Well while you are looking into your crystal ball, can you tell me your theory on what happens to those at CSC who've been waiting 4-5 months, and the VSC transfers show up? As an example, we have had our app in since Oct., many people passing us up on the CSC list. Now I'm starting to see VSC transfers who got to CSC in February getting approved. Then told me that my case may take 18-24mo (despite anyone on this forum knowing that some waivers are getting approved within 2mo at CSC)... I did get my PP stamped for 1yr, but don't know why the IO felt the need to ask all the questions that she did... Wow, that's pretty crummy to ask about counseling. Not sure exactly what business it would be at this point in time. Sometimes after people have an infopass appt it stirs up the pot and they get some action - hopefully that is your case. If we don't hear anything in a few weeks I'm going to infopass and I'm thinking of printing our CSC case status list so I can show actual dates that others are flying by and getting approved. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	RFE	I threw in a whole chapter of junk mail, as well as envelopes from relatives written to Mr. & Mrs. Also included copies of credit cards that had both our names on account. Took the pictures and made them 6 to a sheet with descriptions (sometimes funny, I figured IO could get a laugh). I also included a letter we both signed saying that we are madly in love. Everyone on the CSC list is passing us up, I'm not too worried, but if suddenly they're handling 10K more files I hope we are not lost in the shuffle. We filed in the middle of Oct and finally got an email yest, Feb 26 that our card was ordered. Normally that would not be a long wait, esp compared to the VSC ppl, but there were people getting their GCs so quickly at the CSC that I thought something might be wrong with ours. Well we finally got ours. Could someone please add our name to the rvced date? Canada	Canada Day Party	I am so excited to read this thread - I just found out my landlord is letting me end my lease and I'll be making my move to live closer to the hubby the last week in June, if we drive real fast (from california) I can be in Canada for Canada day!!! Canada	Moving to canada	YES! Listen to Zyggy; I am applying Outside Canada, and all the folks I chat with who applied Inside Canada are sad and regretting it. They end up in a holding bin for months and months and they take much longer. PLUS you can't "appeal" if you are denied, and you can't leave to travel until it's over. Hi zyg! Canada	WWOOOO HOOO!!!	Yeah! got a call from him 3:22 a.m. US time, he was on the "other side" He said they really grilled him (he had a past refusal last september) and he kept providing them pieces of evidence I had pulled together... the ONE thing that got him across was the letter I wrote to Laguna Niguel withdrawing our US Visa petition. Because I had included the certified card, signed by them, the border officer let him go and said "You need then anytime you travel to the US" So this tells me that withdrawing the app DID NOT withdraw the records, and this officer knew that he had the petition but did not know it had been withdrawn. I wonder if it'll stay like that forever? ANYWAY!!! I get to pick him up in 1 hr, he's meeting my family, and friends (big par-tay goin on today!) I haven't seen him in 2 months. I have read they are very quick on the U.S./Canada apps, and ours was transferred to Los Angeles to expedite it. I have been seeing many going thru in 3 months, even a few in 2 months! I am already here in canada as a visitor, I packed up and put all my stuff in storage. My latest quandry now is whether I have to get my passport changed to my married name before I send it in to get the visa stamp. I really really want to just send it and deal later, trying to find out if that will cause any problems. I just really want to get the landing done so I can get my things back!! Canada	You're not going to believe this one	Curiouser and curiouser. You applied for I-130 in January, then wrote to CSC in April asking to cancel. But something screwy happened and they approved it anyway? Do you think the petition was forwarded to NVC before they got to your letter (if they ever acted on it at all)? my guess, (and ONLY a guess), is that Service Centers might not allow a cancel of something via a letter. When I was trying to figure out how to cancel this stuff, nobody here at VJ had a clear cut plan, they just said, send a letter and keep copies, certified mail. So I did. Now I'm thinking that in order to cancel an I130, you have to just not respond or pay the fees at NVC (as it states that on a form, failure to pay will cancel the process) ? maybe? You also wrote to Montreal to cancel I-129f. Did you have an interview? Otherwise, why write to Montreal? The I-129f