We sent in a few paragraphs
How we met on myspace ha ha , all the dates of our visits to see eachother, when we got engaged and thats about it
Think they are more interested in the facts than all the hearts and flowers that go with it, although I bet sometimes they do enjoy some of the stories ha ha

Is there anyone else who takes offense to this? It's hard as hell to get someone here legally & illegals get a free pass? no0pb.gif

I can't really say this kind of situation offends me, but it sure does make me feel stupid. Having tried so many things legally and then failing to get them done, too, I really do feel that the safest way to accomplish something is to just do it - illegaly.

Whee, awesome system.

With respect the only way to do it is legally

I am sorry that you feel this way, what have you tried that has failed, you only got your NOA 1 at the end of August no offence meant

My fiance is in South Africa. I am in the US. We applied for our K1 Sept 15 and the first was approved. Now we are waiting for our second I-129F to be approved in Feb. I am wondering how long it will take for him to get here? Or anyones story? Is the embassy fast? We are wondering a time frame. We are so ready to be together and just want to know how much longer it will be. We thought 5-6months but the stories I have read are very discouraging.

The first thing you should do is to fill in your timeline. and then you will get an estimated date of adjudication for your NOA2
I think what you mean was for first approved you got your NOA1 which means that they have received your application and it is going into processing.
No one can give you an exact date it is a waiting game to be honest I have been waiting for my NOA2 since June, but some people who filed after me have received theirs.

Good luck with your journey, you will have to learn to be patient

Pictures sent with the I-129F should show the "intended couple" together (only). I suggest you not show anything that would infer a wedding, although the aforementioned is clearly an engagement. USCIS may misinterpret the photos and it “might” cause problems.

Send photos with the two of you without rings or ceremonies.

Engagement pictures or anything official about engagement is never required. Some pictures together and with family would be nice but keep anything ceremonial to yourself for the reasons William outlined.

The only evidence of engagement you need is the signed letters of intent.

Thanks from me as well for the engagement evidence information.
As Vermont is now speeding up, I am now looking at all of the information for packet 3, and was worried about this point. We do not have any pictures, and I do not have a ring as we decided that I would rather have a combined engagement/wedding ring, I was thinking about sending some engagement cards which we received which did seem silly but that was all we had
Thanks for your help with this and putting my worries on this point to rest

The police records are not required for the petition.
This is required further down the line for the interview.
You might not have a criminal record but how would they know that, so Yes you will have to supply the police record, they are not going to take you word for it

2nd question..

I have a US passport do i still need certified copy of my birth certificate?
or just make a notarized copy on all pages of my US passport? colored o black &white?

Notarized for what purpose? If the USCIS wanted a notarized document, it would specifically be requested....

SO just copy all the pages my US passport will do?

We just sent in photo copies of all the pages plus the front and back cover

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOngoing emails with I-129F in English?
We did not submit any e-mails with our application, as the only proof that they require at this stage is proof of having met, so we just sent in copies of e-tickets from our flights and copies of our passports we did throw in a few photos for luck

The e-mails etc we will save for the interview as proof of ongoing relationship.

Good luck with your application

Ultimately, it doesn't matter one damn bit.
Cases will be completed when they're completed, and just because "Bob" filed when you did doesn't mean that Bob won't be married and working on the first kid by the time you get your NOA2. Don't rely on the timelines of others....it's a sure way to feel either despair or superiority.

I hear ya!!!!!!!!

I have given up on going on the USCIS site twice a day and now am going on there twice a week, they will mail when the noa2 is done or we will get it in the post, worrying and checking it all the time does not change a thing.

However I do like to go on Igors list to see how many are approved, or an idea of how many depending on if the timeline is filled in

However I look forward to updating mine

Shaz wishing I was working on making kids right now ha ha ha ha

Hi

I'm a British Citizen currently in the US with my fiance on a 90 day visa waiver. We have a K1 visa application currently being processed by the California Service Centre. I can see from the USCIS website that our case has been updated on 2nd October but nothing has happened since. No approval..nothing.

We are using a lawyer who isn't much help at chasing this up. On the lawyer's website we can see that other cases have been approved after 125 days. Ours is now running at 145 days. Could there be a problem? Would the USCIS let us know if there was?
This is really frustrating...any advice anybody?

