IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy Petition Facts
I feel the same way about our application. We haven't had any sign of anything happening with it since it went onto the online system.

My husband (USC) can't get any answers out of VSC other than the usual - you are inside our processing dates.

I really don't know what to do now - feel completely despairing of the whole system. I hate not being able to make a plan for the rest of the year. My family and friends keep asking me when I will be moving. Noone can believe it takes this long to be with your husband.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCase transferred from Vermont to California!
I know it's probably too soon as we only heard about the transfer yesterday but has anyone managed to call either VSC or CSC and find out when our files will reach the new center and how long they think it will be before they are worked on?

I wonder what it will do to their processing time this month. Or do you think they aim to get all our files done before the 15th then they don't have to put their processing times back?

I bet it improves VSC processing time date for I-130 as they have just shipped out all the old cases!

So it seems to be just Sept/Oct/Nov CR1 filers so far

Ilya - that probably means you are now first in line at VSC - I bet you'll be approved before we are smile.gif

I was touched too today - it's amazing after the same date for MONTHS having two new ones in two days.

However....not getting too excited yet about the touches as they seem to often come in twos (looking at other people's timelines) so today's touch could be connected to yesterday's.

On the other hand......it might mean they are working on it today...yay!

Damn was trying not to get too excited.

Whats this "excitement" feeling you speak of?

Ilya - are you still at VSC? Or have you been moved too?

So I can't concentrate on ANYTHING now - I wonder how long it will take to get to California??? When do you think they will start working on it???

Now I feel really impatient - I've been trying to be so calm and relaxed about the delays and now I just want to know!!

Susie - I really really hope it means we will be approved soon. At least I know we are not sitting on a shelf in Vermont still. I just hope we don't end up sitting on a shelf in California now!!

I guess I should change my service centre here on VJ to California? What does that do to the timelines though? It's not as though it's been at California all this time so it doesn't really give a true processing time for people now at California or Vermont!
TrellickFemaleUnited Kingdom2008-08-06 09:03:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCase transferred from Vermont to California!
It doesn't say why they transferred it or what exactly is happening now. I was one of those whose file had not been 'touched' since the 24th Feb. So why they had to wait so long to work out they were too busy to deal with all the backlog I have NO idea.

I can only hope this means it will be resolved quickly and not mean more delays.

My poor little file has been all OVER the US. We were caught up in the receipting delays so we sent to Vermont and then after waiting ages it was sent to Chicago for data processing - then sent back to Vermont and now it's gone to California!

I can't believe it.

Just got an email from USCIS saying our case has been transferred to California for processing!!!!

Which means we are outside their processing times for both our received date and our NOA1

Let's hope this means it will be processed quickly now!!!!!!!

I can't believe it has sat in Vermont for all these months and now is going to California!!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe Main difference is???
Reading the guides really can help....before you get caught up in everyone else's posts and all the jargon.

This is quite a good comparison on the different visas.

http://www.visajourn...mp;page=compare

If you are not yet married you could consider the K1 visa - might get you together more quickly. I would have done that if I had known how long the CR1 could take.

Noone can really tell you how long the process will be - you can look at the timelines on here and try to work out how long your particular service centre and consulate will take but then things can change and it can be a lot longer or shorter than you expect.

Based on the timelines before I got married I expected the whole proces to take something between 8-10 months for me. But I got caught up in the VSC backlog and it's been ten months so far and we are still on the first stage. It will probably now take over a year to 15 months (from the start of the process) before I can move to the US.

Also it will be so awful if we get an RFE. Of course if we've made a mistake on the form then it's our own fault but they have waited 10 months to look at the file which makes any more delays heartbreaking.

My case has reached CSC - exactly 10 months since we first posted it to VSC!

So VSC had it for 10 months - how long will CSC have it?
TrellickFemaleUnited Kingdom2008-08-09 10:01:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInflux of VSC to CSC
Everyone cares the most about their own petition and noone wants a delay. I'm sure people at CSC are worried that taking files from VSC might delay their case and that may happen. Who knows at this point. Perhaps it will delay by a few months or more, or not at all.

I would prefer that we could all be united with our spouses without all this waiting but I have been waiting nearly 10 months now for this NOA2 and it's been horrible seeing people who filed several months afterwards getting approved while you're getting ignored.

I really think the cases from 2007 should be looked at before cases from 2008. I'm sorry if that happens and affects other VJ people.

Although at the moment we have no idea if this transfer is going to make things quicker for us (2007ers) or whether we will all just end up in another waiting pile at CSC.

Also is it just the 2007 CR1s being transferred? Anyone seen the older K3 cases go anywhere?

The immigration office was very friendly. good.gif

She said that the cases were transferred to ease the backlog, that we already knew.

She said that the cases sent by Vermont Service Center will be processed immediately. As soon as they are uploaded into the system, they will be immediately taken to the floor for adjudication. Having said that, our cases are in transport but have not been recieved by CSC as yet. After they have been recieved it will take about 2 weeks to get uploaded. The people that recieve the cases are contractors and they have two shifts, so they will be working on uploading these cases. She said that i can however call back in about a month to talk to someone and see how the process is going. I asked her how long should it be before i get a decision. She said that it could take about a month and a half to two months to get either a decision or an RFE.

All in all, she said that our cases will be top priority once it has been received.

Good luck to all of us. Let's keep praying. good.gif

Thanks for calling and for the info Mrs Rowe. I got an email today saying our case has reached CSC and is now pending standard processing there.

Let's hope they do start working on them immediately!
