this, but he's a man...####### is all I can say right now. My head is spinning and I can hear the hurt in her voice. On top of that she's pregnant and don't need the added stress.

What an a$$ mad.gif mad.gif

Not for nothing Lawny...G-d does every darn thing for a reason. I hope she really thinks about what he just did to her last night! THAT is NOT love!!! LOVE is NOT calling your PREGNANT wife to tell her you are f-ing another chick!! I know she probably does not want to see it right now...but if he can do something like that to her when she is carrying HIS child...what will happen when he gets here? Anyway she will re-think bringing him up for a while?

She is in my prayers...b/c either way is a lose/lose situation (except for the blessing she is carrying)...support her Lawns...cause that can't be easy!

Am I being selfish? Do I have a reason to be so angry? Let me explain....I have a room mate, she moved in with the agreement that she babysat my kids while I worked during the day in exchange for her portion of the rent and utilities. Fast forward almost 2 yrs later, our lease is up and we move July 31st. Her son became sick (allergies, eczema) and spent a few days last week in the hospital. When he was released she decided to go stay at her aunts house. Today I get a text telling me taking care of him and watching my 2 kids is too much for her, so she won't be back for awhile. Whats awhile? She has 12 more work days to babysit them before we move #######???? I am pissed, my main reason for being so mad is because not once has she called me to give me a heads up about the situation or her plans. I had to call and text her day after day to find out what was going on. I understand her son comes first of course but she also has a responsibility to me. I'm still expected to pay her portion of all the household bills! She could have picked up a phone! And I'm sorry but is it really that hard to watch my kids also? My kids are not babies and her son is not critical nor in need of constant medical attention, she is playing games. What also makes me mad is she knows my situation with not having anyone else to babysit. Well I'll be finding out tomorrow if I can move into my condo early and she can figure out ####### she's gonna do with the rest of her month. She's enjoying her aunts house maybe she should just stay there.

Hey Chica,

I don't blame you a DYAM!!! Being a working single parent is hard enough and trying to juggle all of it is NOT EASY!! So, when someone goes and throws another HUGE ball into your life it SUCKS!!! I WOULD BE LIVID!!! YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE MAD...AND HELL YEAH HAVE HER PAY HER SHARE!!!

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU ABOUT THE CONDO THOUGH!!!! F-it ...G-d never closes a window without opening a door! Be done with her...it's just a shame she had to go out like that! no0pb.gif

She really played herself!

Last I heard, Shrewdie only had NOA1. That's what I was referring to.

She's not the only one waiting that long. There are some out there who have been waiting longer. VSC is a black hole.

For IR/CR's it does seem so right now! I remember reading a little while ago, that VSC seems to work specific cases in spurts. Like they will work all K1/K3's for a few months and then switch to IR/CR's. I don't know if that's true but at this point I would have to do something serious!

I know she contacted her senators office before. But maybe she should consider a news station or something. If she could gather other VSC -IR/CR's who have been waiting as long or longer than she has...that may make for an interesting story. Especially since she paid the new fee (as of 7/07) for faster more expedious service...YEAH RIGHT! mad.gif

I know a friend of mine did that about her citizenship taking so long to process and our local news did a story about her and her 'American Dream' to vote in her first election. She had her Naturalization papers on her desk a month later!

Hey at this point...anything is worth a shot!

Unruly Gal/Gill,

Its so funny on Wednesday morning he seemed to be doing everything he could possibly think of to prolong taking me to the airport. He fooled around so much that I even had time to make breakfast. Then once we finally leave the house he makes 50,000 stops. The bank, gas station, picking up friends along the road to give rides etc. When finally I had to say, "sweety you know I don't want to leave you and all, but if you make me miss this flight, we are going to have some problems..He then looks at me and says,,,"Okay, okay, okay!... Gill you remind me of him saying hush..He tells me that all the time.

Unruly, I think I've kind of mastered the not crying part now. Although it feels like I'm leaving my best friend or a part of me behind everytime I leave him..Its like a huge lump in stomach, almost makes me sick.