You should fill in your timline and then it will give you a expected adjudication date
Also if you check on Igor's list you will be able to see what dates are currently being approved for VJ members so you can compare your dates
Good luck and hope the wait is not to long

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresletter of returning to work
I took a letter on company letter headed paper with me it, just confirmed that I was in full time employment and the date that I was expected back at work, might be an idea to tak your last pay slip. You will also have the return ticket so the dates tie up.
If you pay rent or a motgage copies of that.

I had the letter but did not offer it, I was honest and if they wanted to see it I would have shown it to them but all they asked to see was my return ticket.

However I was going for less than a week, they might want more information from you as you are going for 60 days and that does seem a lot of time to get leave from an employer.

Your best bet is to read throught the guides and you will get a full understanding
And if you look at the example forms it shows you a completed form so you can base it on that
It even gives you examples of the letters that need to be submitted

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHello

I'm in a situation where my fiance and I have already completed all the documentation neccessary for the K-1 Visa and she has recieved it. However, I want to know if she can enter the U.S. without using the Visa, just to visit for a week or so. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My fiancee and I are still waiting for our NOA2 but I am visiting her in November. I'm well aware there's a chance I could be turned back but 220 days without seeing eachother is a LONG time. Too long not to try! As Stinky Monkey said, without knowing WHERE in the process you are, it's difficult to say. Once she HAS the visa stamp for the K-1, if she makes a trip into the US you will be expected to marry within 90 days.

Have a great trip, I am going at Christmas 9 weeks 2 days but who is counting ha ha

Might even have to delay packet 3 till I come back that is if I have my NOA2 by then

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting
You have not completed your timeline so I can not tell and unsure of what stage you are at

If you are in the process of obtaining the K1 and the K1 has not been issued then you can visit on the visa waiver programme but there is always a chance of being turned back

If the K1 visa has been issued then the next time you enter you will have to get married within 90 days

One more Question!

If she is here, and the NOA2 comes.. does she have to fly right back? Or can she finish out her time here, and deal with the final Visa stuff when she gets back?

Thanks again!

I filed and got my Noa1 June 30 so I should have my NOA2 next month. I have booked a flight to Texas for the Christmas holidays so if I get my packet 3 before I go I will just delay sending it back. It does take some time from approval to actually receiving the packet so I am not concerned. Have your time together and send back the packet 3 when you can, I will try and get everything filled in before I go and will send it on my return.

have fun together

Welcome to the waiting room

First thing to do is to fill in your timeline so you can get some idea as to when you may expect NOA2

You can register on the USCIS website for e-mail updates when you get your NOA1 and case number

Next thing is to read the guides which will show you what the forms are required for packet 3 and you can start looking into that you have a few months to go

Good luck with your journey

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFear of it not working out
All I can say is I would definitley NOT being going through all of this if I wasnt totally smitten by my boy and convinced that no matter how great my life is on its own, it is so much better when shared with him! I dont have the guts to take such a big risk!

My man was the one who initially took the big risk of coming to London for 8months (we'd only been together for 3 months in India prior to that) to see if a holiday romance was something more.....and I am SOOOO glad he took that risk! I was in love with him when we were first together but the K1 wasnt an option back then because I WASNT sure if we'd be in 'love' in an 'everyday' setting dealing with normal life! So the risk you are taking is definitley bigger!!

And when he first moved here, he was different, not the confident cocky man I was used to, but a bit scared, unsure - having no job, friends or bearings does that to you! It almost broke us though, until he got his act together and did more than I ever thought he could and I got to see him shine, and his strength and fell for him even more! We both grew from the experience, and dealing with the toughness/winter of London together has made us sure that living together in a huge place in sunny America is going to be EASY! And confidant that no matter what life throws at us we can handle it together, and nothing is worth more than our love.

All I can recommend is this- if you really do feel for her and want her in your future, then be very kind and patient when she moves there. Help her as much as you can- introduce her to people/social networking forums etc, and facilitate her- the first few months WILL be hard, they ALWAYS are when moving to a new country or even back to an old country! (and even harder with the 'just married' and AOS things etc!!)
If things do get rough- try go on a mini holiday somewhere in the states together- eg Hawai!! to try remember that 'holiday' feeling (and sometimes you BOTH need a break from real life! My man and I went to the canary islands while he was here and it is my FAVOURITE memory!)
It will be hard, but bear with it, and you will both be deeper in love and more strongly connected when SHE is the one suggesting places to go and making YOU wonder where she is when shes out with friends!

Much love and best wishes to you smile.gif
