Thank you for the prayers...GRATEFULLY appreciated! Just trying to get pass this wedding thing! I don't like weddings...no , wrong...I don't like my OWN WEDDINGS! Anyway, Chica...your friend had it dead on...those are pretty much all they ask. YOU WILL BE FINE...I HAVE NO DOUBTS!! Just make dyam sure Marcel has the dates down! I really started to feel bad for the CO's after awhile! It has to be so monotonous...plus all that paperwork they have to fill out is INSANE!!! They almost come in like robots after awhile.

Gave him time to save and prepare his family for his departure. But most importantly it reaffirmed our love for each other! Cause Sis... after you wait for what feels like forever for your love to arrive...they ain't no way in HELL...you will ever let him go again!

If nothing else this process makes or breaks a couple spirit...Baby Girl...don't let it break yours. You are made of stronger stuff than the USCIS has been giving you!

YOU WILL MAKE IT SIS...Just don't lose the two greatest gifts our father has given to us...FAITH AND HOPE!!!

Want to know about the NY sister? She is just adding to our stress by adding two more kids to the JA household mix.

Yes it can trigger an episode!! So please tell him to relax. I swear sometimes you just have to be as mad crazy as the next man. meaning, play their game. Send them your bills, show them pics of your car door, ask them for help. Its ridiculous that these people still have the nerve to keep coming back for more. Cut them off!! Unless somebody is on their death bed they can live the life in which the GOOD LORD ALMIGHTY has given them. Yes some peoples lives are harder than others but God has still blessed them with a life. There are people far more worse off. Send them media clippings on Darfur and ask them if their life is so bad. They were fully functioning before you were so blessed to meet your husband. You are not their messiah, on the Jesus is and they need to look to him to give them a way out of their mess.. He will also keep them from having to be in the mess in the first place. Seriously play their game.

Have you tried calling the Embassy directly. Tel: (876) 702-6000 Ok, brace yourself for the foolishness ...but it might be worth a shot! When you call ask for Citizen Services as there is no direct line for immigrant visas. Look, you may have to put up a stink wid deh dyam renk receptionist...but do what cha got to! You're a citizen and you need service. If you can't get to the CS ask to speak with Barbara LaGrange Johnson (the Ambassador)!! If they still say no then tell them your next call will be to Secretary of State, Condelezza Rice's office! Explain to them that you are VERY concerned that you have not received a date to drop off your DS-230. You have sent umpteen emails to a variety of Embassy addresses and the NVC recommended you call them and ask for assistance. You understand that this is not the appropriate dept. blah blah blah, but anything she can help you with would be appreciated!

That's what I did when I couldn't get an interview date for Ken!

This morning...bright and Early KJ's mom calls! Ok, she has been building a house...so she is moving this Friday! Great, cause the area she lives in now is straight Garrison! We have been sending money down to her religiously for KJ's expenses and to help wid her move. The end of every month we send her $$. She calls today to tell Ken that her house needs windows and can we send down more $$ before Friday! blink.gif

I look at Ken like... huh.gif ...what is she talking about we just sent her her monthly allowance LAST WEEK!!! Look this month is already bugeted and I want to get Ken's AOS out before the end of it! If we send her what she is asking for that will NOT happen!

I told him...we can't do it! I'm sorry! He understood why and seemed ok with it...but I know in his heart he is worried about his son sleeping in a home with no windows! SOOO... now what??? Do I look like a big bad meanie and stick with the plan to file or give this chick her dyam windows!!? I told him we can give her the windows...but I don't want to hear JACK about going back to Yard anytime soon b/c w/o the AOS filed...there will be No GC or AP...zeen!?

