K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 or/and K3

so what sense makes the K3 visa?

Everybody's case is different, but for example, I have to file thru California and they are waaaaaay backlogged for CR-1. By doing K3 I get to also file in Chicago and they are not so far behind. For me it may make a difference of getting to live with my husband sooner. (by possibly 4-5 months based on how far behind Cali is)

If I was filing in Vermont (fast) it might not make that much of a difference as the CR-1 could get to the embassy faster. I was willing to pay for the extra petition so that I could *possibly* get to be with my husband sooner.

Read the guides k3 vs. cr-1 comparison chart.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRequest for transcript of tax return AOS?

Hey out there,

Does my spouse has to request for a transcription of tax return? I heard something about that he will need it for the AOS? And if he already request this transcription it may fasten the process cos it saves time later on. Am I mistaken?

Thanks a lot
Isabel

you might post this on the AOS board to get replies from people currently doing that.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Interview experiences

Can anyone tell me their K-3 experiences at the Consulate. What kind of questions were asked and what evidence did they look at. My spouse has her interview next week and would like to get some experiences of their K-3 interviews.
Thanks so much.

1st, what consulate? Different consulates will have different experiences.

There are reviews on the site from people who have already interviewed and you might get a better response if you posted this in the Consulate and Embassy board -

hi.

You can click "immigration timelines" at top
scroll down to Visa Display Options:
View K3 Visas [ Advanced View ]

click the FILTER functions to show only your country
check out the timeframes, from NOA1 receipt to Interview date for your country.
you'll get an average of the amount of time it is taking.
hope this helps

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresExtremely worried about visiting USA

Hello everyone, I recently got married to a USC and very much in love. =) I am here in Malaysia and had just recently gotten a tourist Visa (single entry) and I had bought a ticket to see him within this month. I have no intention of staying in the USA and I am just so worried that I won't have enough proof to show this intention. My family lives here and my husband is still in school (finishing up his Masters).Other than the return ticket, I am not sure what else I can show proof that my intention is just to visit him and his family (i had never met his family). I have stayed in the US before for 6 years. (My dad works for foreign affairs). I am just no nervous about the Port of Entry and if they would not let me see my husband. What would be the reason for the POE to deny entry to begin with?.. well I hope I get some answers to let me ease my mind. Thank you. (We haven't filed for the K3 Visa yet and this trip is really just to meet the inlaws)

Do you have a job? go to school? have a leased apartment? anything that you are *committed* to? Having proof of these might help. You might walk right thru with no worries, you might get someone having a bad day, it is really a ####### shoot. For example, when I went to visit my (then) fiance in November, I was grilled for several minutes with all sorts of random questions (and the guy had a mean look on his face! he asked me details about every place I was staying, people's names etc); when I went back for our wedding, I was petrified, the lady said "reason for visit" I said "i'm getting married" she said "OH have a nice time".

Your question about their reason for denying would be "immigrant intent". They will assume if you don't have ties to your country (as I listed in the first sentence) that you're going to try and stay.