TY; that seems like yesterday. Every time I left Marcel in Jamaica the morning that I'm leaving we would go to beach for an early dip. I always check in early then go to "Dead End Beach" to eat and drink a little...but mostly to talk. We would just sit there and put our foreheads together. He would hold my head in his hands and tell me don't cry think about how exciting it will be to see me again. I was so blessed to be able to have him fly back with me. They gave him a farewell party and I've never seen so many grown men cry. His older male friends who have been married for many years gave us a little notebook with quotes in it that help to keep their relationship in check. I thought it was so sweet. It was different love stories of how they met their wives and how to keep the FIRE BURNING. I read through the entire notebook while waiting for our flight to leave on 4th of July. I'll have to admit, I do find that "our" -- Jamaican men are the best lovers and the little notebook they gave us back it up. At the end of his party they sprayed us with champagne and I was mad.gif because the night was early and I was still trying to look FLY rofl.gif Oh well, then they sprayed us with whipcream...that was it I was ready to cut someone, but it was all in fun.

DIT-TO!!!! Oh, how I miss Dead End! crying.gif crying.gif ...especially since they fixed up the bar now!
We keep telling ourselves..."we are going back soon...we are going back soon!!!" Hopefully for Rebel Salute 2009 biggrin.gif

What do you guys think about Jesse Jackson's comments about Ob's Father's day speech?

I may be bias whistling.gif but...I'm sorry sometimes we as Black people don't want to hear the truth! Bill Cosby said the same dyam thing about Black Dad's stepping up and playing a role in their children's lives as few years ago and was darn near crusified for it!

What are your thoughts?

Need help finding hotels for in the Queens or Bronx area in New York weekend of August 1st any suggestion.

Lawns,

Don't know too many in Qns or the Bx...but if you are willing to travel about 20-30 mins east you can get some good rates in Nassau & Suffolk hotels! If looking at sites use ZIP code 11550 or Airport code ISP. Try hotwire..they honestly haven't failed me yet!

Tymoore -- that is such an understatement... I definitely feel you about how hard it is to leave your SO ! I just left JA on Tuesday and I cried at dinner the night before I left, I cried in the morning when we woke up on Tuesday, I cried on the ride to the airport and I cried when we had to say goodbye at the airport. Everytime I started to cry my SO would start to tear up too-- we must have looked crazy to the people around us, but I couldn't help it. It definitely doesn't get easier to leave.

No chica...it doesn't! I feel it for you...I remember those days...leaving SUCKS!!! mad.gif Hush...he soon reach! Keep the faith and for now keep the memories of him warm in your heart! "This too shall pass!"

I should be a disclaimer that some of the stuff you MAY not be able to get his name on till he has his EAD or AOS anyhow. Most of our stuff is from after his green card came 5 months after I filed for AOS because we were unable to get his name on any bills, bank accounts, etc. till after. But, AS SOON as any sort of joint paperwork or statements come in, start saving them.

I promise you it will make it easier for you when you are where I am now.

Yesterday I was able to add his name to all the utilities (cable, gas, electric) and my bank accounts (they asked for his passport). We also got him a photo ID card for the state. They wanted something with his address on it and I told them he just moved to the country and they asked will he be living with me and I said yes and that was it. I should get his health insurance card next week. Where I work you're able to add a DOMESTIC partner immediately they change it to spouse after we get married. What else am I suppose to be working on?

Mawning Fam,

Thanks for the help yesterday everyone! I passed it along!

I also added Ken to my bank account, cell & house phone accounts, life insurance policies, 403b plan, and utilities! And once homeboy decides to get his driver's license whistling.gif ...he'll be added to auto insurance also!

Good heads-up, thanks JG and sounds like you & Andre are 'Good tuh go!!!' good.gif

Mawning Family,

Question: I am helping a friend of mine put her K1 stuff together for her Honey's interview. Here's the thing. Her SO is Jamaican, but works in Aruba. (Kinnda like Principessa) Because Aruba does not have an Embassy he will be going to Venezula.

He does not have to drop off his DS-230 ahead of time b/c of the expense of taking a flight to Caracas to drop off one piece of paper. They allow them to bring it with them upon the interview. The embassy called him and advised him that his interview is 7/22/08.

Here is my question...He was unaware that JA had issued new BC's. He only has his old one. Do you think the Caracas Embassy will know about the new J'can Birth Certificate? I also don't think he has the letter stating that he is free to marry(tooo early ...can't think of the correct name laughing.gif). He has his divorce papers for JA. Would he need the free to marry on top of the Divorce decree?

