That's cool- I think you are the first one to mention that you got one (a touch) in this Nov. Cali filers thread! How did you know you received a touch- did you get an email or just look at the USCIS site?

We've also had someone get an approval
(Rach and Houcine) from November Cali filers- that is super fast.....

Keep the faith,

Joe

Just be happy with the now. Enjoy the time you have in your own country, it could be a while before you return again.

It is hard to wait and be patient, however in the the long run you guys will have the rest of your lives together.

You still have some waiting. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but get hobbies. I did and it sure helps.

Chin up.

My Fiance has income from 4 different places. We are adding them all up, putting them on the one form. As well as sending the tax return with packet 3, we are also including the W-2's to back it all up. Also....they have been asking for 3 years tax returns at interview.

Not everyone calls their partners on the telephone. Not only is it expensive, but some times during a working day the time differences make it hard to chat for a long time. I call mainly at the weekends. Like me, many have pay-and-go mobiles. I have no bill. Am I worried? Not really.

Off size pictures are generally ok when submitting the petition but she'll need to follow the standards given in her P3 for the pictures she takes to the interview.

That's what I understand too. We had them ready incase of an RFE.

If you Fiance leaves the USA before you get married you WILL have to start again...thats if they give you the chance again.

Also, one your married and she wants to leave the USA she will have to get Advanced Parole in order to get back into the USA.

Hey. Our case just got to NVC 6 weeks after our NOA2. We'd almost given up hope but then it showed up! I reckon yours will show up at NVC pretty soon too. Frustrating not knowing what's going on though huh? Especially when everyone else's seem to go through NVC in a few days... Doesnt seem to be any reason why a few of us get stuck in the system!
Hope it shows up soon.

Thank you!

I'm not alone here. Ours is 6 weeks tomorrow. Did you call NVC everday like we do?

We called NVC a couple of times... The trouble was not with NVC though because they hadn't received it. We tried to speak with people at the USCIS directors office a few times and also emailed Luke's congressman. Then it just turned up... Back in the system. Typical. 6 weeks sucks though.... We found out it had turned up the next time Luke rang NVC and it had finally arrived. Try calling the directors office or your congressman. Good luck!

Thanks for that. We have called them (uscis) many times, the directors office and been in touch with the congressman.

We now know following the last conversation an hour ago, that our case was approved again due to extra security checks. It had to go to a supervisor for approval and should not have been approved the first time round - apparently. We have been told that there is a delay right now and a back-log for some reason they couldn't say as to why. We do our case is in the dispatch area in a skid!

Oh boy! I don't want to scare you or anything but this happenend to us on a military expedite request for my K1 visa. We got our NOA2 on 11/20/07 and another one on 11/28/07 and after that the papers did not reach NVC for 2 months. One officer at CSC finally took it upon himself to find out what happened and we found out that the file had coolly been forgotten and would have still been there if he did not personally put a note on it and forward it to the NVC. I suggest that you start calling the service centre right now. All the best!

Gee whizz! I'm not scared though, it's alright. wacko.gif

Thank you for your input. I see you are reunited now, great!

Did your NOA2's have the same date?

We have just received the SECOND in the post! 6 weeks after the first one!

Over the course of the last year this has been very common for CSC filers. It used to be that CSC held up skids of approved petitions to be sent overseas in bulk but now it appears they are just screwing up certain cases. I don't know what their excuse has been for others but I do know of a couple recently who were told it was CSC error and that their approved petition was in the wrong place.

If you do a search here you are sure to find these posts.

As a side note and probably not relating to the OP...there are security checks at every level/stage of this process. We were held up at NVC for three weeks (no clue why). So it's common enough to get held up once your petition reaches the next stage BUT when nobody seems to know where your petition is, as seems the case in these circumstances, it's a whole different concern! wink.gif

OP.. i'd keep calling until you can perhaps talk to someone that actually might know what they're talking about.

If they can hurry my skid over to NVC I would be most greatful!

I have been reading and reading posts. Still don't find one thats quite like ours.

We have called DOS many times. NVC everyday, sometimes twice. We have been told that our case is under review. I wonder why they approve it then review it at USCIS.

Thanks Kim.

If you're anything like your mate Shaz, then I'm sure you are pretty unique, MM! laughing.gif

With regard to your problem, I know of two posters from here that went through similar "NVC hell." For some reason, certain files take longer than others to reach the relevant embassies. I reckon it's because either:

A - You're in security checks

or most likely

B - Your file's gotten lost somewhere (it happens ya know).

If I remember correctly in the other cases, the USC got their elected representitives involved and that seemed to do the trick. Maybe you might want to look at going down that road?

I'm very unique, but Sharon is one of a kind! We love her as she is. jest.gif

I agree with you, we are in checks. Well "they" say review. Our case isn't lost I don'k think as 'they" have been touching it alot the past few days.

We have contacted the congressman before and they couldn't help, maybe now they can. Well, not tomorrow!

My friend is also engaged to a man we met while being Peace corps volunteers in lesotho. she has seen all the work i've done for getting the fiance visa stuff rolling and she doesn't dig the price or the effort. her plan is to have her fiance come to the states on a visitors visa, marry him and then apply for a change of status. Does this work? Or will they get turned down when they try to get legally married? And when he changes his status, does that mean she will still have to pay the $930 fee for the status change/green card application? Anyone know how this works?

Fraud.

Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAny way at all of extending/postponing a K1's life?
QUOTE (Damian P @ Nov 13 2008, 03:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
OK, so I've been approved, have the visa in hand, and am booked on a flight leaving on 31st March next year. Whilst that's great, I'm deeply concerned about my job prospects (or lack thereof) over there due to the current financial crisis. On top of that, my missus works in the manufacturing industry for a light metals company that makes valve covers for engines, and obviously declining car sales are putting her job at risk (if GM goes to the wall, then she's finished there).

It seems to me that BOTH of us being unemployed is simply unworkable, indeed I would then probably HAVE to stay here in my recession proof job, in order to support her and the kids. So is there any way that a K1 can be extended? Any way at all?

OH mate, sorry to hear this.

I'm going to look into it too, however, I think you might be unlucky and have to go if you want to use the K1. It's only good for 6 months...sure you know this.
