Although I agree that CSC shouldn't become a "complaints department" (and that they'd never get anything done), I don't think it is at all right that there is NO way to contact them. Having no working email, having an address you can mail to but they won't read, and an 800# that is known for giving out wrong or misguided info, well it just ticks me off.

I'm on a role with these csc graphics, it is very therapeutic for me today.

well to chime in, I have to say in my case I was very happy to see a touch 3 days in a row as I felt like our case was going to go into a dark hole.

It might not mean anything, but to see that they did something, anything at all, made me feel a little bit less anxious.

From personal experience, moving while your case is in process is a BIG NIGHTMARE
I have mailed, called and mailed again my change of address and they are STILL sending things to my old address, even though I did the change of address officially (even have a ref# from USCIS from one of the attempts). IMO, moving during case processing can almost guarantee something will get F*d up.

At this point if he needs a waiver (if he thinks he may possibly need one) he brings it to the interview incas they turn him down, and he hands it in right away

(if you get to this place in the game, stop, dont pass go, wait your turn for 10 months???)

if it gets approved he gets his visa


Not sure why you need waiver, but make sure you don't just go to interview with the form, you need to have strong, solid, back up to prove the hardship to the USC. Maybe you already know this, but thought I'd post it anyway.

I googled for days trying to find out how I can get a state wide police clearance for my husband because he was in california for 8 months. I got the form in the mail from the DOJ and it stated they would provide that for immigration purposes (since the LAPD will not). But then I read the darn thing and it requires his fingerprints and you have to make the appt in the states to do it.
Kinda difficult since he can't come to the states, isn't it?

I am starting to get a bad feeling, like we're flagged for review or something. I have an idea why it would be so - I hope I am wrong, but people are flying by and now they're even transferring peeps to CSC. I check the dang site every day!!

Another post on my husband's missing greencard & non-existent social security card.

What are the next steps? We got *one* letter since his US entry saying they goofed at border and we should mail in a copy of his stamped passport (did that immediately). I've filed the "missing greencard" form (you have to wait a certain amount of days before doing that). We're pushing 3 months and not a peep, or response. Should I call misinformation-800#?

Social security is still F*d up and they refuse to help him. Is there somewhere I need to mail a nasty gram?
We're feeling tired and fed up. I found a complaint form online (but only if you think you've been wronged in a SSA hearing... or something or other).

:( I'm just tired. I think after all we've gone thru with all the steps to be legal, he's here (I am happy), but he can't get drivers license, get "official" at his job, etc.




Throwing it out to you fine folks. Got any ideas? Who do we need to B*tch to? Or is this just SOL situation, sit and wait like usual... ? :help:

DCF is "on hold" at most of the consulates for the time being... see the DCF forum for the entire debacle! You're lucky that you got through DCF before last month. :)

CanadaMassive Road Trip Super Happy Happy Fun
We did this trip, er, um, twice!! 2500+ miles - first Los Angeles to London, ON, and then back 6 months later.

We actually enjoyed ourselves. I mapped out the journey using Microsoft Trips & Streets. We were bringing a cat so I wanted to make sure for certain I had pet friendly hotels lined up. We started with longer days and trickled down to shorter. Highly suggested since you start out pretty gung-ho and as each day progresses, you get a little weary. Example, day 1 585 miles, day 2 550, day 3 540 - our last day coming home was only 340 and it seemed like a cakewalk.

We paid for all our hotels upfront and I used hotels.com, and tripadvisor.com, this way we knew our budget exactly. We also bought an insulated travel pack and filled it with waters and snacks (oh and one day, hubby had it filled with beer, and yes I drove).

On the trip back we did most of Route 66 and had halfway points pre-picked of places to eat. It made the day go quick knowing at about 250 miles we would be stopping somewhere fun. (Like a famous burger place on the road). We found these places on http://www.theamericanroadside.com/ and http://www.roadsidefans.com/ and also I found tons of advice, etc. on http://www.roadtripamerica.com/

we used an MP3 player for driving tunes. Lots of photo ops and weird sitings.