Ok, thanks ya'll!

Love & blessings,

Gill

Hey Gill;

Just want to add my piece about Ken's baby mother. As long as KJ is with her, she is going to use him to get stuff from you both. Where does she expect Ken to have all that funds to support her? He just got here. Because she knows his soft spot for his child she is going to feed on that. But keep a level head and not let her stress you guys. It is things like this that the devil uses to cause stress and strife in relationships. Keep your head up. Tell Ken I truly like his style. Big him up for me.

Much Love

I, too, fell in love w/Jamaica way before I met Damien. Actually the trip I met him was suppose to be my last whistling.gif

We decided to go to JA for Independance Day instead of Sumfest. First year missing it in a few years. However, my friends went and had a blast. She's already planning for next year.

My friend from Canada went to Sumfest this year. I'm in the processing of reading her trip report on another thread. She had a blast.

My kids and I both fell in love with Jamaica before we met Andre.

I used to love Reggae Sunsplash back in the day...aka..Sumfest. Ken is on a mission to go back next year. I told him Sweets you going without me...I'll be in JA. but I am too old to sleep pon a "Sumfest bed"...aka a big pissa cardboard laughing.gif watching a whole bunch of no-names ALL night ...waiting for the top acts to come on at 6 in the morning!! laughing.gif no0pb.gif Not to mention..."I can't take too much of the 'Badman' music anymore!!" It's makes me violent! headbonk.gif headbonk.gif laughing.gif

I much prefer Rebel Salute...the vibes are nicer and it is just continuous with good top name acts and there is no bottles..hence...no bokkle flinging when dem don't like a performer or tripping over a whole bunch of debris when you walk! Not to mention the venue is BEAUTIFUL...in the baisin of the St. Elizabeth mountains.

I was very impressed by Rebel Salute and would recommend it to anyone!

Gill

Gil, Movado ave a nice tune about Barack Obama, u heard it?? "WE NEED BARACK"!!!
Bwoy the dancefloor is on fiyah when dat song come on down here!! Lightas are up and everybody trying to find a wall to beat pon..BULLET BULLET!!!

NOOOOOOOOO...I have not!!!! good looking...I'm gonna Google it NOW!!!! My ringtone now is Cocoa Tea's 'Barack Obama'...everywhere I go and people hear it they are like..."That is so nice...where did you get that from?" or "Who sings THAT!!"

It's amazing how the global community feels so invested in Barack winning this election. good.gif

Sooooooo..it looks like everytime I post anything any this forum the "close group of friends" ignore me. I think people either gel or they don't and for what ever reason I'm not in the jello mold.

I joined this site because I thought we all had something in common, loving a man or woman in Jamaica, and my sister Jawi told me everyone was cool people to lean on while I was going through the journey. In the beginning that was the case and now umm not so much.

I will continue to jump on the site for research purposes. I just wanted you to know if you see me lurking.

I thank everyone that has helped me with interview and paperwork details up to this point.

I pray for everyone's success that is going through and awaiting your interviews.

Take care Wakey!

Did anyone watch CNN's "Black in America" series. My unmarried girlfriends were like..."I am going to slit my wrists!" They said 40% of African-American women will not marry in their lifetimes, due to the huge amount of African-American men in prison!

One of them said that I had the right idea by importing my man! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif I never thought about it like that! So, ok we go through HELL with USCIS, but look at what we get! luv.gif

Gil -- loving your avatar!!!!! good.gif Is that from his speech in Germany this week. I couldn't believe how many people were there to see him. This really should tell all the haters that he can handle diplomatic matters far better than what we've been dealing with for the past 8 years. He so has to be our next president!

Thanks Chica...it is from his German speech! I saw that and got goose bumps...they said over 250,000 people came to hear him speak! And of course McCain was hating on it!

It's amazing the effect he has upon people. My Godsister in England is working for the London- Obama 08 Campaign...I'm like you know your not even a U.S. Citizen and can't vote! laughing.gif She knows but wants to spread the word to Americans in UK that this is what the world needs now! good.gif And to get there absentee ballots in as early as possible!