Am I wrong? I just feel so dyam conflicted with this thing! At the same time I'm like WHO THE HELL doesn't realize that windows need to be purchased PRIOR to your move! So, you know me...is this Chick trying to run GAME on us??? I just want Ken and KJ to be happy and safe...but I don't want to be manipulated! Which is EXACTLY what I feel like I am being right now!

mad.gif WINDOWS!!! Who needs windows in Jamaica in the middle of July!! I mean if they put windows in they just gonna fling em open anyway cause its so dang hot!! I know lots of folks in JA with out windows. yes they may be saving to get some, but not having any does not cause too many problems. Don't think you're mean cause you need to support your family here in the states too. You are only one person with one income and it needs to get dispersed in the most appropriate way. I dont know your situation but if Ken needs that AOS put in then put it in. Dont let this woman proke guilt trips with her chat bout pickeny nah ave window. Send them money for window screen material as a temp solution until you can afford to send money for the windows. Yes I do believe she is trying to run game on you two and using the baby is the best way for her to do it. The baby has a home, food clothing and love, he can go without a window for another month.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but I'm in a mood today and i hate when I see good people getting done in. blush.gif

I just had the realization this weekend that our NOA2 expires August 15. Doesn't look like we will have our interview by then. Anyone have any ideas what I am supposed to do re: an extension??

If my memory serves me well you only have I believe 4 months to get from NVC to Embassy to visa. However, the Embassy can extend the NOA2 for a next 4 months .

Girl, that's not all. All of a sudden. He have uncles and a whole lot of cousins in Atlanta, Miami, Huston, Arizona, Connecticut and New Jersey. I fear for Andre. I fear they are going to stress him so much that it triggers a sickle cell episode.

Yuh knoa somedays I just want to take Kens phone and smash it to a million pieces! The guilt...you're so dyam right about that! Cause ultimately we are good people and want to help...but when people start taking your sweetness for weakness ish has got to be locked off! And unlike Alexis Carrington, I don't like being mean and stingy with Family...but the want want wants get to you over a while!

I am so sick of the whole dyam thing! What kills me is I never even sent down this type of money to Ken! I tried to explain to Ken the sooner we do the AOS & AP the sooner we can file for KJ and he can go down and get him! But they keep throwing ish in the path of that and all Ken wants is his boy! All Ken keeps saying is I need to work harder, I need to get another job! I mean the man works dyam near 70 hours a week as is!

JG, tell Andre the same thing I tell Ken...You could work 168 hours per week (24 hours x 7days) and it wouldn't be enough for them!! So when my husband worked himself to death and I am left a widow...are they going to take care of me???? wink.gif

Last month, Ken sent his brother a little bit of $$ for his birthday (maybe $50 or so!) Don't you know this MF'er had the NERVE to complain "that's all yuh send!?!?!" NOT ANOTHER BLOODCLAAT DIME FUH YUH!!!! Then last week he asked me to be the God mother of his daughter!? Now, how stupid do I look...you don't know JACK about my parenting skills or about me...if the Baby's mother walked up and slapped me in the face...I wouldn't know her! I mean C'MON!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!

This morning...bright and Early KJ's mom calls! Ok, she has been building a house...so she is moving this Friday! Great, cause the area she lives in now is straight Garrison! We have been sending money down to her religiously for KJ's expenses and to help wid her move. The end of every month we send her $$. She calls today to tell Ken that her house needs windows and can we send down more $$ before Friday! blink.gif

I look at Ken like... huh.gif ...what is she talking about we just sent her her monthly allowance LAST WEEK!!! Look this month is already bugeted and I want to get Ken's AOS out before the end of it! If we send her what she is asking for that will NOT happen!

I told him...we can't do it! I'm sorry! He understood why and seemed ok with it...but I know in his heart he is worried about his son sleeping in a home with no windows! SOOO... now what??? Do I look like a big bad meanie and stick with the plan to file or give this chick her dyam windows!!? I told him we can give her the windows...but I don't want to hear JACK about going back to Yard anytime soon b/c w/o the AOS filed...there will be No GC or AP...zeen!?

Am I wrong? I just feel so dyam conflicted with this thing! At the same time I'm like WHO THE HELL doesn't realize that windows need to be purchased PRIOR to your move! So, you know me...is this Chick trying to run GAME on us??? I just want Ken and KJ to be happy and safe...but I don't want to be manipulated! Which is EXACTLY what I feel like I am being right now!

