K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-29F Form assistance please? (Helping my US finacee)

You mean the I-134. The I-130 is a completely different document. :)

That won't be needed until the interview stage, so no need to fill it out for a few months.

LOL! Yeah that was what I meant! Awesome! Thanks for the advice!

LOL thank you I might just do that! When do you think we should start on the I-130 form? (The one about being a co-sponsor)?

Hey guys!!

Just to let you know that my fiancee signed & dated all forms and photos, got her passport photo taken & photocopied her passport and proof of disability and I am thrilled to announce that she sent the I-129F form yesterday via FedEx!

Now we wait (hopefully no RFEs!)

Thank you all who have helped me out! I will continue helping others and keep you updated about our progress!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-29F Form assistance please? (Helping my US finacee)

I just did a VJ search for others who have perhaps been denied or received an RFE for A4 paper and I can't find a single one.

LOL! You just beat me to the punch Evylin! Strange....maybe that guy just had bad luck huh? Thank you very much for helping me...all of you!

Yeah I don't think that the operators would know, my apologese I thought that A-4 size paper was universal (maybe not called A-4, but nevertheless the measurements would be same).

However please understand my situation, I can't risk to have any delays such as RFEs or denials, time is crucial. Not just being eager to get married, but to look after her. But I think we are willing to take that risk; even if it is just one person who got denied (supposibly).

Thank you all, I will of course keep you posted if I hear from that OP I quoted or any information that cold be useful to future petitioners.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-29F Form assistance please? (Helping my US finacee)

I think it's either really bad luck or even someone using the A4 paper as an excuse, if you will, not to disclose the actual reason for denial. Think about it... if they request RFEs for what matters, why would they deny you for a few millimeters difference on a sheet of paper...it has no rhyme or reason.

I just went to the USCIS site to double check, just in case my memory was failing.. but, I did not ANY instructions indicating the paper size you should use to print out the petition... see for yourself http://www.uscis.gov...i-129finstr.pdf .. maybe I'm skipping something

Yeah I skimmed read it as well. No mention about what paper size to use. You are right, why the hell should a few millimeters make it justifed to send out a RFE when an RFE stands for Request For Evidence, not Request For Correct Stationery (RFCS.....just made it up! )

Yeah here is the thread. The guy was helping someone and just mentioned it in passing (Page 2):

http://www.visajourn..._gopid__5399774

And thanks guys for helping me. I will try and get her to call the operators about this query later today, but I doubt they would know the answer since they are sub-contracted.

And yes dude I made sure she signed everything! Watched her via webcam AND the money order is for $340!! B-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSelf Check In Boarding Passes - Primary Evidence
Hi All,

My fiance and I will be starting the K1 process later this year. My partner is/will be the USC (currently going through the naturalisation process).

I've been reading this forum for six months now and at last we're getting ready to start the process. Just glad I found VJ !

Having read much of the RFE thread I'm starting to get my head round the perils and pitfalls of the initial application and issue of proving the existence of the relationship.

It seems like the most important bit to get right is the primary evidence. For me that's going to be a series of visits to the US with photos of us as secondary. The passport stamps and boarding passes are obviously a big deal as they're not that easy to fake (should one even think of trying...) so I understand their importance.

My real question is - is there any issue regarding boarding passes that have been issued on-line via a self checkin process i.e I've printed them at home. I always check-in online and save the boarding pass as a PDF as well as printing out hard copy to use at the airport. Given that many airlines have switched to this I would have thought that the adjudicators would accept them.

Any thoughts or experience welcomed.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview question-Why arent you getting married in your home country?
Because I'm likely to get more grief and a greater risk of denial of entry visiting a wife than I would just visiting a fiance ?. Noooo - probably not the ideal answer either .:bonk:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFaded ticket stubs
The following technique may be more effective than simply photocopying.

1) Use a scanner to get an image file such as a JPG file of the documents

2) Open them in an application such as Photoshop or GIMP

3) Use the levels function to increase the contrast

Can't guarantee it will work but we use that process at work when someone brings in a faded document. Needless to say you need to know what I'm talking about or someone who does to actually do this.

If you want to do such a letter, loo for a lawyer that is a notary public and you can notarize such letter for less than 3000 naira. A notarized letter carries more weight than an affidavit.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDs156k

Evidence of financial support if from the us citizen. Last 3 pay stubs, letter from employer, I-134, bank statements and any co-sponsor information if you have one.

Evidence of engagement is proof of relationship. Skype calls, emails, fb chats and so on. If you have a receipt for an engagement ring submit it if you want. As well as any boarding passing, passport stamps and itineraries if you've traveled since the I-129f petition.

Also check how long the police certificate if valid. For Chile we have to get it no earlier than 2 months before the interview or they do not accept it.
Good luck

Thanks

Does that go with packet three or do I take that to interview ?

