Dennis and I just got back to our hotel from our interview. We were at the embassy for almost four hours..and it was worth every minute. We were called up to hand in our paperwork and the lady who took it was VERY impressed with our organization (yay VJ!), then sat back down. Then Dennis was called up for his fingerprints and we were told to sit and wait for our interview. While waiting we heard the two couples in front of us have their interviews, one had been denied for a tourist visa last year because the officers didn't believe she would come back at that time. They were finally approved after a pretty in depth interview. The other couple asked specifically when they could pick up their visa and were told that it was impossible to do them same day, because the information has to go back to Washington and they were already closed there. Both couples were called up, told to sit back down, then called up for additional interviewing They called Dennis up (I was allowed to go with him) and spent less than five minutes with the interviewer. She asked how we'd met, what type of wedding we were planning on having, and what we each did for work. Then she said those magical five words "I'm satisfied with your relationship." She sent us over to the first window to get instructions. The lady there said that the consulate will be closed tomorrow! Normally you can pick up your visa the next day at Vancouver...we were a bit panicking then because we have plane tickets to fly back home tomorrow night! The lady told us to sit down and she would try to print the visa right then and there for us. We sat for another hour or so and she called us up and gave us the sealed packet and returned Dennis' passport! Apparently we REALLY impressed her, since they had just told someone else it was impossible to do, but made an exception for us! Thank you all for the well wishes and the support through this process, it's taken SO long, but finally we'll be heading home together! We leave Canada on Friday and are going to drive back to Salt Lake. I hope everyone who is still waiting gets their good news soon! Congrats Dennis and Andrea. You both have been such a great source of strength,comfort and good advice. Its so lovely to hear you were approved, and so nice in particular for me because I was approved for our K1 within 24 hours of yours....its so nice to have been on the journey with you!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February filers at CSC	OK, so I was wondering what the etiquette for postings on this specific topic of the forum is once NOA2 has been obtained... I've been a feb 2008 CSC filer, and hence have been posting on this board. Since I have my NOA2, and now my application is at my designated (London) consulate, where do I post my "new" questions? Here, or somewhere else? I have a question regarding the form DS 156 (https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp?lang=1)...question 36....I see the example form on visajourney says "no" (see here http://www.visajourn...orm-DS-156.pdf), whilst many discussions on this and other visa discussions forums (searched google for "DS156 question 36") think both yes and no are perfectly good answers, with neither a yes or a no causing problems at the interview stage....thoughts anyone? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February filers at CSC	Thanks to everyone with the congratulation messages. Both myself (live in the UK) and my financee are over here in the UK at the moment, and so we heard about our NOA2 from Amy's mom in the USA when she called us with the good news (I have not seen or read its wording myself but it is the NOA2 and not an RFE as we had it read out to us over the phone).... I understand the process once our application gets to the london consulate(ie packets 1,2,3/medical/interview), but I am unsure whether its usual for the NVC part of the process to need any paperwork or documentation from us? Does the NVC part of the process usually NOT involve any action from us? Not sure whether I need to have anything ready before I hear from the London consulate thats all? Thoughts anyone? and finally...how do we know when the NVC is done...can we still see the case status online via USCIS , or do we get that info from somewhere else (ie more NOA's in the mail, with the next one coming from the NVC? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February filers at CSC	We got our NOA2 in the mail Sat 12th July - wahoo.......the NOA2 was dated 10th July....our case online was last touched 9th July 08 (that was the first one since Feb 08)...and even today (14th July) online it still shows case received and pending and is not updated to show NOA2....so keep an eye on your snail mail post boxes everyone... Igor's List reflects those petitions within the current USCIS processing timeframe. Before yesterday, the "beginning" date was November 17, 2007. Now, it's December 18, 2007. So, the names on the list (Igor's) filed prior to Dec. 18 have now dropped off that list. Thanks everyone. I should have guessed there was a science behind the system!! The links are specific to my case, which means these links are relevent for people who have their consulate in London, and for K1's applications with no children or no other family members immigrating, and no previous marriage. link to visajourney guide on what happens next http://www.visajourn...cation.html#4.1 link to London consulate on what happens next http://www.usembassy...processing.html link to London consulate page which lists forms...the forms for the next stages are in this list http://www.usembassy.../visaforms.html link to United Kingdom Police for Police record application. http://www.acpo.poli.....0form pdf.pdf The main lessons I have learnt are: 1...practice on the form DS 230 - I as this is the 1st thing the consulate wants from you.(also DS156,DS156K and DS 157..NB some of these forms require compliant passport photo) 2...review the supporting documents list now....if you don't have your full UK birth certificate or have not applied for your police record , be ready to obtain copies or dare I say it, apply for them now....!!
