K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRandom K3 Approvals
Is it just me, or is there no rhyme or reason to the order in which USCIS is approving K3s??

I have seen so many people posting approvals on this site who filed a lot more recently than some of us. For example, my husband & I filed in early March, and yet USCIS is approving people who filed in April and May. Aren't they supposed to go in order of receipt notice date?? I know we aren't the only ones this is happening to...many of you out there are in our same situation.

Don't get me wrong...I am truly thrilled for everyone here who has K3 approved already...it gives us all hope! I'm just really confused why the approvals are all over the map.

Anyone have any insights? (BESIDES the fact that some applications are subject to additional background checks?)

Waiting patiently,
(oh, who am I kidding...Waiting IMPATIENTLY!!)

Great news! It shouldn't be too long now. We just got our K3 approval in the mail last night, and that was only a few weeks after they processed our RFE response. (see my timeline).

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresaddress change ? should i inform USCIS ?
That is correct...the post office will NOT forward information from USCIS. Wouldn't you want to update your address so that information they send will come directly to your new address & avoid delays anyway? I strongly suggest updating it with them.

Separately, as I mentioned, I changed my address awhile ago and they have confirmed the change by letter, plus all correspondence has come to my new address successfully. Write them a letter if it makes you feel better...this is just my experience.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresaddress change ? should i inform USCIS ?
USCIS told me when I called that I did not need to send a letter, so I didn't. We have had no problems.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresaddress change ? should i inform USCIS ?
It's easy. I just did it myself. Just call the USCIS 800 number and speak with an operator. They will take your address change down and update the address for both cases. (Just be sure to ASK them to note the change for both case numbers.) You will know your address has been changed successfully when you receive a notice in the mail confirming the change.

Don't worry, it won't mess anything up. Good luck!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 Approved!!
Thanks so much! It feels so good to join the ranks of those with K3 approval...I really needed some good news this week. :D

I think we'll continue to pursue both tracks...I just want my husband here as fast as possible! I suppose if the K3 happens to get to the consulate first, we'll have him enter the US on that, and return to London if necessary for the CR-1 interview. (I've seen several of you post about difficulties with adjusting status in the US, so we're not too keen on that option.) And if we're lucky enough to have both cases reach the consulate at the same time, it sounds like they would cancel the K3 and let him interview for the CR-1. Am I right?

Ohh....I'm so excited! I'm going to London to visit my husband this Friday for 5 blissful days...knowing that the K3 is moving will certainly make it less painful to say goodbye when I leave.

Our K3 has been approved!!   I got the notice in the mail yesterday (dated July 27), but still no email from USCIS. Our case status hasn't been updated online either.

Still, I was thrilled to find this approval waiting in my mailbox last night...for all of you still waiting, there's hope!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Help
And one more question...what are you all putting for question #11? "I intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3. (If room and board, state for how long, etc.)"

So...how long do you put..."indefinitely?" OR "Until such time as my husband is granted working rights and can contribute to monthly expenses?"

Part of me wants to acknowledge that he will eventually be working and contribute to our household and the economy...surely that looks good. Yet it I wonder if they look unfavorably on someone who says they will only support their spouse until a certain time (until they contribute). Know what I mean?

I will support my husband for the rest of my life if I have to, but I'm not sure what to put on this form!!

Overthinking again, I'm sure....

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Help
Hi there,
Now that our K3 is approved, I'm preparing the I-134 Affidavit of Support. What do I put in question 10?

It asks: "I have submitted visa petition(s) to the Bureau of Citizenship & Immigration Services (CIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none."

Do I have to list my husband here because we filed for CR-1/I-130 in addition to the K3?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat can be done while waiting for NOA2
Yes, you can get your police certificates. Also, while you can't do the full medical now, you can begin finding any records of your spouse's immunizations/vaccinations, and if there are any that are missing, you can have those vaccinations done now. You will simply have to provide proof of this during the medical.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 status - phone number?
I have certainly been there! Your impatience is perfectly normal and a common side-effect of this visa application process. One touch since your June NOA-1 you say?? You are doing GREAT compared to many people. Just sit back and relax. It's a long ride. The more you can train yourself to be patient, the better.

Best of luck! Many people are in the same boat with you. :D

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 status - phone number?
Basically, the people on the USCIS hotline have no information whatsoever about individual cases, so your experience seems pretty typical. All they can ever do is put your mind at ease that work is being performed on your case, help answer some questions (if you're lucky) and facilitate address changes. If you need more than that, you're better off getting an Infopass appointment. Do you have specific concerns, or are you just antsy?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 status - phone number?
I had trouble at first too...try this:

Call 1-800-375-5283
Opt 6 Check on Status
Opt 2 Can't Find Receipt Number - That's the big trick
Opt 4 To speak to a live person

When you get customer service on the line tell them you can't pull up your case by the receipt number issued to you and that the agent stated that you should be able to do so.

This is what was recommended to me and it worked!

Glad to help, and good luck...it's easy to get antsy and be impatient with this process, but I'm sure your case is moving along smoothly. At least there are many of us here on VJ in the same boat! The best thing we can do is help each other and share our experiences. I know nothing makes me feel better than knowing I'm not alone, and you'll find many people here to help!

If it's any consolation, they don't seem to have paid one lick of attention to my coverletters anyway. If they had, they would have seen that my husband and I did not meet through a marriage broker, because I described in full how we met! :P I think the coverletters are a "nice to do" rather than a "need to do."

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPhotos required
hi , i have searched this forum but without luck.
I have recieved my package 3 for the K3.

It states that 3 photos are needed the size of which are 2inches square. Do i need to get these done a special place or will standard photos from the photo machine/booths be ok?
Two inches square seems some what larger than these photos...

what is the experience of anyone who has does this? the package advises some places but these are miles away.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOk to Change Jobs?
No, the K3 is ahead of the CR-1, and right now it looks like he'll have to enter on K3 and return to London later for the CR-1 interview.

I just want to know if it will cause problems for me to change jobs after he enters on K3. My I-864 (accompanying the CR-1) contains my current employment information, so will there be a problem if that changes?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOk to Change Jobs?
My husband's K3 interview is coming up soon, and his CR-1 is also just about to be sent from NVC to the London Embassy. What happens if I change jobs after he enters the US on the K3, but before the CR-1 interview? Will I have to provide a new I-864 package?

I don't want to jeapordize my husband's visa approval by changing employment, but I'd like to understand my options.

Thanks in advance!

Here's a link to the tax transcript request form:

http://www.irs.gov/p...-pdf/f4506t.pdf

As you will see at the top of the form, you can also request them by calling 1.800.829.1040. That's what I did and I had mine within 10 days!

Good luck.

Yes, just request your tax transcripts. I believe you don't even have to show your W2s with the transcripts. W2s are only required with copies of your actual tax return.

Being touched doesn't mean that anything is wrong...it just means work is being performed. Trust me, you WANT to be touched. Would you prefer your case was sitting there untouched under somebody's cup of coffee? :P

And I wouldn't worry about it being approved too fast. Just look at our timeline...it was 6 months from the time we filed I-129F to the K3 interview! You should have at least a few more months to wait.

(Ps...my husband had his interview in London today and was approved. Yay!!!   )