goes from Chicago to Missouri to NVC to Montreal. The fly in the ointment would be if they suddenly find your cancellation letter and stop the process without telling you. Not sure how to avoid this. Perhaps paying the bill will be enough. Well I am glad you wrote this, I pulled up the withdrawal letters I sent. To CSC, I sent a withdrawal of this app #, and it's already out of their hands, they're the ones who approved and forwarded and we already have a case # To Montreal, it looks like I cancelled the MTL for the I-129 (diff # on letter) To NVC I referenced the I-129 as well. So due to my letter writing I'd say that I cancelled the I-129 everywhere but tried to do the I-130 at CSC (since it was still there) and they ignored the letter. I was under the impression the USC needs a US address when petitioning, and then submitting the affidvait of support. How can this happen if you're living in Ontario? Do you have relatives who'd let you use their address? Or would there be any merit in moving back to the States and getting a job? Detroit is close to London... When I called NVC yesterday I said I was visiting my husband with my mail forwarding, and that is why I didn't get the letter (us mail won't forward something that *official*, gov't or credit cards either). He said OH ok, let's just change your address to the canada address. I know you can also apply from Canada if you have PR, which I'll have in a few weeks. We're also appointing an agent in California to accept the mail. Don't worry about winter clothes. Whatever you had in California will be a joke. If you're in Ontario this winter, buy stuff there. HA I actually do have winter clothes, as I visited my husband for a year in Ottawa tee hee... So now I just gotta find out if an "Agent" can be a family member? Canada	You're not going to believe this one	So I posted this at CR-1 to get answers, but got a few on the phone. WEIRD I wrote a certified letter back in March to cancel my husband's I-130. Now I totally get why he got so much grief when he came down to help me move my stuff to canada (or the outskirts), it's because they never cancelled it. So they approved our I-130 and mailed me the NOA in Calif. Which has a mail forward (and postal wouldn't forward since it was gov't) and they resent it to London, On. So we're still in the process! Freaky because I just posted how we wanted to find out about DCF'ing or how to get back to US next year. NVC changed my mailing address, but we are already assigned a MTL # The NVC is re-sending the Fee Bill to me here. There is so much to think about my head is spinning. My stuff is in storage in the US. I don't want to pay to have it brought here if we are ____ months away from being able to go back. What do I do next? Do I need to contact Montreal? Thanks to all of your GUIDANCE I successfully got a US Drawn MO and also got it in the Express by 3:40 pm in Michigan... no thanks to the mean mean US mail lady who only wanted to say NO NO NO you can't do that!! The US border toll booth was down, so I got to the border in 1 hr flat, but sat there for 1:25 mins. Once in Michigan I raced to find this mystery post office, not knowing it was inside a GIANT mall. Shoulda seen me running thru this mall, as it was 3:35 and I was told it had to be stamped by 3:40 to get there monday. HA HA! I got into the PO at 3:39, no kidding, and the postal lady DID NOT like that I was out of breath, I told her I drove 2:40 mins to mail this beloved envelope, and she didn't want to accept my package!! I assured her she could accept something pre-stamped, and she ASSURED me it wouldn't get there monday... which was quite pleasing when she had to eat her words after she scanned it, and quietly say, "it will be there monday at 3 pm" neener neener. If you do this on a Saturday, call ahead to make sure they're open. Longshot: A BMO money order in U.S. funds may, in fact, be drawn on a U.S. affiliate bank. It will say so on the mo. In fact, any big bank may operate this way. You don't need an account to buy a mo. Make some calls. OMG could you imagine if I drove over to get the M.O. in Deeetroit and didn't get back I have my letter from the embassy saying I'm "in" but I don't have my stamp in passport yet that is a good idea though, because I could mail it priority from US and they'd get it fast and cheaper, hmmm, you've got something here. BMO is closed Saturdays so I'm outta luck there, I have another snaffu that my ATM card was lost and my US bank has tried for 6 weeks to get me a new one, they are being moronic about mailing it to a canada postal code. ARGH. Are there US banks, sister banks, somewhere here, I feel like such an idiot. Is it possible to think that the "bad guys" know now that people who are going inside can't bring in electronics, and it's a great place for them to look for stuff in cars?