My thoughts ...give an inch, they take a mile. Perhaps she can prolong moving until SHE works to get the funds for windows?? I'm not one for making rash decisions so I would suggest sitting on it for awhile. Whatever was meant to be will work out.

Of course, there is also the option of sending enough for a window for KJ's room.... devil.gif

I actually had mine transcribed by a civil surgeon and STILL got an RFE for the ENTIRE medical, despite filing before my medical was out of date.



I, on the other hand, sent in only copies of Andre's vaccination record he's had since he was a kid. Went through without a single problem. I personally would not pay a civil surgeon to do a darn thing until I got a RFE.



I sent in my husbands vaccinations records as well with the AOS package thinking I might get an RFE...but everything went thru without a hitch...other than we had to wait what seemed like forever to get the approval...but no RFE.

Sounds good...I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending up prayers that we pan out the same way! good.gif

Hey all....question about the AOS. Someone just PM'd me and asked this and it got me to thinking. The question was..."How long after we get married, do we have to officially File the AOS?"

I'm thinking they give us a certain amount of time to send the AOS packet in once you're married but does anyone actually know how long we have?????? wacko.gif

Secondly, they asked whether or not their fiance would be able to "keep" his job while waiting for the permanent EAD.....once the 90 day work permit expires? I told her it probably would be up to the employer but that more than likely, her fiance would NOT be allowed to continue working and would have to wait to get the EAD in the mail. I've heard of some people getting "RE-Hired" once they have the EAD but how likely is that????

Anybody have thoughts on these topics? If so.....PM me with what u know or write back smile.gif

This is a topic often spoken about on here. You have to marry in 90 days. After that, there really is no official word on how long you have. Technically, once you marry, you are out of status because you are no longer the fiance who came on the K-1. Also, the longer you take eventually effects the AP & EAD. I have heard of a few people who have waited over a year and one who waited 2 years and AOS without problems.

As far as the 90 day work permit.....yes, it is up to the employer. Most I have heard do not allow you to work unless you are legal for obvious reasons.


True...Ken's employer let him continue working. They agreed to take out his taxes as if he was still in status...as long as we file before August 31, 2008. I am hoping to file before the end of this month. Few more things to pick-up ( my friend is picking up is Medical/Vaccination Records at MoBay Hope today).

it's over Labor Day weekend every year - There is a ton of stuff that goes on every day / night, and it ends with the Parade on Monday - which I don't know if I would do again, lots of problems the past few years at the Parade.

But Irie Jamboree is a reggae show that Sunday http://www.iriejamboree.com/

I'm taking Ken and the boys this year...1st time for all 3! I kept putting off taking the boys cause it can be so dyam dangerous...not for any crime...but just the AMOUNT OF PEOPLE!!! One year a few people got crushed to death and no body knew til after Eastern Parkway had cleared out in the evening!

I was just thinking of some ideas. I actually talked to a woman at USVITourism and she said as long as he has his JA passport and I'm a citizen it can be done. She's sending me more information. She actually said a couple did it over a month ago except her fiance was from Barbados and after they got married took a ferry to St. John to honeymoon.

I have sent two emails and I've gotten no response. Please prayer that whatever the problem may be that it gets resolved quickly and that the interview gets assigned. This is making me nervous. Thank you ladies!


Mrs H - did you call the 202 #? Gill swears by them!! The embassy seems to be ignoring e-mails right now. I know there are a few of us who have sent some and received no replies.

I bet if you call today or tomorrow...they will have an interview date for you...maybe you already have one...but I haven't read deep enough into the thread!

Sunny...so sorry we couldn't link...we probably passed each other on the NJ Turnpike laughing.gif...Well ya'll I dropped the boys off with my Sister in DC on Saturday and she flew them down to Fl to spend time with my Dad! I AM KID FREE FOR TWO WEEKS!!!!! ...the first time in almost TEN Years!! I dropped off Ken at work yesterday morning and HATED being at home...too dyam quiet! unsure.gif

But I ain't gonna lie...running out to get a pedicure and hit up Panera with my Girlfriend in the evening was FUN!!! Not a care in the world...not Chick , nor child fi worry bout! biggrin.gif