When QuickTax asked if we wanted to do both of our returns at the same time, I said yes. When I put in "0" income for me (canadian) it didn't like it at first. Should I restart and just do my husband's return by himself? (since I made -0- I assume I don't have to file?)

OR Do I have to file as "Newcomer"? Even though I was PR only 60 days? Does it matter I made zip in Canada?

If I'm reading that page right, a newcomer would have to claim "World Income" which changes our tax refund considerably.

I assume even though only there 60 days, I would have to say I have a Social # (I read in another post, write "US Citizen" there and you don't report USC's income). ?? I am all confused!! :huh:

Me putting my US income (as "world income") for those 6 months drops my hubby's refund by $1,000 :crying:

You can leave the minute you have the passport back into your hands with the Visa, but Montreal is now mailing them (I think, cuz I'm out of the loop). When we got approved in November they mailed it Canada Post (we paid extra for next day). Got the visa approved on Wednesday, got it in the mail Friday, we left Saturday.

It sounds to me like you need to find another sponsor.... The only way my brother and I could agree for him to sponsor my husband was a promise that as soon and early as legally possible hubby would apply for the citizenship. My husband had some mixed feelings about the citizenship thing too, until I explained that applying didn't mean he would be a Canadian, and that he'd have the best of both worlds. I seriously doubt my brother would have embraced sponsoring my husband for 10 years, not that he doubts our intentions, but that is a lot to ask of someone, when it could be 3 years instead.........

So I did the "unthinkable" last week, I finally couldn't take it anymore and I quit my (new, 3 months) job. It was making me miserable in so, so many ways. A friend convinced me to do it, he went from "leave next week" to "if you're going to leave next week you should just do it now". He was tired of hearing how miserable I was there. Great life coaching! I was on the phone in my office and he somehow managed to get me to clean my desk and leave for lunch, never to come back. I submitted a formal resignation letter (via fedex) and buh-bye!!

It's unthinkable because a) I have never quit without something lined up and B) I did this without any financial cushion. Shoot howdy! All the money we spent moving to/from canada, well I was in no place to do this.

but then.... ahhhhhhhhhh! A wonderful door opened somehow I magically got an interview the next day after quitting and got an offer today!! Which I happily accepted!! :dance:

yes he is in Canada already, they were already scheduled at Montreal for his interview to go stateside... she is re-thinking and trying to decide if she should immigrate this way.

I am so sorry for what you're going thru.

I did both (us & can), and I don't see that canada's apps are any more difficult than the US ones
and I also spent equally as much on US, only Canada you pay the money up front

I think you're just overwhelmed... obviously. I wish you the best in whatever decision you make.

I was just wondering if I applied for one of these for the Port Huron/Sarnia back-n-forths if I'd get denied cuz of immigration pending....... ?

Would be kinda neato not to have to explain myself every time I drove in to canada.



I have one and it's worth every penny....

And you may have trouble with Canadian Immigration at your NEXUS interview in that respect. You won't know until you talk with them, but I would do it.. if it goes bad, you'll only be out $50.


Hey Zyg, should I apply for it now from California? (I will be visiting Canada again May 4), should I mail it now and see if I can get it processed by the time I go up to see hubby ? How does that work.....

I am going to move to Michigan Sept 1. Will be living hopefully around port huron or marysville, and getting to see my husband on weekends. Should I just wait until I have a michigan address?

Since the "frame certificate" mentions having everything including the parents names, I would think that would be the same as a long form. BUT if you look at the "dimensions" of the Certified copy in that description, they are technically "longer" - ie long form

Maybe somebody else knows more about Saskatchewan certs.

AHA!! If you click the PDF link for the actual application, they have a checkbox that says

"certified photocopy of registration $50 Long Form"