You also posted this in the UK forum, where I directed you to the pinned thread that answers your questions: http://www.visajourn...terview-thread/

Best luck!

Its not very clear how will you manage your planned wedding and K1. We had to cancel our wedding even though we planned it 9 months in advance after filing K1.

I made a folder with primary evidence 1st. his passport stamps with this tickets, our financial investments, contracts of places we lived together and then pictures, letters from friends, skype, facebook and emails.

During our interview no one even open that file just asked me 2 questions and done!

Best luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWho pays in case they turn you away?

Well, the question is pretty straightforward.
In case the officers turn you away at Port Of Entry and you literally have to take the next available flight home, who pays for you to go back?
Do you have to pay yourself or is it covered by your roundtrip ticket?

Does anyone have any experiences?

Although I am not very sure, I use to watch this show in the UK, border petrol or something like that, in case if the immigration is not letting you in they buy you your ticket to return. Kinda deportation?

Not sure lets other member ans too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI129 F Fees?!

The check is made payable to the US Department of Homeland Security. It would be included with your I-129F Petition package, and the whole thing mailed to the address per the instructions - unless you were filing through the embassy over there and they had different procedures stipulated.

ah, so the international bank draft is like a check, or money order?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI129 F Fees?!
I am a dual citizen of UK/US and I am currently living in England with my fiance, who is British. I am in the very early stage of filing for the I 129F. I am confused as to how to pay for it. I was told today from USCIS to send an international bank draft from my local bank. Has anyone else done this? I am worried the money wont get to the right place, as they only said to send it to the US Depart of Homeland Security. Any thoughts?! Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Annotation?

If it was me I wouldn't worry about it. You have the visa with no errors or misspellings and you are going to be carrying a packet which will have everything the border officer needs to know about you and your case if he has any questions. The packet contains all your info and as far as I can tell all the info that was submitted with the original petition. Just make sure you enter the U.S before the visa expiration date.

If you want to feel more assured then you can call the US embassy in London and ask them if you should be concerned.

Safe travels!

i guess you're right :) i don't think i'll be completely at ease until ive passed immigration...my fiancee laughs at me because i seem to be worrying about the slightest thing lol, maybe i should keep off these forums so as not to find more things to stress about lol :) thankyou for your help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Annotation?

You A# is your Alien Registration number also refereed to as your Alien number, or file number. It is an identification number for your case. The border officer will look up all your info anyway when looks up your visa. The Border officer actually wrote my wife's A# in her passport and drew a line from the Visa entry number "1".

Also look for a red visa number. It will be 8 or more number long and should be stamped to the right side under the Annotation section. You will need that when filing for AOS in the I-485 form.

So as long as i have the Annotatin Number and the red visa number its all ok?? as i have both of these

Nothing about me on there. As someone mentioned previously, this seems to be a somewhat free-form field, depending mostly on the person typing it up that day....

OK, worry wart here again....i've passed my interview in London last week and have received my visa back :) i have just been browsing some posts and came across someone talking about the annotation on the visa, saying that the petitioner's name is wrong?? now on my visa the petitioner (my fiancee) is not mentioned at all, all i have is A# and then 8 numbers...is this normal and correct for visas issued out of London? Thank you for your help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfidavit
If he scans it and you print it out, you will not have the original signiture on the form, so he will have to snail mail it.
if you are having problems with the post then maybe he should print out a few and sign and send them to you and send them all separately.
You can always try and take a scanned copy to the interview saying that the original did not arrive due to his situation, they might understand and you will be ok, or they might approve you pending receipt of the original

Good luck

Thanks, we really appreciate your help. Regarding my first question I live very close to Toronto, Ontario, and I believe the American Embassy would be there but I am not sure if this is correct. How do I find out which city/consulate is mine? Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilling out 129F form
QUOTE (Todd&Dani @ Feb 16 2009, 08:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone,

Please see our introductory thread in "Introducing our Members" forum.

We are filling out the 129F forms and have some questions we hope someone can help us figure out.

1. On the 129F form, Question 20: Your finace will apply for a Visa abroad at the American Embassy or Consulate at: How do I know where this is??

This would be the one in Canada or the country which he or she is living, we are in the UK so I put London

2. On the G-325A at the bottom of the form there is a box to fill in an Alien Registration Number? How or where do I find this number (if needed)?
It is not needed, if you dont know what it is then you dont have one

3. On the G-325A there is another box asking: This form is submitted in connection with an application for: and to check one of the three boxes; Naturalization, Status as Permanent Resident or Other (Specify). We believe it is correct to check Other and fill in I-129F. Is this correct?

yes that is correct, the example forms are very helpfull

Thanks in advance for any and all help and feedback.

Todd & Dani
